"What do we do, oh my god-" Thea babbles, biting on her fingers desperately as she kneels next to Duke in the sand. "Mr. Chase," she wails, clinging to Duke's shirt. Duke stirs under her fingers and she looks down at him, relieved to see his eyes fluttering, awareness coming back to him little by little.

"Thea?" he forces out. "What- what happened-" He glances around, eyes squinting like he has a huge headache- which Thea assumes he must, after how Dagomon had slung him around. "Where's Andre?"

Thea whimpers a little at the sound of Duke's voice. "Dagomon took him," she cries, her nails biting in deeper to Duke's flesh. "I don't know what to do. Duke, please-"

"Our Digimon are too little, Thea," Duke breathes out. "I don't think there's anything we can do against a Digimon the power level of Dagomon. Not right now."

"So we just- what?" Thea demands, incredulous. "Let him die? Really? There has to be something, somewhere-"

"I can't think of anything," Duke says, massaging his temples. "We're all just too new to this whole thing, Thea. I'm sorry-"

"That's stupid! Mr. Chase always told me he was suspicious about your intentions, I always brushed it off because I thought I knew you, but I never thought you'd want him dead!" Thea leaps to her feet, running towards the area where Dagomon had disappeared with their teacher before Duke can even sit up fully.

"Thea!" he cries out. "No!" His fist drops once she's out of sight, hitting the sand and sending particles up into the air, pain startling up his arm from the impact. "Dammit! Stupid girl, making it impossible for me to keep her safe. The only thing Andre really expected of me when we came here." He groans and forces himself up onto his feet, staggering forward as he tries to regain some of the feeling in his limbs. "Damn thing did a hell of a number on me."

It's easy enough to follow the girl's footprints, as he doesn't know anyone else who runs peltmelt like she does, but when he reaches the ocean, there's no one in sight, and he finds himself frozen, staring out at the bleak, gloomy horizon. "No, dammit, Thea. No."

He clenches his hands into fists and digs his nails into the denim of his jeans, exhaling sharply. "THEA!" he yells, not caring any more if he should get caught here, or if Dagomon should come back for seconds.

In fact, if he brings Thea and Andre back with him, Duke things that sounds pretty good right now, actually. "ANDRE!" he continues, these thoughts rattling around in his mind. "DAGOMON!" he finally yells, after bracing himself for whatever may come. "COME GET ME, YOU SICK SON OF A BITCH"

From there, all he can do is step back, cling to his digiviice, and hope that he's not too late, that his teacher and fellow Chase U. Student still has some remaining life within them.
