Chapter 8: SETTLING IN
The Katana fleet, a legendary fleet of two hundred Dreadnought-class heavy cruisers, was now under the control of the Jedi Order. The Jedi worked tirelessly to restore the ancient ships, using their combined skills and the Force to repair and upgrade the vessels. The fleet became a symbol of the Jedi's independence and strength, a testament to their resilience and determination.
The Jedi adapted the interiors of the ships to suit their needs. They installed Force controls to prevent non-Force-sensitive individuals from hijacking the ships, but also a system of activation codes only know by high council. Meditation and lightsaber training rooms were set up, providing spaces for the Jedi to train and center themselves in the Force during missions. A plant room was also added to each ship, filled with a variety of flora from Tython. These rooms served as a connection to the living Force and also provided fresh food for the Jedi.
The ships were painted in a color that reflected the Jedi Order. After much deliberation, they chose a deep blue, symbolizing peace, wisdom, and loyalty. The color was also a stark contrast to the red and black often associated with the Sith. The Jedi insignia was marked in white on each ship, proudly declaring them as part of the Jedi Order fleet.
While the restoration of the Katana fleet was underway, the Jedi also took the time to explore Tython. The planet was a treasure trove of natural beauty and Force-rich locations. The Jedi discovered various species of flora and fauna, some of which were unique to Tython. They also found ancient ruins and artifacts, remnants of the planet's rich history.
The Jedi's agricultural efforts on Tython were also progressing well. The planet's fertile soil and strong Force presence allowed for the growth of a variety of crops. The quality of the food produced was significantly better than what was imported on Coruscant. The Jedi were able to enjoy fresh, nutritious meals, further enhancing their connection to the living Force.
The most significant discovery, however, was a crystal cave the size of the Ilum one. But what was even more surprising was that the cave seemed full of pontite crystals, the rarest form of Adegan crystals.
The knights who found the cave were in shock. One of them, a young Jedi named Alsten, rushed back to the temple to inform the Council. He burst into a high council meeting, out of breath and eyes wide with excitement.
"Sorry to interrupt, Masters," he panted, "but we found a cave full of crystals bigger than the ones on Ilum on the other side of the planet. And we think they are Adegan crystals, specifically pontite."
The Council was stunned into silence. After a moment, they all hurriedly left the meeting room, following Alsten to the site of the discovery, Yoda leading the way.
The awe on their faces was evident as they arrived at the site. Even before entering, they could feel the presence of the crystals. The Force was strong here, humming with energy and potential. The sight of the pontite crystals, shimmering with an ethereal multicolored glow, left them in wonder. Overwhelmed, Yoda sat in the cave to meditate, joined soon after by the rest of the Council.
After their meditation, the Council discussed what to do with the crystals. Windu thought that the pontite crystals, being so rare and making the most powerful lightsabers, wouldn't be suitable for Jedi below the Master title.
Plo Koon noticed that certain crystals didn't have a Force presence, similar to most crystals found in Ilum and were therefore, probably suitable to Jedi below the master title.
However, it was Revan who settled the debate.
-"Adegan crystals like pontite, choose their own Jedi." he said.
-"The Force has provided these crystals for us. We should trust in the Force in how to use them."
The Council agreed with Revan's words. The discovery of the pontite crystals was another gift from the Force, a sign of their path forward.
Meanwhile, the engineers were working on the planetary shield. The shield was ready and tested before being deployed to the whole planet through relays that had been installed at key points.
They discovered that the shield would be stronger and last almost indefinitely if powered by Adegan crystals, especially pontite.
The engineering team abandoned the idea as those crystals were so rare, it was impossible to find enough to power the 20 relays needed to cover the entire planet.
Little did they know, a cave full of pontite had just been discovered.
The Council was grateful for the Force's gifts of course, but they were also concerned.
If the Force believed they needed all these gifts - a brand new planet, a new home, the Katana fleet, and the rarest and most powerful lightsaber crystals - what kind of challenges were they going to face?
The Force had provided, but what was it preparing them for?
