Chapter 147
Hiccups POV:
I looked around at the murmuring chiefs and heirs who were silently discussing some things with a frown on my face because chief Gilford just told them to bring out the bridal candidates. I had to admit I was annoyed since I wanted them to know that I was already married and my parents sent out the letters before they found out. Unfortunately, chief Gilford decided to remind everyone of the reasons they were all brought here to begin with and everyone agreed to begin by showing off the candidates they brought hoping I'd pick them to be my bride. I wasn't blind to why they all wanted me to marry a member of their tribe; they wanted access to my wealth, my connections, the resources on my island, access to my island in general and in the case of the Spearwing tribe get access to my animals. I wouldn't be surprised if some of the girls they were offering up as brides volunteered for this so they could sink their claws into my fortune and everything I had for the good of their tribe. Although I admired them for willing to do this for their tribe I knew some of them were most likely just doing this for themselves but I hoped at least some of them weren't like that. I also hoped they wouldn't be too upset to find out I'm already married to a wonderful woman who I look forward to spending the rest of my life with. I knew I wasn't going to get to tell them though since the looks in their eyes show they were looking forward to showing off their girls and knowing how Vikings were, I figured it best to let them say their parts and in between chiefs try to let them know about Blanca. It was then chief Gilford brought me out of my thoughts by turning to Chief Bassmouth and saying.
"BASSMOUTH, SINCE YOU INTRODUCED YOURSELF FIRST, IT'S ONLY RIGHT YOU BE THE FIRST TO INTRODUCE YOUR BRIDAL CANDIDATE." Bassmouth nodded before gesturing someone from behind him forward.
"ALLOW ME TO INTRODUCE YOU ALL TO MY BRIDAL CANDIDATE AND NIECE MERMALA!"
I saw a girl with blond hair tied back in a simple ponytail with eyes as blue as the sea while her skin was sun kissed. She was wearing an ocean blue dress that was short-sleeved showing off her arms while the torso of the dress hugged her body complimenting her hourglass figure. The dress she was wearing was decorated with the pattern of flowing waves stitched into a shade of blue that was a little darker then the main material the dress was made of. Around her neck was a golden necklace with a circular golden pendant that had a coin-sized sapphire imbedded in the center with a wave pattern circling it in the gold. She also had small dangling earrings made from gold with a single sapphire in the middle of each the size of my pinky's fingernail. She gave me a gentle smile as I saw the kindness in her eyes making me smile back since I knew this kindness meant she wasn't one of those arrogant girls after my fortune. I was brought out of my thoughts when Bassmouth turned to me and saying.
"Lad if you're looking for a bride then my niece would suit you well since she can help around your island whether it be handling your vegetables or your fishing boats since she knows her way around both." I nodded as he opened his arms. "She also knows the seas like a dragon knows how tasty a fish will be." He then pointed to her. "Not to mention word around my tribe is that she is a force to be reckoned with but I don't know if it's true or not." He then gestured to all of her. "Along with all this you can't deny she's got a beauty that can only be rivaled by the sea itself." He then looked me in the eye. "She'd do good travelling companion for a lad like you who's often on the sea." He then sat back down as Mermala stepped forward and said.
"It's nice to finally meet you Hiccup Haddock, I've heard so many stories about you and even if I'm not chosen I hope you'll allow me to at least see your island." I smiled at her but before I could reply she stepped back as Chief Grant stood up and said.
"Alright lass, you've been introduced so let's move onto the other bridal candidates since I believe my tribes bridal candidate is next." He gestured for someone behind him to come forward before a young girl stepped forward as he gestured to her. "THIS IS MY GOD DAUGHTER AMETHYST!"
I saw Amethyst had brown hair that was tied back in a braid that went down her back and ended just above her neck while some of her hair came down and framed her cute face. For her outfit she was wearing a light-yellow dress with long sleeves. The dress hugged her body showing off her curves while it was patterned with a dark yellow thread against the lighter yellow making it pop. She also wore gold wristbands that were decorated with fine jewels and a golden necklace with a golden pendant that had the symbol of her tribe on it. She smiled at me with sparkle in her eyes as Chief Grant turned to me and said.
