Chapter 264
Hiccups POV:
Yesterday was the day I'd sent my son off to train under the Ancient One who had a training scroll that would allow him to train under master Shen once his training under the Ancient one was done. Although only a day had passed for us, I knew it had been a lot longer for him from my past experiences when I myself trained under the masters. Still though, I figured he'd be back by yesterday evening like me when I went to train under the Ancient One but a little later since he'd be spending a bit of time in the training scroll, learning under Master Shen. Now I was in the gazebo in the bamboo forest, silently listening to the sound of DÅgame gently beating his gong back with the only other sound being my pandas munching on the bamboo. These moments of peace are when I was truly able to remember how far I'd come from the weak little runt who was always desperate to prove himself to his people before realizing the only person I needed to prove myself to is myself. It was then I was brought out of my thoughts when I sensed another presence behind me and I sighed before asking.
"Who's there?" I heard a familiar chuckle.
"Well that's some way to greet your returning son." A smile formed on my face.
"I was wondering when you'd be back and I see training under the Ancient One has paid off since I didn't even here you coming." I opened my eyes and stood up before turning to face my son and saw he was wearing black ninja clothes before he rushed up and hugged me.
"I missed you dad." I hugged him back but as I did, I noticed something.
"Seems you've grown a bit of muscle." He pulled away but I kept my hands on his shoulders.
"Came with the training under the Ancient One and Master Shen." I chuckled.
"I know that feeling all too well but for now, let's go see your mothers and Chara since I'm sure you missed them as well." He smiled.
"I did since it may have just been a day for you guys, it was over a year for me." I then felt a little mischievous.
"If that's the case then maybe you'd prefer to meet up with a certain young wolfwalker who gave you that kiss goodbye when you left." His face turned red before he looked down in embarrassment as I chuckled. "Come on, let's go let everyone know you're back." He nodded and with that said we took off.
Nightfall
Night had fallen over the island and as I lay there in bed, I couldn't help but think back on the day's events and I had to say what had happened today filled me with such pride in Brant. After letting everyone know he was back I had him give us all a demonstration of what he'd learnt under both the Ancient One and Master Shen. I was not the least bit disappointed in the skills he showed us in both ninjutsu and dragon style Kung Fu since although he wasn't up to my level yet, he had definitely progressed in his training. This was proven when he asked me for a sparring match against me and he was able to last a lot longer than he used to and he was actually able to get a few of his own blows in. This was proof enough to my ninja that he was ready for the next level of training and agreed to bump up his training in a week when his training restarts since I felt he deserved some time to spend with his family after so long away from all of us. This was something I intended to do since I wanted to enjoy a little father son time with him, enjoying some hunting, fishing, hiking and other such things. For now, though, I was happy to just get some sleep while embracing the women that I was lucky enough to call my wives who I was now embracing and allowed myself to embrace slumber.
1 Week later
It's been a week since Brant got back and that time has been spent enjoying my days of peace with Brant reconnecting with the family and the islands inhabitants. Sadly, when word got out that he'd returned a lot of the teenage Viking warriors wanted to see if he'd gotten any stronger and challenged him to a few fights. I was against it, but Brant was all for it since it would give him the chance to show everyone what he'd learned but I think he just wanted to impress Robyne who was watching the fights. As expected, the teens used a typical Viking style which mainly focused on using pure brute strength to overpower their opponent so as expected, Brant mopped the floor with them.
It's understandable though since a key factor in all forms of Kung Fu is to take your opponent's strengths and use it against them which in the case of dragon style, Brant would grab the part they were using to deliver the blow and redirect it. This combined with his ninja training to enhance his speed and reflexes meant that the fights didn't even last two minutes before Brants opponents were down for the count. The week pretty much went on with Brant being challenged to a fight by someone at least once a day but Brant didn't seem to mind since as he told me, it kept his skills sharp.
Now here we are a week later with Brant ready to continue his training, but I wanted to do something before he begun which brings us to now. Everyone was all over the island doing their own thing, Toothless helping to keep an eye on the nightfuries, Blanca helping train the snake guardians alongside Verta, Astrid going through a couple of flying drills on Stormfly in my coliseum, Hadasa was tending to the gardens, the wolf walkers were enjoying time in the forest, Chara was with Wind practicing close combat with her kunai and Arachne was weaving in the forest. As for me I was standing next to Brant in front of the golden dragon armoury. I placed a hand on his shoulder as he stared at me in shock before he asked.
