Guest: Thank you for the review. I'm glad you are enjoying the stories in this story. I'm glad you think I'm doing a good job of portraying it with Cal, I do find him a bit of a difficult character to write sometimes.

CBloom2: Thank you for the review. I hope they don't get Alicia pregnant either, but I just think that they might. I've thought that as well, I think it'll put a bit of a strain on their relationship, when he eventually tells her and she may break up with him as she's hurt that he never told her.

Tigsey: Thank you for the review. Harass me all you like, this story runs on your ideas, I can indeed do a chapter where Lily is jealous of Alicia and Ethan flirting.

Sorry for the delay in updating this story, I had a bit of a lack of confidence in my writing.

The Secret Life Of Casualty.

Chapter 258.

The two brothers walked in to the ED, ready to start their shift.

Zoe approached the two doctors. "There's a patient that needs taken up to ITU. "

"Sure, " Ethan nodded as Zoe handed him the patient file as Max started to wheel the trolley with the patient on, towards them.

Cal pressed the button for the lift and minutes later, the metal doors opened and the brothers pushed the trolley in as the doors closed.

The lift started moving slowly at first, but then it began to speed up, the lights in the lift began to flicker, before they went out completely.

Cal leaned against the wall, he started to hyperventilating.

"Cal, look at me, " Ethan instructed his brother, he noticed that he had little beads of sweat on his face.

Cal couldn't focus on his brother. "C-can't b- breath, " He stuttered.

Ethan nodded, moving closer to him, as he rubbed his back. "Yes, you can, "

Cal was shaking his head wildly as fear filled his eyes.

"Take deep breathes, " Ethan comforted as he rubbed his arm, he wished he had his pager on him, so he could contact Zoe or Charlie, or even his phone, but his phone was in his locker.

Cal did as his brother asked and gradually he managed to calm his breathing down.

Charlie was the first face they saw when the doors were prised open by fire fighters, who had the equipment to open them. "How are you, Cal?"

"He's fine, Charlie, " Ethan answered for him as he helped him out of the lift, Zoe taking the patient.

Cal had been sent to a cubicle to rest by Charlie.

Ethan walked in to his brothers cubicle. "How are you feeling?"

Cal removed the oxygen mask that Zoe had secured to his face. "Better now, Nibbles, " He replied as he leant against the pillows.

"Don't call me that, " Ethan laughed, usually he would be slightly angry that Cal had called him the nickname that he had invented for him when they were children but today he didn't mind as he had helped his brother through a horrible time.

Cal closed his eyes as Ethan nipped out for a few moments to get a glass of water for Cal from the staff room. He come back in and placed it on the table bedside the bed. Cal reached for the glass and took snail sips.

Charlie discharged Cal and told Ethan to take the rest of his shift off to look after him.

Putting an arm around Cal, Ethan escorted him to the car and unlocked it, helping Cal up the stairs to their flat and he pulled the keys out, pushing them in to the lock, the door swung open and the younger one led the older one inside, escorting him in to his room and got him some food. He took it in to his room and placed it on the bed and put the TV on as they planned to chill out.

I know it was quite short, but thank you for reading.

Next chapter: Ethan's symptoms are worsening, but he refuses help from his brother, convinced he can deal with them on his own, but he turns to Cal when he realises that he can't. Prompted by HolbyCityfanfics, I'm hoping I can have it up by Wednesday.
