Author's Note:

Here I am, once again, torn into pieces...yadda yadda yadda. You were all waiting for the next chapter to drop, weren't you?

Sadly, I had Internet problems...again, as my Internet was out for the third time this year. Had no Internet access for over a week (which might sound extremely unfathomable for some). But the good news is, I got a new Internet provider, so I'm back in business. I'll pick up right where I left off, and publish a new chapter every day until I'm caught up - which should last me until October 3rd, unless I run into any problems. If I lose Internet access again, I just might lose it...

...so! The story at hand. This is a chapter based around Paper Mario: The Origami King. This chapter is one of the few chapters where I, ermprocrastinated. Procrastination is bad, kids - don't do it. Wish I could do a bit more with this chapter, but it is what it is. Enjoy!

Episode 239: Origami

It might sound like a bit of a surprise, but Mario and Luigi never spent much quality time together in recent times - outside of their visit to the Isle of Armor. The twin brothers were always so busy being family men, with Mario taking care of his family, and Luigi taking care of his family. Guile would be so proud of those plumbers.

But the Mario Bros eventually found the time to spend some quality bro time together, as the two went on a road trip around Seattle. Feeling slightly inspired by King Dedede's road trip in the episode prior, Mario and Luigi went on a road trip of their own, traveling around Seattle and King county. No, they didn't stop anywhere, but being on the road and bonding together was what was most important to them.

"Isn't this great, bro?" Luigi asked Mario, as he was driving back to his house in his green Charger. Mario felt relaxed, his window rolled down as the gentle breeze brushed against his mustache. "Back on the road again-a together!"

"You still got-a Princess Peach's gift, right?" Mario asked Luigi, who fumbled around underneath his driver's seat as he was reaching for something. Eventually, Luigi pulled out a gift box.

"Ah, so that's where I put-a that necklace at...hehe." It was a good thing Mario reminded his forgetful brother, otherwise Luigi would've been screwed.

Soon the Mario Bros reached Luigi's home, as Luigi pulled up into his driveway. Mario and Luigi both got out of the car.

"I can't wait until Peach sees-a this necklace I got for her," Luigi said to Mario, as the Mario Bros went over to Mario's house. "Once-a she sees that necklace, she'll fall-a head over heels!"

"I'd-a love to see that..." remarked Mario as he went up to his front door, before inserting his house key. The plumber tried to open the door, but it wouldn't budge. "...huh? This door won't-a open. Princess Peach! Spyro! Hunter! Come open up!"

Ness: Not sure if I should be even sharing this, but I saw some folks leave the attic...and one of them was carrying some storybook with them! I sure hope it's not the storybook that I'm thinking of, but if it is... *gulps nervously*

To the Mario Bros' great surprise, the front door magically opened, and there was nobody inside the living room. No Spyro, no Hunter, no Poochy, no Jennifer, and no Peach - it was just empty. Mario and Luigi cautiously entered the house, and that's when Luigi realized that something was wrong.

"Mama mia!" the green plumber panicked, with his hands on his head. What could possibly be wrong, what was the emergency at hand? "I forgot Peach's gift, I left-a it in the car!"

"Well then, go get it..." Mario said to Luigi, who stopped panicking as he was about to head out the front door. But before Luigi could leave, the front door magically closed itself, as Luigi was only inches away.

"What the..." Luigi tried to open the front door, but it wouldn't open. The plumber got all panicky again, taking deep breaths as he walked away from the door. "...okay, Luigi, this is no time-a to freak out. Just remember - if you don't-a know what to do, ask-a Mario!"

"I'm standing right-a here..." Luigi looked up, and laughed sheepishly when he saw that Mario was indeed standing in front of him.

"Oh, right..." Suddenly footsteps were head, and they were coming from the stairs. Mario and Luigi stayed put where they were, as they anticipated an unlikely visitor to make their presence known.

But to the Mario Bros' surprise, there wasn't a visitor, as Peach came down from the stairs and approached Mario and Luigi in the living room. But there was something drastically different about Peach...the princess looked like she was made entirely out of paper, from head to toe.

"Wow, Peach, you sure look...different," Mario said to his wife, as seeing his soulmate being made entirely made out of paper made him feel very uncanny. "That sure is...one-a heck of a glow-up you got there. Did you get your face-a done?"

"How good to see you, Mario and Luigi..." Peach said to the Mario Bros, and the manner in which she spoke was quite unnerving. Only thing missing at the moment was some creepy-sounding music. "Answer me this...shouldn't this world that we live in unfold? And be refolded unto glory?"

"That sounds like a very loaded-a question...but sure, why not," replied Luigi, who couldn't care less about how Peach looked, or the questions she asked - he just wanted to give the princess her necklace.

"And what about Toads? Do you think that they should be silenced, for all eternity?"

"Absolutely not, Toads-a are our friends!" answered Mario, before leaning in close to Luigi so he could whisper something in his ear. "Definitely sounds-a like Peach was off her meds-a this morning, I can tell..."

"Last question...will you crease yourself, and be reborn like me?" At this point the Mario Bros had enough of Peach's questions, which were getting creepier by the second.

"Enough-a with the questions, Peach! Where are the others? Where's Spyro and Hunter, and-a Poochy, and our daughter Jennifer? What's going on-a here?"

"Wrong answer, right answer...it matters not. Your replies are paper thin. Goodbye..."

A trap door suddenly opened up underneath the Mario Bros, as Mario and Luigi both fell to their doom. A world refolded into glory, Toads silenced forever, being reborn...there was seriously some bad mojo afoot, especially if Peach's changed appearance was a huge indicator of anything.

Mario and Luigi both got up after their fall, and when they looked around and observed their surroundings, they realized that they were inside Mario's bunker. Much better than being stuck inside a bottomless pit...depending on who you ask.

Mario: My own house has a trap-a door...I learn so many new-a things about my house each and every day. Just the other day I learned-a that my house has a sauna, right underneath-a the kitchen. Won't tell Peach about it.

"Mario! Luigi!" a voice called out to the Mario Bros, who looked over and saw Spyro and Hunter chilling down in the bunker. With them were Poochy and Jennifer, with the latter being held by Hunter.

"There you guys are!" exclaimed Mario as he ran over to Spyro and Hunter. He took Jennifer away from Hunter, and saw that the two-year old was asleep. "Don't think I can trust-a you to hold Jennifer, Hunter..."

"Man, you're just like Peach...always worrying for no reason," grumbled Hunter, who thought of himself as the best babysitter in the world. "I've barely harmed your daughter, while you were out! Except for almost dropping her, on this hardwood floor."

"...and that gives-a me enough reason to never trust-a you with Jennifer again." Mario took a few steps away from Hunter, ensuring that Jennifer was nowhere close to the cheetah.

"So, what happened here?" Cappy asked Spyro and Hunter, having loads of questions about what transpired to Peach and her overall candor. "Why is Peach so...paper-like and creepy?"

"All I remember was, we heard this loud noise from upstairs," explained Spyro, as he did his best to recollect the strange events that occurred while the Mario Bros went on their road trip. "Then Peach came down, looking like she did...then she asked us a few questions, and tossed us down here in the bunker."

"That's when I almost dropped the kid," confessed Hunter, showing very little remorse for nearly harming Jennifer. He believed that as long as Jennifer wasn't seriously injured or dead, it was all good.

"Right...and does Princess-a Daisy know about this?" asked Mario, wondering if Daisy ever paid Peach a visit while he and Luigi were gone.

"Funny thing is, she was thrown into the bunker like an hour ago. But then she left through that tunnel to the mansion, just to escape."

"Then why haven't you two escaped yet?" Cappy asked Spyro and Hunter; apparently this was a very thought-provoking question for Hunter, who struggled to come up with a suitable answer.

