The walking trail and the woods were dry with light streaming through the canopy. There were occasional chipmunks or squirrels that ran about in the undergrowth or up nearby trees. Every so often the group would hear the flapping of wings, and see some birds flying about between the trees. There was no sign of wolves, bears, or mountain lions. After the group had been walking for a while they heard a rustling sound in the undergrowth.

"Hey! What's that noise?" Carlos asked.

"There's something over there!" Wanda cried.

"I bet it's a bear!" Arnold worried.

"Nah. It's probably a squirrel!" Dorothy Ann suggested.

"Or a chipmunk." Keesha added.

"It might be a bird." Tim suggested.

"Let's hope it's not a serial killer!" Ralphie said.

"It's more likely to be an animal or bird." Phoebe pointed out. There was another rustling noise then a possum emerged from the undergrowth. The possum appeared to be foraging as it sniffed and walked around as if it was looking for something.

"See? It's only a possum! Now will you shut up about this stupid rumour!" Keesha told off Ralphie for talking about the serial killer again.

"But he could be lurking out here in the woods!" Ralphie insisted.

"Ralphie! This is ridiculous! You're acting like the boy who cried wolf!" Keesha complained.

"Careful, Ralphie. If you keep crying wolf, it might attract a pack of actual wolves! Get it?" Carlos joked in response to what Keesha said.

"CARLOS!" The rest of the kids cried.

"All of this talk about murderers is starting to get annoying now." Wanda complained.

"This talk about serial killers is making me wish that I'd stayed home today." Arnold complained.

"Okay, children. Let's continue our nature walk, and no more talk about serial killers." Ms Frizzle instructed her students. The group resumed walking down the trail again as the occasional animals or birds appeared on either side of the path. After they'd travelled some distance down the trail, the group reached a right hand bend in the path. Ms Frizzle slipped on some loose rocks which caused her to fall down without anyone else apart from Liz noticing. Ms Frizzle was winded from the fall and so she didn't cry out to her students, who simply kept on walking without realising what had happened. Liz comforted Ms Frizzle as she sat up on the trail.

"Oh dear! I don't think they even noticed what just happened!" Ms Frizzle realised. Liz got out the first aid kit from Ms Frizzle's dress and put on a nurse's hat. Liz then got to work treating any injuries that Ms Frizzle might have. Meanwhile, the kids in Ms Frizzle's class walked quite a distance down the trail before they realised that their teacher and Liz weren't there.

"Hey, wait a minute! Where did Ms Frizzle and Liz go?" Dorothy Ann asked as she realised that neither her teacher or her pet chameleon were with the group of kids.

"Hey! She's right! Where did they go?" Carlos asked, alarmed at the disappearance of his teacher.

"Everyone keep calm. I'm sure there's an explanation for this." Keesha replied.

"Shouldn't we go look for them?" Arnold suggested.

"Oh no! We're all on our own!" Ralphie cried.

"That's strange. It's not like Ms Frizzle to disappear like this." Wanda replied.

"I wonder if something happened to her and Liz." Tim suggested.

"Oh dear! What on earth are we supposed to do now?!" Phoebe asked worriedly.

Meanwhile, Ms Frizzle's injuries had been treated successfully by Liz using the first aid kit. Ms Frizzle got to her feet as Liz closed the first aid kit.

"Thank you, Liz. It's a good job that somebody noticed what happened to me." Ms Frizzle said to her pet chameleon.

"We'd better go find the students! They're probably wondering where we've got too." Ms Frizzle said as she put away the first aid kit, then picked up Liz. Ms Frizzle walked down the trail in the direction that the group had been going before she fell down. Ms Frizzle walked down the path for a few minutes before somebody grabbed hold of her from behind.

"What the?!" Ms Frizzle said as she was caught off-guard by the sudden assault.

"You should have listened to that kid with the baseball cap. Not that it matters much now. Just know that you won't be my last victim!" Jackson Van Hayes announced as he put his hand over Ms Frizzle's mouth to stop her screaming. Liz was thrown clear of Ms Frizzle as she struggled with the serial killer. Liz looked at what was happening and she decided to try to warn the students about it. Liz set off as fast as possible down the trail in the direction the group was walking.

"Let me go!" Ms Frizzle tried to say but it was muffled by the killer's hand over her mouth, she lashed out at Jackson's leg with her foot. Ms Frizzle kicked Jackson's leg, he reacted by pushing her to the ground. Ms Frizzle leapt quickly to her feet and ran down the nature trail in the direction of her class.

