Author's Note:

Fire Emblem: Three Houses is coming out today! A game that's been on my radar, for quite some time. Due to a pretty mild-to-moderate case of writer's block, I had to make this chapter a bit of a throwaway chapter, just to play it safe. No worries, the usual gang (Mario and others) will still appear. Also, the characters from Three Houses appear as they do prior to the time skip. Just wanted to point that out. And now, the reviews...

"So is there gonna be a Hoshido vs Nohr chapter later on? Are Alm and Celica wearing their default outfits or promotion outfits? Can you add a scene of Cindy from Final Fantasy XV interacting with Tails? (Since they're both mechanics, maybe have them train Prompto to be a mechanic?) is Rise from Persona 4 using her Laura Bailey or Ashley Burch voice? And finally, will Shido from Persona 5 appear to cause problems for the Smashers? (Maybe have him be the villain for the next arc?)"

Perhaps? They are using their default outfits. That scene would be nice. Rise is using her Laura Bailey voice. And Shido will appear in the future, but he won't be an arc villain. Next is Nyan:

"...will Anan- I mean, silent dragon Fire Emblem of Fates appear?"

Don't think I'll have any room for Silent Dragon. Sioresov is back with...questions:

"1.) We DEFINITELY need someone to rescue Ratchet and Clank now. Huang Lee, BJ Blacowicz, or Vinnie Cannoli (another forgotten Nintendo Character. All gunmen btw) would be a perfect fit. (Will there be a chapter where it would be focused on their rescue? and plz let it be the three, or any of em)
2.) When are reviews due?
3.) Can there be a power struggle in some chapter? (AKA 'History of the Soviet Union in One Chapter'. Billy Joe managed to do the history of the cold war in one music video.)
4.) Will the 200th Chapter be like Spongebob's big birthday blowout?
5.) If there is a Certain Nazi Slaying Person Added to the Roster, will there be Nazis?"

1. No, no..and no. Won't reveal anything pertaining to Ratchet and Clank.
2. What do you mean by that.
3. There will be a power struggle somewhere down the road. How it will play out, I haven't figured out yet.
4. No, as of right now it'll be something more different. Presumably.
5. What Nazi slaying person? Is it Wolfenstein-related?

Derick Lindsey has a question about Fox and Krystal:

"Quick question do you plan on Fox and Krystal having Marcus after the wedding and meeting up with Krystal's mother?"

Eh...we'll see. El Pollo Campero has a question about Resident Evil:

"Are the Resident evil characters coming back soon? With Claire and all?"

The Resident Evil characters will be returning, later in the year. Last review for today comes from PinkRose4452:

"1. Is Sheik's appearance from Smash 4 or Ultimate?
2. Will Baby Charlie and Baby Jennifer have some more screentime?
3. Will Chie, Akihiko, Makoto, Tifa and Chun-li interact with eachother?
4. The viruses come and invade the mansion and the tower, and it's up to Dr. Mario and friends to save the day by eliminating them with the pills.
5. Master Hand and Crazy hand do a cross dressing competition and force the male residents who had cross dress as girls before (like the P3, P4 and P5 boys, Cloud, Mario, and Champion Link, as some examples) and some who haven't cross dress before to cross dress, and see who wins a big trophy. The Hands also do this for their entertainment as well."

1. Because Sheik and Zelda are still the same person in this story, Sheik's appearance is from Smash 4.
2. I've been ignoring those two, haven't I? I'll do my best to make up for my neglect.
3. Sounds like a very interesting scene...I'm down.
4. The viruses from Dr. Mario? Wouldn't mind doing a chapter based around them.
5. Oh no...talk about complete and utter humiliation for those involved. I'll...I'll have to think about this one.

Episode 188: ThreeHouses

Toon Link: In the criminal justice system, offences outside of Smash battles are especially considered heinous. In Seattle, at the Smash Mansion, the dedicated police officers who investigate these vicious felonies are members of an elite squad known as the LPU, the Link Patrol Unit. These are their stories.
Young Link: DUN DUUUUN!

Patrol duty was always a lonesome, boring task for Mega Man. Really, all the blue robot had to do was sit on the roof of the mansion, look through his binoculars, and look for anyone from the manor trying to trespass unto the mansion grounds. It was a task that only Mega Man did, with an occasional appearance or two from Proto Man.

But Proto Man, realizing how boring patrol duty was, ultimately called it quits and told Mega Man that he was on his own. Mega Man, not wanting to be a lonesome fool perched at the top of the mansion, informed Master Hand that he needed a "second pair of eyes". Master Hand, who perceived Mega Man's request as an act of complaining, eventually found someone that could compliment Mega Man...Aigis.

"Mario is outside playing with his canine companion, as I speak," Aigis informed Mega Man, as she observed Mario playing a game of Frisbee with Poochy. "What is your expert analysis on this, Mega Man?"

"No expert analysis needed," replied Mega Man, who was looking through his pair of binoculars. "Just a play date with a man and his best friend..."

"Mario's best friend is his pet dog? That sounds...very problematic, yet understandable at the same time. How fascinating."

"Yeah, yeah, yeah...just stick to your job, and stop making comments about every little thing that you see. Trying to focus here."

"Is there something bothering you, Mega Man?" Aigis asked the blue bomber, cocking her head to the side. "Do you need to take a break?"

"No, it's just that...you aren't doing your job correctly. We're supposed to be on the lookout for manor guys."

"Pardon my ignorance, but who exactly qualifies as being a 'manor guy'? Sadly Master Hand never fully went over the details of my duty with me."

This caused Mega Man to grunt loudly, as the robot lowered the binoculars from his eyes with a pained face. He wondered if Master Hand even considered any candidates other than Aigis.

Mega Man: "Just watch the front yard," he said, "They'll only show up at the front," he said...well what if someone pops up in the back, and I don't see them?! Then they'll infiltrate the mansion, and then it'll be all my fault, and then I'll lose my patrol duties, and then... *pauses, then smiles* ...you know, that's not a bad idea.

"If the person is a dog with a beanie, a walking skeleton, a cute-looking cat, or some guy with spiky hair...then they're a bad guy," Mega Man explained to Aigis, hoping that said explanation was more than enough.

"None of those individuals sound that threatening to me," stated Aigis; Mega Man knew he should have described Nathan, Cole MacGrath, and Sweet Tooth instead. "You sure they aren't our friends?"

"Nope, just a bunch of folks that want to take us down...because they're jealous, or they're just looking for trouble. Either or."

Although he was living outside of the mansion, in his own home with his family, Olimar was still allowed to come by the mansion to tend the gardens with Alph. He was coming to the garden more often than usual, especially in the span of one week, because of something Leaf had brought to him and Alph in the last episode: a two-leaf sprout that Leaf had found. Leaf found the particular sprout on the floor, after Robin was suplexed by Incineroar, and brought it to Olimar and Alph in the hopes that they knew if the sprout was any special.

"Alph, what is your definitive analysis?" Olimar asked the young astronaut, holding the sprout in his hand. Leaf was standing by with the astronauts in the gardens, holding her hands behind her back.

"It is...a sprout with two leaves on it," replied Alph, blowing Olimar away with his eloquent and breath-taking analysis. Or so he would have, if Olimar was a giant simpleton of great proportions.

"Yes, that much is obvious...but what do you think it can do? Leaf claimed that it might've came from Robin's head, though someone would've had to plant a seed in his head for a sprout to grow."

"Well I've seen this one Bollywood movie, where this evil Indian guy plants a seed in his girlfriend's head. The seed grows into this venomous man-eating plant thing, and it takes over the girlfriend's body and..."

"Stop it. You already had me at 'Bollywood'." Olimar would further inspect the sprout, squinting his eyes despite squinting them already. "I can tell this isn't any ordinary sprout. Looks can kill."

"If you can't figure out what the sprout can do, do you know if anyone else in the mansion can figure it out?" Leaf asked Olimar, who stroked his chin in thought. Or at least where his chin would be, as he was apparently wearing his helmet.

"I think I know a guy...or two." Leaf suddenly had a very uneasy feeling, immediately knowing whom Olimar was referring to...