"Amethyst is skilled with her hands and collects the best gems among the ones we find when we're turning large blocks of stone into art." I nodded. "She also doesn't care much for the muscles which many young girls desire in their man, so she you won't have to work out hard and keep your small body the way it is." He gestured to my body with this last statement making me glare but he didn't notice it. "Now she may not be as large as the rest of my people but she is a gem among us boulders and I guarantee with her by your side things will always be as majestic as the gems she finds in the boulders." I nodded as Amethyst stepped forward and smiled at me.
"I'm not perfect but I'm hoping you will give me a chance." Before I could even open my mouth to reply Chieftess Marrow stood up.
"Alright lass, back to your seat so we can get on with the introductions." She nodded and returned to her place at chief Grants side while Chieftess Marrow turned to the people as she gestured someone forward. "I NOW PRESENT MY YOUNGEST DAUGHTER OLGA!"
A young girl walked out from behind her and smiled while waving at everyone as I took a moment to examine her and try to get a better idea of her character. She had shoulder length brown hair that was straight and framed her face at the front bringing attention to her hazel eyes, her skin was also pale in color with a mole on her left cheek. She was wearing a dark blue dress that had a skirt that reached above her ankles. This dress was decorated with some rib bones around her own ribs so they cupped her chest, pearl earrings, a green ring on right hands ring finger and a red headband. I was then brought out of my thoughts when Chieftess Marrow turned to me and said.
"My little Olga is a beauty that cannot be beat." I nodded. "She is easy going and a very good listener." I raised an eyebrow. "She is like a blank painting awaiting to be filled." My confusion must've shown on my face since Marrow quickly continued with. "She may not have much going on in her head, but that only mean that she is more open to new things."
Throughout this little speech Olga just smiled and nodded along with what her mother was saying with a fake smile and blank look in her eyes showing she wasn't that bright and was just going along with what her mother was saying. In other words, a simple-minded airhead like the twins but I could see that unlike the twins she was more of a gentle soul. There was a moment of silence, which I was about to take to tell them about my marriage but chief Gilford beat me to it and said.
"Now that that's out of the way." He gestured someone forward. "ALLOW ME TO INTRODUCE MY NIECE GALE!"
A young girl walked out smiling at everyone as I examined her to see she had wavy red hair that made her brown eyes pop and was tied back into a ponytail with a green hair tie, slightly tan skin that had a few freckles on her face but I saw she had a slight limp. She was wearing a long-sleeved sky-blue dress that reaches her ankles and was decorated with yellow stitching's that looked like lightning bolts. She also had small but lovely sapphire earrings so all in all she was quite an attractive girl but I only had eyes for my Blanca. Chief Gilford turning to me brought me out of my thoughts as he smiled while placing a hand on Gales shoulder and said.
"My niece isn't something to wonder about." He raised his arm and gestured to her. "She's as intelligent as the sky is vast." He lowered his arm. "With her skill you can predict the weather like its a wild beast so with her by your side you will never need to worry about storms." He then raised his arm while forming a fist. "With this ability she could be the key your need to victory in any of your battles since she is one of our best storm readers and can tell you when the best time to strike would be." Hale stepped forward smiling as she said.
"My uncles over selling my abilities, I'm just good at observing the weather." I opened my mouth to reply but chief Gilford placed a hand on her shoulder.
"Come now lass, don't be selling yourself short since we owe a lot of our tribes' victories to you." Before she could reply chieftess Luna stood up and said.
"I hate to interrupt this bonding moment between you both but I believe we need to finish introductions." He nodded and led Gale back to the spot next to his seat as chieftess Luna announced. "I PRESENT MY NIECE AND ADOPTED DAUGHTER, STELLA."
A young girl walked out from behind her chair allowing me to look her up and down and I had to admit, she was a very attractive girl with her blond hair tied in a braid that came over her right shoulder. She also had crystal blue eyes that seemed to hold something behind them that seemed familiar but I couldn't tell what it was. Her dress was a sleeveless navy blue one with white stars stitched into the material. She also wore a golden necklace that had a fine star shaped diamond in the center of it along with golden bracelets. The thing that caught my attention and the attention of most of the men in the great hall was how low cut the front was since it gave everyone a good view of her cleavage but it was tied at the bottom keeping it from showing her entire chest. I'm guessing chieftess Luna didn't approve of it since she gave Stella a quick glare while Stella just gave her a smile as chieftess Luna turned back to me.
