Burftholomew "Burf" Banks smiled at the so called main people as they made their way back to wherever as the school day ended. "Hay, Rob, wanna hang out sometimes?" The boy called out to the one member most like him. The one he admired the most because, as an accepted nerd, Robbie had achieved something even Sinjin hadn't, being accepted by the cool kid. 'Sinjin is their friends, cause this isn't like most schools, where the weird is totally unexeptable. However, while he is their friend, he doesn't get to hang out with them, not that often.' The boy once again told himself, admiring the lofty position someone as strange as Robbie Shapiro had achieved. 'Of course, Rob has the talent, and in this school, talent can make up for so much.' But still, as another boy who knew what it felt like locked inside a locker, he had an admiration for the lofty position his brother in nerdiness had achieved.

"Yo, Burf, wanna hang out later?" Sinjin called to him.

"Aren't you and Beck friends?" The dark skinned boy asked back. "Shouldn't you two be hanging out?"

"Actually, not sure why, but even with our new found closeness, I still spend more time being friend with Tori then Beck." The taller nerd replied. "And she doesn't wanna hang out most days."

"Emphasis on the word friends." Burf said, smiling, because while it wasn't ideal, it was better then so many of them ever got. "So, if they're not inviting you, then sure, why not hang at mine? My ride will be meeting me in a bit, at the coffee shop." he gave a quick gesture. "So, come with? You know we always have room for your bike in the trunk."

"Let me call home, let them know." Sinjin told the boy as they walked the short block plus to the coffee shop they'd be waiting at. It was chosen for a myriad of reasons, including the fact that Burf didn't like to admit some things, like the ride that would be picking him up.

"So, how's Gabriella?" Burf broached.

"Oh, you know…" Sinjin said. "She has a thing for nerds, which is a negative, but she was so cute…"

"Dude, we're nerds." Burf reminder his friend. "Not a lot of girls are gonna be into us."

"I thought you were crushing on Robbie." Sinjin noted.

"Yea, but that thing with Cat showed me she wasn't willing to let go." Burf said, shivering a second. "That girl may seem sweet, but she can be majorly cray cray, and that equals scary." He sighed. "Plus, guys they can be even more shallow then the girls. Better for me, being bi, to just focus on the girls, cause I have a shot at them."

"Shouldn't have let Gabbie go." Sinjin lamented. "Man, I could have learned Spanish, maybe tried speaking to her…"

"Yea, would have helped." Burf nodded, looking into the parking structure where his ride would be waiting. The private parking structure where they'd rented a space, just so Burf could have some small discretion about how he was perceived. "Guys like us, we need all the edge we can get."

Burf shifted to greet his ride. "Herbert, can you take care of my friends bike?"

"Of course, mister Banks." The solid looking, beefy white man replied, even as he moved quickly to open the door of the town-car, something seen as more discreet then the limo. "How was your day?"

"Fine, and yours?" Burf asked, being at least somewhat polite.

"It was as expected." The driver acknowledged, quickly stashing Sinjin's bike in the trunk. "Does the master need to stop on the way?" A shake of the head told him no. "Does mister Van Cleef need to call his father?"

"Dad's fine with whatever." Sinjin said. "Any chance he'll be visiting your place?"

"My dad isn't currently representing him." Burf told his friend. "So, maybe? I mean, they are friends."

"Lets hope." Sinjin said, relaxing as he settled into the back seat.

"Does the master wish to practice driving?" Herb asked.

"No, I'm good." Burf told the man. "God, we need to figure out how to get girls to notice us. I mean, this is it, high school. Afterwords, we'll have to find some other way to attract women, and out of school, it gets so much harder." he let out a sigh. "So, Sinj, any ideas on how we can get us some dates?"

"Maybe Herb here has a suggestion?" Sinjin said.

"Women will come." The driver assured them. "Just, after, once they get to know more about you."

"Yea, I guess." Burf sighed. "So, what are we doing tonight?"

"I'm thinking we bunker down, maybe sit by the pool, and brainstorm on how we can be more popular." Sinjin replied.

"Sounds like a plan." Burf sighed. "Wanna maybe get something to eat?"

"No, I'm good." The boy replied.

"Herbert?" Burf asked the front seat.

"I've already called ahead, and arranged for some snacks for you and your friend." The driver told him. "And yes, I'll get something at home as well. You're mother wouldn't be too happy if we didn't give Marra a chance to earn her keep, right?"

"You two going strong?" Burf asked.

"Been married for over three years." The driver assured his young master.

"Maybe she'll have some advice for us." Sinjin thought out loud.

"Or, maybe, you'll realize that you live in Bel Air, in mansions, with money for whatever hobbies you wish to peruse." Herb said, having had enough. "Boys, you're rich. Not the answer to finding love, but it helps. In a couple of years, once your out of high school, you'll have no shortage of would be paramours. So relax, and maybe spend the time figuring out which collage you'll be attending, or maybe if you'll be attending cotillion this year, because many of the young ladies there would love to meet anyone with your families income levels."

Silence covered the back of the car, shock at the words they'd just heard. Herb quickly apologized. "Sorry, but I get so frustrated when I hear about the troubles you two have been having. Guys, you're just in a bad spot for meeting people who'll take into account your breeding. Just a few years, and you'll have to figure out how to find the real people, because the fake one's will ignore the pretty boys in favor of you two, and that's when being able to find someone, the kinds of rejections you'd been through, the friends you've made, will help." He stopped so he could safely look at the boys. "I'm pulling for you both, I really am, but honestly, I'm more worried about the future, when that money draws women, then now, when you're having a little trouble finding someone who can't see past your outward habits to see the strong, competent young men you've become. Now, we're near home, but I suggest we swing over and stop at the golf club. I'm thinking there will be several young ladies of your economic strata there, and the club will do the job of screening out a lot of the competition. So, lets head over, and I'll help you approach a couple of ladies, maybe get a phone number or two." He smiled at Burf. "Or a young mans. Either way, if this is your concern, then lets be proactive. I'll call your parents, let them know we've diverted."

"No, I'd rather just sit by the pool today." Sinjin said, and Herb felt frustrated again. Burf almost always followed his friends lead, which would leave him vulnerable in just a few short years. Now was the time to develop some dating skills. But as the driver, he did his job, and drove them home.

Ever consider that maybe there's a reason Sinjin is still single, and it's not cause he's weird? Boys dad owns a factory, so he has some money, right? I just extrapolated.

Thoughts?
