Chapter 141
Hiccups POV:
Darkness, that was all I could see and nothing more even with the use of my eye of the dragon but I could feel warmth as a gentle breeze flew over me with the smell of peaches. I groaned as I opened my eyes and saw nothing but blue sky with a few leafs gently floating in the air as the wind carried them across the sky. I slowly pushed my body up and looked down to see I was no longer wearing my armor, just my pants and shirt along with my prosthetic. I rubbed a hand over my face to try and clear it and realized my eye patch was gone exposing the eye of the dragon but I decided it best not to panic. I slowly stood up and looked around and found I'd been laying on a grass mat outside on a flat floor with multiple large boulders around it showing the flat floor to be carved into the top. I walked over to the edge and my eyes widened at the sight since I couldn't see the ground as a sea of clouds blocked my view with the occasional mountaintop popping out of the clouds. Hiccup stared at the view in shock before he turned around only to jump back in fright at the sight of an woman standing right behind wearing a white dress that had flower patterns made of gold thread stitched onto it with her hair tied up in a tight bun. She gave me a gentle smile before turning around and walking away while giving a subtle gesture for me to follow so I did hoping I'd be able to handle whatever happened next.
She led me across a stone bridge to another carved indent in the top of another mountain but this one was a lot larger than the one I woke up in. In the center however was a platform with a short wall circling around it and in the center was a peach tree with orange leaves slowly falling from it. Surrounding this tree were a few tables made of stone with different people dressed in white and gold outfits sitting down and enjoying drinks with conversation. (AN: Watch forbidden kingdom and picture the place where the gods were all sitting.) When Hiccup set foot off the bridge however all went silent and turned to him making him feel uncomfortable until a woman at the front smiled and stood up as she spread her arms and said.
"Our guest of honor has awoken and joined us." She gestured to a seat next to her. "Please Hiccup Haddock, take a seat." I slowly walked over and sat down before she sat down smiling as she sipped from her white cup and turned to me. "I know you must have a great deal but I ask that before you ask them, enjoy tea with us." I nodded since I had this feeling of serenity that let me know I could trust her. "Excellent!" She gestured to one of the girls dressed like the one who came and got me. "Pour for him." She brought a golden flask and poured me a drink into a cup as conversation returned to the area.
Three hours later
It's been three hours since I sat down for tea and I had to say I'd been enjoying how peaceful it had been considering the entire adventure I'd gone through. It was during this time I'd learnt who those around me were and found the majority to be the gods of the land with one table holding the Buddha and two of his students, the snake Chi Metsu and the dragon Shen both of which had taken human form. Chi Metsu's human form was a tall thin woman with her nails sharpened; wearing an outfit that reminded me of snakeskin and her eyes were a rich dirty yellow and when I focused on her enough I could see she had fangs and a slight split tongue. Shen on the other hand took the form of a man with a body that was built like Throk with more muscles and spikey hair with signs of his horns holding his hair back and his outfit looked like some of the guards from the palace. The woman I sat next to was Xiwangmu, queen of the Chinese gods who tends to the Peaches of Immortality and wife of the Jade emperor who rules the gods. The Jade emperor wasn't present since according to his wife her husband proffered not to deal with mortals or their problems so he didn't care much for what I'd done for the people but it caught the attention of the others.
I didn't mind though since I'd heard tales about what he was like but as a mortal I had no right to complain since I was given the honor of meeting the other gods. Halfway through the tea though the Buddha requested my presence, as there was something Chi Metsu wished to discuss with me. I was happy to go with him and see what the creator of snake style kung fu wanted to talk with me and was surprised when she bowed to me in thanks for what she claimed is fixing her mistake. When I asked her what she meant I learnt that she is the one who gave the head snake demon her power with no intention of creating a demon but a guardian for the people of a village that suffered attacks by a demon that had been causing trouble. Her hopes were that the head snake demon would be able to master her powers and create a race of guardian snake spirits but when she defeated the demon, things went bad in ways she couldn't have predicted. She didn't know that the snake she had chosen would have a darkness in her heart that would drive her to drain that demon of its power and turn her back on Chi Metsu.