"Please excuse her choice of clothing." I just nodded without speaking and saw Stella smile slightly. "I can't deny that my daughter can be a handful but she is skilled in negotiations so she could be a benefit in your trades Hiccup and she's also skilled in many talents of my tribe." I took a sip from my pipe while nodding. "Along with all this she has a sharp tongue a beauty that can only be rivaled by the clear night sky." I opened my mouth to reply but before I could Stella walked right up to me with a smile as she said.
"It's a pleasure to meet you Hiccup, I've heard so many things about your amazing adventures and I'm looking forward to getting to know you on this trip and I hope you'll be kind enough to tell me of your adventures." I just gulped as she leaned in giving me a good view down the front of her dress and I was grateful to chieftess Luna when she pulled Stella back.
"My apologies for my niece Hiccup." I shrugged.
"No problem chieftess Luna." She pulled Stella back to her place but Stella's eyes never left me, when she saw I was looking at her she gave me a flirtatious smile and a wink before chief Lokiroht stood up.
"Let's get on with this." I turned to him. "ALLOW ME TO INTRODUCE YOU ALL TO MY YOUNGEST CHILD ZEVA."
A girl with curled brown hair that framed her face and ran down her back to her waist while showing off her sparkling forest green eyes. Her dress was made of fine animal furs with the pelt of a fox draped over her shoulders with the back wrapping around her neck. I could tell the furs she was wearing were high quality as was the sunstone in pendant that rested above her chest, which I am pleased to say that unlike Stella's was completely covered, and fine furs are what covered it. She also wore a belt that was loose and hung loosely around her waist drawing attention to her hourglass figure and the bejeweled golden belt buckle. It was then chief Lokiroht looked at me and said.
"My daughter Zeva is a woman who knows fine pelts and can find the beasts in the forest as if she saw where they went easily." I nodded. "She'd be a wife that makes your life an adventure and be a nice piece of eye candy to make your allies envious and make other women back off since I know a lad like you must get a lot of attention from them." Reminding me of what my fan girls did made me smoke my pipe to calm myself. "I also know for a fact that she can make a fine outfit from the strongest of pelts since she made one of my fine fur armors that I wear and the dress she's now wearing." He gestured to her with this last statement. "So, if any of your beasties tries to bite the hand that feeds them, then she can be the one to something useful whether it be a beautiful new clothing or a new blanket for your bed." I growled and clenched my fists at the thought of hurting my animals or dragons but was brought out of my thoughts when Zeva walked up.
"Please forgive my father." For a moment I thought she was apologizing for him insulting my animals until she continued with. "Before I can even think of turning the pelts into something I need to first examine it and see what the beasts can be turned into since they might just make good trophies to decorate the house."
Hearing her say this I was tempted to heat up my pipe and let loose a flaming blast in her face since she was acting as if she was my wife and had a say in what decorated my house and the fate of my animals. Fortunately, before she could say anything else that would've angered me further Chief Nigren let out a cough letting her know he was waiting for his turn. Seeing this she returned to her place at chief Lokiroht's side. Chief Nigren cleared his throat and said.
"ALLOW ME TO PRESENT MY DAUGHTER AND YOUNGEST CHILD FREYA!"
As soon as he said that Freya walked out from behind him and I knew that her staying was going to be a complete nightmare for me. She was wearing a short-sleeved white dress that was had golden bands made of thread sown into the ends of the sleeves and the bottom of the skirt. She was also wearing golden bands around her wrists that had jewels in them and a golden pendant with the tribes' insignia on it in the middle surrounded by small emeralds. Her hair was tied into a braid that was pulled over her left shoulder and she had a golden band around her head with small jewels in it. She saw I was looking at her and gave a fake sweet smile while she gently played with her braid and rocked her hips a little drawing attention to her hourglass figure as her father smiled and said.
"My daughter's gone through quite a few changes since we were last here lad." I looked her up and down and saw she'd matured a bit with her hips growing slightly and her chest sticking out a bit more. "She's matured in both appearance and mind." I raised an eyebrow. "She's been helping out around the island with deals and helped seal more than a few renewing business deals with some of our more stubborn partners." I had the feeling she did this by using her feminine charm on them. "She could really help you out when trying to do business with some of the more arrogant and stubborn allies when you're on business trips and she's also good company for when you're just enjoying some down time." He then got a smile that made me feel uncomfortable. "Plus, she's been getting advice from the married women around the tribe on how to show her love to her husband so she'll be good company in private if you know what I mean lad." Sadly, I knew exactly what he meant and it made me sick as Freya walked up to me throwing a little swing into her hips and a smile on her face that I'm sure would pull any man into her trap but I'd seen way too many of those smiles to be pulled in as she said.