"Can I really claim another item from the armoury after I got my spear?" I smiled at him.
"Go ahead Brant, you earned it and with some luck you'll walk out with a piece of armour for defence instead of a weapon for offense."
He nodded before he made his way into the armoury and it was then time for me to play the waiting game and leaned against the wall and began creating new weapon and armour designs in my mind. Fortunately, the wait didn't take that long since five minutes later, the muzzle of the golden dragon opened up once more and Brant walked out with a big smile on his face and I could see why. He was now wearing a black leather upper body armour that had a silver crescent moon shape facing up om the middle of the chest with matching leather bracers strapped to his forearms. This armour was clearly had multiple lairs with one being placed on top of the other since the one above the other was a little shorter, so it exposed the lair beneath it and had two large shoulder guards. I remember when I made that armour out of black leather and added the bracers with it to make the upper body protection complete, making the armour a set with the bracers. Looking Brant up and down though, it was easy to tell that the armour was perfectly suited for him with how it seemed to stick to his body like a second skin and seemed to suit him perfectly. I walked up to him and asked.
"How does it feel?" He smiled.
"Feels incredible dad and I can't wait to see what it can do." I nodded.
"Well I know one thing it can do." He raised an eyebrow. "Make it impossible for Robyne to keep her hands off you since you look so good." He blushed bright red at this but before he could reply a voice from next to me said.
"Your father is not wrong about it looking good on you." We both jumped in surprise and turned to where the voice came from and saw none other than The Ancient One, who at this point was chuckling at our surprise.
"Ancient One?" He smiled at me and I immediately bowed. "I am honoured to have you in my home but what brings you to my home?"
"I thought you would like to know about how well your son performed while my sons would like to know how to further his training and I was also curious to see how far his little sister has come in her own training." I looked at him before a smile came to his face. "I also cannot deny that I have been wanting to get out of my homeland to see where my sons and latest students call home." I smiled at him.
"So, in other words, you just wanted to take a short vacation and saw an opportunity to do so." He chuckled.
"You have improved in your ability to read people and see their other reasons for doing what they do." I bowed.
"A student is only as good as their masters training allows them to be." He bowed back.
"And with hard work, the student shall one day surpass the master." I smiled at this. "But at the rate you're going, you'll be older than I am by the time you surpass my sons." I gave the Ancient One a playful glare as he chuckled. "Now I don't suppose asking for a tour would be asking too much." I smiled.
"Not at all Ancient One and while we're at it, we can introduce you to the islands other occupants." He smiled.
"I look forward to it."
With that said we made our way out of the forge so we could begin the tour and introductions and after using my automatons that I have posted all over the island, I figured Hadasa would be best since she was out in the garden at the moment, checking on the flowers. We walked out into the garden and I couldn't help but smile at the sight since no matter how often I saw it, it was always a wonderful thing to look at with the various colours and scents around us. It was then my eyes landed on the wonderful flower that was my wife Hadasa who was gently tending to the roses at the back, making me smile. As we made our way over towards her though, The Ancient One smiled and asked.
"I take it she is one of your wives?"
"Yeah, she's my third wife Hadasa."
"The woman who enslaved you while she was being possessed by a demon?"
"That's the one."
"Brant did tell me she was able to regain her human form but also still had her powers to control plants." Before I could reply, Hadasa turned back and said.
"I also kept my ability to hear when people are talking about me while behind me." I smiled at her and walked up.
"Sorry Hadasa, we weren't trying be rude or anything." She giggled.
"I know but may I ask who our new guest is?" The Ancient One smiled.
"I am the one who has been training your adoptive son in the art of being a ninja." Hadasa's eyes widened.
"You're the Ancient One?" He nodded.
"And you are Hadasa." He bowed to her. "It is nice to meet you." Hadasa quickly bowed back.
"It's an honour Ancient One." She stood back up straight. "Both Hiccup and Brant have told me so much about you but if you don't mind me asking, what brings you to our humble island?"
"A simple desire to see where my students live along with the desire to see what place my sons now call home." She nodded.
"So, have you met anyone else on the island?"
