Smurfocalypse Chapter 56: The Forest Part 6 – The Knight Sweeper
Sweepy was very slowly making his way through the woods in comparison to the others. Because he wears the heaviest armor and carries the heaviest shield and weapon he moves slowly. He is very well protected, but at the cost of his speed and navigating the forest terrain was a little difficult in his armor while also carrying his long shield that is as tall as he is and probably weighs more than he does. Sweepy was doing well for himself work wise. Every Smurf needed his help cleaning out their chimneys after using their fireplaces in the winter. It felt good to be back to doing what he liked, but now he had to do something different. Sweepy had to use his skills in combat to aid Hefty again. Sweepy would surprisingly find nothing all that special for quite some time as he traveled. Whereas the others have come across some interesting things so far Sweepy was coming up with nothing until he came across a gruesome sight.
Sweepy would stumble upon what appeared to be the aftermath of a battle between an entire wolf pack and the demons. A large amount of demons had been wiped out by the pack, but in the end all fifteen of the wolves had been slain by means of a single slash across the throat. Even the pups of only a couple years of age lay dead, suffering the same fate as their older pack members no living thing was spared. Sweepy didn't even want to think of the demon that would have been powerful enough to wipe out an entire wolf pack.
"Like my work?" A voice said from within the brush. It spoke with an Indonesian accent.
A demon wearing grey and black tie dye tropical Smurf clothes stepped out of the brush and into a spot where the sun shined through the trees. It was carrying a bloody kris dagger. Sweepy just eyed the monster as it grinned bearing its pointy fangs.
"I'm going to do that to all of your friends next." The demon said before laughing in Sweepy's face.
Sweepy was looking frustrated behind his full helm, but appeared expressionless to the demon. Still the creature could sense it was intimidating Sweepy.
"Are you just going to stand there like a statue, or are you going to do something?" The demon taunted.
Sweepy raised his mace and shield.
"Come at me!" Sweepy said.
"I will teach you what happens when you invoke my wrath." The demon said.
The demon charged Sweepy with almost lightning speed before slashing his dagger across Sweepy's well placed long tower shield. Sweepy swung his mace, but was far too slow as the demon kicked up into the air off the shield and did a flip landing behind Sweepy.
"I wonder… Are you just as good at absorbing blows from behind?" The demon asked as he quickly dashed towards Sweepy's back and drove his dagger deep into Sweepy's armor before he could turn around. Sweepy turned with the dagger still in his armor ripping it out of the demon's hand as he turned to face the now unarmed demon.
"You're like a crab. Hard shell, one large weapon, and the meat inside the shell is delectable." The demon said licking his lips.
"Your words don't frighten me monster!" Sweepy said as he swung his mace towards his opponent.
The demon dodged the attack with another flip as he leaped high above Sweepy, and landed behind him to retrieve his dagger from the Smurf's armor. This time Sweepy was quick to turn around and swung his mace outward as he did nearly striking his swift opponent in the gut. The agile demon once again flipped backward to get distance from Sweepy before rushing in again. Sweepy held his shield up to conceal his entire body from the incoming attack and again he heard the dagger pierce his thick shield. Sweepy responded by swinging his mace into his opponent's ribcage sending the demon flying and landing in a heap of broken bones on the forest floor. Then much to Sweepy's horror the demon's skeleton loudly magically repaired itself, and the demon stood up.
"So you do actually know how to use that thing after all." The demon said.
Sweepy began to charge his opponent the fastest he could displaying decent speed for being weighed down so heavily. He tried to follow up his attack with another, but was much too slow to pull it off. The demon rushed Sweepy afterward, and began to slash his chest plate rapidly the blade tearing into the thick armor. It was as though it had some sort of magic, or enchantment in it as it was able to cut through armor with ease. What would Sweepy do if his armor were damaged to the point where he wouldn't be able to use it? All he's ever had to do is simply stand there in battle in this giant armor in which he is completely safe and fend off low tier demons with his mace. Sweepy was able to use his shield to end the armor shredding combo when he rammed it upside the demon's head. The heavy shield sent the demon to the floor where it rolled.
"So you have a pinch my little crab, but how many more times can you endure an attack like my last? Surely you are feeling a draft by now." The demon said before laughing.
Sweepy began to sweat. Adrenaline and fear was coursing through his veins as the battle with this horror continued, but now his armor wasn't completely protecting him any longer. Sweepy swung his mace downward at his opponent simply to mix it up, and the attack was dodged yet again. The demon rushed Sweepy and jabbed him in the stomach through his armor with the dagger Sweepy screamed out and dropped his shield which comically landed on the demon's foot causing him to say a word that isn't family friendly. Sweepy pulled the bizarre foreign weapon out of his body and threw it into the woods away from the battle and swung his mace again. The adrenaline was so intense he had yet to experience the true extent of the pain of his injury. His unarmed opponent could only use his unique agility to avoid Sweepy as he still tried to fight for his very life despite his injury. As they fought a war horn echoed throughout the woods causing the demon to stop.
"Looks like our time together has come to an end little crab, but next time we meet I will slice you open and eat your innards while you yet live and watch." The demon said before jumping up to the trees and disappearing.
Sweepy survived somehow, but his armor was badly damaged, and he has been stabbed. He had no idea how to even tell how deep he had been stabbed. The pain was all the same to him. He knew one thing was for certain. He had to get back to camp.