"SHOW YOURSELF, YOU UNGRATEFUL MURDERER!"

The buddy cops, Toon Link and Young Link, were on the case as they were searching around the mansion for a potential murderer. Bringing the Duck Hunt Dog with them to sniff around, the buddy cops entered the kitchen, where Kanji and Naoto were hanging out.

"Look alive, sheriff," Kanji smiled at Naoto, who lowered her police cap over her face so the buddy cops wouldn't notice her. The buddy cops searched high and low in the kitchen, looking for the murderer.

"Smell anything, Duck Hunt Dog?" Toon Link asked the mutt, holding unto him with his leash. The Duck Hunt Dog sniffed around, eventually reaching Naoto's feet.

"Woof woof!" the mutt barked at Naoto, who was trying to divert the attention from her as she drank from her glass of apple juice. But that proved to be a failure, as the buddy cops had their eyes on the police detective.

"Ah, our honorary sheriff, Naoto!" exclaimed Young Link, delighted to see the apathetic police detective. "Do you have any idea were our mass murderer might be?"

"If there was a mass murderer in the mansion, Kanji and I would've known about it already," replied Naoto; if Master Hand knew there was a mass murderer afoot, he would make darn sure to let everyone know.

"Yeah, you boys are just blowing things completely out of proportion, as usual!" Kanji said to the buddy cops, proving his worth to Naoto by siding with his girlfriend. "It's the thing you two do best!"

"That, and stopping criminals in the name of the law," stated Young Link, as he proudly adjusted his police hat on his head. "As well as playing Sudoku."

"Hutch, I think the Duck Hunt Dog found the whereabouts of our culprit!" Toon Link notified his partner-in-crime, as the Duck Hunt Dog went from sniffing around Naoto's feet to the fridge.

"Woof woof!" the Duck Hunt Dog barked loudly, when he heard some loud movements from inside the fridge. Curious, Young Link went over to the fridge.

"Let's see what's inside..." the Hylian said, as he grabbed the fridge handle and opened the fridge door...as Falco spilled out of the fridge. The avian pilot fell unto the kitchen floor, dropping his pen and a long slip of paper.

"Oh crap, I've been caught!" worried Falco, as he sat up on the floor. He was looking panicked at the buddy cops, who had their bows and arrows pointed at the pilot. "Guys, I can explain!"

"We both had a hunch that you might've been hiding in the fridge..." Toon Link said to Falco, completely discrediting the Duck Hunt Dog's hard work.

"How did you think that I was hiding in there? I could've been hiding anywhere else, you know!"

"Silly Mr. Lombardi, we're not dense! We eventually knew you were hiding in the fridge because all the fridge food is on the kitchen counter!" Toon Link pointed at the kitchen counter, which had stuff like orange juice, milk, hot dogs, and other food on it.

"Well if you saw the food on the kitchen counter when you got here...then why didn't you instantly come to the conclusion that someone was hiding in the fridge?!" This really caused Toon Link to think.

"I kinda knew there was someone hiding in the fridge when I saw the food...I just didn't really think about it that much at the moment."

"Starsky, do you see what Falco is trying to do?" Young Link said to the Hylian, dumbfounded that Toon Link didn't realize the truth soon enough. "He's using Jedi mind tricks against you, to make you look and feel stupid!"

"Oh yes, I see...nobody makes me look stupid, and expect to get away with it! Let's get him!"

So the buddy cops dropped their weapons on the floor, as he they proceeded to beat up Falco. Falco held his hands over his head, as Toon Link and Young Link kicked him to no end.

Toon Link: We would use our fists, when we're not using our weapons, but using fists to beat up people is the biggest punk move in the book. Therefore, Hutch and I prefer to use our educated feet instead.
Young Link: Say, Starsky, just how educated are your feet?
Toon Link: Both of my feet have a PhD in podiatry.
Young
Link: ...dang it, you got me.

"Stop it, stop it, I surrender!" surrendered Falco, knowing that the buddy cops wouldn't hear him out. Toon Link and Young Link were known for playing deaf ears to acts of surrender.

"You're gonna do something about this, Naoto?" Kanji asked the police detective, who took the last sip from her glass of apple juice...before hopping in on the action, as she joined the buddy cops in kicking Falco.

Naoto: I genuinely didn't want to kick Falco - I just thought that maybe doing so would prompt the buddy cops to leave me alone.

"Alright, that's enough!" announced Toon Link, bringing the endless kicking to an end. Falco withered on the floor in pain, as Toon Link grabbed his ink pen.

"No, not my ink pen, I need it!" whined Falco, as Toon Link inspected the pen for any signs of evidence. Naoto picked up Falco's long slip of paper, and read it.

"It's just a long list of names," observed Naoto, as she saw a long list of names on the slip of paper. Young Link snatched the paper away from Naoto, so he could take a look for himself.

"Not just any long list of names - it's Falco's hit list!" affirmed Young Link, disturbed by how many names were on the list. "A list of people that Falco legitimately wants to kill, that homicidal maniac!"

"Whoever said that I wanted to kill anyone?" questioned Falco, who clearly wasn't about that life. "That's a guest list of people that'll be attending Fox and Krystal's wedding! Been brainstorming all night!"

"Oh no, we've been chasing down an innocent resident and beat him up for no reason!" Young Link got all panicky, with his hands on his face. The buddy cops really dun goofed up. "What are we gonna do, Starsky?"

"The only thing we can do, Hutch..." replied Toon Link...as the buddy cops resumed their kicking spree on Falco, with Naoto joining in. The kicking on Falco continued, as Olimar entered the kitchen.

"Toon Link, Young Link, may I speak with you both?" the astronaut, holding the sprout, asked the buddy cops. The kicking spree came to an end, with Falco recuperating as the buddy cops looked at Olimar.

"Thank you Olimar, you're a real hero..." Falco wheezed in pain, trying to collect himself as he pulled himself up on all fours.

Olimar took the buddy cops outside of the mansion, exiting through the front door and walking down the porch.

"I want you boys to find out about the significance of this sprout," Olimar said to the buddy cops, arriving at the front yard of the mansion. "I would ask Ema, but she might be busy at the moment."

"After we're done investigating the sprout, are we allowed to eat it?" Toon Link asked Olimar; he couldn't help but notice that the sprout looked delectable, for some strange reason.

"Personally I wouldn't really encourage it, but...no, no you cannot eat the sprout. Not at least until Master Hand gets a good look at it."

"Like Master Hand would care about some silly plant..." said Young Link, before he heard some talking from around the corner of the mansion. "...wait, do you guys hear that? Sounds like Master Hand...and someone else."

In a curious state of mind, Olimar and the buddy cops went to the corner of the mansion, and saw Master Hand speaking with two individuals, a man and a woman in black - both of whom looked like they were from medieval times. Fire Emblem folk?

Behind the two individuals were around two dozen people, divided up into three factions - one faction wearing red, a second faction wearing blue, and a third faction wearing yellow. Moreover, the three factions were represented by flags with an eagle, a lion, and a deer on them, respectively. The names of these factions? The Black Eagles, Blue Lions, and Golden Deer - three houses of students, hailing from a foreign land. Each house was represented by a leader.

"Stay pat, Olimar, Hutch and I got some investigating to do..." Toon Link said to Olimar, as he and Young Link ventured over to where Master Hand and company were. The buddy cops had to make sure they weren't noticed.

"We're greatly appreciative of the opportunity you given us, Master Hand," the man in blue thanked the giant hand, as the buddy cops got a good look at the sword the man was holding unto. "You really came through for us!"

"Don't mention it Beleth - it's not that often I extend such opportunities to others," replied Master Hand, showing off a rare courteous side. A side the buddy cops seldom saw before. "You and Byleth sure are keepers!"

"That sounds...awfully nice of you, Master Hand," said Byleth, the woman that was standing next to Beleth. "Not quite sure what that means, but..."

"Whatever it means is only up to you, for your own interpretation. Anyways, I know for a fact that you two will be great in teaching the three houses." Byleth and Beleth looked at one another, with the same worrisome facial expressions.

"Yes, about that...we can only teach one house at a time. We were hoping that maybe you had a worthy candidate to teach one of the houses, while we individually focus on the other two."

