Chasing after a supposed thief who had taken one of the Oni masks, Jay dashed across the street. Being the master of lightning, he has a great deal of endurance and is one of his team's fastest people. They sent him to chase after him for this reason.

"You can't run forever!" Jay shouted as he ascended a structure.

"Ninja, you're not understanding. Like your elemental powers, this is powerful. Do you not think it is time for someone else to gain authority? The thief answered, and Jay could sense that the thief endurance was failing.

Jay kept running until he finally lost patience. He fired lightning at the thief, lightning danced across his fingertips. Jay snatched up the mask as soon as the thief dropped it.

"Guys, I got the mask, the thief wouldn't stop running so it might take some time to get back to you guys," Jay said over his intercom.

"We hear you loud and clear, we'll be on the destiny bounty, remember to be careful though," Lloyd said as his voice trailed off into static.

Jay sighed in frustration; walking would take some time. He can't even recall having to run for so long. He didn't even experience breathing problems. Jay finally reached the bounty after what seemed like an eternity, and he gave Lloyd the mask.

"I'm glad you were able to retrieve this Jay, it's an extremely valuable item," said Master Wu as he entered. "We must ensure that the Garmadon sons won't interfere with it.

"It was nothing", Jay said with a smile, "You're welcome."

Jay decided to take a shower despite his slight fatigue. He heard a knock on his door after taking a shower. "Come in!" Jay yelled as he continued to grab a shirt to wear.

"What's up?" Kai entered Jays room. He was holding something.

"Can you could fix it?"

"What's that?" I gave a reply.

"Are you stupid? Its a alarm clock" Kai rolled his eyes, annoyed. Kai is usually a hothead, so Jay dismissed his attitude. Jay took the clock and gave it a quick look.

"Yep, give me five minutes." Jay took a seat. Since it was a digital clock, fixing it would probably be more difficult. He looked at the clock after he had it opened it. He saw that there was a disconnect between two wires.

He would only need to reconnect them to complete the task. That's precisely what he did. Jay gave Kai the clock back and said, "There, it's fixed." "Thanks," Kai murmured

He left his room, thinking he might play a game of fist-to-face 2. He leaped onto the sofa to greet Cole.

"Hey Cole, Would you like to play Fist to Face 2? I've heard that the game was recently updated with new enemies."

Cole was looking down at his phone and paid no attention to Jay. Putting his attention elsewhere.

"Hello, earth to Cole". Cole was startled out of his thoughts by Jay waving his hand in front of his face. "Huh? Yea?"

"I asked if you would like to play face-to-face with me. I've heard that the game has been updated with new enemies"

Cole smiled simply, "Sorry, Jay. I have something to do. Maybe later?" he said as he got off the couch. Jay gave Cole a long look before getting up himself. "Y-yea I understand. After all, who wants to play video games when there's work to be done?" With a nervous laugh, Jay ran his hand down his arm.

"Yeah.." Cole said hesitantly, giving a strange glance at Jay.

Jay watched Cole leave. Now he had nothing to do because playing a game by himself was already boring enough. He walked towards the coat rack and a random hoodie, probably Kais because it had strong cologne on it, he walked outside.

He said down, looking off into the distance. Ninjago city looked pretty from here, the sun reflecting off the tall buildings. The birds flying around it ever so often.

Wait.

How could he see birds from here?

Jay rushed back into the bounty and ran to the control room. He went on a live feed from Ninjago City.

Holy shit…

Jay hurriedly returned to the bounty. "Everyone, exit now!" He shouted. Nobody took a response. He then proceeded to each room, knocking on each person's door. "Dudes, emergency!" He let out a scream.

They all hurried outside and asked Jay, "What's the problem?," Unintentionally echoing the energy around him, Lloyd yelled. Jay sprinted back to the computer, "Look, we gotta go,"

While everyone hurried to put on their gi, Zane hurried over to the computer to see what Jay was shouting about. Zane gazed at the gadget for a short while longer before saying,

"Jay, this was during our battle with Harumi and Garmadon," Zane turned to address Jay. Everyone sighed in irritation.

"No, but I just looked it up! And now that helicopters are flying over the city, I believe something is off". Jay went into a panic.

Did he scream for everyone and startle them for a silly reason?

Kai strolled over to the railing and peered at Ninjago City. "There's nothing there, Jay."

"What?" exclaimed Jay as he hurried to the railing.

Could he be seeing things?

"Jay, are you just trying to grab our attention?" Kai crossed his arms and questioned. Jay gave Kai the saddest, most perplexed, and most shocked look Kai has ever seen. "Maybe I was just seeing things. Sorry for the commotion. Go back to whatever you were doing," Jay said, shaking his head and doubting himself.

Embarrassed, Jay dragged himself into his room.

How could he have known? With a curse in his voice, Jay shut his door. With his back to the wall, he rested his head and gazed at his ceiling. He took a seat. His mind began to take over.

Why had I thought that? They now believe that you are trying to grab their attention. Fantastic work, Jay! Give yourself congrats for being you. You are such a moron!

Jay felt a buzz in his pocket as he took out his phone.

Porcupine: 3:12 p.m.

You good?

After reading the text, Jay chose to disregard it. Kai is only pulling this out as a practical joke. Even so, Jay giggled a little at the nickname he gave him.

One more buzz.

Porcupine:

3:15

So you are going to ignore me?

Jay let out an irritated sigh. then began responding to the texts.

Sparky: 3:16 pm

Kai, what do you want?

Jay set his phone aside after a short while. He wanted to explore Ninjago City to see if anything was genuinely going on, but he also felt like taking a stroll. Maybe he might explain his absence by saying he's going for a walk and he'll will get in touch with the others if something unexpected happens.

Another buzz, but more than one.

Porcupine: 3:20 pm

Sorry abt what happened earlier.

I know i shouldn't have done that.

Jay replied to the text right away,

Sparky: 3:21 pm

Is this an apology?

Man that's the first

Are you sure I'm not just extendable? Like you always say.

No other texts were sent, Jay knew it. Kai was just setting him up as always. Well whats a better time then now to go take a walk?
