Chapter 106
Hiccups POV:
It's been two weeks since I met up with the wingmaidens and got Sapphires hatchlings back from them and I am happy to say that in that time not much has happened. I'd finally got around to building a dome to hold my lion gauntlets with its lock looking like two lion heads next to each other with the lock being right between them. Aside from that Gobber had made more requests for gronkle iron since the orders had piled up over the time I was away so I spent a lot of time at the forge helping him fill out orders. I admit it felt like old times working alongside Gobber again and as strange as it may sound I'd come to miss his bad jokes that at times were inappropriate earning him a slap from some women who were passing by and his bodily odor that could knock out a fully grown gronkle. There were a few differences with the work now though since people had been asking me for custom jobs like making a weapon in a specific way or to give it certain engravings. These were mainly requesting from husbands whose anniversaries were coming up or were on the day and they'd forgotten to get their wife something. In these cases, they'd sometimes beg me to take them to my private armory and let them pick something out to give to their wives and on one occasion the wife found out and asked me to forge her a new mace that she could use on her husband. He's been camping out in the woods ever since but who could blame him since his wife had a reputation for being someone no man under any circumstances should anger if they valued their ability to reproduce.
Besides that, I'd also been observing my new razorwhips who'd settled in well to their new lives with their parents and other dragons. Archer much to my relief has gone completely against his nature of harming his hatchlings and has taken on the role of a protective and supportive father when it came to his hatchlings and even lead them through some low-level obstacle courses to help them practice their flying. It warmed my heart to see that since back when I was younger and still living on Berk I'd have loved to have a father like that but you can't change the past. As for how they were with settling in to their new home they mostly slept with their parents in their nests within the stables but it wasn't uncommon for me to wake up from time to time with at least one of them sleeping at the foot of my bed. The reason for this is they'd pretty much taken up the mantle of my own personal bodyguards, which I found to be both a blessing and a curse. A blessing because when I visited Berk they kept some of my more annoying fans away from me and annoying since they followed me around nearly everywhere I went when I was on my island. Their parents were a little help but they had their own duties to perform so they must've figured this to be a good way to keep their little ones out of trouble while they fulfilled their responsibilities.
My new razorwhips weren't the only ones I'd been spending time with however since I'd also taken a bit of time to enjoy some quality time with my animals. This quality time included running through the woods with my wolves, racing through the jungle grounds with my jaguars, climbing trees with my monkeys, sitting down and reading in my desert gazebo with Nylene resting her head in my lap as I read out loud, swimming in the waters with Kal, racing Phlegon and Aylen through the grassy fields, helping Plutarach keep the other griffins in line, testing Amr's abilities in the desert but he preferred to be alone which was expected and finally there's Adal and Maelstrom who'd been overjoyed when I'd begun spending time with the wolves. I mostly played fetch with them and the other wolves but I'd also gotten the chance to study how Adal was progressing as a wolf in general. I'd say he was growing up into a noble wolf that would no doubt be a great addition to the pack but the one thing that kept me wondering was if he'd have any abilities that would make him stand out from the pack since he is the son of Fenrir but I doubt he'd be causing the apocalypse.
During this time of peace, I was able to do something I'd meaning to do for a while but always got sidetracked with something happening like trouble on my island, Gobber needing help, a new idea coming to me that I needed to get down and other such things. Now however I was finally able to test out all the crystals on my god made weapons and I was beyond impressed with what they could do while also making me pity anyone I used these powers against. I went through a lot of the charged-up crystals to figure the affect they had on the weapons but it was no big deal since I'd been saving them up for months. I was glad to finally empty them out a bit and have the chance to do some training with my god made weapons while enjoying a rare time of peace for me.
I wish things were truly peaceful but these past few days something very strange has been happening that I feel might be of concern if how my dragons have been acting is anything to go by. They've been acting edgy lately as if something bad is coming and it wasn't just my regular dragons that are native to the archipelago but also my foreign dragons including my sandphantoms and they're magic. The thing that made me the most nervous however were my bewilderbeasts and Volcana have been acting up as well and that makes me nervous but the thing is I couldn't figure out why they'd been like this. Along with my dragon's strange behavior other odd things have been happening around the waters of Berk and my island aside from multiple tidal classes showing up way out of their own territory or habitat. The waters have been rougher than ever, there have been seaquakes that have become more common every passing day and for the passed three days whirlpools have been popping up randomly. These problems had done some damage to Berks ships but luckily there haven't been any casualties but I wanted to figure out what's been going on before there were any casualties.
