Chapter 6 - Attack.

Aang POV.

I saw her coming toward me. I felt, her put her hands on my cheeks and gently stroke my cheekbones. I noticed her eyes drop to my lips. But I couldn't move. I was lost in the depths of those blue eyes. I was like a lubricant in her hands. I didn't mind it before. I hated that feeling now. I hated being helpless in front of her.

Finally, to my great joy and fear, Katara kissed me. Very gentle. She didn't try to slide her tongue into my mouth to deepen the kiss. Just a slow and gentle caress with your lips. All my thoughts, fears, and dreams went out of my head. It's been so long since I've kissed those lips. They were still as soft as ever. I missed her lips so much. According to her taste.

I gently placed my hands on her waist, pulling her closer to me. Everything was perfect. At the edge of my consciousness, a part of my mind screamed at me to pull away before it was too late. But I didn't want to listen. I wanted her. Always wanted to. I still want to.

At some point, a small moan escaped her throat. My eyes snapped open. It made me lose control of my mind for a second. All my fears burst out, screaming furiously. I remembered the pain of a broken heart. I remembered how bad I felt. I didn't want to risk my heart anymore, which I was able хоть to heal a little, not without Azula's help.

I pulled away. I saw a flicker of pain in her eyes. I felt sorry for Katara, but I didn't want to take any chances. I don't want to be bold and open about my feelings again, only to be pushed away. Not this time.

- G-good night, Katara, - I muttered, and then I ran away.

I walked briskly toward the house. Our house. It's pretty funny. I ran away from Katara to a place where there were many memories of us together. Memories of various kinds.

Memory

It was a lovely evening, or even a night, I'm not sure. I was so lost in joy that I didn't notice how quickly time passed. I came back this afternoon as all my scheduled tasks were finished. If nothing happens in the world in the near future, which requires my mandatory presence, then I could spend about a week here. A week with Katara that I missed so much.

But that wasn't all that made it a wonderful evening. Today will be the first night that Katara and I will spend in the house! In our house! Just the two of us and no more! Well, I also remembered that we were going to share a bed with Katara. We've done this a couple of times before on our travels, but no one knew about it (except Toph because of her all-seeing legs). Now we could sleep together and not be afraid of getting caught or anything!

Right now, Katara and I were in our bedroom getting ready for bed. Even though we were both looking forward to it, we were still nervous. Okay, mostly I was nervous. But not much!

- Ah, Aang, stop being embarrassed, - Katara said with a giggle.

I looked at her. To my surprise, she was already in bed while I was still removing my robes. She was wearing her nightgown, which left her shoulders and neck exposed, and she was holding out her arms in my direction.

- Sorry, - I said, then crawled into bed next to her when I was done with my clothes, saving some space between us.

- What's the matter with you? - The waterbender asked. – We've done this before, and you always hugged me when we went to bed. Did I do something? - she asked, slightly offended, turning her back on me.

- No! - I quickly replied, closing the distance to hug my girlfriend. – It's not your fault! It's just... it's just that I'm nervous for some reason... I'm not sure why, - I admitted.

- We don't have to sleep together yet if you're so worried, - Katara said.

- No, I just need some time... and practice, - I said, pulling her back against my chest. - I'm sorry if I made you think it was your fault, - I said, burying my face in her hair and kissing her neck.

In response, she turned her head and cupped my face, only to pull me in for a kiss. She ran her tongue over my lower lip, asking me to open my lips. I did so, and our languages clashed for dominance. At some point, I missed the attack, so she snuck into my mouth, exploring it. A low moan escaped my throat.

I put my hands on her waist, pulling her closer. She turned around completely, then straddled me. I felt my already hard cock touch her soft womanhood. I moved my hands to her hips, pulling her closer to me, wanting more of the sensation. Katara must have come to a similar conclusion because the next thing I knew, we were rocking back and forth, creating friction between us. She pulled her mouth away from mine and moaned. It was the best sound I've ever heard. I put my hand on the back of her head to pull her neck down to my face, then started covering that spot with kisses. I alternated between licking, sucking, and light biting. Katara continued to rock as her moans grew louder and louder.