"Not yet but I am looking forward to meeting the others." She smiled.
"Well I can assure you; everyone has been hoping to meet you."
"The feeling is mutual my dear but for now, we'll allow you to get back to work." She smiled.
"You're right, I have to get to the crop garden so I can collect the fruit for lunch." We both nodded before me and her shared a quick kiss and took off to continue with the tour.
Half-an-hour later
It's been half an hour since the Ancient One was introduced to Hadasa and since then he's met both my other wives along with the Verta, the snake guardians, wolfwalkers and Arachne. The introductions to the snake guardians took a little extra time since when Verta was introduced to the Ancient One, she laughed while asking me if it was some sort of joke, claiming that calling a tiny fat man a great master and warrior was the most ridiculous thing she'd ever heard. As one could expect, the Ancient One asked for the chance to prove her wrong and challenged her to a fight which she accepted but as expected, he used a nerve attack on her when she struck for the first time and she was down for the count. This not only shut her up but earned the Ancient One a lot of respect from all the snake guardians who bowed to him in respect as we left their lair while Blanca helped Verta.
Now we were on our way to the bamboo forest where Wind was training Chara in close quarter combat using kunai and from what I could see through my scouter's eyes, she was doing pretty well. It was then we walked into the clearing where Wind was demonstrating a leg sweep that was quickly followed by a kunai stab to the ground where the leg sweep was done. It was easy to tell the leg sweep was meant to trip an opponent while the kunai stab was to finish them off by taking them out before they had the chance to recover. I watched as Chara performed the same move but before I could say anything, the Ancient One said.
"Raise your leg an inch higher when you do the leg sweep little one, it'll cut back on the resistance allowing for a stronger blow." Chara turned to him as did Wind who immediately dropped to the ground in a bow confusing Chara.
"Chara sweetie, allow me to introduce the Ancient One."
"The one who you sent Brant to train under?" I nodded before she ran up and hugged him much to all our confusion and the Ancient One's surprise until she said.
"Thankyou for not keeping my brother for too long." The Ancient One chuckled and gently hugged her back.
"You are welcome little one." He then gently let go with her doing the same. "Now could you show me your hands a moment." She nodded and showed them before he gently took her wrists while humming and nodding. "You can tell a lot about a person from their hands." When he said this, I got curious.
"You can?" He nodded before Brant said.
"He did the same thing to me and claimed I had a strong grip but was too stiff to properly use my spear to its full potential and needed to loosen them up a bit to find true balance." Before I could reply the Ancient One said.
"Indeed, but in your sister case it's the opposite." I looked at the Ancient One as I asked.
"What do you mean?" Chara then asked.
"Is it bad?" He chuckled and shook his head.
"No little one, it is perfectly normal for one so young who wishes to master the kunai as your current master was the same when I was training him in the beginning." He gently let go of her wrists. "The problem is your grip is too weak which increases the chances of your kunai slipping out of your hand and when going up against an opponent, they shall easily be able to rob you of your weapon and use it against you." Chara nodded. "Along with this, a weak grip will make it dangerous when you are using them for other things." Chara tilted her head.
"Other things like what?" He turned to Wind.
"You haven't shown her the other uses for Kunai?" He shook his head. "Understandable as she is a bit young but you could at least show her the other uses." Brant then asked.
"Is this like when you told me I could use my spear to pole volt and to climb by stabbing it into the wall before swinging myself up and things like that?" He nodded.
"Indeed, and like your spear has many uses, so do the kunai which can be used to climb and slow ones descent when falling near a surface." It was then Brant got a nervous look on his face.
"You're not going to have her jump off a cliff like you had me do for training, are you?" The second I heard him say that I turned to the Ancient One and asked.
"YOU HAD HIM DO WHAT?" The Ancient One turned to me and shrugged.
"He claimed he wanted to up his training level, so I tested him by having him reach the bottom of a valley without touching the walls." I sighed knowing I couldn't win against my former master.
"Just don't let my wives find out or they'll skin us both, you for making Brant do that and me for trusting you with him." He chuckled.
"Women, very few creatures are as complex or as dangerous when angered." I nodded but before I could reply one of my Scouters saw that lunch was ready.
"We'll go over this later since it looks like it's time for lunch." He smiled.