This brings us to where I am now and that's walking through one of my portal doors to see the defenders of the wing who might just have the answers to my questions with all of their dragon knowledge. I entered the portal room and looked around at all the portals to so many different places and smile at the memories of the good times I had in these lands. I chuckled at the memory of how when I go to a place hoping to have a nice relaxing vacation only to get mixed up in some crazy adventure that ends up making me walk away with thanks from the gods or more riches for my vault. Then I'd have to deal with my new fans all wanting to talk to me about my latest adventure, to be honest at times I felt the reason the gods gave me my own island just so I'd be able to have some peace after an adventure. I shook out of my thoughts and made my way towards the portal leading to the village of the defenders of the wing and made my way through. I smiled as the feeling of the suns warmth landed on my face as I looked around at the village of people I'd come to call my allies. It was then I saw Throk making his way towards me smiling as he said.
"Hiccup Haddock, it's been a long time." I smiled back at him.
"Yes it has Throk though I wish my reason for visiting now was a little more pleasant." He frowned.
"What is wrong?"
"I'll tell you later but right now I need to speak with Mala."
"She's currently dealing with peoples problems with her husband at her side."
"Are they still treating each other as if their worlds revolve around their love for each other?" He chuckled.
"As impossible as it may sound they've actually gotten worse since their wedding." I chuckled.
"I find that hard to believe Throk but we'll have to go over that later after we discuss the reason I came here."
He nodded and led me to the town center where I'd once stood trial when I first came here and they assumed I was a dragon hunter working for Viggo. Sitting on the same throne as before was Mala, queen of the defenders of the wing and sitting on an identical throne next to it was none other than her beloved husband and king Dagur of the Berserkers. I smiled at the sight of my two allies who each played a key role in the defeat of Trader Johan and Krogan and in doing so helped destroy the dragon hunters and their empire. I rolled my eyes when I noticed the way Dagur looked at Mala lovingly while holding her hand but I could tell he'd like nothing more than to hold her in his arms. I watched as they listened to the problems of one of the villagers before giving them advice and sending them away. It was then Dagur noticed me and stood up smiling with his hands out as he yelled.
"BROTHER!" I smiled at him and made my way forward as I said.
"Good to see you to Dagur." He walked up and hugged me as he asked.
"What brings you all the way out here?"
"Well besides wanting to come visit some of my old allies I was hoping to get talk to Mala about something concerning my dragons." Mala walked up at that moment.
"It is good to see you Hiccup Haddock but surely your questions can wait till after we've all enjoyed a lunch together and caught up a bit." Before I could reply someone behind me said.
"I'd have to agree with you on that Mala." I turned around and saw none other than Heather standing there with Windshear behind her. "It's good to see you again Hiccup." I smiled at her.
"It's nice to see you to sister, anything new with you." Before she could reply Mala clapped her hands getting our attention.
"All these questions can wait till we're all sat down at a table with plates of good food served and waiting." I smiled at her.
"Now that sounds good."
10 minutes later
We were all sitting down at a table with a ton of tasty looking food served on it with Heather sitting to my left, Dagur sitting across from me was Dagur and across from Heather was Mala. I took a bite out of my chicken leg as Dagur asked.
"So brother, any new life risking adventures come up with you." I swallowed my chicken and looked at him.
"Yeah I got pulled into another adventure in Greece again." He shook his head as he looked down.
"Again?" I nodded. "I swear those Greeks really need to deal with their own problems and not just wait for someone to come by and deal with it." He then raised an eyebrow. "Why don't just let them deal with this problem themselves?" I shook my head.
"I can't turn away from those in need and in this case if I did then it would mean the world would be in major trouble." Mala replied.
"What type of threat could endanger the whole world exactly and I can tell by the look in your eye that this threat was like nothing you've ever faced before." I sighed before smiling and turning to Dagur.