At some point, I started to feel like I didn't have much time left. I grabbed Katara's ass, and she gasped, but she didn't stop moving. I squeezed her buttocks and helped her rock faster. My hormones probably got the better of me. In the next second, I lifted my face and passionately began to kiss her face: cheekbones, chin, cheeks. I squeezed and unclenched her ass, massaged it with my hands, and kissed it more fiercely.

- Aang, I'm so close, - she whispered, sweat breaking out on her forehead.

I tried to hold back my orgasm, so I moved my kisses to my neck and put my hands back on my hips. I kissed her neck, licking her sweat-salty skin. I also started stroking her legs to help her reach her peak.

Finally, she let out a loud moan and shuddered, then began to relax after the orgasm. My peak occurred almost immediately after her, my cock jerked, and I let out a throaty moan. I grabbed her buttocks again, making one last swinging motion to finish it off completely.

After a while, I finished and spread my arms on the bed, inhaling and exhaling deeply to relax. Katara seemed to have already done that, as she leaned down and started kissing my collarbone, gradually moving up to my lips. When she reached her destination, Katara kissed me chastely, not going too deep to give me a break. Then she lay down so that her head rested on my chest.

- Wow… - Katara whispered, giggling.

- I agree, - I said, also laughing a little hoarsely. – But to be honest, I liked it...

- Of course, you liked it, - she said gravely. – You groped my ass!

- I-I'm sorry, - I apologized, feeling guilty. – I d-don't know what came over me...

- I'm just kidding, honey, - Waterbender interrupted, giggling again. – Actually, I liked the way you caressed me with your hands.

Feeling brave that she wasn't angry, I raised my hand and put my hand on her buttock and squeezed, but not hard.

- I take it you like it. - she teased, smiling.

- Actually, yes, - I admitted, then started massaging her, - it's so firm and slightly plump...

- Okay, enough fun, - Katara said. – You're here today, you need to rest.

- Okay, - I agreed, then moved my hand to her waist.

- Good night, Katara, - I said, kissing her on the forehead.

- Good night, Aang, - she said, and then we fell silent, falling asleep.

While I was enjoying my memories, I reached home. When I went inside, I found Azula lying on the couch, asleep. I smiled at that, then went over and carefully picked her up to carry her to the bedroom. For a second, I thought that there was a part of me that didn't want Azula sleeping in our bed. In the end, I gave up and decided to take her to the other bedroom, hoping that Katara hadn't taken the bedclothes out of the room. I kicked open the door and entered the room. To my relief, she didn't. I put the princess on the bed and covered her with a blanket, then left the room.

When Azula was tucked in, I went into our bedroom. I looked around more closely. Nothing has changed. There was still a linen closet against the wall. There was a small table and two chairs in the corner. There were still curtains on the window. I went to the closet and opened it, thinking I'd see Katara's clothes. I didn't see anything and I'm not surprised. All the shelves were empty.

Finally, I turned my gaze to the bed where we slept together. I sat on the edge of the bed, leaning on the sheets, not sure if I could sleep there. Steeling myself, I lay down on the bed. Namely, on her side of the bed. Burying my face in her pillow, I inhaled the faint scent of Katara that was still there. The smell of lilac and ocean salt. I loved the smell of her, so I inhaled harder. Feeling that the bag hidden in my chest pocket was uncomfortable, I decided to remove the top of my mantle altogether, not daring to lay out the thing, because I was afraid that someone (although only Azula and I were in the house) would see it and look inside.

After undressing, I wrapped myself in our blanket, snuggled into Katara's pillow, and soon finally let my body rest after more than two days of insomnia.

I woke up to someone shaking my shoulder. I slowly opened my eyes, fighting the urge to close them again. When I focused on the person's face, I realized it was Sokka.

- Sokka, - I groaned, rolling over. – What do you want?