"You know, I did forget to put on some deodorant today...that would explain why Daisy left us behind." At least Hunter could say that he was one with the stereotypical Smash Bros competitive player.

"Perhaps somebody at the mansion could clue-a us in as to what happened with Peach," assumed Luigi as he looked towards the tunnel that led to the mansion. "I just hope that the thing that happened-a to Peach didn't happen to the others..."

Mario and company went through the tunnel, before arriving inside the mansion as they pulled their way out of the trap door in the foyer. To their surprise, they saw a bunch of paper Shy Guys, seen carrying Ganondorf away.

"Put me down, I am the King of Gerudo!" Ganondorf shouted at the paper Shy Guys as they carried him away. "This is no way to show respect to a king!"

"Paper Shy Guy...that's something you don't-a see everyday," remarked Luigi, watching as the paper Shy Guys casually tossed Ganondorf out the front door. "Where did they come-a from?"

"Those aren't the kind-a of Shy Guys you see in the Paper Mario world," observed Mario, seeing that the Shy Guys in question were not 2-D like the ones you see in Paper Mario. "They look like they're made-a out of...origami?"

"Peach looked like she was made out of origami, too," remarked Cappy, before gasping in shock when a certain theory popped in his head. "What if the Peach we spoke back at your house was a different Peach?"

"No...one-a Peach is already enough for me to handle. That woman still has-a her faults. But two Peaches? No siree!"

Ganondorf was lying face-first on the ground, disgruntled that those Shy Guys had the audacity to disrespect a man of his caliber. Pulling himself up off the ground, Ganondorf stood back up as he gritted his teeth.

"Those lousy Shy Guys messed with the wrong Gerudo!" the demon lord said, vowing to make the Shy Guys pay with his Sword of Sages. "I have the faintest clue about where they came from, but once they get a taste of my sword..."

"Ganondorf, are you okay?" someone asked the demon lord, who saw Silas coming towards his way. Accompanying Silas was his adoring girlfriend, Kamui. "Kamui and I just saw you get flinged out of the mansion. Corrin wasn't trying to use 'the Force' again, was he?"

"Oh no, uh, I just...threw myself out of the mansion on purpose. Tried to teach Corrin a lesson. You don't know what it's like to deal with your brother, Kamui."

Silas: Everything has been going swell so far with me and Kamui. We certainly have spent lots of quality time together, and the residents of the mansion have been very inviting to me - even the malcontents. The only issue I have at the moment is Corrin...I'd love, love, to go on a double date, with me and Kamui and Corrin and Felicia, but Corrin is just making it...hard.

Kamui: Corrin's love for Star Wars and all things science fiction has completely gotten out of hand...he's been trying to "prove" to everyone that he had the Force, and it only gave him a black eye after he tried to squeeze Wario's neck. Didn't even know that Wario had a neck. That's how Corrin acts around the mansion...imagine how he typically conducts himself in public.

"I can only imagine how you feel, Ganondorf..." Kamui said to the demon lord with her hand on her chest, before looking and seeing a figure hovering above the mansion. "...what's that up there?"

"Whuzzat?" asked Ganondorf as he turned around, and saw a paper Shy Guy just hovering in the air. Mastering the art of levitation. "Oh, it's just a Shy Guy...he must've been with the ones that tossed me out of the mansion."

"I thought you said that you threw your own self out of the mansion," Silas said to Ganondorf, leaving the demon lord stumped. But there was more important stuff going on, as the paper Shy Guy kept hovering in the air...

...until it unfolded himself, revealing his true identity as some origami being with a crown and a royal purple gown. This origami fellow hovered menacingly in the air, looking down upon Ganondorf and company.

"I am...KING OLLY!" the origami fellow shouted out, making his voice heard around the premises of the mansion and beyond. "All Toads in this world will be..."

"I'm sorry, are you supposed to be some kind of evil king?" Ganondorf called out to King Olly, confused as to whether he should feel threatened or not. "Maybe it's because of your size, but you don't look that threatening."

"Oh, so that's how it's going to be, hmm? Judging a book by its cover...I'll have no choice but to dispose of you, and your friends. Folded soldiers, come out!"

Coming out from the mansion were King Olly's Folded Soldiers, all of whom were classic Mario enemies but in origami form. The guard dogs Copper and Booker, who were guarding the mansion, immediately jumped out of the way when the Folded Soldiers made their appearance.

"Oh no, those Shy Guys that threw me out must be with them!" panicked Ganondorf, before realizing what he just said; he could feel Kamui and Silas staring at him. "Uh, I mean...the Shy Guys that saw me toss myself out the mansion, of course."

"Folded Soldiers, take those cretins away, to a place where I won't have to deal with them," commanded King Olly, as the Folded Soldiers marched over to Ganondorf and company and carried them away on their backs. "Can't have anyone getting in the way of my Toad genocide."

"Don't get too cocky, mister! Just want until Mario gets through with you!" Ganondorf had this to say to King Olly as he, Kamui, and Silas were carried away by the Folded Soldiers. Mario's name was very familiar to King Olly, who now took it upon himself to eliminate more "distractions".

"Mario, hmm? I suspect he's somewhere in that mansion. Better hope that he hasn't found my little sister yet...provided she made it over here." And with that, King Olly went away, taking matters into his own hands.

"Well, Copper, I think we're done for..." Booker told his partner-in-crime, too chicken to deal with King Olly and his Folded Soldiers. "I think we should just retire, and head back to Smashville..."

"You're really gonna let some lousy origami creatures scare you, Booker?" Copper scolded the bulldog, smacking him in the back of his head. "They're literally nothing but sentient paper, what's so scary about that?!"

"I don't know, but I've seen a lot of scary-looking origami in my lifetime...that origami spider Brewster made that one time still gives me nightmares..."

"It wasn't even a spider, for Pete's sake...c'mon, let's go inside and inform Mario about the situation." So Copper headed inside the mansion, as a reluctant Booker followed suit.

Mario and company saw a bunch of Folded Soldiers throughout the mansion, and they were doing nothing but causing trouble. For instance, several Folded Soldiers were seen carrying a vending machine out of the vending machine room.

"Get back here, I haven't even made my selection yet!" Ken Masters shouted at the Folded Soldiers, as he chased them down the hallway. "Got no clue where you guys came from, but if you don't stop right now, you're gonna get it!"

"So the mansion is being ravaged by origami creatures, this is nice," Spyro remarked rather sarcastically, figuring that he and the others would have to save the day and kick some origami butt. "I'll take this over some make-believe 'alien invasion'..."

"The Wonderful 101 are all aliens, and you know it!" Hunter shouted at Spyro, picking a very interesting hill to die on. Better not let him into Area 51.

Hunter: Funny how the Wonderful 101 never showed up again, after they visited the mansion. They act like all the other aliens - they show up at your place, steal your most precious information, and then leave, plotting to use whatever info they stole against you in the future! That's why I keep my secrets under the wraps, like my secret love for antiquated Barbie dolls. *pauses* What was I talking about again?

"Hey Mario and Luigi, up here! Help a buddy out!" someone called out to the plumber, and it sounded like it came from above. Mario and company looked up - startled to see Bowser hanging from the ceiling by a rope.

"Woah Bowser, how did you end-a up there?" Luigi questioned the koopa king, who was hanging upside down from the ceiling with the blood rushing to his head. "That's one-a heck of a predicament you found yourself in."

"A bunch of origami Goombas did this to me! Not sure how, since they don't even have any arms, but they somehow found a way..."

"Don't worry Bowser, Spyro will save-a you," Mario assured the koopa king, before directing his attention to Spyro. Spyro decided against it at first, but was left with no other choice as he heaved a heavy sigh.

"The one time I'll probably ever help out a bad guy..." the purple dragon said, before flying up and blowing his flame breath on the rope that held Bowser from the ceiling. The rope burned to a crisp, as Bowser fell to the floor with a thud.