"It's so good to see you again Hiccup and I'm looking forward to spending more time with you and I'm hoping this time you could give me a private tour of your island." I was about to reply but Ulrik grabbed her and pulled her back as he said.
"Come on Freya." She pushed her back to their father as he turned back to me. "Alright Hiccup let's get this over with." He gestured around the room. "Hurry up and pick a bride so we can get on with our lives." Before I could reply chief Bassmouth said.
"That's not how these things work lad." We turned to him. "You've got to give the lad a chance to get to know each of his potential brides so he can choose the right one for him." I once again opened my mouth to reply but Chief Nigren cut in when he looked at me and said.
"Lad, just save us all sometime and just marry my daughter since she's obviously the best choice." I tried to reply but chieftess Marrow cut in.
"And who says that your bratty daughter is right for him."
"Oh, and you think that braindead girl of yours is better." Before she could reply Chieftess Luna then said.
"Can we not calm down and discuss this like reasonable people?" Chief Bassmouth was the one to reply with.
"Perhaps that manipulative little brat of yours would make a suitable wife since she's so well known for turning men into love sick puppets." She glared at him.
"At least my girl would remain by his side and not constantly be out on the ocean like her tribe members who are too lazy to just settle down and build their own village."
I saw people going for their weapons and knew I needed to stop this before things turned into a full-scale riot with everyone fighting each other. Sadly, I knew how stubborn Vikings could be and when in a fight they were focused it would take an explosion to get their attention. I looked down at my pipe just as weapons were drawn and quickly pulled my pipe back to my lips and took a few deep breaths until the eyes of the dragon glowed orange signaling the flames were being lit within. I took a few hard breaths in as I watched people begin walking towards each other weapons drawn as before I lowered my pipe from my lips while taking another deep breath and let loose a stream of flames from my mouth. The flames went right between the people on either side both making them stop and turn to face me with gaping mouths when they saw where the flames were coming from. I stopped blowing the flames and turned to the chiefs and smiled as I looked at them and said.
"Now that's I have your attention can I please tell you all what I've been trying to tell you all from the beginning?" Bassmouth replied.
"Spit that out instead of those flames lad." I smiled.
"When my parents sent out those letters to you all I was still on my trip to China and they were unaware of what happened there." Chief Grant then said.
"Don't tell us you lost your ability to reproduce lad." There were murmurs as I glared at him.
"No, I am still capable of having my own children."
"Then what's happened?"
"I fell in love and got married to a wonderful woman." There was silence for a moment before Bassmouth yelled out.
"SO, WE ALL CAME HERE FOR NOTHING!" There were cries of anger until I took a few more sips of my pipe and let out another fire blast silencing everyone while also gaining their attention.
"Now that I have your attention again, I would like you all to know that to ensure you don't leave empty handed I made some arrangements." Chieftess Marrow asked.
"And what are these arrangements?"
"I returned to Arabia and found the finest merchants in the land before summoning them all to the bazaar held on my island every few weeks." Chief Gilford then asked.
"What the heck is a bazaar?"
"A bazaar is an Arabian market place and every few weeks I open one up on my island using a portal arch on my island to bring the traders from Arabia here and this time I've made sure only the finest traders have come and offer only their finest wares to you all." They all murmured in agreement. "And as added part of my apology I'm going to do something I've never done before in my life." I took a deep breath. "I'm going to give a tour of my island to all visiting chiefs, heirs and their bridal candidates." There were multiple murmurs at this before Chief Lokiroht asked.
"Besides those things why shouldn't we just declare war for wasting our time." I sighed and stood up while placing my pipe on the arm rest.
"Would all chiefs please send out three of your tribes finest warriors."
They all nodded as I took off my grootslang coat and third arm sash placing them both on the chair while they all stared in confusion before they each sent three armed warriors into the middle of the circle. I then took off my armor with my spider pack and stood it up next to my chair before reaching up to my eye patch that ejected the eye of the dragon into my real hand. I gently placed it on top of my grootslang coat before I took my prosthetic arm off and kneeled down in pain as it came off before placing it onto the chair followed by my ox flame boots. I walked into the middle of the room past the warriors as everyone stared at me in confusion before I said.
"Now then I'd like to ask all the warriors who were picked to do one thing." They all looked at me in confusion. "Attack me!" Gasps of shock echoed through the hall as one of the warriors from the Stone Cutter tribe asked.