She tried to bring her back to the right path but when Chi Metsu was able to track her down her she had reached the point of no return and begun forming her army by passing her powers on to others. It was then she was forced to give up on her with a heavy heart giving the snake time to grow her army as all her hopes and dreams for her were shattered. At first she wanted to do something but the Buddha told her not to for her feelings towards her student would stop her from doing what needed to be done and none of his other students could step in for it was not their battle. This allowed the head snake demon to master her powers and teach it to other snakes who joined her in new forms that would eventually become her army of followers who were meant to be guardian spirits. Now everyone was standing in a crowd looking up at me while I stood at a gate with no doors leading down to a drop with Xiwangmu standing before me. She raised her hands and said.
"Hiccup Haddock, since coming to this land you have endured many hardships for the good of its people and these hardships shall not go unrewarded." She clapped her hands before Chi Metsu walked forward with a flat square chest in hand.
"Hiccup, you were able to do what I was unable to and in doing so saved countless lives and for this you have my thanks and I offer you this, may it serve you well in battle." She opened the chest to reveal a rolled up whip made from black and purple leather, the top of the handle looking like a snakes head where the whip was coming out of, thick curved fangs imbedded in the whip and at the end was a single curved spike. "This whip is magic and like your other weapons has its own abilities but these are thing you shall have to learn for yourself." I nodded and closed the chest before I placed the chest under my arm as Shen walked up with a cylindrical container in his hand.
"Hiccup, you may not know this but I have studied the eye of the dragon and when you defeated the demon you unlocked a new ability within it and I hope the knowledge in the scroll within this container shall help you in using this new power to its full capabilities in battle." I nodded in thanks as I took the container as two gods I recognized as the gods Erlang Shen and Menshen who said.
"Hiccup Haddock, the day we first found out about you was the day we heard of the demon lord Akuhei being defeated and after researching what happened we were shocked to hear what he stole from you." Erlang Shen then held out a circular pendant that looked like a curled up dragon with its head in the middle and said.
"Place this against the door of what was the entrance to the room you stored them in and you shall have a new place to keep your weapons and other gifts without needing to fear of them ever being stolen again." I smiled at this since I'd been meaning to rebuild the vault but was always so busy I never got the chance but I still worried about what might happen in the future with them before the god of war Guan Gong walked up with a chest in hand.
"Hiccup Haddock your skills in battle were impressive and I have watched your past battles where you had to use strategy and you truly have a gift for it but I could see in your eyes the worry as you poured over the different strategies." I shrugged.
"I knew if I made a mistake or chose the wrong strategy then it would lead to more deaths than necessary and possible defeat so I had to be careful." He smiled.
"Wise words young warrior and I hope this shall aid you in the future in both remaining calm when planning and in battles." He opened the chest to reveal a jade pipe with the mouth shaped like a dragon but I knew there was more to it than it seems as he closed the chest and handed it to me on top of the others as the god Li shou walked up to me.
"Hiccup Haddock you may not have been aware but I once visited your island." My eyes widened at this. "I was interested in the many beasts you were able to domesticate as I had done the same so long ago when the world was still young and I offer you a new addition to your collection of beasts." A large creature that looked like a large leopard with red fur, seven tails and a short but thick horn curving up coming out of its forehead. "I believe this zheng should make a fine addition to your island." It walked up and nuzzled my chest. "He has already been trained to obey and serve you with complete loyalty above all others." I smiled and gently stroked the zheng.
"He's beautiful, thank you so much and don't worry I'll treat him well!" He purred under my touch as Longwang walked up holding a chest of his own.
"I understand you came to these lands to study dragons." I nodded. "My apologies that you never got the chance to see the magnificent beasts or their capabilities." I shrugged.
"It's alright since I'll be back in China one day and I'll study them then." He smiled.
"Till then I hope these will be use to you." He opened the chest to reveal fourteen dragon eye lenses with nine circling four in the middle that were circling a jeweled lens in the center of them. "I understand you have a device to show you what these hold." I nodded as he smiled. "These lenses contain information on all the dragons that can be found in China but the ones in the center are special and require all five to work with the one in the center being the lens that must go in at the back." He closed the chest and past it to me. "May this knowledge serve you well when you return to our land." I nodded in thanks, as I remembered why I didn't study the dragons and looked to the gods.