"Could've given me a warning, you stupid dragon..." Bowser said to Spyro, who flew back down on the floor Mario and Luigi offered to help Bowser up to his feet.

"Help, can someone help me?" a muffled voice called out to Mario and company, crying out for help from a place where they were unseen. "I'm stuck!"

"You guys hear that?" Bowser asked the others as he looked around, trying to figure out where the voice was coming from. "Sounded like a mouse...thought we got rid of the mouse problem. That exterminator guy last week must suck!"

"Where-a are you?" Mario called out to this mysterious voice, looking up and down and yet seeing nobody in sight. The plumber looked at the nearby wall, and saw a sheet of paper on it that he had never seen before.

"I'm trapped behind this sheet of origami..." replied the muffled voice, coming from behind the sheet of paper stuck on the wall. How they were even trapped behind it was quite a mystery. "The only way you can rescue me, is if you had the 1,000-Fold Arms to..."

Mario did not possess these 1,000-Fold Arms, so he just grabbed the sheet of origami paper off the wall, and peeled it off, freeing the being trapped behind it. That being turned out to be an origami girl, just like King Olly, but yellow in color.

"Wow, what an anti-climatic way to save someone..." grumbled Bowser, like he could possibly one-up Mario in any way he could. "...should've just burned the paper down, that's what I would've done."

"Oh wow, thanks for saving me..." the yellow origami girl thanked Mario, before taking a double take at the plumber. "...Mario?! You saved me without the 1,000-Fold Arms?!"

"Uh...I guess," shrugged Mario, as he left the yellow origami girl in even more shock.

"And you can use your own voice, too?! This is amazing!" The origami girl then looked towards Luigi and Bowser, quickly recognizing who they were. "I see you're with your twin brother and hideous-looking turtle friend, so that's nice."

"Hey, what is that supposed to mean?!" frowned Bowser, as he wanted to burn the yellow origami girl to a crisp with his flame breath. "Don't make me turn you into ashes!"

Bowser: I take my looks very seriously - I want everyone to acknowledge my good looks, just to have Peach convinced of how handsome I am. Every single day, I hope and pray that Peach legitimately likes me. And if I ever find out that she doesn't, then it will be in that moment that life for me just ain't worth living.

"This is kinda cool, I never saw talking origami before," remarked Spyro, as he and Hunter got a closer look at the yellow origami girl. "Let alone any kind of origami in general..."

"Wow, a dragon and a cheetah...never seen those before!" marveled the yellow origami girl, trying her best to contain her excitement. "The only thing I ever see are Toads."

"Sounds like this origami chick doesn't get out as much," Hunter whispered to Spyro, unsure of whether he should feel sympathetic, or amused. "She could be sheltered."

"Let's not jump to conclusions..." Spyro said to Hunter, before bringing his attention back to the yellow origami gir. "So, uh, what's your name, and where did you come from?"

"I'm Olivia, and I came from a paper universe," the yellow origami girl introduced herself, as the mere mention of the paper universe struck a chord within the Mario Bros. "Funny thing is, I ended up here from some storybook..."

"Did you just-a say...storybook?" asked Mario, as some bad memories of the events from episodes 33 and 34 entered his brain. Luigi didn't have that many bad memories, since he was too busy masquerading as Mr. L during that time.

"Yeah, the Paper Mario storybook! I think that's what it was called. Now, I'm in this different dimension, which would explain why you and Luigi and Bowser aren't 2-D..."

"Anything else-a that we need to know?" Luigi asked Olivia, now wanting to know who tampered with the storybook in the attic. "Like, are there any bad-a guys that escaped from the storybook?"

"Well, I saw my evil brother King Olly escape from the storybook, along with his evil legion of Folded Soldiers. I heard him talking about his plan to eliminate all Toads, and using Princess Peach as a catalyst for his..."

"He wants to use my Princess Peach for evil purposes?!" growled Bowser, acting like Peach was his one-and-only possession. Which he had a strong habit of doing. "I don't even know who this King Olly bum is, but I already know that he's gonna go down!"

"Looks like I might have some explaining to do...but we can't stand around here. We have to stop my brother, before he gets away with anything. Now where to start..."

Cortex was out and about outside the mansion, strolling with Uka, Pit, and Brio. None of them had any idea about King Olly's takeover, not yet at least.

"Soon, boys, I'll not only be the man of the mansion, but the king of the kingpin!" an ecstatic Cortex said to his compadres, smiling from ear to ear. Brio and Pit shared the evil genius' excitement, whereas Uka rolled his eyes. "That role will be mine for the taking!"

"Only if the other male candidates were to die, somehow," said Uka, knowing that the probability of that ever happening was awfully slim. "Unless that happens, then you're just living in la la land."

"Once a hater, always a hater...but keep on hating, Uka! One day, I will be the king of the mansion, and I will name my love Tiki as my queen!"

"Isn't that Tiki over there?" asked Pit as he pointed at one of the mansion windows; Cortex squealed with glee, as he saw Tiki sitting at the window.

"That is Tiki! I must have a worthwhile conversation with her right away!" So Cortex ran over to Tiki, having a plethora of things he must tell her.

"Dr. Cortex, I don't think it's worth it..." Uka advised the evil genius, but that didn't stop Cortex from reaching the window and looking at Tiki, with a giant grin.

"So, Tiki...how would you like to join yours truly, the future man of the mansion, and rule over the mansion together?" Tiki did not respond to Cortex's question, but Cortex took it in stride. "Now, now, don't give me the silent treatment! No need to be so bashful!"

"Clearly she's so overcome with joy that she's been left speechless," remarked Brio, surprised by how much Tiki was remaining still. Almost like a statue. "She must be blown away by your offer, Dr. Cortex!"

"Why of course, what woman wouldn't be blown away by such an offer? I know you're too shy to speak, Tiki, but just tell me how you really feel."

"Noooo, not my super-realistic life-sized poster of Tiki!" screamed Yoshi, as he ran over and peeled the poster of Tiki off of the window, leaving Cortex shocked. "That thing costs me a fortune!"

"Why...do you...even have..." Now Cortex was the one who was left rendered speechless, as Yoshi took his poster and walked away. Why Yoshi had a poster of Tiki, and why he had it on one of the mansion windows, the world may never know...

Uka: I knew that was a poster of Tiki...I just didn't say anything, just so I could watch Cortex make a fool out of himself.

"Yikes...didn't see that one coming," said Pit, who was feeling bad now that he made Cortex look like a complete buffoon. He was soaking in all the blame.

"Great, just great...now I look like the king of guys who talk to posters!" groaned Cortex, as he stomped his foot on the ground in anger. Just then, the evil genius heard someone screaming...

"No, take me back, take me back!" Marth shouted at a horde of Folded Goombas, who were seen from the distance carrying the hero-king to the mansion. "I don't even live at the mansion anymore! Take me back home, I say!"

"Marth is in trouble and needs my help?" Cortex rubbed his hands together, seeing a great opportunity to help with his candidacy. "This sounds like a mighty job for King Cortex!"

"If for any reason 'King Cortex' starts catching on, please do me a huge favor and put me out into pasture..." Uka whispered to Brio and Pit, wondering how much he could take from Cortex's ongoing campaign. Getting out while he can would be a smart move for him.

Link and Cloud were both aware about the Folded Soldiers taking over the mansion, as the swordsmen were doing their best to eliminate the origami creatures from the mansion. With them was Champion Link, who like Link had his Master Sword ready to go.

"You think we should call Master Hand, let him know that his mansion is being overrun by origami people?" Champion Link asked Link and Cloud, as the three swordsmen traversed through the hallways of the mansion.

"It's not worth it, Master Hand wouldn't answer the call," replied Cloud, knowing that Master Hand would be too busy to indulge in any mansion matters. "If he won't even answer the calls of the search committee..."

