Due to flight issues, Ricardo gets stranded in Spain for longer than he anticipated. He's a little frustrated, but there's really nothing he can do about it, so he tries to enjoy his time there as best as he can. He's supposed to return to the States soon, and he hopes that trip goes a lot smoother than this, especially for Alicia's sake, but right now, he's really starting to doubt it.

He rests his forehead against the wall and breathes, trying to remain calm. Things could be worse. They're not great, but there isn't a lot he can do, in this moment, to fix them, so he tries not to completely spiral. "Dammit," he breathes through his teeth, squinting into the early morning sun as he tries again, to call the airport, figure out alternatives.

"I'm not sure what to do," he confesses to Alicia via video chat that afternoon. "Or how long I may have to stay here. I just... I want to get back and wrap things up in Egypt like I was supposed to."

She listens sympathetically and then, with no real idea or solutions for him, she tries to distract him. "Hey, Andre, look, it's Daddy," she says cheerfully, holding up their son to the small screen. "He just woke up from his nap a few minutes ago."

Ricardo is struck dumb, looking at the little boy. "He's grown so much," he breathes out, it striking him all over again, everything he's missing while here. Not that he regrets everything he's done while here, the good he's trying to accomplish for wrestling around the globe, but seeing Andre in Alicia's arms, how he stares up at her, waving his pudgy fist around, drives it all home, what he's sacrificing for this. "Alicia..."

She smiles wearily into the camera. "Yeah, he is. My little pudge monster," she says fondly, pinching the baby's cheek gently. She turns her focus back onto the camera and exhales slowly. "Please just do your best to come home as soon as you can, Ricardo. I miss you. He misses you," she adds, bumping the baby on her knee pointedly.

"I will," he swears. "I'll do my absolute best to be home as quickly as I can."

He hangs up a couple minutes later, mind still racing. He's not sure if he'll be able to get a flight out, but god, he has to try. So he will, and he will, and he will, until something finally goes his way here.

He has to be home with his wife and son as close to his schedule as he can accomplish it. Needs it.