"What's going to happen to Blanca and the others?" Xiwangmu stepped forward.
"You really do love the white snake don't you Hiccup?" I nodded.
"I would love her even if she were trapped as a giant python." She smiled.
"That is exactly what I wanted to hear." She walked up to me. "We know of the pain you've endured losing the Yuki Onna Mizore and the young woman Hadasa who you felt you could've shared your life with and we shall not force you to endure that pain again." I nodded getting a feeling of hope in my heart. "As Chi Metsu told you those snakes were never meant to be demons but guardians of the land however too much time has passed and the damage has been done so the people shall always fear them as demons and never accept them as the guardians they were meant to be." I nodded not seeing where this was going. "Hiccup Haddock we wish for you to offer them all a place on your island." This shocked me since at most I was hoping I'd be able to take Blanca back with me but not the entire race.
"I'd be happy to but I doubt they'd be willing to listen to me and that they'd be comfortable on my island since I'd have to scatter them around the different buildings to house them." She smiled and snapped her fingers before a chest appeared in her hands before she held it out to me.
"I believe this should solve that problem." The chest opened to reveal a jade colored stone that I recognized as an island piece and I saw it had a large part sticking out before the chest closed. "This new piece to your island shall have a new place for them to call home." The chest closed and floated to me as I thanked her and took it.
"Are you sure they'll listen to me though." She smiled as Chi Metsu walked up holding something in her hand.
"You won't need to worry since this will show them the truth." She held out her hand to reveal a jade pendant that looked like a snake coiling in on itself. "This pendant was my gift to the head snake to show others she was on the side of good and leader of the guardian snakes but when I found that there was no longer hope of returning her to the light I took it back." She placed the pendant around my neck. "Hold this out to them and it shall show them the truth of what happened and they shall then know you can be trusted but remember, it shall not allow you to force them to do what you wish." I nodded.
"I understand and don't worry I'll try to put them back on the right path." She smiled.
"Thank you Hiccup and don't worry about the white snake, you two may not be from the same world but I know you two shall be able to have a happy life together and have a family together." I blushed when she mentioned starting a family, making her giggle as she held up a small rectangular box. "To marry her though you'll need these." The box opened to reveal two white rings mixed with gold. "She'll know what to do when you show them to her." I smiled and nodded before she placed the rings on my other gifts beforeXiwangmu stepped forward.
"And now for the final gift, we give you our blessing." Their eyes glowed as my prosthetic burned as Chinese symbols formed on it making me clench my teeth in pain before it stopped. "And now it's back to your world we send you to be with the one you love."
Shepuckered her lips and blew causing a huge gust of wind to throw Hiccup and everything he had threw the gate behind him and into the clouds before everything went black. It was then I opened my eyes and sat up while looking around to find myself sitting up in a four-poster bed with the wooden posts made of dark wood with wooden snakes wrapped around them. The sheets were black while the curtains were red with black snake shaped patterns on the sides and as for where I was it looked to be some sort of cave. I then turned to my side and saw my gifts from the gods on a large flat boulder with the chests holding my gifts from the gods on top of it. Along with that my zheng was sitting down in front of it and next to the chests was my grootslang coat folded up next to them and my armor was stood up against the wall next to the boulder. I threw my feet over the side as my zheng walked up from his spot and hopped onto the bed and lay his head down next to me allowing me to subconsciously pet him as I wondered where I am. It was then a voice that I recognized as belonging to Verta echoed through the entrance asking.
"How's he doing?" A voice I recognized as Blanca's replied.
"He seems to be doing well but I'm still not sure when he'll wake up."
"Don't worry sister, he's a strong man and I know he'll pull through."
"I just hope he wakes up soon." It was then they walked in with Blanca holding a metal bowl that I could hear was full of water and saw had a cloth hanging out of it so I decided to make it known I was awake.
"Sooner than you ladies think." They gasped as Blanca dropped the bowl and turned to me as Blanca yelled.
