Mini Episode #2: A Piece of My Mind
Day 3, 7:00 AM
Morning light shone from the windows of the dance practice room. The lights were off, so pretty much everything still looked bright.
Ryder sat on the floor by the window with a phone in his hand, looking as if he was texting someone. He was typing up a message on his phone. It said:
"Hey, May! Hope you're doing well so far! Pretty sure you've seen the episode last night, right?"
He sent it, waited for a response. It took about half a minute till he finally got a reply.
"Yeah! Honestly, you two did it really weird in a funny way… lol! I feel bad for you having to team up with Toxa out of all people. I swear, if I were the veteran instead of her, I wouldn't really want you to belt so high for a Bass. XD"
Ryder let out a chuckle as he read May's message. He really did miss her after all what happened last season. He genuinely had fun competing with her and never regretted talking to her in the earlier times of that season.
"So… I see my name there." a familiar voice called out behind him.
Ryder nearly jumped in shock as he saw who it was, but only groaned.
"Ugh, what do you want?"
"You and May are talking about me? How cute. Shame that she was never a veteran though, probably because no one liked her."
"What the hell are you talking about?"
"Let me see that." Toxa retaliated, attempting to grab Ryder's phone.
"Hey, hands off!" He swatted her hand away. "Ever heard of invading someone's privacy?!"
"Yes, I have heard, but I have the right to know because I should've known that you two are talking about me behind my back!" Toxa retorted at him.
Ryder could only scoff and roll his eyes with disgust. "How could any veteran not talk about you? You did a bunch of shit last season and I'm not gonna be surprised if you'll be roping some of the newbies into whatever you're planning to do!"
"Now that's where you don't invade my privacy."
"That's not privacy!" Ryder snapped as he placed his phone back on his pocket before Toxa could even get a hold of it. "That's called teaching you a damn lesson!"
...
Eerie silence ensued among the two, until Toxa began laughing menacingly, confusing Ryder entirely.
"What?"
"All of this?" she stifled up her laughter. "Coming from a boy who attempted to rose into fame by creating a YouTube account, flopped, and ended up competing in this series, thinking that he'll flop again."
Ryder balled up his fists. "Now you're invading even more! I have no idea how did you know all of that. I literally almost never said anything about that last season. At least I have faith in myself because in doing good while you just..."
"Just what?"
"Forget it. I hope you're gone." Ryder dismissed, leaving the dance practice room, trying to process everything that happened for less than ten minutes.