Byleth: A massive heat wave struck our continent of Fódlan, so until the heat wave subsides, Beleth and I decided to take our teaching duties to the Smash Mansion. Which was recommended to us.
Beleth: Recommended to us by some merchant lady named Anna. She said she has never been to the mansion before, but has heard good things about it from a "prestigious hero-king"...so we decided to take her word for it.

"You can only teach one house at a time?!" questioned Master Hand, disappointed and startled to learn such information. He was waiting for Byleth and Beleth to tell the giant hand that they were kidding, but they remained silent. "We're living in the age of inclusivity! Why not teach ALL three houses, at the same time?"

"Because that would be too much work...?" replied Beleth, eyeing to the side. Something Master Hand had said made Young Link very angry.

"Starsky, do you see what Master Hand is trying to do?" Young Link asked his partner-in-crime, making sure that his ears weren't deceiving him. "Did you hear what he said, about the 'age of inclusivity'?"

"He's literally trying to force liberalism down the throats of those poor visitors!" frowned Toon Link, as he and Young Link unsheathed their swords. "Let's get him!"

So the buddy cops ran to Master Hand and company, pointing their swords at Master Hand. The giant hand didn't feel intimidated...rather, he was feeling delighted.

"Ah, Toon Link and Young Link, glad you could make it!" Master Hand greeted the buddy cops, who were staring the giant hand down. "I would like for you both to meet Byleth and Beleth - two outstanding teachers!"

"Would you look at that, two young swordsmen," said Byleth, as he looked at the buddy cops - who directed their attention from Master Hand to the instructor. "Now now, you two, I'm not looking for a fight!"

"And those folks right behind Byleth and Beleth are the three houses of Fódlan - the Black Eagle, Blue Lion, and Golden Deer," Master Hand continued, bringing the buddy cops' attention to the leader of the three houses. "Each led by their fearless leader - Edelgard, Dimitri, and Claude!"

"Nice to meet you both," greeted Edelgard, the leader of the Black Eagles. A very dignified and solemn lady, judging by her appearance alone.

"Just what we need, a couple of brats..." mumbled Dimitri, the leader of the Blue Lions. Looked like he was trying to hold some kind of unworldly grudge.

"You boys sure looking very charming!" remarked Claude, the leader of the Golden Deer. Perhaps the most friendly and easygoing out of the three leaders. Though the buddy cops begged to differ.

"That Claude guy looks like a pretty boy..." Young Link whispered to Toon Link, who nodded in agreement. "...you know, the kind of guy that looks very handsome, but in reality is a huge, pompous jerk."

"Sweet on the outside, but sour in the inside..." uttered Toon Link, as he took a real good look at Claude. Claude was smiling at the buddy cops, and Toon Link knew for a fact that the nobleman's smile was hiding a LOT of malice.

"Not to mention that he has a normal-sounding name, Claude. Definitely not a Fire Emblem dude. Must be some kind of imposter."

"The young men and women behind Edelgard, Dimitri, and Claude are their students, hailing from the three houses," Master Hand continued to explain, slightly unaware of what the buddy cops were muttering on about. "All of whom have dreams and desires to become aspiring..."

"So is this like some sort of school field trip?" inquired Young Link, as he looked around for some kind of school bus. Preferably a magical school bus, one that came with an eccentric teacher and her pet chameleon.

"No, this isn't a school field trip...well technically it is, but not, not entirely. I just agreed to let Byleth and Beleth teach the students at the mansion, so they can become the very best like no one ever was!"

"So the students are being trained to become world-class Pokemon trainers," assumed Toon Link, as Master Hand grunted loudly in frustration. At this point, the giant hand should just stop talking.

"...if you must know, I brought Byleth and Beleth and the house leaders to the mansion today just so they could teach the students. Convinced now?"

"We are convinced...somewhat," replied Young Link, as he grabbed Toon Link and walked away. "Excuse us for a minute, Starsky and I are gonna have a private chit-chat outside..."

"But you two are already outside," stated Dimitri, as Young Link stopped in place in sudden realization. Dimitri just used a "Jedi mind trick" to make Young Link look and feel stupid; he was sure to receive a beatdown at the hands of the buddy cops later.

"We don't take smart alecks too kindly around here...better keep that mouth of yours in check, kid." All the students in Dimitri's house, Blue Lions, stifled their laughter as their leader was called a "kid", by a kid.

"But I'm older than you...you know what, just go and handle your business." Unwritten Rule #201: never argue with the buddy cops.

Mega Man and Aigis were at the top of the mansion, still on patrol duty, as they watched two the three houses setting up at the front of the mansion - the Black Eagles, and the Blue Lions. Claude's house, the Golden Deer, was with the other two houses waiting on an instructor.

"Looks like our visitors today came to the mansion for some training," observed Aigis, watching as the students from the Black Eagles and Blue Lions assembled their weapons and accessories.

"Hopefully they won't be bothered enough to handle any intruders from the manor," stated Mega Man, watching the students assembling their weapons through his trusty binoculars. "If it ever comes to that."

"Woo hoo, is it a party up here or what?!" exclaimed Pit, showing up on the mansion's roof along with Kirby and Incineroar. The angel and Kirby were holding snacks in their hands, while Incineroar was holding a cooler full of drinks.

"Will you boys keep it down?" Mega Man scolded Pit and company, as he turned away from his binoculars. "Aigis and I are trying to focus here."

"Well excuse us for trying to liven up the mood..." Pit sat down, placing his handful of snacks on the roof. The angel grabbed a bag of potato chips, opened it up, and started munching away.

"Care to explain to us what business you have being here?" Aigis asked Pit and company, as Incineroar placed the cooler on the roof next to Pit.

"My pals and I were thinking that maybe we could turn this whole mansion patrol thing into some kind of watch party." Pit opened up the cooler, and pulled out a bottle of root beer. "Make things a little interesting."

"Sadly there's nothing interesting about sitting on the roof of the mansion all day and watching nothing happening," stated Mega Man, who found mansion patrol duty to be very tiresome and time-consuming. "I highly doubt you'll have a fun time watching..."

"BUUUUUURRRRRRRPPPP!" Pit suddenly belched, interrupting Mega Man and nearly startling the robot. That belch was so loud, it could be heard from the students gathered below.

"My goodness Pit, where are your manners..." Kirby shook his head at Pit, who refused to say "excuse me" for the loud burp he just did.

"I only use my manners whenever Viridi is around." Pit drunk more of his root beer, and let out a much smaller burp. "You know that better than anyone, Kirby."

Pit: Viridi keeps telling me that by using my manners, I present myself as being a dignified person. Something that I'm not even close to being. Heck, I can't even stop eating pizza with a spoon! But eating pizza with a fork? Now that's where it's at!

"You guys care for a soda?" Pit offered to Mega Man and Aigis, reaching into the cooler and pulling out a soft drink that he offered. "Or what about some chips?"

"Thanks Pit, but no thanks - we're both robots," responded Mega Man, turning down the angel's offer. "We can't really eat that food - might mess up our systems."

"Oh, am I being insensitive? I'm sorry..." Pit kindly placed the soft drink back in the cooler...or at least he was about to, before opening the drink and drinking all of its contents to his heart's desire.

"Someone is feeling very greedy today," remarked Kirby, as Pit let out another burp, this one even louder than the first one. The students at the front of the mansion have had to heard that one.

"Man, I'm starved!" griped a student from the Golden Deer, Raphael - a big, sturdy man whose size matched his appetite. "I could really go for a snack right now!"

"Did someone say they need a snack?" Pit called out, walking over to the edge of the roof. The angel tossed a whole bag of goldfish crackers to Raphael, who caught the bag expertly with one hand.

"Aw yeah, some crackers! Just what I needed! Thanks, kid!" Raphael happily munched away on the goldfish crackers, as Ingrid - a member of the Blue Lions - looked on feeling jealous.

"I'm feeling pretty starved, too!" the blonde student called out to Pit, who quickly obliged as he grabbed another bag of goldfish crackers and threw it...way over Ingrid's head. "...I would like a bag today, please!"