"Looks like you married a woman who's as good at reading people as she is with a sword Dagur." He smiled at me before taking Mala's hand and kissing it.
"Those are just two of the many things I love about her." She blushed as I rolled my eyes before Heather asked.
"So what was this great Threat Hiccup?"
"I doubt you've heard about him but my fight was with Cronus." As soon as the words left my mouth Mala choked on the bread she was eating before Dagur patted her on the back getting the bread out before she looked at me and asked.
"Did you just say Cronus, as in the Greek king of the titans Cronus who was said to have eaten his own children?" I simply nodded. "But he was said to be imprisoned in the darkest pits of Tartarus." I nodded.
"He was until the Furies broke him out to aid him in conquering the world by enslaving the people and bringing down the gods."
"But why would they do this?"
"Apparently they got tired of simply being the gods assassins that were rarely ever used these days so they made a deal with Cronus." Before she could reply Dagur said.
"Um excuse me not that this doesn't sound interesting but who the heck is Cronus?" I turned to him and sighed.
"In order to tell you that we need to go back to the beginning when Titans roamed the earth." He nodded. "Cronus was the son of the titans Gaia and Uranus and also the god of time who feared a prophecy that he'd be overthrown by his own son and it was this fear that drove him to devour all of his children." I could see both Dagur and Heather were both horrified at this. "Fortunately Cronus's wife Rhea was able to prevent her final son Zeus from suffering this fait by hiding him on the island of Crete under the watch of Gaia and the goat that nursed him named Amalthea who both raised him when his mother needed to be with Cronus to keep him from suspecting anything, all while nurtured his desire to free his siblings from his father." I took a sip from my drink. "When Zeus was fully grown he freed his siblings who would join him in becoming the Olympian gods before he banished his father to the darkest pits of Tartarus where they hoped he'd remain for all eternity." Heather then said.
"Alright that's interesting but why didn't the gods deal with him themselves."
"He discovered a powerful relic that made it impossible for the Olympians to even get near him or the furies."
"So they called you in to deal with him?" I nodded.
"I learnt that they were working on something to ensure he stays locked up this time but they needed me for it to be used." Dagur then asked.
"But why you brother?"
"The only thing that could allow Cronus to be imprisoned again is my star sword and besides that I have friends in Greece who needed my help." He nodded.
"So what happened when you got to Greece?" I sighed and began my tale about what I did in Greece.
1 hour later
I just finished doing a demonstration of the new abilities my star sword could do and I could tell they were all impressed with what it could do. My tale had gathered quite a crowd when it began and I could tell they were all impressed with my swords new abilities since they were staring at me. I couldn't blame them though since I was able to defeat to tell some of them didn't believe I could beat a titan with power over time. My reason for demonstrating my star sword wasn't to prove my point though but because Dagur had begged me for a demonstration when I told them about my meeting with Gais but I just told him to wait till after the story. I looked around at the faces of everyone before taking a sip of my drink as Mala walked up and said.
"You truly do live an amazing life Hiccup Haddock."
"Trust me Mala it may be amazing but it gets old really fast and at times a guy just wants to give it all up for a nice peaceful life." Heather replied.
"Careful what you wish for Hiccup." I nodded.
"I know but it's how I feel at times." She nodded as Mala said.
"Not that catching up with you hasn't been enjoyable Hiccup but you said you had questions you were hoping I could answer." I nodded.
"Yeah, something's been happening around my island with the dragons including my bewilderbeasts and it has me worried."
"Well what's exactly wrong?"
"They're acting skittish as if something bad is coming." She rubbed here chin.
"Has anything odd been happening around the islands?"
"Well there have been seaquakes that are becoming more common every passing day along with a few whirlpools popping up." She rubbed her chin.
"Well it's possible your dragons are just a little jittery because of these sea quakes which might be caused by the land below the waves adapting to the newest section of your island."
"Then why didn't the land act the same way when my islands other sections came in?"
"Perhaps its location is what's causing it." I nodded.
"You're right Mala, it's just when my dragons act like this I get a little worried about things."
"Rest assured Hiccup that I doubt this is something you need to worry about." Dagur then said.