"Yep, Master Hand wouldn't answer the call even if the mansion burned down," said Link, being on the lookout for any Folded Soldiers. "I bet you that he and Crazy Hand are being fed grapes, at some beach resort somewhere..."

"But how could they even...oh, that's right, they have 'mouths'. Still think that's a myth."

Cloud: The mansion's apparently being invaded by living origami, and I reckon that Bowser has very little to do with it. I do recall Yoshi making some origami a few weeks ago...if this is anything like that romantic fanfiction book thing, that dinosaur is toast.

The three swordsmen would reach the ballroom, where they heard music coming from behind the ballroom door. It sounded an awful lot like a song you'd hear during a ballet.

"A little too late to be having a ballet performance, don't you think?" asked Link, seeing that it was only two-thirty in the afternoon. "The nerve of these people..."

"Probably just Kasumi getting some ballet practice in," assumed Cloud; Kasumi's Persona had origins in ballet, so it was only fitting that Kasumi did ballet herself. "We should check in to see if Kasumi is okay."

So the three swordsmen approached the ballroom door, and Cloud opened the door expecting to see Kasumi dancing around in the ballroom. Instead, he and the Links encountered a bunch of Folded Shy Guys, wearing tutus, as they were dancing to some rendition of Swan Lake.

"Out of all the weird crap I've seen at the mansion...this one is the most recent," remarked Champion Link, left relatively stunned and confused as Link and Cloud were left speechless. Taking sight of Cloud, a few Folded Shy Guys danced their way over to the swordsman, and dragged him to the center of the ballroom.

"Hey...what are you doing...let me go!" Cloud yelled at the Folded Shy Guys, as one of the Folded Shy Guys danced with Cloud; it twirled the swordsman around, held him up in the air as it spun around, and twirled him around once more.

"Looking real good out there, Cloud," Link grinned at the swordsman, as Champion Link looked away to conceal his laughter. Cloud's ballet performance was nowhere close to that one time he was dancing in the dancing room, but it was still a funny sight.

"One of you two can save me, you know!" Cloud shouted at the Links, as Link would rush into action with his Master Sword. With his sword, Link slashed the Folded Shy Guy that was dancing with Cloud, as it exploded into a million pieces.

Seeing that their fellow dancer had met its end at the hands of Link, the other Folded Shy Guys looked shocked, before ganging up on Link and Cloud. Champion Link, who was looking to escape, was flung towards his swordsman buddies by one of the Folded Shy Guys.

"Well, it's a good thing we came prepared..." Cloud said to his fellow swordsmen, with his Buster Sword ready to go. "...they never said that ballet wasn't better with swords."

Cortex and company were outside the mansion, looking for a way to get in. Of course, they could just enter through the front door, but Cortex for whatever reason was incessant on going through the backdoor.

"Let me in! LET ME IN!" Cortex shouted as he banged his fists on the backdoor, unleashing his inner Eric Andre. Brio would intervene, but he decided to let Cortex do his thing.

"Hey Dr. Brio, can you like, blow down the door with your ray gun?" Pit asked the mad genius, looking down at the ray gun that Brio had concealed in his lab coat pocket.

"I would, but then I would be harming the mansion," replied Brio, who oftentimes held the Smash Mansion in very high regard. "And as you may know, I invented the mansion myself..."

"Oh yeah, how could I forget? This mansion was entirely your idea." Eventually Cortex got tired of banging on the door, as he let out an exhausted grunt.

"Is there nobody in that dining room?" growled Cortex, walking away angrily from the backdoor. "Or are there deaf people in there?!" As Cortex slowly cooled off, the backdoor was opened by Fox, who saw Pit, Brio, and Uka gathered around.

"Ah, Pit, Dr. Brio, Uka! Come on in!" the pilot said to the three, letting them inside the mansion. Cortex, seeing this, ran to the backdoor, but was too late as Fox slammed the door shut.

"No, let me inside, I beg of you!" pleaded Cortex as he banged on the backdoor once again, only to be ignored. The evil genius let out an exasperated sigh, grumbling as he walked away.

Cortex: Wait, I see what's going on here...this is all part of the plan! Fox is purposefully trying to keep me out of the mansion, to put me at a disadvantage. Everyone knows that the hero does his best when he valiantly goes up against the odds, and conquers them. And I just so happen to be the hero of my own story!

Fox: Did you guys hear that? Sounded like some crazy old man, yelling and baning on the door from outside. Whatever it was, it couldn't have been that important...

Mario and company went to the gaming room, which was usually populated with residents. However, the vibe there was vastly different, as there was nobody inside. Complete ghost town.

"This isn't good, this place is always packed!" fretted Bowser, as he saw a literal tumbleweed bounce across the gaming room. "Also, where did that tumbleweed come from?"

"That should be the least-a of our concerns right now," said Mario before looking towards the origami girl that could help save the day, Olivia. "Olivia, what exactly are you good-a for?"

"I can easily turn into a hammer," replied Olivia, demonstrating as she folded herself into a yellow hammer. "Sadly, that's probably the only thing I'm capable of doing, in this dimension..."

"Then that means you're good for nothing at all," remarked Bowser, hurting Olivia's feelings; he didn't have to do the origami girl like that. "Spyro, put this girl out of her misery, will ya?"

"No thanks, I'm not a murderer..." claimed Spyro; the many small animals that Spyro killed during his adventures would have something to say about that. Just then, Copper and Booker came inside the gaming room when they saw Mario.

"Mario, we have some very bad news!" Copper informed the plumber, greatly stressing the importance of the situation at hand. "Our mansion is under attack by..."

"Yes, yes, we're all aware," assured Mario, as he directed Copper and Booker's attention towards Olivia. "This origami girl, Olivia, told us the whole-a story."

"She said her evil brother, King Olly, escaped-a from the Paper Mario storybook," Luigi informed Copper and Booker, the former more skeptical of Olivia than the latter. "And he's using his Folded-a Soldiers to..."

"If King Olly is evil, then that must mean that his sister is evil as well!" assumed Copper as he charged towards Olivia, only to be held back by Booker. "Let me at her, let me at her!"

"No Copper, it's not worth it!" Booker said to his partner-in-crime, pushing him away. "She's living paper, you wanna beat up paper?"

"Says the dog scared of origami! Let me GO!" Suddenly a loud rumble was heard, as Copper and Booker stopped tussling with one another. Everyone was on edge, as they felt the foundation of the mansion shake.

"Aw man, even Seattle gets earthquakes?" whined Hunter, now fearing for his life as he covered in fear. "Mario, you liar - you owe me five bucks!"

"Either that was an earthquake...or my brother is trying to lift this mansion off the ground!" worried Olivia; King Olly lifting the mansion would be one heck of a power move. "He did it with Princess Peach's castle, and he could do it here..."

"Okay, this is getting real out-a of hand," said Mario, who was likely to be held liable for any damages to the mansion. Only because Master Hand didn't feel like putting the responsibility on anyone else. "This mansion ain't-a getting the Up treatment!"

"Yeah, how dare this King Olly bum try to do an evil endeavor before I could!" frowned Bowser, as his hatred for King Olly grew by the minute. "Sending the mansion into the air...that was supposed to be MY idea!"

Cortex would find a way inside the mansion, having to brave through the Rabbids inside the basement to gain access. Once inside, the evil genius had his eyes set on rescuing Marth.

Cortex: Made it inside...now's time to put my heroic story into action! Marth shouldn't be that far, hopefully those fiends put him in a place where I could easily find him. And if Marth is with a bunch of other people I have to rescue, that'll make it all the more...

"Dr. Cortex!" Toad called out to the evil genius, interrupting his talking head segment as he ran towards him. "I need your help, Dr. Cortex!"