"Are you insane lad?" I just shrugged.
"I ask myself that same question every time I go up against some sort of mystic creature that are said to be unbeatable." They all stared at me. "I'm sure I'll be alright in this case so come at me in full force and don't hold back." Before anyone could reply Chief Lokiroht yelled out.
"JUST ATTACK THE LAD ALREADY, WE DON'T HAVE ALL DAY!" That was all that needed to be said since a second later the warriors charged at me as I smiled.
Five minutes later
Five minutes passed since Lokiroht gave the order and I looked around at the scene before me only to see everyone staring at me. I couldn't blame them though since the twenty-nine warriors who attacked me were now scattered around the great hall unconscious in various ways with one even having his shirt pulled over his face and another with his belt wrapped around his arms. As for those who were still conscious, they were all staring at me with their mouths in shock and in some cases of the girls with desire in their eyes which made me glad I was a married man. I turned to chief Lokiroht as I said.
"I just took down twenty-nine warriors with one arm, one eye and no weapons." He just stared. "I highly doubt anyone here wants to see what I could do to their village and their people when I'm armed with my god made weapons and have my army which includes my alpha class dragons backing me up." I saw them all gulp in fear as they realized they wouldn't stand a chance before chieftess Marrow asked.
"Yeah, listen lad I promise you my tribe won't be any trouble but I need to ask where in the world did you learn to fight like that?" I walked over to my chair and picked up my prosthetic as I answered.
"The way I fought was a mixture of dragon style kung fu which I learned on my latest trip to China and ninjutsu which I've being learning from my ninja masters." I grit my teeth in pain as my prosthetic reconnected before I stood back up and snapped my fingers and my ninjas jumped from the rafters and silently landing in front of me before kneeling before me. "These ninjas were once the leaders of the five greatest ninja clans Japan had ever seen, their skill was legendary until their rain came to an end at the hands of the demon lord Akuhei who trapped their souls into these new bodies enslaving them to his will until I took him down and they swore their loyalty to me." I then picked up the eye of the dragon and held it up to my eyepatch which quickly pulled it in and back into place before I blinked a few times to clear my vision. "As for my kung fu abilities I learnt from dragon master Shen who trained me in what I call a time bubble meaning over a year past in there but outside it had only been just over an hour." They all nodded as Dagur asked.
"Yeah, I just have one question before we do anything else brother." I turned to him as I picked up my armor.
"Sure, what is it?" I put my armor back on as Dagur got a pained look in his eye.
"Why didn't you invite me to your wedding?" I sighed and put on my Grootslang coat back on.
"I'm sorry Dagur but the wedding ceremony me and my wife had was one in which only the bride and groom were to be present and nobody else since it's the way of her people." He nodded as I picked up my third arm sash and wrapped it around my waist.
"And here I was worried that you just didn't want me there." I frowned at him.
"Oh, come on brother, you know if it weren't for the custom I'd have used my portal door to go and pick you up to be my best man." He smiled at me.
"By the way both you and Mala are invited to stay on my island for your time here." Before he could reply Mala answered.
"We'd love to Hiccup but we don't want to intrude." I turned to her.
"Don't worry Mala, family is always welcome on my island and I won't take no for an answer." I then smiled. "Besides it'll give you and Dagur a chance to get to know Blanca."
"Blanca?"
"That's my wife's name." She smiled at me.
"I look forward to meeting her." I smiled at her before turning to the people.
"The tour of my island will begin tomorrow morning since for now I believe we should all get to the bazaar." Everyone murmured in agreement before chieftess Luna asked.
"Before we go lad, are there any rules of this bazaar we should know about?"
"Just don't steal anything, don't try to harm the merchants and show them proper respect." Nail then asked.
"And what happens if we don't show those foreigners respect?"
"Then you'll have to deal with Mirage."
"Mirage?"
"She's my sandwalker who helps make sure there are no thieves in the bazaar." They all looked confused at the mention of a sandwalker.
"What the heck's a sandwalker?" I smiled at him.
"Don't worry, you'll meet her when your ship is docked on the island section with the bazaar." Chief Nigren then asked.
"How will we know where the island section is?"
"While you all make your way down to the docks where your ships are I'll getting my nightfury and when I do we'll fly down to the docks to lead your ships to the bazaar." They all nodded before we all began making our way out of the great hall.
