The Secret Life Of Casualty.

Chapter 541

He'd been alone and Adam Trueman never opened his heart to anyone. His parents, his brother, were all gone. He was truly alone. Until he met her.

She'd been trapped in an emotionally abusive marriage. If it hadn't been for her two children, she'd have been a long gone. Her children were the only thing that kept her going in a marriage where her husband wanted to know where she all of the time. She'd found him overbearing.

An argument about his womanising ways, saw her don a dress and escape in to town, leaving her wedding ring at home, wanting to give off the impression she was a single girl.

Adam had been with his mates, but his eyes had caught her as soon as she walked in, a smile that lit up the room. Excusing himself from his mates, Adam walked over.

"Hey, " He winked at her.

"Hi," She replied shyly.

"Can I buy you a drink?" He asked, pointing to her empty glass.

"Sure"

"What can I get you?" He questioned.

"A white wine"

"Coming up. "

The bar man served up their drinks and they found a quiet table.

"My name's Adam" He said, hoping to break the ice.

"Jessica" she replied quietly.

One drink become another, followed by another.

"Can I walk you home?" He asked after the barman had called last orders.

"It's OK" She replied quietly, shivering as they walked in to the cold air.

"Here" Adam pulled off his jacket and draped it around her shoulders.

"Thanks" Jess hugged the jacket closer to her. They'd arrived at his flat and opening the door, she walked in and soon he was showing her through to his room, after a hot chocolate, their bodies were giving each other warmth as Jess forgot about her husband back at home.

Adam and Jess as I miss this couple.
