"What do you think of Lancaster?" Ricardo asks, smiling over at Sofia as they walk hand in hand through a hiking trail not far from the house.

"So far, it is very charming," she says. "Anywhere you are, I am content, mi hijo." She smiles up at him. "I can only imagine how it must feel for you- you were planning on king us all to Egypt for so long, and now we are here."

"It's not quite the change I was hoping for," Ricardo admits, swinging their hands between each other as they avoid a couple of kids running pelt melt down the path. "But it is very different from the southern states. I can't promise I'll never want to leave here, we know how bad my wanderlust can be sometimes, but I believe it's a good place for Alicia, Andre and the new baby. That will tide me over or awhile."

Sofia smiles at him. "You are a good father, Ricardo. I couldn't be more proud of you."

He smiles back. "Gracias, Sofia. I truly would be lost without you. We all would be, you know that, right?"

She smiles, lifts his hands up to her face to kiss them. "I feel the same for you, mi hijo. My life would be very lonely and boring without you, Alicia and Andre. Now, let's finish this walk, I am getting hungry."

"Me too," he laughs, squeezing her fingers and leading the way. "Alicia is probably as well, so we should start spitballing what sounds good for supper tonight."

"As long as you don't mention spitballs with food," Sofia says with a faint shudder and Ricardo barks out a startled laugh.

"Si, madre," he says, grinning as she casts a fond look his way.

When they get home, Alicia and Andre are napping, Alicia on the couch, Andre in his playpen. Ricardo checks on the baby before kneeling over Alicia, resting one hand on her steadily growing bump. "Hey, Foxy," he breathes as she blinks wearily. "Just letting you know Sofia and I are home. Continue sleeping, we're going to make supper and I'll wake you as soon as it's ready." He leans closer and kisses her on the forehead, smiling tenderly down at her before turning to join Sofia in the kitchen.

She hums and tucks herself in deeper to the couch cushions, relaxing to the soft sounds of Ricardo and Sofia preparing supper in the other room. She smiles and curls her fingers over her stomach, enjoying the soft, barely noticeable flutters of the baby growing inside of her. "I love you already," she murmurs to the sensation, eyes blinking slowly, lazily, before falling shut as she relaxes into sleep once more.
