Chapter 154
Hiccups POV:
It's been three weeks since I got back from my battle in the lands of the spirit people and in that time, I have been kept busy with the gifts I got from the spirits mainly mastering the power of the pendant which actually scared me a bit. I knew that despite my fear for the power my pendant now possessed it would be helpful in dealing with breaking into enemy fortresses and taking out people from the inside without alerting others. The power my pendant now had was the power to create this strange black fog like substance from my hands that I was then able to manipulate and use as a way to attack enemies. The way it works is when this fog touches a person it latches onto them as if it were solid before they lose all senses of sight, touch and hearing making it seem like they're in a dense bog of sorts. I knew I could use this ability to help on stealth operations since it could seep through walls to wrap around victims before pulling them through while fazing the victims' bodies leaving the wall intact. When I activated this power the eyes of the eagle skull glowed red and the feathers turned black making it look more intimidating than it originally did. I figured I'd only use it for stealth missions and interrogations since this fog scared even me and I'm the one in control of it.
As for my other gifts, the silver bear skull I was given as a reminder of my battle now rested in the trophy room on its own white marble pedestal. Along with this the leather I was given had been turned into a silver colored saddle for Aylen who looked lovely in it and I even had enough leather over to make a saddle quiver for some of my arrows and bow. I did have to use my star sword to cut the leather into the appropriate shapes though since when I tried it with a regular knife it wouldn't even tear or wrinkle the leather. As for my bow, I'd been running multiple tests on its new capabilities and I had to say I was impressed with the new capabilities and how helpful they'd be in the future. To begin with the blades on my bow were sharp enough to cut through gronkle iron meaning I'd be able to use my bow to fight off opponents that got too close to me when I was using it. As for the distance it could launch it turns out if I focused my thoughts on something out of my sight due to distance I could hit it which is an ability I could use to deliver messages to Berk when I'm away.
Then there's the new arrows which I had a total of nine new types, each with their own unique abilities that I knew were going to come in handy for not just combat but in some cases, they'd be helpful in other activities. To begin with there's my arrows with black fletching's which I had named 'Void Arrows' because of the abilities they possess. When these arrows hit something, they create a black void that spreads ten feet engulfing what its hit before it disappears with what the void it strikes a person or animal however engulfs them in a black sphere that sucks in other people for thirty seconds before disappearing leaving the ones caught in it behind but unconsciousbut when it hits the ground it can create a way this trap works is a dark void opens in the ground when someone steps on it and spits victims out unconscious and unharmed after a few seconds. If someone other than me took one of these arrows they are engulfed in a small black sphere for thirty seconds before they're dropped to the ground unconscious. These arrows would be useful for setting traps when hunting boars that I wanted alive and stealthily opening up walls in enemy fortresses on rescue missions since I'd be able to silently evacuate the ones I'm rescuing.
There are the arrows with greenish misty blue fletching that I'd named 'Banshee arrows because of their unique ability that activates on they hit something, they vanish but not before letting out a shriek that resembles a banshee and makes everyone within twenty feet drop to their knees holding their ears or risk their eardrums could also be used to create traps on the ground by stabbing them into it so when someone steps on them the arrows let out the shriek disorienting the victims. I figure this arrow will be good for disorienting large groups of armed enemies since they'd all drop their weapons to cover their ears to try and block out the sound and Odin help anyone who picked one up since that sets them off at close range.
My arrows that had fletching that are white and silver I'd named my 'Shower Arrows' due to their ability, which I knew without a drought, was going to help when dealing with large groups. The reason for this is when I fire a single one of these arrows it turns into a shower of twenty-five normal arrows at once like with my scimitar throwing knives lunar mirage it's fired with another one of my spirit arrows howeverthe arrows the arrows it splits into become the same kind of arrow that the original was launched with. Because of this I figured it best to be careful when deciding what types of arrows, I used together with it since they could cause some serious damage. When someone picked up one of these arrows nothing happens but when they launch it the arrows would turn around and hit the person.
