Transformers Prime: No Autobots Are Idiots.
Chapter 30: Neutrals.
(Transformers Prime Universe #192,394,596,203,495,867,019,183, Sunday, July 11th, 2010, Disklight's POV...)
Ever since the first day of the Great War, we've been following all sorts of rules.
Such as Neutral Rule #1: Avoid Decepticons, Autobots, Mercenaries, Quintessons, and any other Cybertronian wearing a badge.
Most would think it's that simple, but in reality, it's not.
When both Autobots and Decepticons are hunting you down, complete with the Decepticons looking to forcefully recruit you under threat of death, it's more than difficult enough to adhere to this rule.
But even if Primus won't forgive me for refusing to offer my services to the Autobots until today happened, I'm only serving my community.
And it's a small community with fourteen others.
Oh, and we had made friends with a human being.
I tell ya, humans are strikingly similar to Cybertronians in terms of their histories of wars, democracy, communism, tyrants, religious belief, magical practices, and generally just trying to serve their communities.
But putting my thoughts aside, we have a big problem.
Another blast hit the ground within two arms' reach of my left side, and I swerved in a sharp turn to avoid that blast.
I knew that what I was gonna do was going against Neutral rule number 1, but as my sire told me before he passed on to the Well of All Sparks, rules are meant to be broken. In any kind of war, neutral parties won't be able to stay neutral forever. Eventually, you'll have to choose a side that works the best for you. And you better choose carefully; you don't wanna end up choosing a side that looks more promising, only to wind up with the wrong crowd. Be strong, Disklight. Be strong enough to make the right choice, even if others will refuse to choose the right choice.
And I have to admit, stealing Energon cubes from Decepticon Energon mines was a bad idea, and eventually I was going to get caught.
And that's why I'm driving for my life.
For crying out loud, WHY didn't I freaking listen to Connectflicker, Coronalight, Graceheart, Blendglare, and any of the others?!
Today, I might've ended up falling into Decepticon hands and potentially getting executed if it wasn't for unexpected Autobot help.
The bulky green Autobot collided with the first pursuing Vehicon Trooper with enough force to make it flip through the air before landing on his roof.
Poor Decepticon scum won't be able to get back up from that one, if I read my up-to-date files on Vehicon Troopers correctly.
Eventually, the Vehicon Jet shot at me, making me transform to robot mode before deploying my lock-on missile launcher.
I got a target lock and I obliterated the jet with a single high-explosive missile.
I then switched back to vehicle mode with my gains and I was about to continue driving when someone called out, "Wait!"
I switched back to robot mode and I snarled, "What do you want, Autobot?!"
The Autobot in question, Bulkhead, if my memory is correct, asks me, "Where did you get that Energon? And where did you come from?"
I answered, "In order: I got this amount of Energon from a Decepticon mine I was scouting. And I come from Blazeflash's group of Neutrals."
The human accompanying the Wrecker, who is wearing a fully armed suit of armor for some reason, asks me, "A Neutral, as in a Cybertronian who refuses to align with either Autobots or Decepticons?"
I remarked with a small smile, "Smart kid."
Bulkhead then asks, "You're with Blazeflash?"
I answered, "Indeed I am, but she said for me to contact her and Optimus Prime if in the event our track record of being unseen by Decepticons goes to zero and thus forces us to join you guys."
Bulkhead remarks, "Whoa. That's deep."
And so, I along with Blazeflash, Connectflicker, Coronalight, Graceheart, Blendglare, Feraldagger, Photonbeam, Droptron, Thunderspin, Rollwise, Tempesthowler, Smokebringer, and Flameeater wound up traveling to Autobot Outpost Omega One, fueling up on Energon while the other Autobots took to scavenging more Energon from the Energon mine that led us to this moment.
Optimus then says to Blazeflash, "Blazeflash, we are sorry that we were unable to keep the agreement."
Blazeflash answers, "Actually, we had planned to join you Autobots if in the event we were ever discovered, had no other choice, started running low on Energon, all of the above on reasons why Neutral Cybertronians can't stay Neutral for long."
This made me a bit uneasy; Neutrals joining Autobots wasn't exactly common, but it did make them targets of both Decepticons and fellow Neutrals who feel betrayed. But considering the fact that Starscream betrayed our faction first by joining Megatron when he took over Trypticon Orbital Station, took control of and gained the ability to manipulate Dark Energon, and pretty much became his first lieutenant, let's just say that I realize now even in this instance, we don't have much of a choice.
And so, with time and deliberations, we became new Autobots.
But as for our other Neutral comrades who are still scattered across the world, let's just say even I can't speak for them.
The End.