"You got it!" Pit gave Ingrid a thumbs up, as Mega Man grunted in frustration. Pit's shenanigans was distracting him from patrol duty...which, when you think about it, wasn't that bad in a sense.

Having seen the teachers Byleth and Beleth, as well as the leaders of the three houses - Edelgard, Dimitri, and Claude - the buddy cops were discussing among themselves in the foyer about the individuals they had seen. They wanted to ensure that the folks they saw were trustworthy.

"Give me your honest take on Edelgard," Toon Link said to Young Link, interested in hearing his partner-in-crime's honest thoughts. "What do you think of her?"

"She looks dead serious, like she's seen some crap in her life," Young Link offered his two cents, as Toon Link nodded his head thoughtfully. "Like she had seen her parents be eaten by a dragon. She looks like the kind of cold-hearted woman that would cut off your arm, and leave you in a ditch after she kisses you goodbye."

"I share the same sentiments as you do...I'd feel bad for anyone who has that woman as their girlfriend. What about Dimitri, what do you think of him?"

"Probably the most fake man I've met this month. Looks like a deranged sociopath. He thinks he can fool us with his handsome facade, but we know better. I can honestly see him turning into a pirate one day, and pillage rival countries."

"Not gonna lie, he would look pretty nice with an eyepatch...and what do you have to say about Claude? He's probably the most suspect out of the three."

"Ah yes, Mr. Pretty Boy himself...the one with the disingenuous smile. Thought he was a woman when I first saw him. Maybe it's all a part of his act, to look as attractive as possible to keep us on edge. Pretty boys sure know how to confuse their enemies."

"Are you insisting that we both are enemies of Claude?" Toon Link didn't wish to make any new enemies today, but Claude seemingly changed all of that. "You might be on to something. Claude might want his house to kill us both!"

"Or even worse...kill everyone at the mansion!" This assumption from Young Link caused Toon Link to gasp in horror.

"It all makes sense now...obviously one of those three houses has to be the bad apple. And it's the one led by the evil pretty boy!"

"I wonder if Byleth and Beleth are aware about the evil plans Claude is conspiring." A very high chance that neither of them did not. "We should probably give them a heads up, so they and the others be safe."

The buddy cops wouldn't have to go that far to speak with Byleth and Beleth, for they saw the two instructors in the hallway, standing outside Master Hand's room. The buddy cops went over to speak with the two instructors...only before noticing that something was up.

"Yes, we both trust Master Hand equally," said Byleth, as she was speaking to...well, someone. The way it looked to the buddy cops, it looked like Byleth and Beleth were talking to the wall.

"Master Hand promised that he won't interfere in the teaching of the students," added Beleth, as him speaking in front of a wall concerned the buddy cops deeply.

"Psst, Starsky, use your Silph Scope and find out who these guys are talking to..." Young Link whispered to Toon Link, becoming worried about Byleth and Beleth by the second.

"Don't have to tell me twice!" Toon Link whispered back as he his hand into his pocket, before stopping in the process. "Wait...I have a Silph Scope? Since when?"

"Eh, beats me. You know what, just use your hawk eye vision instead, that might be just as effective."

"Master Hand will be as hands-off as he can be, we promise you," Byleth assured whomever she and Beleth were speaking with; at this point, the buddy cops had seen and heard enough.

Master Hand: After some careful consideration, I have decided who will be teaching the Golden Deer, since Byleth and Beleth will handle the other two houses...the teacher shall be Marth! Mainly because he's an OG and all. Marth is out paying the water bill (Marth has never believed in paying bills, so you can only imagine how much debt he and Caeda are living in), so when he comes back home I'll ask him.

"Freeze! Hands up in the air!" shouted Toon Link, as the buddy cops donned their weapons and pointed them at Byleth and Beleth. "Who were you speaking with?"

"Uh, it's a girl we were speaking with," replied Beleth, unsure if he should reveal the identity of the girl or keep it a secret. Because of the buddy cops' nature, Beleth would be wise to go with the former option.

"Her name is Sothis - she saved both of our lives some time ago," Byleth said to the buddy cops, who were feeling skeptical if Byleth was telling the truth. "She can only appear in our minds."

"Hold on, I don't think we follow," Toon Link said, as Byleth's story reached a point of disbelief that neither buddy cop could comprehend. "How can this imaginary friend appear in BOTH of your minds?"

"Yeah, and how can she save both of your lives?" questioned Young Link, putting Byleth and Beleth in the hot seat although neither seat was remotely warm. "My imaginary friend never saved me from drowning in the pool."

"You drowned in the pool? The one outside? Good grief, that must've sucked a ton!"

"Yep, it sure did...but fortunately, I lived to see another day, and to tell my story."

"Can we get back on track, please?" asked Byleth, daring not to question how Young Link was still alive if he supposedly drowned. "If you must know, Sothis is a...a very unique girl."

"She's trying to make this Sothis girl sound like a normal person," Toon Link murmured to Young Link, who shamefully shook his head at Byleth and Beleth. "How very shameful of her..."

"Don't worry, they'll release us soon," Beleth assured the seemingly imaginary Sothis girl, as he turned his head back. "No way are we letting these boys deter us from teaching the students."

"These two are acting strange all of a sudden..." Young Link said to Toon Link, before redirecting his attention to Byleth and Beleth. "You two, follow us to our office. We will continue our investigation there, and check for any signs of schizophrenia."

"Whoever said that we were schizophrenic...?" questioned Beleth, as he and Byleth followed after the buddy cops. The teacher turned his head to the side, as he walked down the hallway. "Like I said, Sothis, they'll let us go soon..."

Byleth and Beleth were sitting in the buddy cops' "office", sitting in folding chairs. They looked over at the buddy cops' board of suspects, which had pictures of residents from both the mansion and the manor. Banjo as "Smokey the Bear", the Luminary as "Android 17", Waluigi as "Living Disappointment", Isaac as "Second-Rate Solarie", Aigis as "Toaster", Krystal as "Number One Furry", Crunch as "Wannabe Mr. T"...everything on the board of suspects bewildered Byleth and Beleth greatly.

"Got a lot of suspects on your board," Byleth said to the buddy cops, who were busy chaining up the Duck Hunt Dog's leash to the bedpost of Young Link's bed. "Must've done a ton of bad things."

"They have all done disgusting acts, in their own right," stated Young Link, once he and Toon Link were finished with their task. "Waluigi is still a whiny bum, Crunch is still a dumb guy with muscles...and Krystal single-handedly started a movement by herself."

"Crash Bandicoot's girlfriend is also partially responsible for starting the movement, as well," Toon Link stated matter-of-factly, as if the two instructors needed to know this vital information. "If not more. We'll arrest her if she ever stops by the mansion."

"Uh huh...sounds like a wanted criminal to me," remarked Beleth, as Toon Link slammed the door shut and locked it. Time for some interrogation to begin.

"Let's begin," said Toon Link, kicking things off as he and Young Link sat in their chairs, backwards, as they looked at Byleth and Beleth. "So, about this Sothis girl...how about you tell us her life story."

"Her life...story?" Beleth raised an eyebrow, as he exchanged looks with Byleth. "I don't think there is much we can tell you about Sothis."

"He's clearly lying, write him up a ticket," Toon Link said to Young Link, who took out a notepad and wrote a ticket for Beleth. "Since you won't give us a background check on Sothis...why don't you describe what she looks like?"

"Well, she has green hair, and green eyes, and pointy ears," described Byleth, giving the buddy cops a brief description of what Sothis looked like. "She also wears a crown on her head."

"You drawing this down, Hutch?" Toon Link asked his partner-in-crime, who was drawing down something on his notepad. Young Link looked up at Toon Link, giving him a thumbs up. "Anything else that we need to know about Sothis, appearance-wise?"

"No, I think that's a good enough description. Is there anything else you want to know?" Byleth really wanted the interrogation to be over with.

"Am I standing close by to Sothis?" Toon Link got up out of his chair, as he began touching the air on the left with his hands. "Am I feeling on her body...in a way that is not consensual?"

"You're not even close to her..." replied Beleth; for all we know, Sothis could be standing behind Byleth and Beleth, judging the buddy cops. "...she is absolutely nowhere near you."