"There is something to worry about though brother." I raised an eyebrow. "Turns out a few dragon hunters were able to escape after the battle on Berserker Island and now they've started to resurface."
"Are they going to be a problem?" He shook his head.
"I doubt it since they've only got enough of a crew for one of their ships plus word around the northern market is they've been trying to recruit new members but nobody wants to join up with them because they're afraid to go up against you."
"Afraid of going up against me?"
"Hey you've gained quite a reputation as one of the most fearsome warriors around plus you have a Bewilderbeast under your command so its no surprise people wouldn't join them because of you." I nodded.
"I'll keep an eye out for them though since a lot of small problems grow into major problems if you don't take care of them when they're first beginning." They nodded before I stood up. "Well guys it's been nice catching up with you but I better get home before my dragons get worried." They all nodded before we said our goodbyes and I entered my portal home.
3 days later
It's been three days since I met up with the defenders of the wing along with the Berserkers and these days I've been both worried and busy. Despite Mala telling me that the seaquakes are nothing to worry about I'd still been worried about them if my dragons still acting like something bad was any indication. Along with this I'd also been doing some research on the dragon hunters who'd escape by asking around in the northern markets. From what I was told they're a group of twelve men and a commander who wore a red vest and lower tunic like the old commanders of the dragon hunters. Along with that they only had one of their large ships and a small amount of weapons including a few dragon nip arrows. They hadn't been able to do much when it comes to making money since they didn't have that many clients after I took down their last dragon auction making people nervous to attend the auctions or even do business with them. Despite all this information showing me how hard a time they were having reestablishing their business I knew that it just made them all the more dangerous as they'd be more determined than ever and I wouldn't put it past them to try and take me down just to prove a point to their clients that they didn't need to worry about me.
Now I was enjoying a peaceful walk alone through the emerald green hills of the Irish section of my island where the crystal cave was while wearing nothing but a pair of brown pants. I took in a deep breath and collapsed down to the ground with a smile on my face as I remembered the peaceful times I enjoyed in Ireland after taking down so many beasts that plagued the land. I looked up at the sky and watched as the clouds went by while the only sound to fill my ears were in the distance making this all the more relaxing. I smiled and said.
"I needed this time to myself to clear my head and forget about my worries."
I closed my eyes and enjoyed the feeling of the sun on my face slowly falling asleep until a shadow fell on me. I opened my eyes and saw what looked to be a dragon hunter dressed in a zippleback vest holding a mace above his head about to bring it down on me but before he could I raised both my legs and kicked him in the chest sending him flying back while dropping his mace. I quickly stood up while looking around for any more hunters. I saw two more charging towards me from the cliff but it was then I felt the familiar weight of my star sword fill my empty hand bringing a smile to my face. I quickly pierced the ground with my sword and focused on the glowing green crack that formed making it rush towards them. I smiled as they stepped on it before branches burst from the ground and began cocooning them before becoming petrified leaving them trapped as they fell to the ground. I smiled before turning around to see the guy who tried to mace me groaning as he sat up while rubbing his chest. I walked up to him with my sword in my hand and put my right foot back on his chest before pushing him back down to the ground and using my foot to keep him pinned as I pointed the tip of my blade at his head.
"Who are you and what are you and those men doing here?" He looked up at me noticing the blade before he glared up at me. "You can either answer to me or you can answer to my sword." He gulped.
"We were sent to capture you and bring you to our commander."
"Your commander?" He nodded.
"He just told me we'd have an easier time if we captured you but didn't say why."
"Where is your commander?"
"He's back on the ship just off the coast of this island while me and the men came on a small lifeboat." I nodded and slashed my sword across the ground next to him before roots grew out and began wrapping around him.
"I'll deal with you and your friends later." I walked away to find Toothless so I could begin my attack.
10 minutes later
My dragons and animals were on high alert when they heard about the hunters being near the island. They immediately began patrolling looking for anyone who'd invaded with Scorch, Coal and Champ dragging the already captured hunters down to the dungeon until I could deal with them later. Now I was in my regular armor on Toothless and we were up in the air searching for their ship to deal with these hunters. I used my eagle eye to look for any sign of their ship but was coming up empty until my eyes landed on a large hunter ship. I smiled at the sight knowing this was the ship we'd been searching for as I released my Stormcutter axe. Toothless looked back at me and crooned in confusion when I steered him to a stop. I just patted the back of his neck and said.
