I'm sorry this has taken me so long again. I have started writing up a few of the one shots, some of them are short, some of them are long. I promise I will start posting them, as soon as this little story is finished.

The Secret Life Of Casualty.

Chapter 305.

Connie made some unexplainable sounds of pain as she lay at the bottom of the stairs, her head pounded and her left elbow was hurting. It was red, hurt to move, all signs that she had dislocated it. She needed to call an ambulabulance and then someone she trusted, but who? Sam and Grace were in America and Charlie was on honeymoon with Duffy and Connie and didn't like to disturb them, but she was in pain, she had no choice but to contact them, or one of her team, she thought about who she could call and then rang the number.

The receiver of the call, picked up the phone. "Cal, I told you, I'll be there soon"

"It's not Cal, " The voice said and Ethan realised his mistake.

"Oh, I'm sorry Mrs Beauchamp, " Ethan said, embarrassed, there was a pink blush to his cheeks.

"I need your help Ethan" Connie told him.

"Sure" Replied Ethan, wondering why she was turning to him for help. But he was going to help her. Writing down what address Connie was telling him, he folded the paper and grabbed his jacket, and keys, leaving the flat. Making his way down the stairs, Ethan realised that Cal would have to wait. Reaching the door, he rushed out and locked it, getting in, putting his belt on and starting the engine, pulling away and speeding off down the road. Connie lived further way from the hospital, so Ethan knew it would take a while to get there. As the lights changed, Ethan continued his journey to Connie's house.

Seeing the Victorian house, she lived in, with the wall surrounding it, iron black gates, Ethan wondered how she could afford a house like this, but reasoned she had worked hard in her career to get where she was today. It just showed that hard work paid off. He turned off the engine, got out and opened the gate, walking up the steps.

"Miss Beachaump" Ethan called as he arrived at the address she had given him. "It's Ethan"

Due to the amount of pain she was in, Conne knew she wouldn't reach the door. Ethan knew what he had to do. He threw his weight against the door, waiting for it to budge, but no such luck and it only served pain to his shoulder. He tried again and again, until it eventually budged and he was able to get inside.

Ethan called an ambulance, despite Connie telling him she didn't want to be treated by her colleagues, she said St. James, could treat her, but Ethan said it was too far away. Connie sighed and said Ethan could ring Iain and Jez. Ethan nodded, walking in to the kitchen to make the call.

"Miss Beachaump, it's Jez and Iain," Said Iain as Ethan walked to the door and Iain looked surprised to see Ethan in their boss's house. "What are you doing here?"

"Connie called me" Ethan said, while Iain and Jez went further in to the house.

Ethan supported Connie's head while Iain secured a collar around Connie's head, Jez and Iain, put the board underneath her, securing her tightly with the straps, putting her elbow in a frac pac.

They brought the stretcher outside, and loaded Connie in to the ambulance, with Ethan making sure she was comfortable while Jez and Iain got in to the front. Ethan locked up her front door, before getting back in to the back as Iain started the engine. Traffic was fast, meaning they could get Connie to hospital. Soon, Iain pulled in to the car park, turned off the engine, and opened the back doors, lowering the stretcher down and shutting the ambulance doors.

"This is Connie Beauchamp, 46, found at the bottom of the stairs. BP 60 over 90. " Iain said, bursting through the ED doors.

The stretcher was wheeled in to RESUS and Connie grimmanced to see her staff looking at her in concern, she felt ashamed, even though it wasn't her fault, people fell down the stairs all the time, sometimes in an accident, sometimes as a result of a drunken fall.

"Connie, what happened?" Asked Zoe, seeing her "frienemy" lying on a RESUS bed, Ethan talking on the phone, ordering an x- ray. The X - ray revealed that Connie's arm was indeed broke. Ethan set up the entnox tube and passed it to Connie, who took a deep breath as Ethan removed the frac pac, and pulled her arm back in place, getting a splint from a draw in the corridor and walking back in to RESUS where he secured her wrist in to the split, strapping it up.

"Keep it dry, " Said Ethan.

Connie rolled her eyes. "Yes, Ethan"

"How did this happen? "Asked Zoe.

I was pushed" Connie confided to Zoe.

"By who?" Zoe asked, curiously.

"Nurse Harrison" Connie told Zoe.

"We should call the police, " Said Zoe.

"Yes" Ethan agreed.

Zoe walked out of RESUS and headed to reception. "Noel, call the police"

Noel picked up the phone and handed it to Zoe, who took the phone and started talking while popping gum in her mouth.

"Mate, you don't know what she was like, " Said Ross, sat in the Hope and Anchor, with his younger brother, sipping a pint while Finn had an orange juice.

"So tell me" Finn replied.

Ross sighed. "Her and dad were arguing all the time. She often went missing for days on end and dad didn't know where she was. "

"Why did she leave us?" Finn asked.

"Pete told me once she tried to drown me in the bath"

Finn gasped at this piece of news "Where do you think she is?"

Ross shrugged. "I dunno mate, but we need to find her" Ross said, Emma hadn't been right, since their dad died in a car crash.

"Where do we start?" Asked Finn.

Ross shrugged, he really didn't know, it wasn't like his mum had many friends, she preferred keeping herself to herself.

"I guess we could make missing person posters, " Said Finn.

Ross nodded, draining the end of his pint, while both brothers, headed back to their flat they were renting on Farmead. When they got in, Finn rang his brother, Pete, to see if he had heard from their mum.

"No mate, I haven't" Pete's reply was short and Finn sighed.

"Thanks Pete" He said as he hung up and opened up his laptop, clicking on to word as he started to create a poster for his missing mum.

"That's it" Ethan said as he watched Cal lean on him, Cal had just been discharged from hospital and Ethan had instructions from Zoe to look after him. He'd borrowed a wheelchair to wheel Cal to their car and unlocking the door, had helped him in. Now, they were just about to attempt the stairs which led to their flat. When they reached the floor, their flat was on, Ethan felt in his pocket, for his key, it was attached to a key chain that Cal had got him for his birthday one year. It was a picture of them, with their arms around each other (the picture had been taken, before Ethan found out he had the gene)

Ethan went in to his brothers bedroom and he picked up his blanket before draping it over him, while he went in to the kitchen to make them both a drink. Switching on the kettle, he reached in to the cupboard to grab two mugs and poured milk and sugar in to both, before walking in to the living room.

Ethan turned to face his brother, placing both mugs down on the coffee table, Cal paused his film he was watching and looked at his brother.

"What?" Cal asked, seeing his brother.

"Nothing, I love you, Cal"

"I love you too, nibbles" Cal told his brother, surprised by Ethan saying it, but liking it at the same time.

Emma couldn't believe what she'd done, no wonder her kids didn't like her, they'd hate her even more if they'd found out what she did, it had been a moment of madness, a moment of madness which she had came to regret, but it was too late to change it and it was all her fault.

Thanks for reading, just a short chapter. Well, this got longer than I expected it to be.
