Chapter 12: Lessons in Balance

In the tranquil gardens of the Jedi Temple on Tython, Revan and Obi-Wan stood facing each other, the former's gaze assessing the young Padawan.

Revan: "Obi-Wan, true strength in the Force comes from understanding and balance. You must learn to embrace your emotions, not fear them."

Obi-Wan, accustomed to the more traditional teachings of the Order, struggled with this concept. He had always been taught to control and suppress his emotions.

Obi-Wan: "I understand, Master Revan, but isn't there a risk? Emotions can lead to the dark side."

Revan: "Only if they are left unchecked. It's about finding harmony within yourself. Your emotions are a part of you, Obi-Wan. Acknowledge them, understand them, then you can release to the Force what you feel impede you. This is how you will find a deeper connection to the Force and eventually balance."

The lesson continued with Revan guiding Obi-Wan through a series of meditative exercises, focusing on emotional awareness then release rather than immediate suppression. As the young Padawan followed his master instructions, he felt an unfamiliar sense of peace and clarity.

Months passed as Obi-Wan's training continued with the young Jedi flourishing under Revan's guidance.

In the vast training grounds of the Jedi Temple on Tython, Revan watched as Obi-Wan practiced his lightsaber forms with a determination that spoke volumes of his growth.

The young Padawan moved fluidly through the sequences of Soresu, his favourite form, his lightsaber humming as it carved arcs of light through the air.

Revan: "Excellent, Obi-Wan. Your Soresu form has improved significantly. Remember, it's not just about defense, but also about waiting for the right moment to strike."

Obi-Wan nodded, sweat glistening on his brow. He switched to Djem So, his movements becoming more aggressive, yet controlled. He demonstrated a powerful understanding of the form, using his virtual opponent's energy against them in a series of well-placed strikes.

As Obi-Wan transitioned into Jar'Kai, wielding two lightsabers with remarkable skill, Revan couldn't help but feel a sense of pride. The Padawan's ability to adapt to different forms showcased his growing mastery and understanding of lightsaber combat.

Unknown to them, Qui-Gon Jinn had been observing from a distance. Seeing Obi-Wan's proficiency and the ease with which he handled the training, Qui-Gon felt a pang of regret. He had seen potential in Obi-Wan, yet he had chosen to focus on what he perceived as flaws.

Qui-Gon Jinn: (muttering to himself) "Well done, Jinn! You may have outdone yourself this time."

Revan, sensing Qui-Gon's presence, approached the Master.

Revan: "Master Jinn, nice to see you. How may I help you?"

Qui-Gon Jinn: "I …I was just watching. He is… impressive."

Revan: "Yes, he is," he replied with pride.

Revan: "Obi-Wan has indeed grown, not just in skill but in his understanding of the Force."

Qui-Gon Jinn: "I can see that. He has become more than I envisioned. I admit, I may have made a mistake."

Revan: "It's a testament to the Force's mysterious ways. Sometimes, the path we are meant to follow is not the one we initially choose."

Obi-Wan, finally taking a break, joined the two masters. He gave Qui-Gon a respectful nod. There was no bitterness in his gaze, only the calm assurance of a Jedi who had found his place.

Obi-Wan: "Hello, Master Jinn. I hope you are doing well."

Qui-Gon Jinn: "I am doing well, thank you Padawan Kenobi. Congratulations on your progress."

Obi-Wan: "Thank you."

Silence fell, and neither Revan nor Obi-Wan seemed willing to break it. Feeling embarrassed, Qui-Gon turned to Revan.

Qui-Gon Jinn: "I…I will leave you to resume your training then. Good day."

Revan and Obi-Wan: "Good day to you too, Master Jinn."

As Qui-Gon Jinn left, a thoughtful look on his face, Revan turned back to Obi-Wan.

Revan: "Let's continue, Obi-Wan. Remember, each form has its strengths and weaknesses. A true Jedi knows when to switch between them, just as they understand when to act and when to wait."

With renewed focus, Obi-Wan resumed his training, each movement a step closer to becoming the Jedi he was always destined to be, maybe more…(To be continued in chapter 13)
