Chapter 568
Tess was by Fletch's side as he started chemotherapy, just a week after he'd told Tess he had cancer. He was sat in a chair, hooked up to a drip, on the oncolgy ward, a few floors up from where he now worked as Directer of Nursing, he knew Essie De Lucca was also fighting breast cancer, which she had previously been in remisson for, he hoped the two would be able to support each other.
"What do I tell the kids?" He worried, Theo and Ella were too young to understand but Evie and Mikey were old enough to understand.
Tess rubbed his hand, being careful of the IV. "We'll tell them together. "
"Thanks Tess" Fletch replied, if things had worked out differently for the pair, the Fletcher kids would have a half sibling, but Tess knew she had done the right thing for her, she already had two grown kids.
After all the chatting, Nurse Jessica Harrison, come over and took Fletch's IV out, shd was friends with Tess and Zoe but she didn't know Fletch, she was unaware they'd had an affair.
Feeling wobbly as he got out if the chair as he knew chemo could take it out of you, Fletch was grateful for Tess's arm around his waist as they left the oncology ward, heading to the lifts, but Fletch was suddenly overcome with feeling sick which was a common side affect of the drugs. Tess put her arm back around him as she pressed the button to the lift.
Shouting Jessica, Tess rubbed Fletch's back as he vomited in to the plastic bowl. He groaned, not liking the side affects.
The lift arrived and the couple stepped in, thankful that the ED floor was quiet when the opened.
Heading in to the car park, Tess unlocked Fletch's car, knowing he was in no fit state to drive.
Pulling in to his drive, she helped him out and unlocked the door, ushering him in to the living room, where she got him a blanket, and a bottle of water, as well as a bucket.
Tess had been staying over in Fletch's house, considering she had sold hers when she'd left the ED to help her son, Sam, raise his baby son, little Charlie, who was now 4.
Suddenly, the door opened and all the Fletcher kids appeared in the living room.
Fletch looked at his children and started."Kids, daddy has something to tell you"
Tess looked at him, supportively.
