Guest: Thanks for the review. Ricky will be the photographer.

The Secret Life Of Casualty.

Chapter 646.

Ricky looked at the email again, re-reading the alert in front of her.

"Photographer needed to photograph a wedding in three days"

Her eyes widened. Three days, that wasn't enough time to sort stuff. Childcare for Case, a charged camera and battery, her jounery down to Holby, she was either going to have to get a plane or Brax to drive her. A drive and a one year old that would be stressful.

"You alright, Rick?" Ricky was suddenly greeted with a kiss to her cheek, by her husband of a year, Darryl Braxton. Judging by the board under his arm, he'd been for a surf.

"Hum" Ricky sighed, resting her chin in her hands.

"What's wrong?" Brax asked.

"I've been asked to photograph a wedding. "

"You love photography" Brax said, confused by her attitude. "Your always taking pictures of Case and I," He said, grabbing her camera from her bag and switching it on to show the recent picture she'd taken. Brax with Case on his shoulders.

"I know, but I don't know if I'll be organised in three days"

"Were's the wedding?" Brax asked.

Ricky scrolled down the email. "Holby to a Mr Iain Dean and Ruby Sparks. "

"It's your choice" Brax said, pressing another kiss to her cheek. "You know I'll support your decision."

"I know. " Ricky smiles, standing up, hearing Casey cry. "Coming mate. " Ricky stood up, heading in to the living room were Case was in his play-pen. She picked her one year old up, balancing him on her hip, giving him a toy.

"Let me know what you decide. I'm going to work. Love you. "

"Love you too," Ricky replied. "See you later. "

That night, after putting Case in his cot, Ricky opened a bottle of wine, waiting for Brax to come home. A little before 9:30, he did.

"Brax?"

"Yeah?" He asked.

"I've made my decision. "

"And?"

"I'm going to photograph the wedding. "

"Alright. " Brax replied. "I'll drive you. We can stop off on the way. "

Ricky nodded, heading to the bedroom to start her packing so she could be ready first thing in the morning.

Having booked in a motel, after Brax had dropped her off, Ricky stared at herself in the mirror. Wearing a white blouse with a pair of jeans, she wondered if she'd look professinal enough.

"You've got this Ricky" She told herself, grabbing her portilfo and handbag before leaving the motel and locking the door, heading to a local cafe were she'd agreed to meet the bride and groom. She got herself a flat white she waited for them.

"Hi, Ruby. I'm Erica. " Ricky stood up and shook the hand of a smaller blonde.

Ruby's voice was quiet and she chewed her lip as she replied. "Ruby and this is my husband to be, Iain. "

"Nice to meet you, Erica" Iain said, shaking her hand firmly.

"Oh, please, call me, Ricky. "

Ricky's eyes widened as she took in the big group of people, Iain's and Ruby's friends, normally she only spoke to the bride and groom.

Ruby sat in between two women, one with auban hair and the other with brunette, there was a smaller girl, sitting next to the woman with brunette hair. "This is Jessica, her daughter Amelia and this is Robyn, they'll be my bridesmaids and flower girl."

"Are you insured in case anything goes wrong?" Iain asked. He didn't want anything to go wrong.

"I work free - lance" Ricky replied. "I get booked for shoots. "

"How much do you charge?" Iain asked.

"$1, 00 - $3,00. " Ricky said.

Iain nodded. "Alright. "

"Is there any particular pictures you want?" Ricky asked.

"Our first kiss and the rings on our fingers. " Iain replied, linking his hand with his bride- to- be's. "Have you got any pictures we can see?"

"I photographed my friend Bianca's wedding. " Ricky said, handing him a photo album.

Iain and Ruby looked through the album, smiles on their faces.

"They're good pictures" Iain said.

"Thanks" Ricky smiled, putting the album back in her bag.

Iain stood up, shaking Ricky's hand. "We'll be in touch, Erica "

"Look forward to hearing from you. " Ricky smiled, hoping she'd get the job.

As Ricky stepped outside, her phone pinged. Opening her bag, she seen Brax flash upon her screen.

"How did it go?"

"Fine. I think" Ricky replied, as she walked back to her motel.

Iain and Ruby were at their flat, discussing Ricky.

"What do you think?" Iain asked.

"I like her. " Ruby replied, quietly.

"I think she'd be good for the job," Iain agreed, putting his hand on Ruby's belly. Ruby messaged Ricky asking her to meet them.

The older blonde felt nervous as she headed to the Dean house, wondering what they were going to tell her.

Iain answered the door. "Hi Erica. Come in,"

"Thanks" Ricky stepped in as Iain showed her in to the living room were Ruby was.

She sat down, nerves getting the better of her now.

"Ruby and I have been thinking. " Iain started.

"OK" Ricky replied.

"We'd like you to be our photographer for our wedding day. " Iain told her.

"Thank you. " Ricky smiled, pleased. She couldn't wait to tell Brax her good news.

"They've offered me the job, Brax. "

A few minutes later her phone pinged again.

"Congrats Rick. Case and I are proud of you"

Ricky headed back to her motel, switching on the kettle, grabbing a mug and adding a tea bag and milk as the kettle boiled. Sitting in the armchair, she got her dress out which she was wearing for the wedding, which was a day away, hoping that Iain and Ruby would be pleased with her results.

I'll be posting the wedding, which is the last chapter to this short story, either today or tomorrow.