"I beg your pardon?" Cortex asked with a gleeful smile; very rarely did anyone ask him for any help, so the evil genius had to cherish the moment.

"I've been hearing murmurings about this King Olly guy that wants to kill all Toads. What stinks for me is, I'm a Toad myself! I don't want to be killed!"

"Are you insinuating that you need someone to protect you - like yours truly?" Cortex smiled at Toad with his hands held together, waiting to hear the answer of confirmation from Toad.

"Well I could really use a bodyguard right about now...I was looking for someone like Heihachi to fill the role, but I can't seem to find him anywhere!"

"Say no more, Toad - I shall be your guardian! I will vow to protect you like how a mother goose protects their young, or like how a diehard K-pop fan protects their favorite idols!"

"...sounds weird, but I'll take your word for it. You can lead the way, Dr. Cortex - I'll follow!"

"This is going to give me so many points for my candidacy..." Cortex excitedly said to himself, rubbing his hands together as he led Toad down the hallway. As long as he didn't screw things up, Cortex was sure to make himself out to be a better candidate...or so he hoped.

Pit, Brio, and Uka were about as far away from King Olly and the Folded Soldiers as possible, as they were eating some noodles in the dining room with Fox and Falco. Or rather Pit and Brio were, since Uka was incapable of consuming anything.

"Don't eat too many noodles, Fox, they're poisonous as you know," Falco warned his friend, throwing some obvious shade at the buddy cops. Fox stopped eating, as he looked down at the bowl of noodles in his hand.

"Welp, I already ate one bowl, so I'm pretty much gonna die soon," Fox said sarcastically, before faking his death as he clutched his chest. "I can already see the light..."

"That's cute - I'll do ya one better!" Pit challenged Fox, before slurping down his entire bowl of noodles; the angel then clutched his chest and his neck, before falling out of his chair and convulsing on the floor.

"Pit, cut it out, this isn't a competition..." Fox told Pit, who ignored the pilot as he continued to convulse - even drooling to make it look legit.

"Yeah, and you're an angel - your death isn't realistic at all," added Falco, as Pit was getting saliva all over the floor. "You're not fooling anyone, bruh."

"Any of you care for some more noodles?" asked Min Min as she came inside the dining room with a tray full of noodles, seeing Pit convulsing on the floor. The martial artist heard from the other residents that Pit was weirdo, and she was now seeing it on full display

Min Min: As I figured, the noodles are now a huge hit at the mansion. But I shouldn't be too surprised - I mean, they somehow made malasadas a thing here. Ask any random person if they knew what a malasada was, and they'd think that you're from South America!...They came from Portugal? Oh, now it makes sense...

"There won't be any noodles consumed, under my watch..." a voice said, as King Olly showed up at the dining room with his Folded Soldier army. He commanded the attention of everyone, including Pit who stopped his convulsion.

"Who are you to tell us what to do, evil origami king that I invented?" Brio questioned King Olly, as he pointed at the origami king. "Your origami minions, I invented them too, don't even try to deny such a fact..."

"Minions, take these fools away." At the command of King Olly, the Folded Soldiers gathered up Pit and company, holding their hands behind their backs. "I won't have anyone interfering with my plans of eradicating all Toads..."

"Whaddaya mean, all Toads?" questioned Pit, trying his best to fend off the Folded Soldiers but to no avail. "We only have one Toad living here...whoops."

"If I can kill just one Toad, then I'll be satisfied. Folded Soldiers, take them away!" So the Folded Soldiers escorted Pit and company out of the dining room, as they were told.

"You won't get away with this!" Min Min vowed to King Olly, unable to use her ARMS as she was escorted away. One of the Folded Soldiers had the tray of noodles that Min Min was holding, and offered it to King Olly.

"No thank you, I don't care for noodles...I'm more of a rice person anyways." How was that possible, given that King Olly lacked a mouth? "Put that tray in the kitchen."

Cortex put his mission of saving Marth on the side, as he now had a new mission to focus on - protecting Toad from King Olly at all costs. To show Toad how much he cared for him, Cortex gave him a bottle of soda he found in a cooler.

"Apparently, whatever mad scientist created this thing thought it would be funny to put liquid into a highly pressurized container," Toad said to Cortex, as he looked at his bottled soda. "Wouldn't you think that's funny, Dr. Cortex?"

"Well depending on how soda bottles typically function..." replied Cortex, before coming to a stop in the middle of the hallway when he heard some ballet music. "...Toad, do you hear that?"

"Yeah, it sounds like it's coming from the ballroom." Toad ran to nearby the ballroom door, pressing its ear against it. "Must be a ballet performance!"

"A ballet performance, and nobody invited me?! How shameful! Time to give whoever's in charge a piece of my mind!"

So Cortex marched over to the ballroom door and opened it, ray gun ready to go. Inside the ballroom, Cortex and Toad saw Link, Cloud, and Champion Link, covered in red origami pieces as the ballroom was littered with origami paper.

"You two were late for ballet practice..." Cloud said to Cortex and Toad, triumphantly holding his Buster Sword over his shoulder. "...missed out on a lot of fun."

"Link? What was going on in there?" Zelda asked the Hylian, showing up in the hallway with Mitsuru; the two ladies were busy patrolling the mansion.

"A bunch of paper Shy Guys were having a ballet concert in the ballroom," explained Link, as both Zelda and Mitsuru made some funny faces. "Trust me, it makes more sense if you saw it for yourself..."

"Origami Shy Guys?" inquired Mitsuru, with her finger underneath her chin, as Link and company dusted off the origami bits. "Any chance you've seen, I dunno...Origami Koopa Troopas?"

"We saw a legion of them just outside the mansion," said Zelda, before looking behind herself for any Folded Soldiers lurking by. "Mitsuru and I just ran into a few not so long ago..."

"That's fine and dandy, but they better not get anywhere close to Toad!" shouted Cortex, as he pointed at Toad; Toad, not knowing how to respond, just smiled and waved. "If they want Toad, they'll have to go through me!"

"Guess that means Toad would be ripe for the taking, then," remarked Link, not having that much faith in Cortex's protection skills. "Why don't you let us protect Toad?"

"Absolutely not! Toad trusts me with his life. Go ahead and tell them how it is, Toad!"

"Hold on just a minute..." said Zelda, right before Toad could speak. "...why does Toad even need any protection, at all?"

"Some King Olly guy wants to kill me...or so I've heard," replied Toad, as the five candidates gathered around the ballroom door now had a target to dispatch. "I've been told that he wants to kill all living Toads!"

"Hey, didn't Ness say that somebody tampered with the Paper Mario storybook?" asked Cloud, having a hunch for where King Olly came from. "What if King Olly came from there?"

"The Paper Mario storybook? Not again..." Zelda facepalmed, as she fondly remembered the chaos that ensued the last time the storybook was messed with. "...well on the bright side, we won't have a Dimentio to deal with."

"You all should work out a plan to get King Olly back in that storybook," Cortex said to the others, before grabbing Toad's hand as he walked away. "I'll make sure that Toad here is safe and free from harm!"

"Too bad he's left in the hands of the wrong person..." mumbled Champion Link, as Cortex walked Toad past Zelda and Mitsuru and continued down the hallway. "...Toad is such a goner."

"At least we'll know who to blame, if or when he dies," remarked Cloud, before directing his attention to Zelda and Mitsuru. "Did Ness ever mention who had the storybook?"

"He thinks that Team Rocket might have it," replied Zelda; Jessie, James, and Meowth, they just couldn't keep themselves out of the attic. "Interestingly enough, I haven't seen those three all day..."

Mario and company were outside the mansion, at the suggestion of Olivia, after the loud rumble that was heard earlier. Five streamers were wrapped around the mansion, in different colors.

"My brother used five streamers to lift Peach's castle into the sky," explained Olivia, as Mario and company looked up in the sky for any signs of King Olly. "I'm afraid that he might do the same thing to the mansion..."