"Don't worry bud, I'm just going to make sure these men don't go anywhere."
With that I stood up on his saddle and threw my axe making it spin rapidly towards the middle mast of the ship. I smiled as it sliced through the bottom of the mast before it collapsed to the side making the ship rock while the sound of men screaming filled my ears. I held out my hand to summon my axe back and smiled as it turned around and began flying back towards me while slicing through the back mast in doing so. When my axe was back in my hand I made it go back into my arm as I looked down at Toothless and said.
"Bud, go get the Scauldrens and Coral to begin collecting the ship while I deal with the hunters." He growled. "Don't worry bud I'll be fine."
He just growled and nodded before I jumped off him while spreading out my wings to glide towards the ship. As I glided down towards the ship I used my eagle eye to get a good look at what was on the ships deck. I noticed there were three-miniature ballistae with one man manning each of them and two others looking at stomps that were once their masts while two men looked over the entire thing from the upper deck with one easily recognized as the commander by his red vest. I could tell by the looks on their faces they were trying to figure out what took off their masts. It was then I came to silently land on the back of their top deck and with their attention on the masts they didn't notice I was there. I smiled as I pulled my wings back in and slowly walked up behind the man who was standing behind the commander and took out a small speedstinger venom dart. I quickly grabbed him from behind while covering his mouth to prevent him from yelling as I stabbed the dart into his shoulder quickly paralyzing the hunter. I gently laid his unmoving body to the ground before slowly walking towards the commander and listened to him say.
"What in the world could that flying thing that took out two of our masts be?" He sighed. "I swear ever since that dragon rider showed up life has been nothing but tough and it's only gotten worse for us hunters since he took Krogan and Johan down." I smiled behind him.
"Maybe it's time you changed professions then."
He gasped and turned to face me only to get a kick to the stomach sending him over the edge flying down to the lower deck where he landed on another guy and gained the attention of the men. The men on the ballistae quickly turned to me and began firing rapidly but I was able to jump out of the way and hide behind the back mast. I took out three of my scimitar throwing knives while charging them with one of my green crystals making them give a light glow before I tuck and rolled from behind the mast as I threw the knives at the ballistae. I smiled at the sigh of each one hitting the stands the ballistae stood on before leaking acid burning through the wood making them useless. When they realized this they each took out their weapons, which were axes, maces and swords. I smiled and released my crystal spear as I said.
"Well this is going to be fun."
I the jumped onto the lower decks landing in front of one of the men who was wielding an axe. He brought it down towards my head but I quickly raised my spear using the pole to block the axe while twisting it so the axe was pulled from the guys hand as I kicked him in the stomach sending him flying back into the bottom of the middle mast unconcious. It was then two more charged at me with one wielding a mace and the other a sword. I charged at them with my spear ready before I stabbed the metal end into the deck and pole vaulted into the chest of the guy at the front. This knocked the air out of the hunter while sending him back into the guy behind him. Before either of them could get up I struck the one on top with the crystal end of my spear making the green crystal spread around his body while it also spread onto the guy beneath him. This left them both trapped and unable to do anything so they weren't going to be any more trouble for me.
It was then I heard a door opening and turned around to see the trapdoor leading to the lower deck had been pushed open with a hunter wielding a mace climbing out. I quickly began walking towards the guy who had just come out and began charging towards me with his mace raised high. When we met he brought his mace down at me but I swung my spears staff up to meet it knocking the maces ball to the expected the mace was redirected away from me and sent to the ground before I used the metal end to slice the staff cutting it off. The hunter looked at the stick that once served as his mace before looking back up at me only to be met by my staffs crystal end slamming into his side sending him sliding across to the ships railing as his body was slowly covered in crystal. I walked over to the trapdoor where another hunter was climbing up until he noticed I was standing over him. He looked up at me and gave sheepish smile but I just stamped down on his face sending him falling back down while also taking down the remaining two crew members with him. With the crew down below dealt with I began using my crystal spear to restrain the crewmembers who were still free while checking the ship for any dragons.