10 minutes later
All the ships of not only the visiting tribes were docked at the bazaar but also some from Berk were all parked in the dock of my bazaar island section and everyone was crowded at the front of the dock with me standing in front of them all and Toothless at my side. I looked around and I had to say I did not like the look some of the Spearwing tribe were giving Toothless including chief Lokiroht and vaatu. I took a breath as I looked out at them all and yelled.
"ALRIGHT EVERYONE, I'VE GIVEN YOU ALL THE RULES TO FOLLOW WHILE IN THE BAZAAR AND IF YOU FOLLOW THEM ALL THEN THERE'LL BE NO TROUBLE AND MIRAGE WON'T NEED TO INTERFERE!" Nail then asked.
"SO WHERE IS THIS MIRAGE YOU KEEP TALKING ABOUT?" I smiled at him as I brought my fingers to my lips and let out a loud whistle and for a moment there was silence until the sands started shifting towards us before Mirage burst from the ground behind me as the members of the visiting tribes backed up in shock.
"THIS IS MIRAGE AND SHE MAKES SURE NONE OF THE RULES IN THE BAZAAR ARE BROKEN SO OBEY THEM OR YOU'LL HAVE TO DEAL WITH HER." I saw the majority of them were looking at her in fear but the Spearwing tribe members with a predatory glint in their eye and I knew they might try to hunt her but I doubt they were that stupid however as Vikings I knew they were also always looking for a good challenge but that would be something to worry about later. "NOW PLEASE RESPECT THE RULES AND ENJOY THE BAZAAR!" With that said I stepped aside and allowed them all to walk past while Mirage sunk back into the sands as I turned to Toothless and asked. "There's going to be trouble, isn't there?" He just crooned. "I'm glad I had the common sense to have a few Scouters set up around the bazaar to keep an eye on things but I wonder if I should've gone with my stinging wasp instead." He just growled and nodded as I watched people make their way to the stalls.
1 hour later
It's been an hour since the tribes went into the bazaar and so far, there'd been no problems other than a few disagreements with prices that were easily settled without the need for me or Mirage to intervene. Other than that, things seemed to be going pretty well for everyone with the merchants doing pretty well when it came to selling their products and the buyers were happy with their purchases. From what my Scouters showed me through their eyes they were all eager to get their hands on some of the products that were up for sale and to be honest I can't blame them. I was tempted to buy a few of the items on sale aside from my usual bag of sugared dates since there were statues, gems, jewelry, carpets, clothing and so much more for sale. Sadly, this did lead to a few problems with the people however it was nothing serious but it did keep me and Toothless here when I'd like nothing more than to go home and kiss my wife before taking a nap in the Irish hills. Now however I was leaning against Toothless in between stalls as I smoked my pipe while watching the people go by holding their bought items. It was then I felt my wedding ring glow and held it up as Blanca's face appeared making me smile as I said.
"Hey Blanca." She smiled at me.
"Hello Hiccup, I'm just calling to ask if everything is alright since it's been a while since you left."
"Don't worry, everything's fine with the odd fight breaking out here in the bazaar but it's never anything serious since it's always solved before I get there."
"I'm glad to hear that since I have to admit, I was a little worried about what might happen when they found out you're married."
"There were a few complaints but I'm pretty sure they won't be complaining anytime soon with how well things are going here at the bazaar."
"I'm glad there's not going to be any trouble."
"By the way I invited Dagur and Mala to stay with us for the time they're here." Her smile widened at this.
"Good, I've been wanting to meet your brother and his wife." I smiled hearing she was alright with it. "I'll prepare one the guest rooms for them."
"Thanks Blanca, you're the best." She giggled.
"See you later tonight love."
"Bye darling, love you."
"Love you!" Her face then faded as I lowered my hand and continued to watch what was happening in the bazaar through the eyes of my Scouters.
Five hours later
It's been five hours since I last spoke with Blanca and in that time, nothing has happened besides the occasional fight or disagreement between the people in the bazaar. The bazaar closed up a little under an hour ago with everyone looking forward to tomorrow with the traders thanking me for offering them this opportunity which turned into one of the best sales days they've ever had. The visiting tribes were also incredibly happy with the things they were able to buy from the different stalls since these were things that weren't native to anywhere in the archipelago. Sadly, this led to a few issues between chief Nigren and the traders when he kept pestering them to move to his island and set up shop there but they kept telling them that they preferred to remain in their homeland of Arabia. That didn't stop him from going to every single one of them and making them offers which lead to the same answer from them all and him eventually turning to me for help. I just told him I had no control over these people and what they did with their loves but that didn't stop him from trying to convince me to try and help him. It was after an hour of bothering me that I was grateful when a fight broke out in the middle of the street since it gave me an excuse to get away from him.
