The Secret Life Of Casualty.

Chapter 405.

Ethan walked towards the grave of his brother and carefully bent down in front of it.

"Hey, Cal" He whispered. "Hope your having a happy Christmas, up there with our mums"

Ethan looked to his side where he'd brought a pack of beer, he wasn't usually a drinker, but he knew Cal liked one. He picked one up and pulled the ring, before placing it down on the stone. "This is for you, Cal"

A few graves down, a petite brunette was silently crying, consumed by guilt that her little boy was lying in the grave, she knew that he would have loved Christmas and she had been looking forward to buying him his first present, but now Christmas had a black cloud over it for her, her baby boy had died on New Years Eve.

Ethan could hear someone crying and like the gentleman he was, he wiped his own tears, put his glasses back on and headed over to the grave.

"Are you ok?" He asked, as he approached her.

The woman sniffed and Ethan felt in his pocket for a tissue. Finding one, he handed it to her. "It's clean" He said as he saw she was unsure whether to accept it.

"Thanks" She said as she took it and blew her nose.

Ethan wanted to ask why she was crying, but he knew he had to ask politely but before he had the chance, she spoke quietly.

"He's my son. Harry. He died. " She whispered, her petite body shuddering.

"I'm sorry" He said.

"I miss him" She whispered.

Ethan reached out and lay a hand on her back. "I know how that feels"

Jessica looked at him. "You do?" She asked.

Yeah. My brother, Caleb was killed. "

"I'm sorry" Jessica said.

"He was stabbed"

Jessica nodded and reached out, to hold his hand, she was shocked she did that, she had never comforted a stranger, but she had to admit, the hand squeeze gave her comfort as well.

Ethan took his hand away. "Sorry" He said.

"It's ok, " Jessica whispered.

"Do you fancy a coffee?" Ethan asked.

"Sure" She replied, as they both began to walk out of the cemetery to the nearest coffee shop.