"Beleth is tricking you, Starsky," Young Link told his partner-in-crime, as he was coloring in his police sketch with crayons. "He and Byleth are just sitting there and letting you touch Sothis' extremities."

"Ew, gross!" grimaced Toon Link, as he quickly retracted his hands and gave the two instructors a very disgusted look. "You seriously wanted me to touch Sothis like that, what is wrong with you?" The Hylian scolded Byleth and Beleth.

"Sothis is standing here with us," stated Byleth, who obviously knew the whereabouts of Sothis better than anyone (aside from Beleth). But Toon Link refused to believe the instructor for even a second.

"Hutch, write a ticket for Byleth, since she's lying as well," ordered Toon Link, as Young Link wrote up Byleth's ticket. "Got a bunch of schizophrenic liars up in here..."

"I have finished my sketch, Starsky," Young Link notified Toon Link, as he tore off the page that had his sketch off the notepad. "Shall we show it to one of our honorary sheriffs, for confirmation?"

"Indeed, we shall," replied Toon Link, as he and Young Link opened their door and left their "office". They forgot to close the door back, which gave a wide open window of opportunity to Byleth and Beleth.

"How very convenient of them to leave their door open..." said Byleth, as she looked at Beleth who had a plan hatched in his mind. "..you thinking what I'm thinking, Beleth?"

The buddy cops left the mansion, heading outdoors so they could speak with one of their honorary sheriffs. The honorary sheriff the buddy cops would speak with would be none other than Cloud, who was resting in the hammock outside.

Cloud: Do I mind being an "honorary sheriff"? I mean, Toon Link and Young Link haven't bothered me as much as I expected them to, so I'm perfectly fine with it. Every now and then they'll ask me the most stupid questions about the most stupid things, but other than that, those two youngsters are fairly tolerable.

"What do you think of this sketch, is this a Hylian?" Young Link asked Cloud, waking the swordsman up from his nap. Cloud opened his eyes, and saw Young Link's sketch of Sothis, which was all up in his face.

"The heck am I even looking at?" questioned Cloud, as Young Link pulled the sketch away from Cloud's face so the swordsman could get a better look at it. The way the sketch appeared to Cloud, it looked like Palutena with elf ears.

"It's a picture of some imaginary girl that some schizophrenic man and woman were telling us about," explained Toon Link, as Cloud felt inclined yet reluctant to ask who this schizophrenic man and woman were. "We just need you to confirm if the girl is a Hylian or not."

"And you're asking me, of all people, if she's a Hylian...what, do you think I'm some kind of Hylian expert or something?"

"We just figured that since you hang around with a bunch of Hylians most of the time, you might have a preconception of what most Hylians look like."

"That literally makes no sense. Not to mention that because someone has elf ears, doesn't mean they're Hylian. You can't just assume someone like that."

"I think our honorary sheriff is right, Starsky," Young Link said to his partner-in-crime, taking the sketch of Sothis away from Cloud. "We should never assume anything, otherwise it'll get us into trouble."

"You're right...guess Sothis is just some cute green-haired elf girl," remarked Toon Link, before letting out a sigh as he walked away. "C'mon, let's head back to our office...Byleth and Beleth should still be there."

"Not even gonna question what kind of investigation those two are doing..." mumbled Cloud, watching the buddy cops walk away as the swordsman was about to slumber back into his nap. At least before his best friend Link showed up.

"I take it you were doing business with the buddy cops...honorary sheriff?" Link sneered at Cloud, who glared down the Hylian. "It was a joke, man, don't take it too seriously!"

"Surprisingly I'm not as annoyed by the 'honorary sheriff' moniker yet." Cloud slowly closed his eyes, ready to resume his nap. "I'll give it a few more weeks, though."

Elsewhere outside of the mansion, the three houses were still hanging out at the front of the mansion, waiting on their teachers to show up. As Edelgard, Dimitri, and Claude had a friendly conversation with one another, Marth returned home after a long walk from 700 5th Avenue, where his water bill was paid.

"Had to pay close to $300 for some stupid water bill..." grumbled Marth, fumbling around in his pocket for his house key as he walked to his front door. "Paying that much for something as universally available as water...the water services should be free!"

"Marth, my main man!" exclaimed Master Hand, magically appearing behind Marth. Marth shrieked and dropped his house keys on the ground, as the hero-king turned around and saw Master Hand.

"Couldn't you have waited until I got inside my house?" Marth would much rather be scared inside the comfort of his home, rather than outside and have everyone hear his girly shriek.

"Well I could have, but I couldn't wait." Master Hand pointed at students from the three houses, at the mansion's front. "See those students over there? I need you to teach them your swordsmanship ways."

"You want me to teach others how to be a superb swordsman? Okay...but what's in it for me?"

"Your students will adore you, and have your respect. That's all there is, really. But you don't have to teach everyone - just one particular group."

"That makes things a little easier for me. But, which particular group of students would you recommend that I teach?" Master Hand looked after at Edelgard, Dimitri, and Claude, and whistled to the three of them to get their attention.

"Yo, house leaders, get your butts over here!" Master Hand called out to the trio, who came over to the giant hand and Marth. "Edelgard, Dimitri, Claude...I want you three to meet Marth. Marth, I want you to three the leaders of the three houses - Edelgard of the Black Eagles, Dimitri of the Blue Lions, and Claude of the Golden Deer."

"Marth, the hero-king himself?" asked Edelgard, looking at Marth, as her eyes grew wide with interest. Wasn't that often the noblewoman's face looked some lively. "I've been hearing all sorts of stories about you."

"Oh yes, I'm sure you all have," Marth blushed, as he scratched the back of his head. Being a legendary hero and all, Marth always felt humbled when people told stories about his heroic feats.

"Meeting you is such a tremendous opportunity," Dimitri said to Marth, never imagining in a million years that he would actually meet the hero-king. "Though no opportunity is bigger than learning from your ways."

"It would be an honor for you to teach us," Claude said to Marth, before flashing a smile. "Although you might not be able to handle teaching all three houses!"

"Indeed, Claude, which is why Marth will select the house that he desires to teach the most," stated Master Hand, putting the pressure on Marth. A very hard decision, for the hero-king. "So Marth, what will it be?"

"I dunno, these three leaders presented themselves as students more than worthy of my teaching," replied Marth, knowing that he would have to come to a decision, and fast. "But if I had to choose..."

"Hey, watch where you're aiming that sword!" someone shouted, from the group of students gathered around. Master Hand and company went over to the group of students, and saw the students crowded around in a circle with two students fighting with swords in the center of an open space.

"What's the matter, can't take a hit?" questioned one of the two students fighting - Petra, an exchange student hailing from the Black Eagles.

"You nearly poked out my eye!" retorted the other student involved in the fight - Felix, a nobleman hailing from the Blue Lions. "I could've been seriously hurt!"

"Sweet mother of Masahiro Sakurai, why are you two even fighting each other?!" Master Hand scolded Petra and Felix, who were spooked when Master Hand yelled at them. Like how anyone else should.

"Sorry, Master Hand...we were just bored," Felix apologized to the giant hand, as he and Petra dropped their weapons on the ground. "Just...passing the time."

"Just bored, huh? JUST BORED?! I've seen many of my residents feeling bored, but you never see them complaining and doing stupid things to 'pass the time', do you? DO YOU?!"

"We don't even know your residents...nor have we seen them around complaining," stated Petra as she eyed around, thinking that being a mansion resident must be the worst experience ever.

"Exactly! That's why you should just keep your complaints to yourself, and stop doing stupid stuff! Don't want anyone to get hurt!"

"Neither of us were complaining..." stated Felix only for Master Hand to get up in the nobleman's grill and point his index finger at him. "...but to each their own."

Marth: Maybe I'm the only one who sees it, but Master Hand tends to act like a "old man yelling about young people" type of fellow whenever he's angry and venting off on someone. And it's a good thing that Master Hand isn't an old man, otherwise we'd have to force ourselves to listen to his many "back in my day..." spiels. Master Hand might technically be an old man, but I'm not going down that rabbit hole...