Now I was making my way up the stairs to my house with Dagur and Mala following close behind me with Dagur helping Mala up the stairs. I smiled when I reached the top and found Blanca standing there waiting for me with a smile on her face as she walked up to me. I held her in my arms as I smiled at her before she said.
"Welcome home Hiccup, how was your day after our talk?" I shrugged.
"Same old problems love with the added annoyance of chief Nigren bothering the merchants by trying to convince them to come sell on his island and bothering me to help him convince them."
"I take it you wouldn't help him."
"I tried explaining to him that it was their choice but he didn't listen and kept bothering me." I let out an annoyed sigh. "Fortunately, I'm used to dealing with stubborn idiots." A voice from behind us said.
"I hope you're not talking about me brother." I turned and smiled at him and Mala as they walked in as I let go of Blanca but kept my real arm around her waist.
"No, I'm talking about the people who've been trying to buy Toothless from me." I then gestured to Blanca. "Dagur, Mala allow me to introduce you both to me beloved wife Blanca." I then gestured to them as I looked to Blanca. "And Blanca this is my brother Dagur and his wife Mala." She bowed to them.
"It's a pleasure to meet you both." She stood back up straight. "Hiccups told me so much about you both." Dagur smiled.
"All good things I hope."
"Not exactly since he told me all about old Dagur." He grimaced at that.
"Yeah, it's a part of my past I'm not exactly something I'm proud of." A voice then said.
"I can understand that since by the sounds of things you were quite the psychopath back then." We all turned to see Verta making her way towards us in her half human half snake form making Dagur and Mala gasp and step back as I turned to them.
"Don't worry, she's not going to hurt either of you." They looked to me as I gestured to Verta. "Dagur, Mala this is my sister-in-law Verta and if you're wondering what she is, the answer is a snake guardian like Blanca." They turned to me as Blanca turned into her half snake form making them gasp in shock. "I know you both must have questions but they are answered over dinner." Blanca then said.
"That does sound good since while we're talking here the foods getting cold." They both nodded before we made our way to the dining room.
Three hours later
Dinner was an interesting affair to say the least since I spent it both enjoying the meal Blanca prepared while also using my illusion spider to show what happened in China from beginning to end. I did skip the part where me and Blanca were in the Taoist chamber and our wedding since those moments were private and for the viewing of only me and Blanca. When dinner was finished with the show Dagur and Mala asked not only me but also Blanca and Verta many questions about a lot of things but all in all they were happy for me and looking forward to getting to know Blanca and Verta.
Now Dagur and Mala were in the guest room sleeping while I was lying shirtless in my own bed with Blanca curled up next to me with her head on my chest. I gently stroked her hair as she gently breathed while she slept but sadly sleep didn't come as easily to me as it did her. The reason for this is I was a little worried about tomorrow with all the chiefs, their heirs and bridal candidates coming to my island for a tour. I knew that without a doubt some of them would want to buy things from me, things that were not for sale and never would be but Vikings are nothing if not stubborn. I knew this could lead to some problems but I had the feeling I'd be able to handle it, I just hoped it doesn't lead to a war since that's the last thing I wanted. I let out a sigh and knew I just needed to deal with it tomorrow since for tonight I needed to get some sleep and deal with it tomorrow. With this in mind I closed my eyes and enjoyed the peaceful embrace of sleep.
AN: Hey all, I hope you all enjoyed the chapter and will remember to review kindly because the next chapter we go onto the island tour. Also, for those of you who didn't like Hiccup being able to beat all those warriors both literally and figuratively single handed I'd like to say the man has taken on demons plus the standard Viking style is to go in swinging and focusing purely on strength while Hiccups fighting style focuses on strategy, speed and strength. Because of this those guys wouldn't have stood a chance since brute force always loses out to strategy and with his mixture of dragons' style and the various forms of ninjutsu those warriors didn't stand a chance. Anyway, I was surprised I was able to finish this chapter so soon so as always don't expect to see this happen often since I post them when I can and I hope you all remember to review.