The next arrow I tested had a fletching that was white with yellow lighting pattern on them, which I'd given the name 'Cage arrows' because of what they launched it splits into multiple arrows that surround victims in a circle before growing into poles connected by lightning forming a fence. When I stab one into the ground it splits up into five arrows that then sink into the ground and when someone enters the circle they pop out making a cage. I knew these arrows would be helpful when it comes to hunting down prey when I wanted it alive and capturing enemieswho were trying to make a run for it. When someone else picks one up the arrow would shock him or her making them drop it before it would split up and form a cage around them.
There's also my arrows with silver fletching's that I called 'Bola Wrapping arrows' that were without a doubt going to help with capturing enemies alive. When the arrow is launched a long-roped bola and when it strikes a victim the rope stretches out grabbing onto those nearby and pulls them in. When the victims are together white wrappings burst from the head of the arrow cocooning them like mummies trapping them in the bandages. When I stab or fire them into the ground it creates a trap in which bandages immediately shoot out and wrap up victims when they step onto the spot. When someone picks them up however they're immediately cocooned and drop to the ground unable to move leaving them trapped.
Then there are my arrows that have brown and green colored fletching which I had named 'Digger arrows' since their ability allows them to I launch these arrows their head spin rapidly with enough speed and strength that they can drill through gronkle iron in seconds. When shot into the side of a mountain though they dig for twenty feet and leave a tunnel that's fifteen feet of this I plan to mainly use it for mining, sinking enemy ships quickly and for digging trenches to lead rivers down different directions for I stab them into the ground however I can use them to create pit traps that are fifteen feet deep and already covered preventing targets from seeing them. When picked up by someone they begin spinning heating up in the persons hand making them drop them allowing the arrow to form a pit the second it hits the ground.
There are arrows with fletching that are black with a tint of grey in color, which I had named my 'Darkness arrows' due to their ability. The way it works is when launched and hit their target before creating a dark dome that covers fifteen feet and blocks out all light and sound for an hour. This left my opponents open for attack since the darkness of the dome doesn't affect me other than everything looking like it were in a shadow. When stabbed into the ground it sets up a trap that will activate the dome when someone steps on the spot it lands on and if someone picks it up they are covered by the dome for an hour.
There's also the brownish yellow colored the fletching arrow that I named my 'Rope arrows' due to their abilities when launched. When launched it fires it launches a rope back from the end forming a zip line for the personso it'll come in handy when I'm travelling down cliff sides. When it hits a person however it fires the other end back and when the other end hits something the arrow pulls the rope back in yanking the person back to the other it pulls the victim back however it does so with such speed and force it makes them slam into whatever the other end is imbedded in hard enough to knock them out. I knew this arrow would come in handy when it came to capturing fleeing enemies since it would pull them back to me and it would also come in handy for taking enemies on guard posts out since I could use the arrows to take them out. When someone else holds it though, one end shoots out to latch onto something before pulling the victim into that item and if it doesn't knock them out it'll at least hurt.
Finally, there are my arrows with swamp green fletching's that I gave the name 'Swamp slime arrows' due to their ability when launched. When they hit their target, they knock opponents back while spraying sticky swamp green slime that's so sticky it holds the enemies against whatever they land against whether it be the ground or the wall. Theycan also be used to create slime traps by stabbing them into the ground so when someone steps on the spot the slimeforms for twenty feet leaving anyone who steps onto the slime trapped for three hours. When someone touches it though it just explodes with goo covering the victim in goo leaving them completely unable to move and trapped until the goo evaporates in an hour.
Other than mastering my new gifts from the gods I'd mostly been spending time with Blanca, my animals, my dragons, catching up on my reading and avoiding Berk or to be more precise its people. Since I got back a few of the people have been curious about my spirit bows new arrows and when they found out about them some of them asked for me to use some of them. Some people wanted me to use my new arrows to dispose of their garbage, which they normally disposed of by burning it but it always left the smell of trash in the air and with my void arrows they were hoping to avoid this since it destroys the trash with no trouble. A couple of the builders wanted to use the rope arrows to help them makes some repairs to a bridge that was damaged on the other end and they wanted to work from both ends. There was also a large group of hunters who wanted me to join them on a large boar hunt to capture them using my new cage arrows. Not So Silent Fin also wanted a couple of my cage arrows to keep his sheep in line since they kept getting out meaning he had to keep chasing them down.