"Just so we're clear, there won't be any fighting of the sort until Byleth and Beleth return," Master Hand announced to the students, making sure they all heard his announcement loud and clear. "Where even are Byleth and Beleth anyways?"

"Master Hand, Master Hand, we have some bad news!" Young Link alerted the giant hand, as he and Toon Link ran out of the mansion. "Byleth, Beleth...they've both gone missing!" The students gasped in shock, when they heard the news.

"What do you mean, they have 'gone missing'?" questioned Edelgard as she furrowed her brow, certain that the buddy cops were making up stories. "I know for a fact that haven't left the mansion."

"We're not sure if they left the mansion at all, but long story short...you know what, just follow us and we'll show you."

So the buddy cops took the three house leaders and Master Hand to their office, where Byleth and Beleth were supposed to be sitting in the chairs. But as it turns out, the two instructors had left! The Duck Hung Dog couldn't hunt the instructors down, for he was chained up to Young Link's bedpost...and also sleeping.

"They were here in our office, sitting in those chairs, as we were asking them about some girl named Sothis," Toon Link explained to Master Hand and the house leaders, while the Duck Hunt Dog slept away. "Some imaginary friend of theirs..."

"What if this Sothis girl was real, and only Byleth and Beleth can see her?" assumed Master Hand, as the buddy cops laughed off the giant hand's theory. "Maybe Sothis left the room, and Byleth and Beleth chased after her."

"This is very troublesome...the students were about ready, too," remarked Edelgard, resting her hand on her temple. "I'm sure Marth was ready to teach the students as well."

"Oh, I'm sure Marth is teaching the students right now, without you knowing...he's wild like that." Edelgard and the other house leaders gave Master Hand a questionable look. "In a relatively good way..."

"Would you mind looking for Byleth and Beleth, Master Hand?" Claude asked the giant hand, knowing that Master Hand had some sixth sense that allowed him to see where anyone was anywhere in the world.

"As much as I would like to help...that's your problem, not mine. Besides, I'm really busy at the moment, got a lot of stuff on my plate. Now if you excuse me, I must partake in the fingernail-painting session that Isabelle wants me to be a part of...that fingernail polish better be clear!"

And with that, Master Hand vanished away, leaving the three house leaders alone with the buddy cops and letting them take care of the current situation. Byleth and Beleth had to be located soon.

"Alright, so here's what we'll do..." Toon Link said to Young Link and the buddy cops, formulating a plan. "...we'll have to split up, and look for the whereabouts of Byleth and Beleth."

"Sounds like a plan," said Dimitri, certain that Byleth and Beleth were still inside the mansion. Perhaps the instructors were hanging out in the gaming room. "We should start looking right away."

"But wait, there's a catch! Edelgard, Dimitri, and Claude...you three will have to go by code names, to protect your identities." The house leaders were not down with the idea, as they furrowed their brows.

"Protect our identities from what, exactly?" questioned Edelgard, interested in what Toon Link's reasoning was. "Why not just use our real names?"

"Because you're not that known around the mansion yet," replied Young Link; never has the integrity of the buddy cops been more questioned than today. "Using your real name is only applicable if you're as well-known and beloved by many around the mansion as we are."

"The 'beloved by many' part sounds...highly debatable." Dimitri and Claude both shared Edelgard's sentiments.

"So here are your code names..." Toon Link said to the wary house leaders, rubbing his hands together. "...Edelgard, your code name is 'Trouble'. Dimitri, your code name is 'Manners'. And Claude, your code name is 'Mind-Your-Own-Business'."

"Why can't you give us better code names, the one you've given us are horrible!" frowned Claude, who was definitely not going worth with the buddy cops' plan.

"We would give you better code names, but Starsky and I already used up the good ones," replied Young Link, understanding how frustrated Claude was.

Young Link: You totally gave Claude the worst of the available code names, didn't you?
Toon Link: You know I had to...pretty boys gotta suffer, amirite? They can't always have it easy...

"And now, we search..." announced Toon Link, as he and Young Link left their office. "...you three let us now if any developments arise. Good luck with the search! And don't wake up our police dog!"

"Do we really have to go through with the code names thing?" Claude asked the other two house leaders, showing his frustration. "It just sounds...so childish."

"I know, but I think we should just go through with it anyways to make the two Links happy," replied Edelgard, as Claude threw his arms up in defeat. "There's a chance the Links might get discouraged, if they hear any of our real names get mentioned..."

"I really don't want to do this...but judging from what I've seen from those two boys, I guess we have no choice," said Dimitri, knowing how proud the buddy cops would be of the house leaders for using their code names. "The sooner we find Byleth and Beleth, the better..."

The house leaders were now on the search for Byleth and Beleth, searching every nook and cranny of the mansion. Edelgard imagined that it would be best to start searching in the most concentrated part of the mansion, so she, Dimitri, and Claude came to the gaming room after hearing the commotion from inside.

"They both have blue hair, and blue eyes, and wear black clothing," Edelgard described Byleth and Beleth in detail to Sonic and Layton, with Dimitri and Claude standing by. "Have you seen them anywhere?"

"No we haven't, I'm afraid," replied Layton, before Edelgard looked around the gaming room. No Byleth nor Beleth in sight. "But this mansion is very big; those two couldn't have gone that far."

"We sure hope so...thank you, anyways." Edelgard led Dimitri and Claude out of the gaming room, with Sonic watching the house leaders leave with a humored smirk on his face.

"Hehe...Manners...Trouble..." the hedgehog giggled, not even trying to stifle his laughter. "...such funny names."

"I'm willing to be those three came up with those names, for their own safety," assumed Layton...maybe the buddy cops weren't so off with their reasoning at all! "To protect their identity."

"Well I mean, if that's the way they want to go..." Sonic looked down at Layton, and saw something in the pocket of the detective's jacket - two tickets. "...hey, where'd did you get those tickets from?" Sonic asked Layton.

"Hmm, what tickets do you speak of?" Thinking that he was slick, Layton stuffed the tickets further down the pocket of his jacket while feigning a smile. "Must be movie tickets for a film we'll be watching together, the two of us. The Lion King! My treat!"

"Yeah, sure, like you expect me to believe that..."

Sonic: That Layton thinks he's so slick... *shakes his head* ...trying to get me to watch that Lion King garbage! Haven't paid attention to that movie franchise because they killed off Mufasa. Most undeserving death in film history, hands down. I got a hunch for what Layton is trying to hide from me...and I'm gonna find out what it is!

The three house leaders walked through the hallways of the mansion, looking for Byleth and Beleth. As they walked, Dimitri suddenly slipped and fell on the floor after stepping on an unsuspecting Poke Doll.

"Woah, WOAH!" the nobleman yelled as he fell unto the floor on his back with a thud - a thud loud enough for Edelgard and Claude to hear, as they stopped and turned around at Dimitri.

"Dimitri!" shouted Claude, as he knelt down at the nobleman's side to see if he was okay. As Edelgard looked on, a certain space pilot tapped her on the shoulder.

"Yo, you got a minute?" a voice said to Edelgard, who turned around and saw Fox. "You're one of those three noble-looking guys walking around, right? Trouble, is that your name?"

"Yes, that is me...though my actual name is Edelgard," replied Edelgard, as Fox appeared somewhat impressed by the fanciness of Edelgard's name. "'Trouble' is just a code name I assumed from Toon Link and Young Link - to make them both happy."

"They made you use unflattering code names, too? Let me tell ya, it's the worst...anyways, I've been told about some a blue-haired man and woman, dressed in black attire and all."

"Beleth and Byleth, those are their names. Tell me, have you seen them?" Edelgard was so interested in Fox's answer, that she dared not to question why she was even speaking with a talking fox.

"Funny thing is...I have! I might've passed them by earlier today. I think I know where they might be...follow me." So Fox walked away, as Edelgard - who looked back at Dimitri and Claude for a brief moment - followed after the pilot.

"Feel alright?" Claude asked Dimitri, after he had helped the fellow house leader back up on his feet. Dimitri nodded, as he rubbed his head.

"My fall wasn't as bad as it looked," responded Dimitri, as Pikachu came by. The mouse Pokemon saw the Poke Doll on the floor and picked it up with his mouth, before looking up at Dimitri and Claude and seeing the former rubbing his head.