"Now that is a fine idea as I haven't eaten since breakfast." Everyone nodded before I turned to Wind.
"Wind, Chara will have to continue her training after lunch alright?" He nodded before we all took off to eat the lunch of fresh fruit, bread and vegetables Hadasa had so lovingly prepared.
Nightfall
Today had been interesting to say the least since I now had one of my former masters staying with us for a few days along with my son gaining new black leather armour from my golden dragon armoury. Lunch was an interesting affair with my wives and I asking the Ancient One about Brant's training and how he behaved to which the Ancient One replied that Brant was a big headache at first, just like I was. This earned a laugh from everyone and an eyeroll from me before we all continued to eat our food while continuing with a little small talk to pass the time. After that, we continued with the tour of the island except this time Brant had gone off to continue his own training while also trying to get a feel for his new armours' abilities. The tour of the island ended with me and the Ancient One sitting in the gazebo in the centre of the tea fields where we enjoyed a cup of tea like we did when we first met and talked about what's happened since our last meeting. It was here the Ancient One claimed he'd like to stay in the meditation shrine in the bamboo forest claiming it reminded him of the place he grew up in and he found it relaxing.
Now I was making my way towards my bedroom after tucking the kids in to bed and giving Chara her goodnight kiss on the forehead while thinking about how I was going to explain things to my tribe tomorrow when I introduce them all to the Ancient One. The reason I am worried about this is because I know how my people think and one look at the Ancient One would cause a lot of laughter among the people and knowing my master, he would ask for a chance to prove himself. This would result in a sparring match between him and one of the tribe's warriors and knowing the Ancient One, he'd make short work of the chosen warrior. This would be one major headache since Vikings love to put themselves up against strong warriors to improve their own skills meaning that the Ancient One would be receiving a lot more challengers. I sighed and walked into the room to find my wives waiting for me and I'm guessing my annoyance at what was to come since Blanca asked.
"Is everything alright Hiccup?" I sighed and took off my bed robe leaving me in just my pants and slippers with my slippers being removed as well.
"Everything's fine girls, just a little annoyed with all the headaches that I know tomorrow is going to bring." Astrid rolled her eyes and replied.
"I can't blame you, with how Berks warriors are the Ancient One's going to have a lot of people wanting to test their strength against him and if he's even just half as strong as what you and Brant claim, then there's going to be a lot of injuries and a lot of annoyed Vikings." I nodded as I sighed.
"And I'm the one who's going to have to clean up the mess left by the old man." Hadasa replied.
"You are the only one who can near instantly heal the wounds of those who are no doubt going to get their asses handed to them on a silver platter by a very small elderly man." The girls all giggled at this and I couldn't help but smile since it was true.
"Yeah, but the problem is I can only heal physical wounds, not emotional wounds and the pride of those Vikings is going to be bruised and badly at that." They all nodded before Hadasa stood up from the bed and walked up to me with a glint in her eye.
"Well I guess we'll just have to relax you now so you can face the day tomorrow." She turned to the girls on the bed. "What do you say girls, shall we help relax him a bit?" They both smiled but Blanca also blushed a bit as Astrid said.
"Let's do it!" Blanca simply nodded but before I could reply, Hadasa said.
"It's settled then." She then turned to me. "Come here handsome." She then pulled me into a hard kiss and things took off from there into a very good night for me.
Morning
Morning had come way too early for me since me and my wives were up way too late but considering what we were doing, I'd say it was more than worth it. Now we were all sat down at the breakfast table including the wolf walkers who often join us for meals but it took some time to teach Mebh table manners. It was then the Ancient One walked in with a smile on his face as he looked at me to which I smiled back as I said.
"Good morning Ancient One."
"Good morning Hiccup and how are you this morning?"
"Can't complain, had a good evenings sleep." He chuckled.
"I'm surprised you slept." I raised an eyebrow. "Hiccup, I am a ninja master and as such after years of training, my hearing ability has far surpassed that of any other ninja and allowed me to hear what you and your wives were up to last night." I could feel my face begin to heat up before Moll said.
"We also heard you when we were leading the pack since wolves have great hearing." Bill then said.
"Speaking of which." He raised a fist and pumped it up. "Bravo to you for going at it for so long." Everyone chuckled until Chara asked.