Once the ship was checked with no dragons being found and the crew members were all dealt with I returned to the top deck to question the commander who was just getting back up while groaning as I put my spear away. I walked up to him and grabbed him by the throat with my prosthetic and held him up while asking.
"Why did you have your men attack me on my island?"
"Can't breathe!" I dropped him as I released my khopesh and pointed it at him.
"Start talking!"
"You ruined everything for us when you took down our armada in the battle at Berserker Island." I gestured for him to continue. "After that we were barely able to escape with our one ship hoping that we'd be able to rebuild our empire but sadly thanks to news flying fast around the archipelago things haven't been easy." He sighed. "Ever since people heard about you they've all been too scared of making you their enemy to do any sort of business with us so life's been tough." He looked down. "We figured if we were able to capture you then not only would we be able to show people you weren't anything to worry about while also stealing the fortune you're rumored to have, lure your dragons in so we could kill them for their hides and take over your island." I glared at him.
"Well clearly that didn't work out for you."
"What else were we meant to do?"
"I don't know, maybe try and start a new business, perhaps try farming to sell home grown foods, hunting to sell pelts or even just fishing for products."
"We wouldn't become rich that way."
"But you also wouldn't find yourself at my mercy."
"Well now you have us at your mercy I don't know how this could be any worse." It was then the waters shook making the ship rock. "What's going on?"
"I don't know but I have the feeling it's going to be a big problem."
"Then I got to get my ship out of here." I released my crystal spear.
"You and your men aren't going anywhere." I then struck him in
It was then Toothless and my tidal classes flew up to the ship with Toothless landing on the deck and running up to me while growling.
"Don't worry bud I'm fine." I mounted him as I turned to the tidal classes who were now hovering above the water. "Get this ship to the island while me and Toothless see what's going on but keep an eye on it and make sure nobody leaves it." They growled and immediately began pulling the ship in as I turned to the commander. "I'll deal with you and your crew later." He just glared as I slammed the crystal end of my spear into his gut knocking the breath out of him while also making the crystal rapidly spread across his body trapping him before I collapsed my spear and mounted Toothless. "Let's check out what's going on bud." He growled and nodded before we took off.
One hour later
It's been an hour since I took down the hunters and in that time I've been busy with everything that's been going on. I'd transferred all the hunters to the dungeon where they'll stay until I could transfer them to the defenders of the wing for a trial. Toothless and I had also done a fly over the water where we nearly lost out lives when we were examining a whirlpool to try and figure out what was going on. We had been hovering over it for a few seconds checking it out before something burst out of the water and tried to take a bite out of us however we were able to dodge it but it was barely by the skin of our teeth. I got a glance of it before it sunk back down into the water but the only thing I was able to see was purple scales and knew it to be some kind of dragon I'd never seen before. This brings us to where I am now and that's in the dragon eye room with Toothless going through different combinations of lenses trying to find any form of information on the dragon I just saw.
I went through lens after lens, combination after combination trying to see what I could find and I admit I found a few new bits of information on some dragons I couldn't find anything on that species of dragon. I stared at the wall staring at the images that were being projected from the dragon eye. I had been studying every image thoroughly for any clue as to what type of dragon this was. I knew there was something I was missing and twisted the barrel of the dragon eye once more while pressing one of the tabs at the back before a dark purple image was projected against the wall but I saw there before the image appeared there was something else. I turned to Toothless and said.
"Give me a brighter burn bud." He did it and I watched as the image switched to a light purple image that brought a smile to my face. "That's the thing that attacked us." I turned to Toothless. "Keep that flame going bud." He gave a small nod as I turned back to the image. "Okay so this thing is known as a purple death, it's a tidal class, incredibly strong, no wings to fly and has a powerful fire blast similar to that of a boneknapper." I looked around at the other information. "Apparently in the past it's believed to be an offspring of the Midgard serpent and thought to be extinct when really in hibernation." I nodded my head. "Its presence is known to shake other dragons making them edgy." I turned to Toothless. "So that's why you've all been acting so strange these past few days." He just crooned as I turned back to the wall. "If this dragon is ever encountered do not engage but either sail away as fast as you can while praying to the gods that it does not take notice of you." I chuckled at this last bit. "Guess whoever got this information didn't know how to train dragons." It was then a loud roar echoed through the entire house. "I get the feeling our new friend has just fully woken up." Toothless just growled. "We better go greet him before he gets angrier." With that we ran out of the room to see what we were up against.