"HICCUP!" This woke up my zheng who had drifted off while I pet him and shot up in fright as Blanca ran up to me and jumped onto me. "You're awake." She held onto me tightly like when we were in the exorcism chamber and I just smiled and hugged her back. "I was so worried." I just smiled and said.
"Don't worry it takes a lot more than some crazy snake to end me." She just tightened her grip on me before Verta said.
"I hate to break up this touching moment but what is that thing sitting on the bed next to you both." Blanca pulled away and jumped back when she saw my zheng who was looking back at her and Verta before I placed my hand on his head.
"Don't worry he's a gift from the gods." They raised an eyebrow each as Verta asked.
"How did you meet the gods when you've been in bed for the past seven days." My eyes widened as I ran a hand through my hair.
"The gods work in mysterious ways but while I was with them I learnt some interesting things about your kind including the truth about your kinds existance." Verta glared at me.
"What do you mean by that?" I sighed.
"I might as well start with this." I held up the necklace with the snake pendant showing it to them and watched their eyes widened before Verta rushed up and grabbed it, looking at it and then to me as she growled.
"Where did you get this?" Before I could reply she continued. "This was given to our master by her master but a human stole it from her showing us their true nature as thieves." The chain pulled at my skin as Blanca put her hand on Verta's arm and said.
"Verta, stop you're hurting him." She growled and let go allowing me to lean back and say.
"I'll be happy to tell you but first, could you tell me what happened after I blacked out?" Blanca smiled as she sat down next to me.
"After you returned our power to us we brought you to our lair and lay you to rest in our former masters quarters with everyone wondering why you helped us." Verta then said.
"Blanca's rarely left you side in the three days you've been here and when she does she makes sure I'm the one watching over you since a lot of the others have tried to get in to see you and try figure out what your intentions are towards us." I smiled at this before I frowned.
"Where are the others?"
"In the main cavern." I sighed before I stood up.
"Give me a couple of minutes to get dressed and tell them I'll speak with them as soon as I can but please make sure they're all there since it's best if you all heard the truth about your former masters lies." Verta nodded before she left as Blanca sat next to me and said.
"I'm glad you're alright Hiccup." I smiled and gently caressed her face.
"And I'm glad one of the first things I see when I wake up is your face." She giggled. "Now you better let me get dressed since I learnt some things you and the others need to know." She nodded and stood up but I took her hand making her turn back to me. "And as soon as I'm done we need to talk about some things." She nodded before she left the room leaving me to change into my clothes.
Half an hour later
I was standing on the platform where I was told the former lead snake demon used to stand and make announcements while down below all the snakes were looking up at me except for Blanca and Verta who were at my sides. I took off the pendant and held it out towards them making them all wonder what I was doing and to be honest so was I since all I know is Chi Metsu told me that if I did it the truth would be known. Before anyone could say anything though the pendant began to glow brightly and float out of my hand as it rapidly spun and growing until it grew into a giant snake that reached raised its head to the roof of the cave. All the snakes' demons gasped before they bowed to it as they all simultaneously said.
"GRAND MASTER CHI METSU!" The snake looked down at them with its golden eyes before it said in the voice of Chi Metsu that seemed to echo through the cave.
"Arise my children for there is much I have to say and much light to be shone upon the truth which your former master has hidden from you with her lies about the past." They all stared up at her. "I created her not to act as a demon but as guardian for a village that was being terrorized by a demon." I saw they all looked shocked hearing this. "She however abused my teachings and drained the demon of its power before travelling down a dark path and forming a reputation as a demon herself." The snake sighed. "The next time we met I tried to return her to the path I intended for her but she was too far gone causing me to lose hope for her and I forced to turn my back on her after taking my pendant back from her, the same pendant she claimed was stolen by humans." Many gasped at this. "She used this to flame your hatred of humans so you would attack them without hesitation and turn your back on your true purpose as guardians to them and now I am sad to say they shall only see you all as demons." There were cries of outrage at this. "There is one human however who can offer you all hope for a better life and rest assured he can be trusted." She turned to me. "I have given this human Hiccup Haddock the duty of placing you all back on the right path you were all meant to be on as your new master so please have faith in him and follow him for he shall allow you the lives you deserve."