"Lasting so long at what?" It was then all adults realised she was still here so I quickly replied.
"Something that you won't have to worry about for a good long time princess so forget about it for now and eat your breakfast." She nodded and sat herself down before she began eating alongside Brant but I could see the look the Ancient One was giving me and I knew he was going to tease me for the remainder of his stay.
1 hour later
The Ancient One, me and my family had just arrived on Berk via portal door and now we'd just finished introducing the Ancient One to the people after my dad called a village meeting. This brings us to now, with me at the back of the Great Hall with the Ancient One at my side and my dad, who had just finished introducing the Ancient One as one of my mentors. For a few moments there was silence but the silence was broken by the sound of laughter coming from none other than Spitelout Jorgenson who was holding his stomach with one hand and pointing at the Ancient One with the other. Before I could say anything though, the Ancient One asked.
"And what is it you find so funny?"
"Hiccup claimed you're one of the most powerful warriors he's ever trained under but that's hard to believe." The Ancient One smiled.
"You assume that just because I look like this, I cannot be a mighty warrior?" He chuckled. "You're just like Hiccup who took time to realize who I was when we were travelling together." He then smiled. "I feel that I will have an easier time showing you who I am though." He walked up to Spitelout. "Could you please give me your arm for a moment." Spitelout looked confused but shrugged and gave the Ancient One his right arm before the Ancient One poked it in seven different spots before letting go while confusing Spitelout further.
"Was that meant to do something?" The Ancient One smiled.
"The body is an incredible piece of art my friend, but it is also a complicated creation so in my youth I spent a lot of time learning every point it has, what each of them do and how to properly strike them to get different results." Gobber then walked up and asked.
"You just struck some of Spitelouts nerves, didn't ya?" The Ancient One nodded as my dad asked.
"And what will those strikes do?" He just chuckled as Spitelout said.
"But I don't feel anything?" It was then I noticed something that shocked me at first but then made me chuckle, making all eyes turned to me as I looked at the Ancient One.
"Ancient One, you are a horrible person at times." He simply smiled.
"That I am." It was then Brant walked up and asked.
"What did you do exactly?" The Ancient One frowned before jumping up and slapping him on the head.
"Come on, I trained you to be more observant then that." He then gestured to Spitelout. "Observe him and see what has happened to him after he has suffered from my strike." Brant turned to Spitelout and then like me shocked him and then made him chuckle and then I'm guessing Spitelout had enough and asked.
"What is so funny?"
I just pointed at his lower body and it was then all eyes turned to it before my father, Gobber and Spitelout looked at where I pointed before the first two burst out laughing while Spitelout looked horrifies realizing his pants now had a large wet spot in the middle. His horror quickly turned to anger as he turned to the Ancient One but the second he leaned forward he completely collapsed forward while we all looked at him in confusion before realization struck me and I turned to the Ancient One and asked.
"You also paralyzed his lower body, didn't you?" The Ancient One chuckled.
"You know me too well." He then turned to Spitelout. "Now have you learnt your lesson about underestimating your opponent?" Spitelout just growled and tried to grab him but the Ancient One simply swatted his hand away.
"If you didn't use that trick then I could've beat you easily old man." I rolled my eyes, knowing how this was going to turn out.
"If that is the way you feel then I shall gladly face you in a fair fight this afternoon when you have had time to recover and also the chance to change your pants." I couldn't help but chuckle at this with Brant doing the same before the Ancient One turned to me. "Now then shall we begin with the tour of the village?" I nodded.
"Sounds good to me Ancient One but could you undo what you did to Spitelout before we do since he does need to change his pants?" He nodded.
"You raise a good point." He walked up to Spitelout and delivered a few quick nerve strikes. "All done!" Spitelout slowly stood up. "Now let's begin the tour." I nodded and we took off.
Late afternoon
It's been hours since we began the tour and since then the tour has been completed as was the match between Spitelout and the Ancient One which as expected, ended with Spitelout getting his rear end handed to him on a silver platter. This of course earned the attention of the other warriors of the tribe who challenged the Ancient One to a fight and as expected, not a single one of them came close to beating him nor did any of them last more than ten minutes against him. Along with this I also had to spend a lot of time using my mystic Ganji waters to heal their bruises while also trying to at least help nurse their wounded pride.