Five minutes later
To say the sight of the dragon shocked me would be a major understatement since the purple death was only slightly smaller than Oceanica and she was a fully-grown Bewilderbeast. Along with this the purple death had rough skin that reminded me of coral, one long nasal horn but the most eye-catching thing was the long tendrils that extended from under its jaw making them look like a beard. Now I was on Toothless and we were flying up to the head so I could talk to it and try to calm it down with words. It was then boulders were launched at its back gaining its attention but also making it angry with the ones who launched it. I looked past the purple death to see where they came from and felt like slapping my forehead at the sight of my dad leading a large group of Berks warriors in an attack on the purple death. I felt like slapping him when he signaled the men to fire the catapults again, which they did making the boulders fly and hit the head of the purple death but they just bounced off. I saw it was looking at Berk in anger but this just made me all the more determined to try and stop it. It was then we reached the front of its head and gained its attention as I yelled.
"HEY BIG GUY I KNOW YOU'RE PROBABLY PRETTY ANGRY WITH THOSE VIKINGS FOR BOTHERING YOU AFTER YOU JUST WOKE UP BUT I CAN GET THEM TO LEAVE YOU ALONE!" It just growled and glared. "I CAN TAKE YOU TO A NEST WHERE YOU CAN LIVE IN PEACE WITH OTHER ALPHA CLASS DRAGONS!"
It just glared at me with its blank yellow eyes and let out a loud that was so loud it threw us back a bit and when it stopped the purple death was looking down at us. It then opened its mouth let out a stream of flames that reminded me of the red death but luckily we were able to dodge it since I may be fireproof but Toothless wasn't as fireproof. We landed on a sea stack to take a short breather but sadly the purple death didn't like it as it quickly swam after us and raised its head glaring down at us. It opened its mouth to blast us but before it could Glacia burst from the waters and slammed her head into the bottom of the purple deaths head knocking it back. I had never been so happy to see her before but I didn't get much time to think about it before Oceanica rammed into the side of the purple death. I knew they had gained its attention but I also knew I couldn't let this battle go on for too long or it would mean major trouble for both Berk and my island if their fight got out of hand. It was then it hit me on how to calm things down but I needed something from my island in order to calm them down. It was at that moment an explosion on the back of the purple deaths head followed by a loud roar caught my attention. I looked to where the roar came from saw and saw Quake, Volcana and my winters wings charging towards the purple death and I knew this needed to stop soon or else there's going to be a catastrophe especially if my other dragons got involved but for now I'm sure they're keeping away knowing they couldn't risk getting between these fighting alphas. It was then I saw Volcana slam into the side of the purple death knocking it into a sea stack, which only encouraged me to get the thing that could end this faster. With that we took off back to the mansion but as we did I looked back at my dragons who were fighting the purple death and said.
"Stay safe my friends." And turned back to face ahead of me.
Nobodies POV:
The purple death looked around at the five Alpha class dragons that surrounded it with its blank yellow eyes studying each of its opponents looking for any weakness as they circled it. It took notice of Quake as he let loose multiple fire blasts at him so it dived below the waters in order to avoid the blasts. The blasts hit the water making steam rise from the water as the dragons stared down at the water where the purple death had vanished waiting for it to reappear out of the waters only for it to burst from the waters right underneath Quake. It looked ready to ram him but fortunately Volcana had his back and flew into the side of the purple death knocking it back into the water allowing Quake the chance to fly out of its reach. It was then Glacia charged into its back knocking it down towards the winters wings who extended his talons and used them to grab onto the purple deaths body before it began lifting it up. The purple death looked up at the dragon that was lifting it before letting out a stream of flames onto its body making all three heads scream in pain and drop it back into the water while the middle head let loose a stream of blue flames onto the body cooling the wound while the other heads shielded it from any attacks the purple death may try.