"Bitch! Come back here!" Jackson growled as he began to chase after Ms Frizzle down the trail. Meanwhile Ms Frizzle managed to lose the killer in the immediate sense, although she could still hear him running after her. Ms Frizzle was out of breath so she decided to hide behind a nearby boulder.

"I hope Liz finds the children and warns them in time. I'd hate to see them hurt by this psychopath." Ms Frizzle said to herself quietly as she sheltered behind the boulder. Jackson soon caught up to where Ms Frizzle was hiding, he began to look around for where she was hiding as she obviously wasn't on the trail any more. The killer began to look behind some of the large trees nearby to see if Ms Frizzle was hiding behind them, she wasn't. Ms Frizzle peaked out from behind the boulder and saw Jackson a short distance away looking for her.

"I would never intentionally put the children in danger during a field trip." Ms Frizzle said quietly to herself as she continued to hide behind the boulder. Jackson might not have discovered where Ms Frizzle was hiding at all, if not for a duck approaching her behind the boulder. Ducks are known for many things, being airborne, amphibious, but not being quiet. Naturally, the duck began to quack at Ms Fizzle which immediately got Jackson's attention.

"No! Bad duck! Shoo!" Ms Frizzle tried to get the noisy waterfowl to go away, which went about as well as you'd expect without food, a bullhorn, or a twelve gauge shotgun. Jackson immediately realised that Ms Frizzle was hiding behind the rock. Jackson ran towards the boulder.

"I've got you now, bitch!" Jackson yelled as Ms Frizzle tried to run away but was tackled to the ground. Jackson grabbed Ms Frizzle's throat with his hands as he pinned both of her arms with his legs.

"Please, don't hurt my students." Ms Frizzle begged as Jackson began to strangle her.

"Ha! You wish! I'm going to kill every one of those little brats!" Jackson replied as he continued to strangle her. Ms Frizzle started to cry after hearing what the serial killer said.

"You'll regret it if you try to harm even one of them!" Ms Frizzle threatened.

"I don't think you're in any position to be making threats, you old hag!" Jackson sneered as he kept his hands clamped around Ms Frizzle's throat.

"You heartless monster!" Ms Frizzle cried as Jackson continued to strangle her.

"I think it's time for you to take chances! Make mistakes! And get really messy!" Jackson taunted as he reached into his jacket and took out a switchblade.

"How did you know I say something like that to my students?!" Ms Frizzle asked incredulously.

"Because I already know everything about you and your students! Even your pet chameleon!" Jackson replied as he began to slash and stab at Ms Frizzle with his switchblade. Ms Frizzle began to scream as blood started to pour from the many wounds on her body caused by Jackson and his switchblade.

Meanwhile, the students from Ms Frizzle's class were starting to get worried about where she was. Liz suddenly came running up to the kids.

"Hey, look! It's Liz!" Ralphie pointed to the chameleon as she arrived in front of the group of children.

"I wonder what she's doing here?" Arnold thought out loud. Liz began to make urgent gestures in the direction that she'd arrived from.

"What's she saying?" Carlos asked.

"I don't know, but she's making a lot of gestures." Wanda replied.

"I think she's upset about something." Phoebe suggested.

"Whatever it is, it must be something urgent." Tim said.

"What's going on, Liz?" Dorothy Ann asked Liz who continued to make gestures in the other direction.

"Yeah, what's wrong?" Keesha asked Liz who carried on making gestures. Suddenly, the kids heard a woman's screams coming from some distance away within the woods.

"Hey! What was that?!" Arnold asked as the group of kids noticed the disturbing noises coming from elsewhere in the forest.

"It sounded like a woman screaming." Dorothy Ann realised as she listened to the noise.

"Well, that's not good." Carlos replied.

"Somebody must be in trouble! We should go help them!" Phoebe suggested.

"That sounds like it's urgent!" Wanda agreed.

"I wonder if an animal attacked somebody." Keesha suggested.

"Well, something's definitely going on." Tim said.

"It's over this way!" Ralphie pointed in the direction the scream came from. Liz and the children ran in that direction until they came to the boulder where Jackson Von Hayes attacked Ms Frizzle. The corpse of their teacher laid on the ground with blood pooling around it.

"MS FRIZZLE!" The children cried out as they began to cry after seeing what happened to their teacher. The kids in the group fell to their knees as they mourned their dead teacher.