With that said the snake began leaning towards me shrinking down slithered up my sleeve while wrapping around my real arm. I then felt a burning on my upper armbefore I hadmy sleeve pull up. With my sleeve up it also took the arm of my armor leaving my real arm exposed. I looked down at my upper arm and saw it now had a jade tattoo of a snake wrapped around it, which faintly glowed before settling down. I examined it for a moment before Blanca caressed it in wonder as she said.
"This is the symbol of our kind." She smiled at me. "It shows you're our new leader." I smiled and looked back at the snakes and said.
"I can't force any of you to follow me but I can say this and that is unlike your former master I won't deceive you with lies or use you as an easy way to gather power." They all stared at me. "Now I can't promise you that there aren't going to be any battles that you'll be forced into joining me or that there will be tough times but I can promise you that if you join me then there is a better life waiting for you." I looked out at them. "Now here are your options, you can come with me and enjoy a better life while being put on the path you were always meant to be on or you can stay here and continue to rot in this cave while being hunted by the humans who fear you as demons." I held my arms out. "So what do you say?" There was silence before Blanca walked up and took my hand as she said.
"I'm with you." Verta then walked up and bowed.
"I'm with you." As soon as she said that the others began to chant that they were with me and before long they were all chanting they were with me as I smiled.
"There's a lot we need to do but for now I need to check on the people of snake catcher village." There were murmurs. "I know some of you may hate them but they didn't have a choice when it came to catching snakes since if they didn't do it they'd become slaves." They all nodded. "While I'm away Blanca and Verta are in charge." They all nodded before I hopped down from the platform and made my way towards the exit of the cave with all of them bowing to me.
Meanwhile back on Berk
Nobodies POV:
While Hiccup was busy in China on Berk it was just another normal day with Stoick doing his chiefly duties on the back of his dragon Skullcrusher with his wife accompanying him on Cloudjumper. For gobber it was also just an average day in the Forge with his new apprentice Jamie and his friend Yval helping out where she could so things were running smoothly for him. The only problem he's faced so far that day is Grump accidentally setting the forge on fire when he told him to relight it but that was a quick fix. Basically everyone was pretty happy with his or her day but in the Great Hall one generation we're not all that happy and that generation was none other than Hiccups generation. The teens were in the Great Hall having some lunch with Snotlout and the twins moping and complaining about their day since they were still on manure duty due to the fire they caused in the forest, at one table while Fishlegs and Astrid were close by on another table. Snotlout raised his fists in the air as he shouted
"TWO MORE MONTHS STUCK ON MANURE DUTY!" He slammed his fist against the table while Tuffnut with his head against the table turned towards him and replied.
"Yeah, all because you started that fire with your dumb sword." Snotlout glared at Tuffnut with a face that said 'are you kidding me' as he replied.
"Me?" Tuffnut nodded. "Let me tell you something Tuffnut, I wasn't the only one starting that stupid fire, heck it wasn't even my intention and-" Ruffnut cut him off.
"But it was mostly your fault!" Snotlout looked ready to strangle the twins until Astrid interrupted them saying.
"Oh will you three just shut up!" The three just looked at her.
"If you guys didn't disobey the chiefs orders and stayed out of the woods that fire would never have happened and none of you would be on manure duty." She raised her arms. "Heck, you should be grateful that you aren't putting that cream on Gobbers rash." The three just shivered in disgust but then Ruffnut remembered something as she looks at Astrid and said.
"You know I noticed that you've been very close to Hiccup since he was teaching you all those fancy fighting moves and if I didn't know better I think you're developing a crush on him." Astrid blushed and looked at Ruffnut in anger.
"Absolutely not, I do not have a crush, I'm just asking him to teach me a few of those impressive moves so I'll be prepared in different situations, that's all."