"Quick question: how would you like your brother, medium or well-done?" Bowser asked Olivia, who gave the koopa king a dubious stare. "Well excuse me for asking..."

Bowser: Why is Olivia against me burning her brother to ashes? She's acting like I'm burning a human alive. Has she ever seen actual human flesh before? Are origami people like her that sensitive?

"Look, Mario - up in the sky!" shouted Copper, as he pointed up at the sky; Mario looked up, and saw King Olly floating menacingly in the air.

"That must-a be King Olly..." assumed Mario, clenching his fists as he and King Olly had some kind of staredown going on. Everyone except for Bowser was on edge.

"Pfft, that's supposed to be King Olly?" snorted Bowser, refusing to take King Olly seriously. "I can totally burn him to ashes! Let me at him, Olivia!"

"Ah, if it isn't Mario, Luigi, and Bowser..." said King Olly, hovering down so he could get up close and personal with Mario and company. "...funny seeing you so 'fleshed' out. And Olivia's with you, just as I suspected..."

"Sup guys!" greeted Sonic as he nonchalantly entered the scene, eating a chili dog; the hedgehog saw King Olly, and clicked his finger at the origami king. "Sup dude, nice crown!"

"Who are these people, your friends?" King Olly asked Mario, as he looked around at Spyro, Hunter, Copper, Booker, and Sonic. Seeing those five made Olly quite delighted. "All the more subjects to have dominion over, I suppose..."

"Hey Mario, this guy's pretty cool!" Sonic said to the plumber, who looked at the hedgehog as if he were crazy. "Probably a little misunderstood, but still cool!"

"A little misunderstood?!" frowned Mario, before the ground shook yet again. Suddenly, the mansion was lifted up into the air by the streamers.

"Don't mind if I borrow your mansion..." King Olly said to Mario and company, as the mansion was very lifted from its foundation. "...I'll need it for my new kingdom. Don't expect to get it back anytime soon."

"No fair - that man made me drop my chili dog!" whined Sonic, having dropped his chili dog on the ground due to the quake. "He's no longer cool in my book!"

"Seriously, Sonic?" Spyro said to the hedgehog, shaking his head, before looking back at the mansion...and seeing that it was slowly heading back down. "Hey, guys, the mansion's going back down!"

"WHAT?!" screamed King Olly as he looked at the mansion, and saw that one of the five streamers had caught on fire. It was burning away at the seams. "Not the streamers! Who could be doing this?!"

The person responsible was Champion Link, who was firing a bunch of his fire arrows on the streamers through an open window. Link, Cloud, Zelda, and Mitsuru stood by, watching the Hylian's progress.

"Once I'm done with this streamer, can I take a break?" Champion Link asked the four candidates, already getting tired and sweaty from constantly firing arrows. "My arms are getting really tired..."

"Keep on firing!" commanded Mitsuru, and Champion Link let out a miserable groan as he kept firing away. Why did he have to be so resourceful?

Outside the mansion, King Olly was seething, watching as the mansion was slowly falling down back to earth thanks to Champion Link's efforts. Soon enough, the streamer that Champion Link was firing at burnt to a crisp.

"Who in there is muddying my evil plan?" wondered King Olly, before looking down at Mario and company - all of whom were looking for a fight. "Another one of your friends I assume, Mario?"

"I got plenty of friends-a in that mansion," replied Mario, getting his game face on as he stepped closer towards King Olly. "Ain't no way I'm-a letting you hurt them!"

"Well then how about I hurt you instead? Folded Soldiers, come out!" A bunch of Folded Soldiers appeared, coming out from their hiding spots as they flanked Mario and company.

"Spyro and I got this, the rest of you stand back," Bowser said to Mario and company, ready to use his trusty flame breath to good use. "Don't want you guys getting any paper cuts."

"Oh, one thing I should mention...the Folded Soldiers are all fireproof. That fire repellent I found lying in the attic sure came in handy!"

"Dang it, this dumb origami king outsmarted me! I hate his guts even more..."

"Olivia...I'm-a gonna need a hammer," Mario said to the origami girl, who immediately turned herself into a hammer. "Bowser, you're on babysitting duty." Mario then handed Jennifer, whom he was carrying around, to Bowser.

"I'm gonna kidnap your kid one day..." Bowser said to Mario, accepting Jennifer from the plumber. With Mario's hands now free, Olivia landed in the plumber's hands as the Folded Soldiers creeped closer.

"Let's get it..." Mario was armed for battle, as Bowser ran for safety. Bowser was protecting Jennifer not for Mario...but for Peach only.

Taking his duty of protecting Toad very seriously, Cortex kept himself enclosed in an elevator, chilling with Toad. He would take the elevator from the first floor, up to the sixth floor; whenever the elevator door opened, Cortex closed it at once

"Cortex, this isn't such a good idea," Toad said to the evil genius, as the elevator was going up to the sixth floor. Moving a lot slower than usual... "You might break this elevator!"

"Nonsense, Toad, this elevator is state-of-the-art!" replied Cortex, as if he knew a thing or two about elevator quality. "Besides, if we keep doing this, that King Olly will never find us!"

"This whole going up-and-down is giving me motion sickness...I think we should just find a hiding spot, and stay put."

"Have it your way...where do you want to hide? I'll let you have a choice."

"We're going to the sixth floor, right? Why don't we hide in the recording studio?"

"Well if that's what you want, then we'll make it happen! Recording studio, here we...come?"

The elevator reached the sixth floor, and once the elevator door opened, Cortex and Toad were startled to see Yu and Polar Bear, standing by. All four were confused.

"Sup dudes," Polar Bear greeted Cortex and Toad, ending the awkward silence as he took a sip from his slushie. Cortex was acting like he was seeing ghosts, standing before him.

"Ah, Yu Narakami and Polar Bear - just the two men I wanted to see!" Cortex said to the young man and bear, shaking off his visible confusion. "I must have you know that I'm doing a swell job protecting Toad here."

"Protecting Toad from what exactly?" questioned Yu, not seeing Cortex as much of a bodyguard. He felt like judging Toad, if asking Cortex to protect him was his only option.

"From King Olly. Toad told me about how this King Olly fellow wants to kill all Toads. Since he's a Toad, I had to...you can fill in the blanks."

"King Olly, huh? Funny you should mention it, that guy tossed a whole bunch of us in the recording studio and locked us inside. Thankfully, someone got us out."

"I beg your pardon..." Cortex looked past Yu and Polar Bear, and saw a few residents walking in the hallway, looking relieved. Cortex ran out of the elevator and looked down the hallway...

...and saw residents leaving the recording studio, having been freed from their prison. There was someone directing the residents out of the studio...Lucina.

"Keep it moving, people!" shouted Lucina, as she beckoned to the residents. Cortex looked distraught, especially as he saw Marth exit the recording studio.

"You have no idea how cramped I felt in there..." Marth said to Lucina, grateful to be released; the hero-king thought he was going to turn into a claustrophobe. "...I can still feel my bones aching! Thank you for saving us, Lucina."

"Yeah, thanks Lucina!" Daisy thanked the princess, as she and a few others exited the recording studio. Cortex was left in shambles, as Lucina had beaten him to the punch.

"Wow, Lucina really saved everyone!" exclaimed Toad as he joined Cortex, who slumped down to his knees as he was greatly disappointed. "What a gal!"

Lucina: Saw some weird paper blocking the entrance to the recording studio, and there were a lot of people trapped inside judging from the many voices I've heard. I couldn't cut the paper down with my sword, so... *pulls out a pair of scissors* ...it worked out just fine.

"FREEDOM!" exclaimed Pit as he ran out of the recording studio, arms in the air, before he spotted Cortex kneeling on the floor. "Cortex!" Pit ran up to hug the evil genius, but somehow missed as he fell and slipped on the floor.