Now normally I'd go to my father for help concerning this but sadly I went to him for help he became one of the Vikings who was bugging me except his interest was in my digger arrows. The towns water well was running dry and he wanted me to use the digger arrows to save everyone some time in digging a new one. Along with this the rain season was just around the corner and when the rain comes it always brings massive floods with it that do damage to the huts that can't be repaired due to the rain coming down too hard. My dad wanted me to use the arrows to create trenches that lead to the cliffs on the hills that ran with the most water during the rain so the water would go into the ocean instead of the village preventing flooding.
I didn't have a problem with helping out my dad prepare the village for the coming rain season but the problem was this led to me spending more time on Berk. Because of my time being spent on Berk multiple people had been given more opportunities to talk to me and ask me to use my new arrows to help them out. Along with this I'd had to also deal with people asking me if they could spend the rainy season on my island and I have to admit I couldn't blame them since during the rainy season everyone was stuck inside except for Snotlout who often stood out in the middle of the village naked with a brush and bar of soap. The village had been having meetings about that and all agreed it needed to stop but unfortunately Snotlout just brushes off the complaints he receives.
It was because of all of this I didn't get a moments peace in the village and I wasn't the only one who was not happy with the villagers not leaving me alone. Gobber wasn't too happy either since whenever I came by to drop off his gronkle iron delivery people would come and bug me about helping them out or letting them stay on my island preventing me from reaching Gobber. That wasn't the only problem they were causing for Gobber though since they'd been pestering him to talk to me about trying to let people spend time on my island figuring he'd have better luck since we are close. Fortunately, whenever they did this they would often end up disturbing Grumps naptime and if there's one thing I know about hotburples it's that you never disturb their naptime unless you want a lava blast in the face. I'm pretty sure Gobbers love for Grump grew whenever he drove off one of the more persistent and annoying Vikings who refused to take no for an answer.
My parents were also suffering because of this as the people have been trying to convince them to order me to open up my island to the public during the rainy season. They thought that since they were my parents and my dad was chief that they'd be able to order me to give them access to my island. My mom would tell them that it was my island and as such I had the right to choose whom I let onto my island and my dad would tell them the same thing. The thing about my father though is that he was originally thinking about talking to me about it but my mom stopped him with the threat of making him sleep with the dragons through the rain season.
When this first started however I figured I'd be able to at least find some peace on my island but it was not meant to be, as people would try to sneak onto it. My dragons always caught them before they could reach it and if they did reach it then either my animals or snake guardians would capture them. Despite this it was really grating on my nerves since whenever they were caught on my island the people were brought to me to be dealt with. Whenever they were brought to me however I was often busy just trying to relax by simply taking a walk through my, surfing, taking a dip in my pool or other such things. The worst and most often times they've come though is when I'm just trying to spend a little peaceful time with Blanca by walking together, singing together, going on picnics together, enjoying a meal together and just enjoying each other's company. Seriously I'd just wanted alone time with my wife to catch up on what I missed when I was away and they couldn't allow me to have that. Blanca was able to keep me calm though claiming I couldn't blame them for wanting to be able to spend some time on my island though since it beat being stuck in their huts bored out of their heads for a few weeks.
Now it was nightfall and I was lying in bed in nothing but my pants sleeping soundly with Blanca wearing her inner kimono sleeping soundly with her head on my chest and my left arm wrapped around her and Zhang Yong sleeping at the foot of our bed. It was moments like these that I was truly at peace and was grateful for the life I had and knew that the hardships I'd endured to get what I had including my beloved wife. Sadly, my time of peace was once again ended by the sound of someone knocking on my door making me open my eyes with a groan before I silently muttered.
