Authoress Note: Welcome to Chapter 92 of God of Lies and Mischief and the Woman of Many Faces. Thank you to those who have left reviews for this story. It does mean a lot to me that you guys are enjoying it and hopefully I'm still able to continue with pleasing you guys with this story. I hope that this next chapter will make up for Everleigh missing the spaceship to go back up into space, but I think that this is probably the best way to go since she has already been into space with Thor and Loki.
Also double update this week. I hope y'all enjoy it. Without further ado Chapter 92. ENJOY!
Chapter 92
Bruce held Everleigh up who was having a hard time standing. He saw Wong making a portal. "Where are you going?"
"The Time Stone's been taken. The Sanctum remains unguarded. What will you do?" Wong questioned Bruce and Everleigh.
Bruce looked down at the cell phone that he held in his hand. "I'm gonna make a call." He said as he held up the phone.
Wong nodded his head in understanding before closing the portal.
Everleigh let out a tired breath. "Well let's call him to see if he can get Vision back. If my brain is correct he could very well be with Wanda."
"Wanda?"
"Yes, I think the two of them like one another." She told him softly as she let out a soft groan as Bruce held her up trying to keep her on her feet. "Sorry."
"Nothing to be sorry for Leigh. You would do the same for me."
Everleigh nodded her head knowing that was indeed true.
INFINITY WAR
Everleigh sat in one of the back rooms to keep hidden from the man that Rhodey was talking to. A man that had destroyed her life and would easily destroy Bruce's life since he had been after Bruce for so long.
"Still no word from Vision?" Ross's voice rang out through the room.
"Satellites lost him somewhere over Edinburgh," Rhodey said rather calmly.
"On a stolen quinjet with four of the world's most wanted criminals."
"You know they're only criminals because you've chosen to call them that, right, sir?"
"My God, Rhodes, your talent for horseshit rivals my own."
"If it weren't for those Accords, Vision would've been right here."
"I remember your signature on those papers, Colonel."
"That's right. And I'm pretty sure I've paid for that."
"Do you have second thoughts?"
"Not anymore."
Everleigh moved slightly, seeing Steve with Natasha, Wanda, Sam, and Vision.
"Mr. Secretary."
Everleigh swallowed the lump in her throat. It had been quite a while since she had heard Steve's voice. The last time that she had heard from him was when he had gone down to Wakanda.
"You got some nerve. I'll give you that."
"You could use some of that right now," Natasha said coolly as she looked at the hologram of Ross.
"The worlds on fire. And you think, all is forgiven?"
"I'm not looking for forgiveness. And I'm way past asking for permission. Earth just lost her best defender. So we're here to fight. And if you wanna stand in our way... We'll fight you, too." Steve said that this was the easiest thing that they could do. He just hoped that everyone was alright including the one girl he hadn't contacted in a while and he was concerned about her since he hadn't talked to her.
"Arrest them."
Rhodey took a breath through his nose knowing what to do. "All over it." He said turning it off. "That's a court-martial. It's great to see you, Cap." Rhodey said, coming over to Steve who shook his hand.
"You too, Rhodey."
"Well. You guys, really look like crap. Must've been a rough couple of years."
"Yeah, well, the hotels weren't exactly five-star." Sam said, letting out a soft chuckle.
Bruce slowly came out of the back room with Everleigh behind him. "Uh, I think you look great. Yeah. I'm back." He said softly.
Natasha eyed Bruce in surprise. "Hi, Bruce."
"Nat."
Sam stayed silent for a moment as he held up Vision and then finally spoke up. "This is awkward."
Everleigh let out a soft laugh shaking her head lightly.
INFINITY WAR
They stood in another room together talking about what was going on.
"So we gotta assume they're coming back, right? And they can find us. We need all hands on deck. Where's Clint?" Bruce questioned looking around, his brows furrowed slightly.
"After the whole Accords situation, he and Scott made a deal. It was too tough on their families." Natasha explained to Bruce knowing that he had missed out on a lot.
"Who's Scott?"
"Ant-Man," Steve said casually.
"There's an Ant-Man and a Spider-Man? Okay, look... Thanos has the biggest army in the Universe. And he is not gonna stop until he... He gets...Vision's stone."
"Well then, we have to protect it," Natasha said, thinking crossing her arms.
"Thanos is very dangerous… we've seen how he is… he could easily wipe us all out," Everleigh said, crossing her arms.
"No, we have to destroy it. I've been giving a good deal of thought to this entity in my head, about its nature. But also, its composition. I think if it were exposed to a sufficiently powerful energy source, something, very similar to its signature, perhaps... Its molecular integrity could fail." Vision got closer to Wanda.
"And you, with it. We're not having this conversation." Wanda said, shaking her head.
"Eliminating the stone is the only way to be certain that Thanos can't get it."
"That's too high a price."
"Only you, have the power to pay it. Thanos threatens half the Universe. One life cannot stand in the way of defeating him."
"But it should. We don't trade lives, Vision." Steve said, looking at Vision knowing that he was making a choice that would ruin others.
Vision turned and walked towards Steve. "Captain, 70 years ago, you laid down your life to save how many millions of people. Tell me, why is this any different?"
Steve took a breath knowing he was right, but before he had a chance to reply to what Vision said Bruce began to speak.
"Because you might have a choice. Your mind is made up of a complex construct of overlays. Jarvis, Ultron, Tony, me, the Stone. All of them mixed. All of them learning from one another."
"You're saying Vision isn't just the stone?" Wanda questioned turning her attention to Bruce.
"I'm saying that... If we take out the stone, there's still a whole lot of Vision left. Perhaps the best parts."
"Can we do that?" Everleigh questioned turning her head to look at Bruce, her brows furrowed.
"Not me. Not here." Bruce said, shaking his head.
"You better find someone, and somewhere fast. Ross isn't exactly just gonna let you guys have your old rooms back." Rhodey said, looking at them.
Steve thought for a moment and then finally spoke up. "I know somewhere."
"Are you thinking…" Everleigh said, looking at Steve.
Steve nodded his head. "Wakanda."

This is the end of Chapter 92. I hope that you guys enjoyed this chapter. I hope that I did alright writing this out. I knew that this movie was going to be a bit harder to write since I have a hard time watching that movie since Loki is one of my favorite characters in the whole Marvel Universe. So it might take me some time to tweak what happens. Please leave a review and let me know what you think. Reviews help me keep going when it comes to writing. I hopefully will have the next chapter out on Monday keeping up with the schedule that I have given to myself. Until next time.