Astrid replied before she got up and walked out of the Great Hall while the other teens watched as they shook their heads and decide to move on with their day. After lunch Astrids mother Ingrid who heard the talk went down to the beach knowing that Astrid would probably be either at the Docks or by the beach since the Fire season has ended and it has become winter going into the forest is a little risky with the ice and snow. Along with this some of the trees have icicles on them that break off easily and could really do some damage. It was then he spotted her just off the beach close to the dock and walked toward her as she was practicing some of the moves that Hiccup taught her before he left. The reason she doing it down by the beach she feels like this form of fighting style is better on a beach than it is in the woods since Hiccup told her it helped to train on ground that moves more.
All of a sudden she felt a hand on her shoulder so she quickly turned around with her fists raised when she saw who it was that was behind her. It was just her mother who smiled as she said.
"Mom don't sneak up on me like that, I could have killed you."
"I know but you were so focused on that move you were practicing you didn't hear me calling out to you." Astrid realized she had a point as she asked.
"Why are you here Mom, usually you'd be helping out Gothi or preparing dinner." Ingrid frowned.
"Can't a mother just check on her daughter?"
"Sorry mom, I've just got a lot on my mind." Ingrid just shook her head.
"It's alright Astrid." She looked at her. "Anyway what I wanted to ask about what you said at the Great Hall." Astrid blushed and looked a little angry.
"Why do you want to talk about that?"
"The reason why is that I know you've slowly been developing a crush on Hiccup ever since he saved you from those Invaders a few months back."
Astrid began to think back to the time she was taken to that horrible Captain's Quarters when the village was invaded and remembered how hiccup came to rescue her. Ever since she saw him in action she had to admit she had begun to realize how much more he meant to her but sadly her past had come back to bite her. She feared because of her not doing anything to help him during their childhood when he was being bullied that chances of getting together with him were very slim. She looked at fishlegs and sighed before she said.
"Yeah, you're right about me developing a crush on Hiccup, but what can I do about it, I mean he's constantly traveling around the world and there are so many more beautiful women, heck maybe even more skilled women then me that would suit him so my chances of getting with him are very little to begin with after all I ever did when we were kid was watch and ignore his cries for help when he was being bullied by Snotlout and the twins." Ingrid just nodded in agreement.
"True but maybe there's a chance, I mean hiccup has constantly rejected all those beautiful women because they didn't care about him, they only cared about his wealth and title, in my opinion you have a better chance of being with him then any other woman since you don't seem to care about his title or his money you care about him and you only asked for his help too strengthen your skill not for anything else." She shrugged. "I mean if you remember that rich chief from the Grown Hills tribe and that stuck-up daughter of his who only saw hiccup as a chance to live a life of luxury and you saw how he reacted towards her and let's not forget about her brother." Astrid remembered that but shook her head. (AN: Chapter 74.)
"That may be true but what am I compared to them and why am I even telling you this?"
"I just felt like you needed someone to talk to because you're my daughter Astrid and a mother can tell these things." Astrid looks at her mother with a smile.
"Thanks mom, I appreciate it but right now I need to think what I need to do to earn hiccups trust and his friendship then maybe just maybe it will slowly develop to that kind of relationship." Her mother just nodded.
"Do you want to talk about a few things about how to begin earning it back?"
She nodded as her mother gestured to a log that was close by and they sat down before they began to talk what she could do. While that was happening on the beach back in the Village Snotlout was sitting on a barrel thinking about his cousins success while he remained stuck on Berk. While Hiccup succeeded in so many things that he couldn't even dream of doing he was stuck here on Berk shoveling manure with his bare hands as he muttered to himself.
"Hiccup has it all, treasures, weapons, an island of his own, women throwing themselves at him and what am I?" He clenched his fists. "Stuck here where my chances of being chief are gone because I tried to impress Astrid into being my bride." He shook his head. "How was I supposed to know that it wouldn't work?" He rubbed his chin. "There's got to be a way for me to fix my mistakes with my relationship with Hiccup and perhaps even get him to take me on some of his adventures, maybe I can even find the new Misses Snotlout Jorgenson while doing it or better yet get Astrid's attention towards me." He sighed. "If only he'd just give me a chance but no he seems to be holding a grudge just because I took my anger out on him and I already said I was sorry, what else do I have to do for him to accept my apology?" Huffing in anger Snotlout got off the barrel and walked back to his house trying to think what he can do to earn hiccups trust so he might be able to join him on his adventures but that's most likely not going to be possible with his current attitude.