"This better be good." I gently pushed Blanca off my chest and lay her head onto the pillow careful not to wake her and made my way to the door while signaling Zhang Yong who was now awake to go back to sleep and slowly opened it to see one of my male snake guardians with a baldhead who bowed when I opened the door. "What is it?"
"Forgive the intrusion master but there's a situation that requires your attention." I sighed.
"Give me a moment to get my grootslang coat and I'll be out in a moment." He nodded as I closed the door and walked over to the stand where my grootslang coat was hanging and took my grootslang coat before putting it on and walked back to the door but before I left I turned back to face Blanca. "I'll be back soon my beloved serpent." I walked outside where the snake guardian was waiting for me as I silently closed the door and turned back to him. "Now what's so important you had to wake me up at this ungodly hour?" He bowed.
"Please forgive me master but we caught three intruders coming in on the beach of the islands Hawaiian section." I raised an eyebrow.
"How did they get their ship past Wavechomper?" He raised his body up from the bow.
"They didn't, their small ship was sunk and they washed up on the beach where they were caught." I sighed.
"Have to remember to retrieve the ship tomorrow." I then turned my attention back to the snake guardian. "Any idea on who the trespassers are." He nodded.
"Those two Thorston twins and that Jorgenson boy." I groaned and slapped my forehead.
"Snotlout and the twins Ruffnut and Tuffnut." I pulled my hand away. "Why am I not surprised?" I sighed. "Where are they now?"
"In the snake cave awaiting you to pass judgment on them." I groaned.
"Let's get this over with." With that said we made our way out of the house as I muttered about how I couldn't even enjoy a good night's sleep due to people trespassing.
Half-an-hour later
Snotlout and the twins were now in separate cells in my dungeon since it was way too late to return them to Berk with my dragons all being asleep and the dock workers of Berk also most likely sleeping. I would've taken them home to Berk but I knew my dragons would not have been happy if I woke them up so late for this and I couldn't take them by ship since I highly doubt the dockworkers of Berk want to wake up for this. The reason those three are in the dungeon is because I didn't want them wondering around my island or my home in the middle of the night and they were trespassers. Before I had them locked up though I asked them why they'd chosen to invade my island this late at night and discovered that they believed they could sneak on under the cover of night and hide out somewhere until the rain season past.
Now I was sitting in my library, sitting on my chair in front of the fire, staring at the flames of the fire burning in the fireplace thinking about how I would love to just enjoy some down time without being interrupted. It was then I felt familiar arms of my wife wrap around my shoulders making me sigh as I leant back into her embrace. I opened my eyes enjoying the feeling as she rubbed my bare chest that was exposed due to my open grootslang coat while Zhang Yong walked up to my side and sat down next to me. It was then she said.
"I was wandering where you went."
"I'm sorry Blanca but sadly we had some late-night visitors to our island who needed to be dealt with." She sighed.
"Who was it this time?"
"Snotlout and the twins."
"They're truly stubborn, aren't they?"
"For Vikings it's an occupational hazard." She giggled but I'm guessing my mood showed since she stopped and used both hands to caress my face.
"What's wrong my beloved husband?" This showed me how worried she was since she only uses nicknames like that when she's worried about me.
"It's just that ever since I've gotten back I've hardly had a moments peace with the people of Berk asking me for favors and wanting to stay on my island for the rain season." She sighed.
"I know how troubling it is for you Hiccup, I'm not too happy with the trouble either since when you got back I was hoping to have some time to enjoy your company but with the people constantly pulling you away we don't get as much as I'd like." It was then a voice from above us said.
"Perhaps you two should leave the island together for a while to get some peace." We both turned to the sound of the voice to find Verta in the inner part of her light green kimono standing on top of one of the ladders looking through the books as I asked.
"What are you doing here Verta?"
"I'm having a little trouble sleeping so I figured I'd come here to do a little reading." She then gave a mischievous smile. "Imagine my surprise when I find my sister and her husband talking at this late hour."
"How much did you hear?"
"Enough to know that you're tired of having your quiet time with your wife being constantly interrupted by people either wanting to ask you favors or wanting to stay on your island." I sighed.