It was then Oceanica let loose one of her icy blasts towards the purple death while turning to the right as Glacia did the same on the opposite side forming an icy cage with ice shards pointing towards the purple death. The purple death looked around at its cage before roaring making the Alphas back up a bit while it let loose another stream of flames except this time it was aimed at the surrounding ice destroying its makeshift cage. The ice shattered but before the purple death could do anything Quake flew forward and slammed into the purple death knocking it back into the water. The purple death was quick to get back up ready to let loose another stream of flames but before it could do anything else the sound of a flute filled the air. This sound was a peaceful tune that brought the fight to a stop as the dragons turned to find the source of the music only to see none other than Hiccup Haddock on the back of Toothless with Coal and Gnaw each hovering next to him each holding a thunder ear that Hiccup was playing into making the sound louder. Hiccup didn't stop playing until the alpha's completely calmed down and stopped glaring at each other.
Hiccups POV:
I had gone back to my home to get the calming flute I had received from the Arabian gods for my services in saving their worshippers. I knew that if I were able to calm the purple death then I'd hopefully train it and get it to join my other alpha dragons and have it use its immense strength for good. I knew with the battle going on I'd have a hard time getting close to it let alone play it a song from my calming flute. It was then the idea to use my thunder ears came to mind and I ran to get Coal and Gnaw who were all too happy to carry my thunder ears in order to help stop the fighting. When we were outside and close enough I signaled my dragons to point the thunder ears towards the battle and once they were in place I brought my flute to my lips and let my music play. I watched as the alpha's slowly stopped fighting and slowly calmed down enough to turn their attention towards me as I kept playing until I could tell they'd all calmed down enough for me to try and train the purple death. I had Toothless fly towards it as I continued to gently play my calming flute to make sure it remained calm enough for me to try and train it. When we reached it I had Toothless hover in front of its face as I said.
"I KNOW YOU'RE ANGRY FROM WAKING UP AFTER SO LONG ONLY TO BE ATTACKED BUT WE DON'T HAVE TO FIGHT LIKE THIS!" It let out a low growl. "I'M SURE MY BEWILDERBEASTS WILL BE HAPPY TO HELP BUILD YOU A NEST OR ENLARGE THEIR OWN TO FIT YOU INTO THEIRS SO YOU'LL BE ABLE TO ENJOY YOUR DAYS IN PEACE WATCHING OUT FOR OTHER DRAGONS!" It growled and stared at me as I turned to my Alphas who had all gotten behind me and lowered their heads. "SEE WE'LL ACCEPT YOU AND YOU'LL BE ABLE TO MAKE NEW FRIENDS AND IF YOU ATTRACT ANOTHER PURPLE DEATH YOU'LL BE ABLE TO START A FAMILY AND DOESN'T THAT SOUND BETTER THAN FIGHTING MY ALPHA'S IN A BATTLE THAT'LL NO DOUBT END IN SERIOUS INJURY OR POSSIBLE DEATH OF NOT ONLY YOU BUT SOME OF MY ALPHA'S!" It stared at me for a few moments before it lowered its head as it let out a low growl making me smile and know I had it before I turned to Glacia and Oceanica. "GIRLS TAKE OUR NEW FRIEND HERE BACK TO THE NEST AND HELP HIM SETTLE IN WHILE I TALK TO THE PEOPLE OF BERK AND EXPLAIN WHAT'S GOING ON SINCE IT'S MORE THAN LIKELY THEY'RE GOING TO WANT AN EXPLANATION ON THE ALPHA RUMBLE YOU ALL HAD OFF THEIR ISLANDS SHORES!" They both nodded and growled before they began leading the purple death away as I turned to Volcana and Quake. "YOU GUYS GET BACK TO THE ISLAND SO YOU DON'T CATCH ANY MORE ATTENTION!" I turned to Freezer, Hailstorm and Tundra. "I'LL BE BY AS SOON AS THINGS HAVE BEEN DEALT WITH IN BERK TO CHECK ON YOUR WOUNDS BUT FOR NOW GET SOME REST ON YOUR GLACIER!" The heads growled and nodded before he flew off to return to his glacier while I turned to Berk as I sighed. "I better get this over with now since the longer I wait the longer my dad will yell at me." And with that I took off to Berk.