"Pika pi," Pikachu apologized to Dimitri, before darting down the hallway with his Poke Doll. Pikachu was undoubtedly the strangest rodent that both Dimitri and Claude had ever seen.

"We should get back to our search," said Claude, before looking around and noticing that one of his friends was no longer present. "Oh dear - where on earth did Edelgard run off to?"

"She would never leave us behind like this," stated Dimitri, as he too wondered about the whereabouts of Edelgard. "Where do you think she might have gone?"

"Perhaps she went outside, and didn't let us know. We should go see for ourselves."

Mega Man and Aigis remained on the mansion roof, and Pit, Kirby, and Incineroar were still there as well. Since nobody from the manor showed up today, Mega Man and company decided to watch the students in the front yard, to pass the time.

"The restriction on using weapons has damaged the spirit of those students greatly," observed Aigis, as she saw several students sitting around, lying on the ground, and the like. "They all look so restless."

"I'm sure we'll get some action pretty soon," said Mega Man, looking at the students through his binoculars, as Kirby approached the blue robot. "What's up, Kirby?"

"May I interest you and Aigis in some oil?" asked Kirby; robots do drink oil, although that can't be said for all robots. "I can get you some diet oil from the storage room, if you like."

"No thanks Kirby, we're good." Mega Man continued to look through his binoculars, as he saw Dimitri and Claude making their way to Mario's home. "Hey, where's that woman that's supposed to be with them...?"

"Should we really bother the neighbors?" Dimitri asked Claude, as the two house leaders stood at the front of Mario's home.

"There's a good chance that Edelgard spoke with the neighbors about Byleth and Beleth," replied Claude, as Dimitri was inclined to disagree with the nobleman. "Or Byleth and Beleth could be hanging out in one of the neighbor's homes, for all we know."

"Which I highly doubt...I'll just stick around outside, you can go on in."

So Claude walked down the walkway, and knocked on Mario's front door once he reached it. Seconds later, the door was opened by Mario, who was holding Jennifer in his arm.

"Oh my, a visitor!" gleamed Mario, who was more open and friendly to greeting visitors than most of his neighbors were. "Come on in!" Claude stepped inside Mario's house, where he saw Luigi in the living room playing with Charles. Spyro and Hunter were also present.

"Howdy!" Luigi waved to Claude, who waved back as Mario closed the front door. Hunter got a good look at Claude, seeing the quiver on the nobleman's back.

"That dude looks like an archer," Hunter whispered to Spyro, feeling jealous about Claude already. "Either he wants to show me up in an archery battle...or he wants to slay you for being a dragon."

"For the sake of the both of us, let's just hope that neither of those options are true," remarked Spyro, as he rested his head on the living room couch.

Spyro: Hunter and Link had an archery battle on Tuesday. That was also the day in which Magnus got sent to the ER, after being punctured by like, seven arrows. Guess which archer was responsible.

Magnus: *nursing one of the seven patched wounds on his body* ...yeah, I really don't wanna talk about it.

"So what brings-a you here, my good friend?" Mario asked Claude, slightly interested in the nobleman's life story. Provided that said life story wasn't that long and drawn out.

"I'm, uh, looking for Trouble," Claude replied, before frowning; should have just said that he was looking for Byleth and Beleth (or just say that he was looking for Edelgard). Thanks to his error, Mario and Luigi got angry, and so did Hunter.

"Uh oh, Spyro, I think this archer guy wants to kill you!" Hunter told the dragon, hopping up off the couch like he wanted to challenge Claude.

"Doesn't sound like he wants to kill me..." Spyro said before letting out a yawn, well-aware of how nice Claude was just by the tone of his voice.

"Oh, so you're looking for-a trouble, eh?" frowned Luigi, as he stood up while tightening his fists. "Came-a here to throw some hands?"

"Why don't you tell-a us what your name is?" an angry Mario asked Claude, who knew that he was bound to find himself in trouble. No pun intended.

"My name is...Mind-Your-Own-Business," replied Claude, with a heavy amount of regret. Oh how much he wanted to break away from Edelgard's proposition. But, as Edelgard said...gotta make the buddy cops happy.

"How very rude!" remarked a ticked off Luigi; if he knew about Claude's noble status, he'd be even more ticked. "Where are-a your manners?!"

"...outside?" Claude replied with a smile, hoping to receive the benefit of the doubt. No such benefit was received, as the Mario Bros looked ready to throw hands with Claude - in front of their own children.

"You know what a mouth-a like yours gets ya?" Mario asked Claude, gently placing Jennifer in her high chair before rolling up his sleeves. "A Mario Bros-a style beatdown!"

"No, you don't understand! My actual name is Claude! 'Mind-Your-Own-Business' is just some fake name I was using. My real name is Claude!"

"Look at this poser, giving himself a real-a name to save his butt!" Luigi said to Mario, before shamefully shaking his head at Claude. "How about we teach-a him a lesson?"

"Cl-Claude, are you still in there?" a girly voice asked from outside, behind Mario's door. Mario and Luigi cooled their jets, as Claude opened the door and saw Bernadetta - a very shy noblewoman from the Black Eagles.

"Ah, Bernadetta!" Claude smiled at the shy archer girl, as Claude also saw Dimitri standing by at the doorstep. "Something going on, Dimitri?"

"Bernadetta here just told me that Edelgard is in the tower next to the mansion," Dimitri explained to Claude, who was delighted. "Hubert and Lorenz claimed they saw her there, with some talking fox."

"That Hubert, just can't stand to be without Edelgard...and I bet Lorenz only came to the tower, just to flirt with a few ladies."

"But that's not all - Hubert and Lorenz also claimed that the teachers are at the tower as well." This news brought even more delight to Claude.

"Byleth and Beleth are at the tower? They were at the tower this whole time?! What are waiting for, let's go!" Claude followed after Dimitri and Bernadetta before looking back at the Mario Bros. "Nice seeing you all!"

"Nice seeing you...too?" responded Mario, several seconds after Claude had left. The plumber was too dumbfounded to close his open front door. "What was that-a all about, I wonder?"

"Looks like you get to live another day, buddy," Hunter told Spyro, patting the purple dragon on his back; Spyro rolled his eyes, before napping away.

Normally, being the hard-working police officers that they were, Toon Link and Young Link would stay on track during their mission to find Byleth and Beleth. But when crime broke out at the mansion, however, the buddy cops had no choice but to divert from their current task.

"This is what you get for cheating on your lover!" Toon Link said to Doc Louis, as he and Young Link were kicking Doc Louis repeatedly in the lounge. Doc Louis covered his head with his hands, holding a half-eaten chocolate bar while Akihiko looked on.

"I'm telling you boys this is my new love, Monique!" Doc Louis pleaded his case, saying the name of the chocolate bar he was eating. "I already ate my former lover the other day!"

"Doc Louis admitted that he's cannibalistic, kick him harder!" shouted Young Link, as the buddy cops kicked Doc Louis even harder. Akihiko looked on while biting his nails, unsure if he should save Doc Louis or not.

Akihiko: I would've interfered and rescued Doc Louis from his beatdown, but knowing the buddy cops...it wouldn't have been for the best.

"Inspect the chocolate bar!" Toon Link said to Young Link, after the kicking session was over. While Doc Louis writhed in pain, Young Link took the chocolate bar out of the boxing trainer's hand and gasped.

"It's a caramel candy bar!" exclaimed Young Link as he showed the candy bar to Toon Link, who nodded his head thoughtfully. "You know what this means?"

"Caramel is associated with being light-skinned...being light-skinned is associated with being privileged...therefore Doc Louis must think that he's privileged!"

"Does this mean that you're gonna kick me again?" whined Doc Louis, fearing for the worst as he covered his head. "Ooh, why does it have to be me..." Suddenly, the phone in the lounge rang, distracting the buddy cops.

"One moment, boys," Akihiko said to the buddy cops, saving Doc Louis from being kicked again as he ran over to the phone and answered. "Hello?...Yes?...Yeah, they're here in the lounge. Toon Link, Young Link...it's for you."