"What can I say other than I'd like a little time away from the people of Berk and their constant demands of me so I can just enjoy an uninterrupted date with my wife?" She giggled.
"From what I've seen over the time my people have been with you on this island, you'd have to go to the bottom of the ocean if you want an uninterrupted date." When she said this Blanca giggled as my eyes widened in realization making me stand up and turn to her.
"Verta, you're a genius." She stared down at me in confusion and let out a confused.
"Thank you." I turned back to Blanca who looked at me just as confused as Verta.
"Blanca, would you please accompany me on a date under the waves of the sea." She raised an eyebrow. "You forget my love, I have a ship that when strapped to the back of my Shell Fire dragon Tephra can be used to take trips below the waves." I then gently took her right hand in my prosthetic. "And I'd love to take you on a trip below the waves for the day where the only ones we'll have to deal with is each other." Her look of confusion turned into a shy smile as she blushed and looked down.
"You always know the right words to say to ask me on a date and to make me blush."
"What can I say?" She looked up at me. "When you blush is one of the times you are most beautiful in my eyes." She giggled as I used my real hand to gently caress her face. "So, tell me, is that a yes to my question?" She closed her eyes and nuzzled her face into my hand and nodded. "I'm looking forward to it my dear." She then pulled away.
"As am I my love."
"For now, though I think we should return to bed." She nodded before I lead her back to the bedroom where we spent the rest of the night embracing each other.
Morning
It's been five hours since my day began with the suns light shining through the bedroom window and onto my sweet Blanca and I. When it did however I felt it had come too soon but I knew it was time to greet the day had arrived and that I had to begin my day by delivering Snotlout and the twins to Berk. When I delivered them to Berk aboard my ship I had to do so With Toothless and four of my snake guardians since I had the feeling they might try to make a run for it. The entire village was given a show of the three being led to their homes where their parents were waiting for them and they weren't happy with their children when I dropped them off since when they woke up and they weren't there they worried. Their parents promised me they'd punish their children for sneaking off and invading my island in the middle of the night and disturbing everyone's sleep. When we got back I enjoyed breakfast of boar meat, eggs and fruit with Blanca before I went to prepare Tephra by placing my submersible ship onto his back.
Now I was in my submersible ships domestic section with Toothless lying against the wall behind me, Kal swimming outside, Zhang Yong sitting down next to me on my right and Blanca on my left with my real arm wrapped around her. We were now what I'd say was two hundred feet below the ocean far off from Berk enjoying the peace that could only be found at the bottom of the ocean. I looked out the window at the shipwreck where I had just sent my three fish scouts who I was keeping an eye on through the peer stones connected to the eye of the dragon. It was then Blanca let out a content sigh making me turn to my attention to her to see her smiling face staring out the window as she said.
"I never knew a shipwreck could look so beautiful." I nodded and turned my attention back to the window.
"I know the feeling from when I first started looting sunken ships." She rested her head on my shoulder.
"Do you ever find anything in these ships?" I nodded.
"You'd be surprised at the treasures that are trapped within the shipwrecks that are stranded at the bottom of the ocean."
"I never knew." She then turned to me. "Those automatons you sent into the ship, are they going to bring back the any treasure they find in the ship?" I chuckled making her raise an eyebrow but I smiled at her.
"Sorry, I forgot this is your first time joining me in my submersible ship to see my automatons at work." I then turned back to the window. "To answer your question, no those automatons aren't going to collect the treasure, they're just scouts who are checking out the wreckage for anything worth collecting." It was then something my automatons found caught my attention. "Hold on, I've got something." I focused the eye of the dragon on that one automatons peer stone so I could see what it was and was surprised by the sight of a struggling dragon trapped beneath a piece of the wreckage.
"What is it?" I turned to Blanca.
"It's a dragon but it's stuck under some of the wreckage." Her eyes widened. "It must've been chasing some fish through the wreckage and gotten trapped."
"So, what are you going to do?" I smiled at her.
"What I always do when I find a dragon in trouble." I took off my grootslang coat and put it on one of the chairs while taking out my merrow cap. "Save it and train it." She smiled.
