"You look so beautiful, Erin." She met Jessica's eye in the mirror, giving her a small nod before adjusting the way the dress fell on her body. "Turquoise is the perfect color for you."

Turning, Erin looked at her friend and felt her brow furrow together a little as she rubbed the watered silk between her fingers, needing to soothe herself with the touch of the fabric. "You don't think that it's odd I didn't choose to wear white today?"

Jessica quickly shook her head. "You've both already been married before, and there's no need to stand on ceremony when you're just making something official that we all assumed had been done years ago. And yes, I made certain not to tell anyone that this is where we are today."

Erin closed her eyes briefly before opening them once more and focusing on Jessica's face. "I just wanted this to be about us, about our little family, and we can have the big party later on. Because…"

"Because you're a romantic at heart and love your family above all else. The fact that you've included us makes it all the sweeter." Jessica gave her a warm hug, and Erin allowed herself to relax into her friend as they both took deep breaths and then stepped back. "Now, let's go get you married to that man of yours."

She nodded as she picked up her bouquet from bench and followed Jessica out of the restroom. Her knees knocked a little as they came closer and closer to the room where they would be married, and she tried to take calming breaths as she watched Jessica open the door, revealing everyone in their beautiful outfits. "I'm not going to cry today," she murmured, and Jessica shrugged a little as she took hold of her free hand and led her up to where David and Aaron were standing.

"You look so beautiful, Erin." She laughed a little at Aaron's words, and he frowned at her in confusion. "What?"

"Jessica just said the exact same thing to me, Aaron. But I am so glad to know that you find me pretty." He blushed a little as the judge came into the room, and then Erin turned her complete focus onto the ceremony. It was over so quickly, which she didn't mind, because as Jessica had said, it was a mere formality, and then she was kissing David, feeling like this completed something in her that she didn't know needed to be finished.

"All right, say goodbye to Momma and Papa Dave, kiddos."

She looked at Jessica in confusion, wondering where they were going, and why they were being left alone. "Jess?"

"Aaron and I arranged a weekend for you to have a little of a honeymoon. The cabin is ready for you, and I will see you Monday afternoon, all right? This is our gift to the two of you."

She nodded through her tears, allowing Jessica to embrace her tightly before passing her off to Aaron and then her children. Once they were gone, Erin looked up at her husband and gave him a tremulous smile. "I promised myself that I wasn't going to cry today, but it seems like everything is conspiring against me to make that happen."

"It's all right to cry, Erin. Because I feel like doing so myself," he murmured as he brought his forehead to rest against hers as they took a few tandem breaths. "Now, I think that we need to leave so that the next happy couple can get hitched. Our cabin is waiting for us."

She nodded as she clasped his hand, letting him lead her out to their car. It was a quiet drive up to the cabin, since there was no chatter from the children, but that seemed to just drive home the point that she was well and truly married to the love of her life. Eventually, they arrived at the cabin, and Erin felt fresh tears sparkle in her eyes when she saw that someone, most likely Jessica, had decorated the line of trees that led the way to the cabin proper with large white ribbons tied in bows. The front door had a large wreath of flowers along with a sign that read Just Married. "This is perfect," she whispered as tears began to fall. David nodded as he unlocked the door, and they both saw that the tasteful decorations continued up to the bedroom.

There was a note on the dresser, and Erin drifted over to pick it up, reading Jessica's pretty handwriting. Erin and David, I just wanted to create something beautiful for you, as a way to thank you for making me part of your family after Haley died. And I know, you'll say that I did the same thing for you, but I also know that you'll be just as loving when and if my time comes around. I was going to strew fresh rose petals on the sheets, but I know that they stain and by the time you got here, they'd not be fresh any longer. So I settled for silk rose petals that had been soaked in rose water to smell like the fresh, real, thing. Enjoy your honeymoon. I love you both! Jess

"We have the best friends, David," she whispered as she lolled her head against his chest to look up into his face. Her husband's face. Those words still felt weird to say in her mind, but they also felt right. "And I am sorry to say this, because I would love to luxuriate on a rose petal strewn bed as you make passionate love to me, but I really need to eat something before that can take place. I was so nervous this morning that I didn't really eat breakfast, instead focusing on getting the kids fed before we had to head out."

"And we can't have you running out of steam before I finish having my wicked way with you." He waggled his eyebrows at her, causing her to giggle. "And look, it seems as if we were left robes to wear, as well. Almost as if Jessica knew that we wouldn't be spending much of the weekend in clothes. Lean forward, and I'll get you out of your dress so that we don't spill on it."

Erin nodded as she followed his instruction, feeling the dress loosen around her chest as the zipper ran down her spine. She let out a pretend gasp of shock when she felt him undo her bra, but knew that it would just help later on that evening when they wanted to fall into bed together. Feeling David press his lips against her shoulder blades in turn, Erin let out a soft sigh before getting to her feet and stepping out of the dress before tugging on the sweater that she had left there last time. "I'm not going to put on a skirt for just an hour or two of making and eating a meal. Or will that distract you too much?"

Erin gave him a saucy wink as she sashayed from the bedroom, knowing that his eyes would be following her until he finally got to his feet and caught up with her. Once they were downstairs, he wrapped his arms around her waist in a tight bear hug, and she laughed with joy when he buried his face in the crook her of neck before lifting her up and spinning her around a few times. "I don't think that you could distract me from food if you tried, stellina. Unless you were the table, but…that's not for tonight. Tonight is all about loving on you and celebrating this new chapter of our lives." She nodded and sighed happily as he lowered her to the ground once more, somehow knowing that this was the best way to start the newest chapter of their lives.