"It is?" asked Toon Link, as he ran over to Akihiko and took the phone from the boxer. "Hello? Edelgard, is that you? Did you find Byleth and Beleth?"

"...no, it's me, Fox," replied the person on the phone, Fox, in a very deadpan tone. "But yes, we found Byleth and Beleth. Come over to the tower balcony."

Letting Doc Louis off the hook, the buddy cops headed to the tower, taking the bridge. Upon arrival at the balcony, they saw Fox, the three house leaders - Edelgard, Dimitri, and Claude - and Byleth and Beleth, who were seated at a table sipping tea with Peach and Zelda.

"Byleth, Beleth, we found you!" Toon Link pointed at the two instructors; Beleth, who was drinking his tea, nearly dropped his teacup on his lap when he heard Toon Link say his name.

"...and so, our extended break from the Links has come to an end," remarked Byleth, with a slight tint of disappointment in her voice. "It was fun while it lasted..."

"We still had a great time, regardless," Zelda said to Byleth; the princess tried to make Byleth smile during the tea party, but her attempts were futile. "You, me, Peach, Beleth...and your friend, Sothis."

"Yes, Sothis is such great company!" gleamed Peach; it should be noted that there was a fifth chair for Sothis, at the table. "Even though Zelda and I can't see her."

"How can an imaginary friend be great company?" questioned Young Link, believing that both Peach and Zelda were insane. "She's only imaginary to..."

"Young Link, Sothis is NOT an imaginary friend! She's just a girl who can't physically appear; she can only appear in Byleth and Beleth's minds, as I've been told. You just can't see her, that's all!"

"We can't see her...so she must be some kind of medieval ancestor to John Cena." Young Link stroked his chin in thought, while everyone else save for Toon Link thought he was a weirdo "Ah, now it all makes perfect sense..."

Beleth: Running away to escape from Toon Link and Young Link, and running into Princess Peach and Princess Zelda and having a tea party afterwards? Best decision we've done today. Let alone this week.
Byleth: *nods her head in agreement*

Peach: Though neither me nor Zelda could see Sothis, we kinda played along and had a few conversations with her. I had to do more of the discussion than Zelda did.

"Now would be a good time to head back down to the front yard," said a nobleman stepping out into the balcony, speaking with Edelgard; it was Hubert. "The students might be waiting..."

"Did someone say something about students?" inquired Master Hand, magically appearing at the balcony as Hubert jumped back out of slight fear. "Don't tell me that the students are fighting again..."

"Hello again, Master Hand," Beleth greeted the giant hand, capturing his attention. Master Hand was startled when he saw Beleth and Byleth, before seeing everyone else on the balcony.

"Byleth and Beleth, there you are!" Master Hand sounded happy and jovial, as he directed his attention to the buddy cops. "It appears that the buddy cops finally found you!"

"Yes...they sure did." If only the buddy cops had shown up sooner. "But now that we're found...I guess we should head back to the front of the mansion and start teaching those students."

"Woah woah woah...pause," said Fox, as he did the timeout signal with his hands. "You mean to tell me that you came to this city, just to teach some students?"

"Is that a problem?" Byleth asked Fox, wondering what the pilot's big deal was. "We could've done the teaching in our home continent, but..."

"Hear me out - who, in their right mind, brings a bunch of students to some faraway place, just to teach them? If I were you, and me and my were in some foreign land, I'd let the students hang loose and have fun! You guys are way too practical."

"I suppose it'd be best if we had the students...unwind a little," agreed Beleth, exchanging looks with Byleth, before looking at the three house leaders. "Edelgard, Dimitri, Claude, what do you think?"

"I wouldn't mind a little rest and relaxation," replied Edelgard, as Dimitri and Claude nodded in agreement. With the three house leaders on board, Byleth and Beleth's minds were made up.

"Okay then...we should head back to the front yard, and let the others know."

Mega Man was slacking on the job, during patrol duty? Why? Because the robot was fast asleep. Sleeping was something Mega Man only did in Smash battles, but here was the blue bomber, sleeping on the roof of the mansion near the edge.

"Mega Man, look..." Aigis said to the robot, waking him up by tapping his shoulder. Mega Man quickly lifted his eyes open, and grabbed his binoculars as he looked down below.

"All those students are gone!" observed Mega Man, seeing literally nobody outside at the mansion's front yard. "And it looks like Marth went back home. Did those students head back home as well?"

"Hey kid - got anymore snacks?" someone asked Pit - still chilling on the roof with Kirby and Incineroar - as Raphael and Ingrid showed up at the roof. "We're still feeling pretty hungry!"

"You want some, come get some!" responded Pit, as Raphael and Ingrid hurried over. Seeing as there was too much commotion on the roof, Mega Man stormed away and headed back inside.

As orders from Byleth and Beleth, the students from the Black Eagles, Blue Lions, and Golden Deer had to do one thing, and one thing only...let loose and enjoy the rest of the day. Understandably, the students from the three houses were shocked beyond belief to hear such orders from Byleth and Beleth of all people, but they were more than happy to oblige. Although some students...might've taken the orders a bit too seriously.

"Seriously Linhardt, you're just going to nap all day?" Caspar, a nobleman from the Black Eagles, scolded fellow Black Eagles nobleman Linhardt, who was sleeping in the gaming room on a couch next to Banjo. Banjo was playing a tune on his banjo for his two spectators Dedue and Leonie - commoners from the Blue Lions and Golden Deer, respectively.

"Leave him alone, he's obviously very tired..." Dedue said to Caspar in the calmest way possible, as Caspar threw his arms up in defeat and stormed away, walking past Sonic and Layton.

"A surprise amount of visitors today..." remarked Layton, seeing a couple of students from the three houses in the gaming room. The detective suddenly felt a handd near his chest... "...Sonic, what are you doing?"

"Oh, nothing - just wanted to see those movie tickets," replied Sonic, smiling sheepishly as he retracted his hand from the pocket on Layton's jacket. "I'm so nosy..."

Sonic: I think I really know what Layton is trying to do...him and Luke. That Layton better not be too quick, though, if he knows what's good for him.

Byleth and Beleth resumed their tea party with Peach and Zelda...and Sothis...in the dining room, with Edelgard, Dimitri, and Claude invited to attend. The seven (technically eight) were enjoying the tea party, while buddy cops Toon Link and Young Link looked on.

"Hilda, is that you in the kitchen?" Claude called out to someone, as noblewoman Hilda of the Golden Deer appeared in the dining room. Claude held up his plate for Hilda to see. "Would you mind getting me some more scones?"

"Anything for you, Claude!" smiled Hilda, walking over to Claude and grabbing the nobleman's plate. Just when she was about to leave, Hilda took sight of Peach and more importantly, her dress. "Where did you get that dress?" Hilda asked.

"From...Toadstool?" responded Peach; she wasn't entirely confident where she even got her dress from. "Why, do you like it?"

"Like it? I absolutely love it! It looks so cute and adorable and everything!" Hilda soon found herself in a conversation with Peach about stuff princesses wear, while a disgruntled Claude looked on.

"Well, Hutch...all's well that ends well," Toon Link said to Young Link, while Peach and Hilda chatted away. The buddy cops saw Doc Louis show up in the corner of their eye, with a whole chocolate bar in hand; Doc Louis got nervous, fast.

"I can assure you, this is the same chocolate bar with caramel," Doc Louis said to the buddy cops, backing away as the buddy cops drew closer. "I just...added some more caramel so I could, you know...please myself..."

"AFTER HIM!" shouted Young Link, as he and Toon Link chased after the retreating Doc Louis. Everyone at the table saw the chase unfold, before ignoring it completely as they went back to their conversations.

Better hope that Sothis was a part of said conversations, somehow and someway.

Toon Link: As it turns out, Sothis is indeed real - just a girl who can only appear in Byleth and Beleth's minds. Two for the price of one. Hutch and I were wrong for thinking Byleth and Beleth had schizophrenia. And were liars. Will we admit that we were wrong ever again? Not unless pigs can fly. And we'll make darn sure that they never fly, either. Now Hutch...theme song.
Young Link: *sings Law and Order theme song*