"I love it when you get that look in your eyes." She stroked my cheek. "It's the same look you had when we were in the Taoist chamber and you promised me that you'd be there and wouldn't let anything happen to me." She then sighed. "It was that look in your eye that made me realize I'd fallen in love with you and made me fall deeper in love with you." I smiled.
"I'll never forget that moment in our lives since it was then I realized I'd fallen for you my precious snake." We leaned in towards each other and met in a kiss as I embraced her that was broken when Toothless let out a growl reminding us that we weren't alone and making us blush. "I better get going since there's no telling how badly hurt that dragon may be." She nodded before letting me go as I placed my merrow cap on, removed my spider pack placing it on the table and removing my armor before I stood it up against the wall.
"Hiccup, how are you going to get out into the ocean?"
"There's an air tight room with a sealed trap door that I can use to exit the ship without flooding it." She nodded before caressing my face.
"Just be careful Hiccup, we don't know about what this dragon will do when it sees you." I nodded.
"Don't worry Blanca, I know how to deal with worried dragons." With that said I made my way down to the store room before walking to the far back and into the airtight room that lead outside and shut the door tight before locking it as I took a breath. "Let's do this."
I unlocked the trapdoor leading to the outside and made sure my merrow cap was on tight before I jumped right into the water and into the sea. I smiled at the feeling of the water completely surround my body as I sank into the water before I began swimming out of the tunnel that lead to the outside. I swam up to the side of the ship where the windows were and smiled as I reached one of the windows where Blanca, Toothless and Zhang Yong were looking out. I swam up to the side of the window and waved at them making Blanca giggle and wave back at me before she blew me a kiss. I smiled at her and waved one last time before I turned around and began swimming towards the shipwreck where I knew I'd find the dragon.
I slowly swam through the wreckage using some of the debris to pull myself forward towards the room where I knew the dragon was trapped. When I got to the room I found the dragon struggling beneath a fallen support beam trying to get out from beneath it until its eyes landed on me at which point it stopped to stare at me in confusion. I just smiled and slowly used my legs to swim up to it with my hands up to show I wasn't armed as I closed in on it. When I closed in on it the bottom of its chin lit up exposing tendrils that were the source of the light allowing me to see enough of this dragon for me to know it was a shockjaw. A tidal class species of dragon that were known to be the fastest flyers of the tidal classes who were like most tidal classes and didn't have a fire blast. Instead these dragons had an electric blast that could go from a small jolt to a lethal shock that could take down an entire ship with a single blast. The place this blast was most effective however was under water meaning I had to be careful when dealing with this dragon since the last thing I wanted was to be on the receiving end of one of those blasts. When I reached the dragon I slowly reached out to it with the palm of my real hand and looked away for a few seconds before I felt the warmth of wet scales against the palm of my hand. I turned back to face the dragon just as it was pulling away and saw this one had sea green scales with the underbelly and chin being a brighter shade while the ridge on its back was light ocean blue that matched the tendrils on its chin and horn on its nose. I smiled at the dragon before I said.
"Let's get you out of here." I swam up to the side of the support beam that was holding it down and released my star sword making the shockjaw lean away from me. "Don't worry, I didn't bring this sword out to cut you up." I raised it and quickly brought it down on the support beam cutting through it with no trouble and making the part that wasn't on top of the shockjaw slowly float down to the ground as I collapsed my starsword. "Now that the loads a little lighter, let's get the rest off you." I reached beneath the support beam that was still on top of the shockjaw and lifted it up forcing my feet to the ground as I lifted until the shockjaw swam out from beneath it and swam up behind me as I smiled and dropped the support beam to the ground. "Glad to see you're alright." It swam up to me and nuzzled my chest making me smile as I petted what I knew to be the males' head. "You want to come with me?" He tilted his head. "I have a dragons stable back on my island where you'll be able to make your own nest and won't have to worry about any trouble." It looked down unsure. "I know your dragon species prefers to live in solitude but there's a special section for tidal classes and you can have your own nest where you can live and won't be bothered that often." He growled and nodded making me smile. "Let's get out of here pal." He growled and nodded before we swam out of the wreckage but when the shockjaw saw Tephra he backed up but I placed my hand on his back. "Don't worry, Tephra won't hurt you." He growled but I could see the fear in his eyes so I kept my hand on his back and lead him towards Tephra before I swam up to him and rubbed his nose making him growl in pleasure and turned back to the shockjaw. "See, she won't hurt you." The shockjaw swam up and in reply Tephra just bowed her head and the shockjaw bowed back making me smile. "Now I'm going back into the ship and I'll have Tephra surface and return to the nest so just follow her."