"Dang it Lucina, you ruined my big moment!" Cortex took out his frustrations on the princess, as he bitterly stood up. "I wanted to save Marth, and prove to everyone how heroic I was!"

"You weren't concerned about saving anyone else...?" questioned Lucina, as Cortex began to pout - a very bad look for the candidate. No man of the mansion should ever be pouting.

"What's the point, now nobody will ever see how much of a hero I am..." While Cortex sulked, Toad patted the evil genius on his back leg.

"At least you did your best to keep me safe from harm!" Toad said to Cortex, who didn't want to hear any of his crap. "Why, I haven't seen..."

"Oh, forget you, Toad...I'm outta here." Now an extremely salty man, Cortex stormed away from Toad, before getting inside the elevator and taking the elevator down to the first floor. It was going to be a long ride for Cortex.

"Where do you three think you're going?" Lucina questioned Team Rocket - Jessie, James, and Meowth - who were looking suspicious as they crept out of the recording studio. Meowth was the most suspicious, holding a book close to his chest.

"Uh...just going to return a book to the library, no biggie!" replied Meowth, his response doing nothing but bring more suspicion to Team Rocket. Furrowing her brow, Lucina reached for the book in Meowth's hands, pulling it away from the scratch cat Pokemon.

"Guilty as charged..." Lucina glanced at the front cover of the book...the Paper Mario storybook. The princess then looked up at Team Rocket, who were doing their best to act all innocent. "...care to explain why you have this book?"

"We just wanted to see all the colorful pictures inside!" replied James, as if that excuse would even work on Lucina. "So many vibrant colors..."

"Yes, and we even saw some origami too, it just popped out of the page!" added Jessie, not doing much to help Team Rocket's case for innocence. "We touched one piece of origami and, well..."

"...the origami came to life, and appeared out from the storybook," assumed Lucina, as all three members of Team Rockets held their heads in shame. "You three are always causing trouble..."

"So, uh, what kind of punishment are we gonna get?" Meowth asked Lucina, who wasn't thinking about disciplining Team Rocket right now. Bringing normalcy back to the mansion was her number one priority.

But before Lucina could take action, a loud rumble was heard - the second time today - as almost everyone in the hallway lost their footing. What could've sparked the rumble to occur in the first place?

Outside the mansion, Mario and company had taken care of all the Folded Soldiers that King Olly threw at them. King Olly was left furious, as his forces were now depleted.

"Got any more?" Spyro asked King Olly, as the purple dragon was still looking for a fight. King Olly seethed, for he had no other way to deal with Mario and company.

"You may have defeated my Folded Soldiers, but the mansion is still mine for the taking," stated King Olly, as Mario and company were smiling among themselves. "With it, I'll be able to conquer...why are you all smiling?"

"I think you might-a wanna turn around..." Mario said to King Olly, who turned around as he was told...and saw that the mansion was back on the ground, sitting on its foundation.

"What?! How?!" The answer was quite obvious - the five streamers that were attached to the mansion were all gone. Furious, King Olly saw someone waving to him while standing on the mansion rooftop, as Champion Link caught the origami king's attention.

"Sorry I had to ruin your plan," Champion Link sarcastically apologized to King Olly, now catching all of the origami king's fury. "These fire arrows sure came in handy!"

Champion Link: Heh, that origami dude sure was distracted watching his minions get beat up in the mansion's front yard. Had no idea I even showed up on the roof! Gotta thank Mario and the others, for buying me some time.

What? How did you make it up here?" King Olly seethed at Champion Link, the fury and indignation building up inside of him. "More importantly, how did you make it past my one Shy Guy guard?!" Soon Lucina came out unto the roof, with the storybook.

"That's the bad guy, right?" Lucina asked Champion Link regarding King Olly, to which Champion Link nodded his head. King Olly took sight of Lucina, knowing that the princess would throw a wrench in his plans.

"Just what I needed...more worthless peons to oppose me," the origami king remarked, before noticing the Paper Mario storybook in Lucina's possession. "What is that book?"

"Oh, nothing...just a book that you and your minions happened to come from," replied Lucina, as she revealed the cover of the Paper Mario storybook to King Olly. "Now if you would just come back inside this book here, that would be nice."

"No I will not - not until I have my way! I won't stop until every single Toad on this wretched planet is history. Then, and only then, will my origami kingdom be..."

"Lucina, you left your sword!" Toad alerted the princess, stepping outside as he was wielding Lucina's Falchion blade. Lucina turned around and looked frantically at Toad, as King Olly felt rather amused.

"Finally, a Toad!" The origami king had his attention focused on Toad, who was left shivering in fear as King Olly hovered a bit closer. "I knew today wouldn't go down in vain."

"Y-You're King Olly?" Toad slowly backed away, as he was now fearing for his life. "I, uh...I should get going." Toad turned around and tried to make a run for it back inside, but King Olly would teleport himself to Toad, stopping him in his tracks.

"Not so fast, my dear Toad...I have some unfinished business. Most of which involves you. Now stand still, this won't hurt a bit..."

King Olly transformed, as he turned himself into a giant version of himself. The origami king was large enough to hover over the mansion, as he looked down upon Toad, Champion Link, and Lucina.

"Never thought that I'd be fighting against some giant origami..." remarked Champion Link, with Toad hiding behind the Hylian as he handed the Falchion to Lucina.

"Only at the mansion does this stuff ever happen," stated Lucina, as King Olly had his arms extended, his eye now glowing a bright purple. "If only we had some backup..."

"Did some-a one say...backup?" asked a certain plumber, as Mario arrived at the mansion's roof while riding atop Spyro. Once Mario got on his feet, Spyro collapsed from exhaustion.

"Too...heavy..." panted Spyro, almost on the verge of passing out, as Luigi and Sonic arrived at the mansion's roof - with Luigi using his trademark Super Luigi Jump, and Sonic using a spring. But what about Bowser and Hunter?

"Hey guys, don't forget about us!" Bowser called out to those on the roof, on behalf of himself and Hunter. "Don't start any fighting just yet!"

Spyro: I thought that Mario being fat was just a myth, and people were only exaggerating how Mario looks. But now, I can see the truth...I guess that looks can kill. Almost literally.

"Olivia...it's-a hammer time," Mario said to the origami girl, and right on command, Olivia turned herself into a giant hammer before landing in the hands of Mario.

"I will not allow any of you to stop me," King Olly vowed to Mario and company, his rage towards the group rising steadily. "I will CRUSH you! All of you!"

Zelda: It was brought to our attention that the mansion, for the time being, was floating in the air. Champion Link thankfully got us back on the ground, with those arrows of his. For the most part, everyone was okay, except for one person who was unfortunately stuck in the elevator at the time...

That unfortunate person was Cortex, who was now dealing with a broken leg as he was confined to being in a wheelchair. Brio was pushing Cortex around on his wheelchair, and he pushed the evil genius out of the fitness center.

"That Leia sure is a miracle worker!" remarked Cortex, as he looked at the cast on his right leg. "A good thing is, this injury will give me some preferential treatment."

"I'm very sorry that we left you behind, Dr. Cortex," Brio apologized to the evil genius, as he pushed him down the hallway. "We should've known better."

"No need to be sorry, Brio - I did my best to turn a negative into a positive having to fly solo. Of course, Lucina had to ruin my plan...I suppose protecting Toad was somewhat worthwhile."

"Lucina ruined your plan? I'm sure she'll be getting something coming her way very soon..."

While Copper and Booker went back to guarding the mansion, Bowser and Hunter - wanting to fight King Olly - found themselves climbing up to the roof of the mansion. Granted it was an arduous task (even more so for Bowser, who was carrying Jennifer along the way), but the two men wanted at least one hit on King Olly.