Meanwhile with the twins Ruffnut was in her part of their room going through beauty products to wear to see if she could get Hiccups attention while her brother was in the room as well with his pet chicken, staring up to the ceiling until Ruffnut turned around and asked.
"How do I look?"
Tuffnut just turned to her and screamed in terror as he fell off the bed with chicken flying off clucking in terror but who could really blame them? Ruffnut had way too much makeup on her face and it made her look like some sort of possessed doll from someone's nightmare with too much blue mascara on her eyelids, with black eyeliner that made her eyes stick out, way too much red lipstick that looked like blood, her hair was all messy from her brushing it too hard and too long and there was also too much blush on her cheeks. The reason she looked like something that would give someone nightmares for years was she's in such a hurry trying to find the right look to woo hiccup and because of her rushing she had messed up her makeup which scared not only her brother but his chicken as well. Tuffnut got up from the floor as he shouted out.
"That's the scariest thing I've seen in my life." Ruffnut did not look happy with the answer and replied in an angry tone.
"Oh really, like you have any experience with makeup." Tuffnut just stood up.
"Oh yeah, I know one thing and it's that you have no sense of makeup fashion sense." He gestured to her face. "I mean you got so much on your you look like a messed up painting or something or better yet, you look like a possessed Little Girl doll with a creepy smile that could scare a grown man to pee himself." Ruffnut felt her blood boil.
"Says the guy who once used moms makeup for war paint."
"Hey, at least I can make it look nice on my face while you just wipe it all over your face like a two-year-old trying to eat its mush carrots."
Ruffnut screamed and jumped at her brother as he screamed in terror until they started wrestling fight in their room before their parents came in and broke up the fight. It was then Tuffnuts remark about his sisters makeup job being able to scare a fully grown man came true since when their dad saw Ruffnuts face he screamed in horror until his wife slapped in the face to snap him out of it. She then looked a little horrified which upset her daughter before she told her.
"Ruffnut go clean up." She then turned to Tuffnut. "Do not to irritate your sister while she is trying to impress a guy." She then put her hands on her hips. "One thing you should always know is not to tease a girl or make fun of them when they're trying their best to catch the attention of a boy." She said this even though inside her head she knew the chances of her daughter getting together with Hiccup were too Slim because of what they had done to poor Hiccup as a child and them not doing anything to stop it, which upset her greatly while also making her feel a lot of guilt and shame.
While the Twins were being reprimanded for their fight and were sent to clean up the room as a punishment things were busy at Gobbers Forge with Gobber and his new apprentice. Jamie was at the sharpening wheel sharpening some swords while Gobber was melting some gronkle iron while Ylva was just trying to keep Jamie company from her place on Grumps back. She was also in the forge trying to stay out of sight from Lars and his group of friends since their punishment was now over so they'd more than likely try to put her and Jamie in what they called their places since they are one of the few kids that were close to Hiccup. The reason is unlike the other kids they were the only ones who asked only about his adventures and didn't pester him for the position of being his apprentice. After sharpening the tenth sword on the sharpening wheel Jamie began to put the swords in their sheaths as Gobber noticed that the task was done. He was very pleased to see Jamie progressing with his skills in the forge in a way it reminds him of his days with Hiccup and it felt good seeing a new skilled blacksmith in the making. He decided to give Jamie a break so he then said.
"Well Jamie you once again did an excellent job, I think you deserve a break."
Jamie just smiled and thanked Gobber as he and Ylva went into the backroom where hiccup used to have his design blueprints on the walls. This room had now become Jamie's personal workshop where he came to enjoy some peace and think about some things. Ylva then asked.
"Jamie what do you want to do now that you are on break?"
"I'm not sure but with Lars and his gang no longer grounded there's no doubt that they'll come after us again." He sighed. "I really wish they'd just leave us alone." He kicked an empty box, which landed on the old trap door under the rug making sound of wood hitting wood that Jamie and YIva heard and quickly went over to where the Box landed and lifted the rug to discover a trapdoor as Jamie looked at his friend. "I think this may be one of Hiccup secret passageways before he got his Island.
