I know that Ethan's birthday is different to George's but just pretend for this chapter that Ethan and George were born the same day and year.

The Secret Life Of Casualty.

Chapter 471.

"Happy birthday to me" Ethan whispered as he realised today was his 33rd birthday. Usually, Cal would wake him really early and give him an often badly wrapped present. Ethan turned his attention to the present Charlie had given him last year, a mug with a picture of himself and Cal on it.

Charlie was at home, his thoughts on the young doctor. "Why don't we throw him a party?"

Duffy give him a look, she doubted Ethan wouldn't want to celebrate without Cal. "Are you sure that's a good idea?"

"Nothing big, just to show him that we care, he shouldn't be alone today. " Charlie replied.

He went to the Hope And Anchor to see if he could book it. (the owner of the pub knew the ED quite well, as they came to drink after work, he let them have it free of charge)

"Happy birthday Ethan"

"Thanks guys, " He replied, looking around: a banner hung on the wall, a table for beer pong was set up ( Cal would have loved that table) another table had presents on.

"Let's play" Said Jacob, referring to the beer pong table. As it was Ethan's day, he got the chance to go first. He flicked the golf ball in to one of the cups, but he missed and had to drink.

"Cal would have loved today" Said Charlie, putting an arm around Ethan.

"He would" Ethan agreed, just as he heard the familar tune of "Happy birthday".

"Happy birthday, mate" said Said Jacob and as all of his colleagues finished singing, Ethan blushed and blew out his candles. Ethan left the pub, a little after midnight, his arms full of bags with presents from friends. He stopped off at the cemetery, towards Cal's grave, as well as Emile's and Matilda's.

He crouched down. "Hey, Cal. It's my birthday today"

Ethan knew that he wouldn't respond. He looked in to one of the bags and pulled out a can of larger. He opened it and placed it on Cal's grave. "For you, Cal. "