The shockjaw nodded as I swam along the side of the ship and pulled myself into the tunnel leading to the airtight room and climbed through the hole in the floor and into the room. I stood up and stretched while smiling before I remembered my fish scout automatons were still in the ship exploring it. When I checked in on them I found one of them had swam into the storage hold which was full of gold and jewels making me smile. I knew before we left I'd need to release my loot sharks to raid it before we left. I walked back through the door shutting it tight behind me after I entered the storeroom while grabbing a towel that was hung up next to the door. I walked over to wear my loot sharks were sitting and pulled the lever that activated the mechanism that released them into the ocean and watched them go as I continued to dry my body of the saltwater.
I kept an eye on my loot sharks through the peerstones while calling my fish scouts back to their slots in the ship so my loot sharks could do their job. I made my way up the steps into the domestic section of the ship where Blanca, Toothless and Zheng Yong were waiting for me. Blanca turned to me as I entered the room rubbing the towel against my hair to finish drying it off as I smiled at her before making my way up to her. I draped the towel over my shoulder smiling as I said.
"Turns out the dragons a shockjaw but it's free now and trained." Blanca smiled as she walked up to me.
"I'm glad you weren't hurt Hiccup." I gently wrapped my arms around her.
"Don't worry Blanca, it takes a lot to hurt me." I then turned to the window where the shock jaw was looking through at us. "Seems our new friend is curious." She giggled and walked up to the window gently reaching out for it but pulled back for a moment but I gently took her hand and placed it against the window. "I know these things can be scary at times Blanca but as long as I'm here, I'll never let anything happen to you." She gave me her gentle smile that always made me feel warm inside before she turned back to the window and scrunched her eyes trying to make something out.
"Hiccup, what are those things breaking into the ship?" I turned to see what she was looking at and smiled before I put my arm around her waist.
"Those my dear are my loot sharks and right now they're just looting the ship of the treasure inside." She nodded as I let her go and began to get dressed. "As soon as they're done looting the ship, we'll head home to help our new friend settle into the nest." She nodded.
"That'll be nice." I turned to her as I put my grootslang coat back on. "I love being alone with you and it's incredible down here in the ocean but it might be time for us to head home." I nodded.
"I think you're right Blanca." I looked out the window and up towards the surface but couldn't see much. "It might have gotten late while we enjoyed the peace of the ocean." With that said I walked over to a lever on the side of the wall that would activate a mechanism to signal Tephra to rise. "Let's head home."
With those final words I pulled the lever and we began to rise to begin the journey home but as we did I couldn't help but smiling since it was nice to have a little down time after how busy things had been. I knew things were only going to get worse when the rain season arrived since it always meant trouble even before I met Toothless. The real busy days however were always after the rain season since with rain gone people can get to work and start repairing the damages the rain caused. That means I'll be on Berk more than ever helping Gobber in the forge making nails and other tools while also spending time in the forest gathering wood to turn into planks to repair the damages. For now, I just needed to enjoy the peaceful times while they last.
AN: Yeah, I know not that exciting but I wanted to show what the new arrows could do while giving Hiccup a little down time with Blanca plus it's been a while since Hiccup added another dragon to his stables. Anyway, I hope despite the lack of excitement you'll still review kindly and continue reading this story. Also, there's going to be a new poll being posted on my profile so please vote because it goes down next week Friday so please vote and please review.
