"I'm looking forward to getting out of the classroom for a change, provided this is a normal trip for once!" Arnold said as the bus drove towards the camp site.

"It's such great weather for a camping trip." Carlos said.

"We're gonna have so much fun camping out in the woods." Dorothy Ann agreed.

"It's gonna be good to get outside in the great outdoors, I tend to like those sort of field trips." Wanda said as Ms Frizzle drove the bus towards the camp site.

"I heard that there's a serial killer hiding out in these woods called Jackson Van Hayes." Ralphie claimed which caused the other kids to gasp in shock. Ms Frizzle didn't hear what Ralphie said as she was concentrating on driving the bus.

"Oh brother, another one of these made up stories that Ralphie thinks is real." Keesha sighed sceptically.

"It's not nice to scare everyone like that with stories about murderers!" Phoebe complained.

"Ralphie, are you SURE that's not just a story that somebody made up?" Tim asked.

"No. It's real! This guy killed a bunch of people now he's hiding out in the woods!" Ralphie insisted.

"Ralphie, that's a load of nonsense. Why would there be a serial killer living out in the woods near Walkerville?" Keesha asked incredulously.

"But, but, it's true! I heard a rumour that this guy really is in the woods!" Ralphie insisted, which convinced precisely nobody on the bus.

"No it's not! You need to stop believing everything that you hear, Ralphie." Keesha responded sceptically. Dorothy Ann took out one of her books from her book bag and looked at it.

"According to my research, there is no such serial killer as Jackson Van Hayes." Dorothy Ann replied dismissively.

"Isn't it amazing how your book bag always seems to have a book on anything that we need to know?" Carlos asked.

"Dorothy Ann's right, there's no serial killer hiding in the woods." Arnold agreed with what Dorothy Ann said.

"Exactly, you can't just believe every rumour that you hear." Keesha agreed with Dorothy Ann.

"Precisely. Ms Frizzle wouldn't take us to the camp site if it was dangerous." Phoebe agreed.

"Yeah, there's probably more danger from wild animals than from serial killers." Tim agreed.

"This is probably just another one of those spooky stories that people make up." Wanda agreed as the Magic School Bus continued on its way towards the local camp site at the forest. A short while later, Ms Frizzle pulled the bus off the road onto the parking lot of the camp site. Once the bus was parked in a parking space, Ms Frizzle turned off the engine, and turned around to face her students.

"This is the camp site that we'll be camping at, children! So make sure not to leave anything that you brought with you on the bus." Ms Frizzle instructed her students as she opened the front doors of the bus. The kids unbuckled their seatbelts, picked up their bags, and filed off the bus one at a time. Ms Frizzle and Liz followed the kids off the bus, the doors closed behind them.

"Now we need to find a good place to set up camp." Arnold said as he stood next to the bus in the parking lot.

"Yeah, but where do we find a good place to do that?" Carlos asked.

"We should start looking around for one. There's bound to be some good places if we search." Dorothy Ann suggested.

"Let's start looking for a place to set up our tent." Keesha suggested.

"We should set up camp near Walker Lake." Phoebe suggested.

"Aren't you guys scared of the serial killer?" Ralphie asked as they began to walk away from the bus.

"Ralphie, you're not still talking about that, are you?" Tim asked dismissively.

"Like Dorothy Ann said, that's not even real. Forget about it and enjoy the camping trip." Wanda replied nonchalantly as the kids, their teacher, and her pet lizard walked away from the bus. Ms Frizzle, Liz, and her students walked through the woods for some time until they reached the shoreline of Walker Lake. Ms Frizzle was about to address her students when suddenly some nearby bushes began to rustle.

"LOOK! I bet that's the serial killer!" Ralphie pointed urgently. A moment later, a grey squirrel hopped out of the bushes, ran up to a nearby tree, and climbed it.

"RALPHIE! You need to stop overreacting! It was just a squirrel!" Keesha yelled at Ralphie.

"As my great aunt Sue Price once said, it's the littlest of things that can cause the biggest of shocks!" Ms Frizzle said as she reassured the class that there was nothing scary lurking out there. Meanwhile, unbeknownst to Ms Frizzle, Liz, or her students, local Murderhobo, Jackson Van Hayes was watching them from a distance away in the treeline.