Now I was shirtless and laying in the middle of the dragon academy which used to be the kill ring while panting heavily as the Ancient One smiled down at me in both admiration and victory after he beat me in our own sparring match as he said.
"You have improved since our last sparring match but you are still not at my level yet." I smiled up at the Ancient One.
"Thank you for this chance to see how far I've come Ancient One."
"It was my pleasure Hiccup, now I believe it is getting close to dinner time and I think I could use a bath to relax after today's events." I nodded and with that said, we left the arena to return to the island.
2 weeks later
It's been two weeks since the Ancient One went up against Spitelout in the academy and since then the Ancient One has had to fight at least five warriors a day. It was mainly those he originally beat down who were hoping to at the very least be able to soothe their wounded prides a little by being able to land a single strike against him. Things weren't any easier on the island though since he'd used the opportunity to help both me and my kids with our ninja training and like before, he was a tough teacher but the results were great since we'd all made a lot of progress in our training. Brant's ability to open up his senses had reached new heights while his reaction time had improved as well making him a greater opponent to those who would challenge him. Chara had also undergone some intense training, being taught how to open her senses so she'd be able to be able to sense enemies, even when they were hiding in the shadows and be able to strike foes even when she's blinded. Along with this, she'd also increased her stealth and speed and as a result, her abilities to move from place to place without being spotted and near instantly had reached new heights to the point that she's able to move through the branches of the jungle trees with ease and stealth. Then there's me, allowing me to truly perfect my own ninja styles moves so they would be a lot more powerful when I use them against foes in the future.
Along the way, we'd also been studying Brant's armour and the abilities it has and I knew that some of these abilities would help loosen the knots in my stomach when he begins going on his own missions. The first ability was obviously the armours durability which I tested by having Brant take it off and place it on a wooden dummy before I stabbed it with a gronkle iron sword, using all my strength and it barely made an scratch which quickly repaired itself. Along with this we learnt the bottom part of the neck had a fabric that could be pulled over the mouth along with a hood on the back, enhancing the ability to hide in the dark and keeping his identity hidden from others. As for the bracers, they could absorb the force of a blow so it'd be like he was never struck when he uses them to block a blow so he'd have an easier time blocking strikes. Along with this, we learnt that the bracers had a small storage space within them like my spiderpack but they were nowhere near as big and could only store thin things like shuriken, kunai or a lock picking set I made for Brant, if he were ever captured. All in all, it was good gear that I knew would serve my son well in the future but I hoped he wouldn't need to put it to use too soon since if something happened to him his mothers would kill me and I wouldn't blame them.
Besides that, Blanca had been acting odd for the past three days, avoiding me whenever I was near and when I was able to corner her, she'd make up some excuse and run off. I'd tried talking to Verta about Blanca's odd behaviour but she claimed that it was something Blanca needed to discuss with me on her own when she was ready. I admit I was curious what she meant by this but I had the feeling that she was right and I just needed to wait for Blanca to be ready to discuss it with me but I still kept her under watch using my automatons. Now however, I was happy to just enjoy the moment I was in, in which I was sitting in the meditation garden with the Ancient One, the kids and my ninja with all of us enjoying some peaceful meditation in which we were able to focus on centring ourselves and sensing the vibrations around us. It was then I sensed someone approaching us right before the sound of Astrid's voice could be heard crying out.
"Hiccup!" I opened my eyes as I sighed, getting the feeling that my peaceful time with one of my masters and my children was over as I stood up and turned to see Astrid running towards us.
"Astrid, what is it?" She stopped in front of the shrine where we were all sitting.
"We just got word from Berk that Alvin's just arrived on Berk with information from those hunters from dragon island." I checked Berk through the eyes of the various automatons I had around it and saw Alvin was with my parents and Gobber in the Great Hall.
"I'll go meet him now and see what he's found out." I turned to the Ancient One who simply gave me a nod of acknowledgement before I took off to the nearest portal door.