"Don't fear...because the Hunter...is here!" announced Hunter, as he and Bowser finally arrived at the mansion's roof. Both men were exhausted, struggling to stand on their two feet. "Now where is that...King...Olly?"

"Seems-a like you fellas were late," Luigi said to Bowser and Hunter, who looked disappointed as a defeated and mortally wounded King Olly was lying on the roof, back in his normal form.

"Dang it! Knew we should've taken the elevator instead," frowned Bowser as he snapped his fingers; that would've been the more logical option. "How did you losers manage to beat King Olly without us?"

"He gave-a us everything that he had, but Olivia sure came-a in the clutch," replied Mario, looking up at Olivia with a smile. Bowser's jaw dropped, his mouth agape. "That Olivia Hammer is quite-a lethal!"

"You seriously used an origami hammer to stop King Olly? That sounds whack. Why not use some fire instead, to burn Olly alive?"

"Well Bowser, sometimes you have to fight-a fire with fire...and that's exactly what I did." Bowser would've much preferred his method of using actual fire, just so he could watch King Olly go up in flames. Very sadistic.

"I'm so sorry, brother, I had no choice..." Olivia apologized to King Olly, looking down upon her mortally wounded brother. Olly simply couldn't go on. "...and your poor body is all crumpled! Maybe I went too far."

"No, Olivia...that hammer attack was so divine," uttered King Olly, finding the strength to speak in spite of the downed state he was in. "You put everything in it, and it woke me up from my dark dream. I was too proud and entitled, and my path was creased...I was a mess."

"What's this? On your belly?" Olivia observed a mark that was on King Olly's belly, and Olly took a good look at it.

"That there is the cause of all this madness - the careless scrawl marked by the despicable Toad that crafted me."

"You wanted to kill all Toads all because one Toad wrote some lousy scribble on you?" questioned Hunter, interrupting what was a very heartfelt moment between Olivia and King Olly. Mario shushed him what. "What, that just sounds silly..."

"Read it for me, will you? I must know what gibberish was written on this foolish body...I sure could use one last laugh." So Olivia peered at the gibberish, making out the words that weren't actually gibberish.

"'Dearest Olly, may you grow into a fair and kind king,'" Olivia read the message out loud to King Olly - a message completely devoid of hatred and malice. "Olly, it's not a scribble - it's a very sweet message from the Origami Craftsman. He wished you the best as a new king."

"Ha, HA...AHAHAHA!" That wasn't an evil laugh from King Olly - it was an almost genuine, remorseful one. "I've been a terrible king. To think, this is how I repaid his kindness. All this time, I was blinded by rage...I should have known better."

"Say, Lucina, is there anything we can do?" Toad asked the princess, who searched for a solution as she flipped through the pages of the Paper Mario storybook. She kept on flipping, until she came across a page that mentioned the Origami Craftsman.

"There is one thing we can do..." replied Lucina, as she saw a picture of the Origami Craftsman on the page. "...but it won't be anything major. Everyone, to the attic!"

Everyone gathered in the attic, where Lucina had summoned the Origami Craftsman from the Paper Mario storybook. The Origami Craftsman, who was responsible for folding Olivia and King Olly, was given the 4-1-1 by Mario.

"King Olly really did all those things?" the Origami Craftsman asked, after Mario told him the whole story of all that had happened today. "I'm sorry for any trouble he caused. Dealing with an evil king sure must be scary..."

"You think an evil king is scary?" Bowser said to the Origami Craftsman, still salty that he couldn't burn King Olly to ashes. "Try being a single father, with eight crazy kids!"

"Wow...that really puts it in perspective. Maybe an evil king isn't so bad to put up with after all."

"What are we going to do with Olly?" Olivia asked the Origami Craftsman, who looked down and saw King Olly lying on the floor. Olly looked like he was on the brink of death.

"I suppose the only thing we can do is return to that storybook. Especially if it means preserving Olly's life. We could give him a change of heart."

"Sounds like a plan," said Mario, before looking at Olivia who was busy nursing King Olly, the best she could.. "Thank-a you for coming along, Olivia."

"No, thank you, Mario," responded Olivia, as she returned the favor to the plumber. "My brother would've taken over this world, had it not been for you and your friends."

"And me!" exclaimed Bowser, leading to a brief moment of awkward silence. "I'm one of your friends...right Mario?"

Bowser: Still salty that Mario got to kick King Olly's butt before I could have the chance...but, it could've been worse. I could've been turned into origami myself, or even paper, and folded into a helpless square! Now wouldn't that be something?

Once they were ready, Olivia, King Olly, and the Origami Craftsman returned to the Paper Mario storybook, where they belonged. After the act was done, Lucina closed the storybook, and placed it back where it was in the attic.

"Well that takes care of that," remarked Lucina, who was proud of the others for a job well done. "Now if you excuse me, I must have a word with Team Rocket..."

"I reckon there's a lot of paper that needs to be cleaned up around the mansion," Champion Link said to Mario and company, as Lucina left the attic. "I'll get Link and Cloud to help me with the clean-up duty."

"You know, I'm sorta glad-a that Master Hand wasn't around to witness what was going on," remarked Luigi, as Champion Link followed after Lucina out of the attic. "But I can't help-a but feel like we're forgetting something...

"Mama mia...Princess Peach!" panicked Mario, pulling on the very hairs on his head. "We forgot to change-a her back!"

The Mario Bros, Spyro, and Hunter frantically ran back to Mario's house, with Mario worried about his wife. Mario opened the front door, as he and the boys looked around.

"It's quiet...a little too quiet," whispered Bowser, who had returned Jennifer to the nursery, he and the others were welcomed by an ominous atmosphere. Mario made his way through the living room, before hearing some female voices from upstairs.

"Shh...follow my lead," the plumber whispered to his comrades, who followed Mario through the kitchen and up the stairs. Hearing the voices from his bedroom, Mario opened the door to his bedroom, in almost dramatic fashion...

...and saw Peach and Daisy, smiling and giggling. A third person was with them, and it was the origami Peach that Mario and Luigi had encountered earlier.

"P-Princess Peach?" Mario uttered his wife's name, acting as if he was seeing a ghost, as Peach and the ladies paused their conversation. "You weren't kidnapped?"

"Kidnapped? Me?" asked Peach, before giggling to herself. Mario had a dumbfounded look on his face, as the other men all felt the same way. "Don't be so silly!"

"Peach, we all thought you were in danger!" frowned Bowser, who wanted to save Peach himself just to show how awesome he was to Mario. "Heard that some origami king wanted to use you for..."

"I'm sorry if I had you boys alarmed. I was actually getting my nails done at the beauty salon the whole time you and Luigi were away, Mario. Please forgive me!"

"Yeah, that's where I saw Peach when I left the bunker," explained Daisy, who felt bad that she might've had Spyro and Hunter worried. "I was hanging out with her ever since. As we made our way back here, we saw pieces of paper littered all over the mansion!"

"Wait, so did you guys never see any origami dudes?" Spyro asked Peach and Daisy, who judging by their facial expressions saw nothing of the sort.

"I mean, we were in the beauty salon the whole time...we heard some stories about origami people in the mansion, but we thought it was all silly talk. This origami Peach is the only origami person we've seen all day! Turns out she's not as bad as I thought she would be, once you get to know here a little."

"If Peach is here, then that must mean...that origami Peach came from the storybook!" Spyro turned his attention to the origami Peach, who was sitting prim and proper on the bed.

"Indeed, that is true...but answer me this," the origami Peach said to Spyro and the other men. "Do you think that all Toads should be silenced?"

"Hunter...go get the storybook from-a the attic," commanded Mario, as Hunter promptly ran out of the master bedroom.

Peach: Nope, I haven't seen any other origami person, aside from the origami Peach. Were these origami people nice? I hope they were friendly...unlike my origami self.
