Transformers Prime: No Autobots Are Idiots.
Chapter 16: Lightbounder.
(Transformers Prime Universe #192,394,596,203,495,867,019,183, Thursday, June 3rd, 2010, third person POV...)
Before the civil war happened, Lightbounder was one of the top-graded students in the Academy of Science and Technology.
She wanted to be one of the many in millions of stellar cycles to make Cybertron's future all the brighter.
She was considered to be one of the most intelligent dedicated workers of the dying hours of the Golden Age, right alongside the scientists that would respectively become Autobots and Decepticons.
Of course, one day after graduating, the Civil War happened, and she joined the Autobots.
Because of her decades of experience, she got into the science and medical divisions.
She was even trained by Shockwave when he defected, alongside being taught medical work by Ratchet, Red Alert, Jetfire, Meltdown, and Hoist.
And now, millions of years later, Lightbounder was on Earth with Team Prime's newly upgraded numbers, and she was introduced to Smokeedge's unit, the other transformatted humans, and the other Autobots who came to Earth after surviving the Great Exodus, surviving Decepticon attacks, and surviving Energon starvation without resorting to cannibalism or thievery.
(Autobot Outpost Omega One, third person POV...)
In the base, Smokeedge was helping Bumblebee stay calm while Ratchet used a pair of pliers to remove a sharp jagged rock jammed into the gears of Bumblebee's right foot.
A cyan femme bot stood patiently waiting for Ratchet's next orders.
Ratchet pulls out the rock with the pliers and asks, "Lightbounder, can you hand me that rag over there? I have to patch up this gash."
Lightbounder replies, "Sure, Ratchet."
Lightbounder takes the rag and gives it to Ratchet.
Ratchet manages to repair the gash in Bumblebee's pede.
Ratchet states before asking, "All right, all done. How does that feel, Bumblebee?"
Bumblebee moves his pede around and replies before asking, "Feels much better, Ratchet. How long should I stay off my pede in order for the repairs to settle in?"
Ratchet answers, "The rest of the day at most."
Bumblebee nods before lying back down on the medical berth.
Lightbounder asks, "Do you need help cleaning up, Ratchet?"
Ratchet answers, "Yes, please."
Lightbounder grabs 2 small metal canisters and handing them to Ratchet before doing her part in cleaning up.
Smokeedge then says, "Well, if there's nothing for me to do, I'll just be heading to my berth room to read a datapad or two to pass the time."
Smokeedge is about to start walking when Ratchet replies, "Yip-yip-bip! I need your help in adjusting the parameters and wires of our new computer terminals."
Smokeedge replies, "Very well."
Smokeedge goes to help Ratchet.
Just then, a male voice says over the commlink, "Ratchet, this is Jumpbee. As usual, no Decepticon activity and no signs of Energon again. Rendezvousing back to base at once."
Ratchet replies, "Understood, Jumpbee."
The line clicks.
Mosssound then comes up and says, "The Space Bridge's Energon fuel line is cleaned and reenergized."
Ratchet replies, "Good. You are dismissed for the day."
Mosssound nods and goes on to his berth room.
Smokeedge then stands up and says, "I'm almost done, Ratchet; just got a dozen gyro-wires to go, and the new computers are good to go."
Ratchet replies, "Excellent work, Smokeedge. I knew I could count on you as one of my many assistants alongside Lightbounder, Squallracer, and Luna Nova."
And so far, things were bland for the most part now that there were no Decepticons to fight, or even any more Autobot arrivals to welcome.
But Smokeedge and his forces knew that eventually, things will change: the Decepticons will return, Shockwave will be assigned to clone new Predacon clones as per his orders from Megatron while still operating as a spy – although how much longer he remains a spy is still open to debate – and sooner or later, the Autobots will have to employ their new resources for full out assaults on the Decepticons, both as full assaults and as guerilla strikes.
Smokeedge prayed that things wouldn't have to be desperate for the Autobot forces.
The End.
(Author's notes: See you all in chapter 17: Decepticon Freedom Fighters. And no, just because the title of the next chapter has Decepticon in it doesn't mean that the next OCs are Decepticons or Decepticon sympathizing Neutrals.)