"Before he got his Island?"
Jamie then remembers that Ylva wasn't here when hiccup used to live on Berk before he gained his Island from the gods. He then began to explain that when Hiccup lived on Berk he had a hidden lair, which was his home before he got his Island, and he claimed that he had hundreds of whispering death tunnels running beneath Berk. They allowed him to travel around the island without being seen and how this trap door might be one of the entrances to the tunnels. They both looked at each other in astonishment and smiled believing this could be a great adventure but they also realize that it could also mean great danger if they're not careful so they decided maybe they could ask hiccup to show them his old hideaway when he gets back. After that they left Gobbers Forge after deciding to go home and agreed they'd meet up again at the forge when school is over before they quickly ran home excited at the though of seeing Hiccups old hideaway. What they didn't know however was that Lars had been listening in on their conversation and sneaking into the forge without Gobber noticing as he went into the back room and found the trapdoor. After seeing it Lars believed that if he and his friends could go to Hiccups old Hideaway maybe there'd be something there that they could use to prove that they were worthy of being Hiccups apprentices before he quickly ran to tell his gang what he found out.
Eventually night descended on the Isle of Berk as Stoick looked out the window of his house with his wife making dinner which he was glad wasn't her meatballs since they were lethal but the rest of her cooking was okay. As he looked out he began to wonder how Hiccup was doing, knowing that he's probably gotten mixed up in another adventure in this new land. He hoped his son was finally able to have a relaxing trip the life threatening adventures where starting to give him grey hairs on his beard as well as his hair. It was then his wife called him to the kitchen table and right on top of the table was a stack of letters that were going to be mailed to all the islands of the archipelago proclaiming that Hiccup was looking for a wife, which both he and his wife hope won't lead to trouble. As they began to eat Valka realizes that her husband is quite concerned about something and asked.
"Stoick what's wrong?"
"I'm just concerned about our son, I just hope he has a well-rested trip and not a life-threatening save the world kind of adventure." Valka just shook her head sadly.
"Knowing how things always go for him, he's probably already been pulled into one of those adventures." He just nodded and sighed.
"You're probably right, let's not think about it knowing that son of ours can handle anything thrown at him after what this village put him through." He finished saying this while looking down sadly thinking about what a horrible father he was while Valka leaned over and grabbed his hand.
"You tried your best, you were dealing with the village and I was gone so it's also my fault for not coming back and helping to take care of him and proving that my theory was correct." Stoick just nodded and they decided to finish dinner before they could begin finishing the rest of the work on the letters.
Back in China
Hiccups POV:
I was now making my way across the now lifeless field where the generals' trap had been set off on top of my kappa shell and I had to say it was rather heartbreaking for me since I had fond memories of this field from when me and Blanca first met. I sighed and shook my head as I muttered to myself about how this was going to take a few of my forest arrows and my pan flutes to undo the damage done. I then looked to the village and knew that before I did anything I needed to make sure everyone was all right since something could've happened in the time I was gone. I flew up to the gates as I heard someone yell that I was back before they lowered allowing me entrance only to be greeted by a large crowd of people running up to me. When I got off my kappa shell and put it away they reached me before pelting me with multiple questions until the village leader walked to the front and yelled.
"SILENCE!" This got everyone to quiet down as he turned to me. "Hiccup we are all glad to see you are alright for we all feared you had been killed by the demons when they took you."
"They didn't mean me any harm, they just wanted to know why I returned their power to them instead of keeping it for myself."
"That is a question I'd like to know since they are demons." I shook my head.
"I returned it to them because I had the feeling they weren't as bad as everyone believed them to be and soon I learnt the truth about them." People began murmuring.
"The truth about them?" I nodded.
"The truth that they were never meant to be demons but guardians of the people and lead astray by their former master." There were cries of disbelief but the leader once again cried for silence.
"Hiccup, explain!" I smiled as I began telling them what I learned from Chi Metsu.