"Too bad that they don't realise that there are far more dangerous things in these woods than wild animals." Jackson chuckled to himself as he observed Ms Frizzle's class from a distance.

"Now before we do anything else, I need to summon the bus." Ms Frizzle said then she whistled loudly, which caused the Magic School Bus to drive to their location by itself. The bus drove along the shoreline of Walker Lake, it pulled to a stop at the camp site and turned into a giant tent.

"You do realise that we could have just driven to the camp site in the first place?" Arnold asked as he stood in front of the tent.

"But then we'd have missed out on all of that fresh air and exercise." Ms Frizzle replied earnestly.

"I'm getting a feeling that I should have stayed home today." Arnold said.

"Cheer up, Arnold. You would regret staying home after this trip." Carlos said with a smile. Ms Frizzle, Liz, and the kids in her class entered the giant tent. They began to set up their sleeping bags and other camping equipment inside of the tent. Unlike any ordinary tent, the Magic School Tent had electricity, powered by solar panels and a battery backup. There was a television set, with a video game console, sofas to sit on, a bathroom, seperate bedrooms for Ms Frizzle, Liz, and each of her students to sleep in, even a refrigerator to keep food in as well as an area to prepare meals. Nonetheless, there was still a firepit on the outside to cook things the old fashioned way.

"Wow! Look at the inside of this tent!" Wanda declared as she took in the details of what was inside it.

"Yeah! It even has a TV with a video game system!" Ralphie agreed as he took in all of the stuff inside the tent.

"There's even a bathroom, and separate bedrooms." Arnold pointed out as the kids looked at all the stuff inside of the tent.

"There's even a sofa to sit on over there!" Keesha said as she looked at what was inside the tent.

"I didn't realise that there was so much space in here." Tim said as he looked at the inside of the tent.

"I wonder where the electricity comes from." Dorothy Ann said as she examined the inside of the tent.

"I think it has solar panels." Carlos replied to what Dorothy Ann said.

"I'm not sure if this is really in the spirit of camping out in nature. At my old school, we camped in ordinary tents." Phoebe pondered as she examined the inside of the tent.

"Well, Phoebe, we'll only be spending time here when we're NOT outside in the woods." Ms Frizzle pointed out. Liz meanwhile pointed to the exit of the tent to show them the fire pit outside.

"Seems Liz has found something outside that she wants to show us." Ms Frizzle said, leading her class to what Liz was trying to lead to.

"Is it the serial killer?!" Ralphie asked, which caused the rest of the class to groan.

"No! Ralphie! It's not a serial killer! Now will you shut up about that?!" Keesha replied angrily. Liz pointed to the exit of the tent again and began to move towards it. Ms Frizzle and the kids in the class followed Liz outside to a firepit that had been dug nearby.

"Hey! We can use this to toast marshmallows!" Arnold said as the kids and their teacher gathered around the firepit with Liz.

"Maybe later. But right now, we're going on a nature walk." Ms Frizzle informed her students and Liz.

"I hope we don't run into any bears or wolves in the woods." Arnold worried as he replied to what Ms Frizzle said.

"Arnold, I already told you, it's unlikely that we'll run into any at this time of year." Dorothy Ann reassured Arnold.

"Don't tell me you're still scared of what's hiding in the woods, Arnold." Wanda replied dismissively.

"Well I can't wait to see what sort of animals are out there in the woods." Tim declared.

"Don't worry, Arnold. If any bears attack, then you just have to run faster than Ralphie!" Carlos joked.

"Hey! That's not funny! Besides, bears are hibernating at this time of year!" Ralphie pointed out.

"I'm sure we'll be fine as long as we stay with Ms Frizzle and Liz." Keesha reassured the other kids.

"Just make sure you don't disturb or damage any of the wildlife or plantlife." Phoebe instructed the other kids.

"Come on children! Don't dawdle!" Ms Frizzle said as she and Liz led the kids away from the camp site and into the woods near Walker Lake.