Nightfall
I was sitting in my library, looking at the image of a wooden fortress that was being projected by one of my golden falcons and doing my best to examine every inch of its outer defences. This base had three walls and was built against a mountainside with the open end facing a large cave, four watch towers on each wall with at least two guards on each, along with men marching along the walls and in the centre of this base was a stone circle shaped man made pit with a chain net covering the top so it was like the dragon kill ring and the outer ring was surrounded by bleachers. This base belonged to the group the dragon hunters I had captured and sent to Alvin who got their bases location after a few weeks under his care. Apparently, they were a originally a small group that had been able to escape the final battle and over time they'd gathered other groups who had escaped and had united in the hopes of restarting the dragon hunters under the command of one of the former commanders. They'd already began collecting clients to sell dragons to using a market that they created in secret so neither me or my comrades would be able to find out and stop them and from what Alvin learnt, they'd also begun planning to restart the dragon fights. It was then a voice came from behind me saying.
"Looks like a simple but heavily guarded base." I nodded and turned to the figure who owned the voice and saw the Ancient One. "I take it that this is the place those dragon hunters come from." I nodded. "What do you intend to do?"
"I figure I'll send in my mystic bird, Inazuma, to scout out the base before attacking them from the shadows."
"Maybe you should take the kids with you to give them some real world experience." I immediately turned to him in shock.
"Are you crazy, their mothers would kill me."
"I understand your desire to protect them from the outside world but you must allow them out into it so they may learn to adapt to its ways for there will be a time when you shall no longer be there to protect them." I knew he was right but I couldn't stop worrying about them. "Just think about it before you go to deal with that place and one more thing." He then jumped up and swatted my head. "I am not crazy." I chuckled and rubbed the back of my head.
"No you're not but you are right, the kids could use a bit of real world experience but that doesn't mean I have to like it." He smiled and nodded. "There is one thing I would like to request of you though." He turned to me. "Could you come and help me explain this to my wives." He chuckled.
"Not on your life since as you just said, I am not crazy." I smiled.
"Then wish me luck." He chuckled as I called my golden falcon back to its perch and went to talk with the girls.
Afternoon the next day
My talk with my wives went as expected, the girls wanting to slap me silly for thinking of taking the kids into such a dangerous situation and asked what I was thinking. When I told them what the Ancient One told me, they were still hesitant but were a little more accepting of the idea and gave me an order to ensure the kids safety. This was an order I was happy to agree to and I made sure the kids understood not to try anything without my say so while we were on this mission. Now I was on my ship with both Brant and Chara along with Toothless of course and we were on our way to the island where the base was located and intended to get there by nightfall. This suited me just fine since I intended to for us to attack the base under the cover of night so we'd be able to keep to the shadows more easily. I looked out at the horizon with Toothless at my side while the kids practiced close combat on the deck behind me and couldn't help but wonder how things would go on this attack. Still though my mind kept wondering back to what was up with Blanca since she was acting odd, even when we left and it worried me but she kept avoiding the talk about it. I sighed knowing I should just take Verta's advice and let her come to me in her own time but it didn't make the wait any easier which is why I hoped this mission would help take my mind off it.
On the Islands Great Planes
Blanca was standing on the edge of the cliff above the giant mans statue and looking out at the ocean with a look of contemplation on her face and it was then a voice from behind her said.
"Quite a view isn't it?" Blanca turned to see the Ancient One approaching her. "I take it you came here to try and figure out how to tell Hiccup what you've been keeping from him."
"You know what I've been hiding?" He smiled and nodded.
"How long have you known about your condition?"
"Three days but I do not know how to tell Hiccup or the others."
"And why do you fear telling them?" Blanca looked down.
"I do not know but it scares me about how they may react."
"Blanca, they are your family and Hiccup loves you enough to give up his humanity so just tell them or they shall figure it out themselves and cause more damage as you kept such a large secret from them." Hearing this Blanca gained a new look of determination in her eyes and nodded.
"When Hiccup returns, I will tell him the truth first as he has a right to know." He smiled and nodded.
"If that is the case then I wish you luck and shall leave you to figure out what you shall tell him." Blanca nodded and returned to looking at the view as the Ancient One left her alone with her thoughts.
AN: And that brings an end to this chapter and sorry for the long wait but work has been absolutely insane with me not even being able to sit down and eat my lunch in peace without someone calling for help. I'm stuck helping people like normal but also moving multiple computers and setting up new users with little help from my co-workers who have their own problems to deal with. Anyway sorry for the delay and will try to get the next one up in time so until then have a nice day and please review kindly since the last chapter only got two of them.