- Good morning to you, too, buddy, - he greeted, laughing a little too loudly for my liking. - Believe me, if it were up to me, I would let you sleep, but the advice is waiting for you. There are four days left until the Winter Solstice meetings start. Therefore, we must hurry up with the solution of the problem.

I groaned in frustration, but I sat up anyway, because I knew I had a job ahead of me. My eyes caught sight of the mantle. I shot a quick glance at Sokka, but he was calm. So, I concluded, he hadn't found anything. I quickly pulled the mantle over me, feeling the familiar light pressure on my chest again.

- Come on, - I said, and then we left the bedroom, and I suddenly thought of Azula. – Do you know if Azula is awake?

- Well, I didn't see her, - the warrior replied. – You want to take her with you?

- Only if she wants to, - I said. - I'll ask her, and you can wait outside, - Sokka left, and I went to the door and knocked. - Azula, are you sleeping?

The door opened almost immediately, revealing a cheerful Azula.

- I take it you've been awake a long time. - I asked.

- Well, maybe not very long ago, but it's definitely been about an hour, - she clarified. – Did you want something?

- Actually, I'm being asked by the Council about a perfume problem, - I said. – I thought you might want to go.

- Why would I do that? - she asked, crossing her arms. – I've heard enough of those stupid old men in the Fire Nation. I don't think they're any different here.

- I can't argue with that, - I agreed. - OK. If anything happens, we'll be at the Council building...

- I'm coming with you, - Azula interrupted, making me raise an eyebrow.

- But you just said you'd heard enough of these old people, didn't you?

- Yes, I've heard enough. But I didn't say I wasn't going, - Azula explained. - Come on, let's not keep the old people waiting.

Even though I knew it wasn't very respectful to say that I couldn't help but laugh at it, as I knew from experience that the more late you were, the grumpier and grumpier they became.

- So, she's coming with us after all, - Sokka said to Azula, and I left the house.

- Do you mind? - Azula asked.

- No, no! - my friend quickly replied, holding up his palms. – I just mean, you'll get bored quickly.

- Trust me… Sokka, - Azula began. – If I suddenly get bored, I'll find a way to have fun... which reminds me. Aang, you said you'd show me some 'royal' entertainment. When are you going to do that?

- As soon as we settle the matter with the spirits, I'll show you, Azula, - I said. - All right let's go.

So, we started moving towards the Council House of the Southern Water Tribe. We didn't say anything on the way, so I asked Sokka to tell me exactly what had happened. He explained to me that he and Katara decided to take a walk to the ocean (I understand, why Katara decided to go, but Sokka?), where they noticed that a huge avalanche was coming at the Tribe. Katara tried to stop her with her bend but failed. They overtook the avalanche and reached the Tribe, where the waterbenders, led by Master Pakku, then gathered to stop the wave. It was during the mission that they noticed a few spirits, who then attacked them while bending...

- Bending? - I asked, surprised. - They subdued the water as if they were waterbenders?

- Yes, - he said. – You think that's weird?

- That's very strange, - I said.

I don't have much knowledge of Spirits, but I do know that spirits can't control the elements. It wasn't normal.

Sokka continued his story, ending with the fact that they then simply ran away, as there was a significant advantage in strength. I nodded as I processed all the information I received, though I sensed that there was something he wasn't telling me. Was it my paranoia or not? I'm afraid I won't know.

Finally, we reached the two-story Council House building. I wasn't surprised by the stone pillars in the corners, since the last time I was here, this was already present.

- Avatar Aang, - a man's voice said suddenly.

I turned my head and saw that it was Chief Hakoda.

- Chief Hakoda, - I greeted him in the traditional Water Tribe handshake, but the next moment I was pulled into a hug.

I was surprised by this, but I hugged Hakoda back. Obviously, he understood my confusion because he explained.

- I know you and Katara have some personal issues, but you're still part of the family, - he explained.

I smiled sincerely because it meant a lot to me.

- Thank you, Chief...- he looked at me seriously. - I mean, Hakoda.

- That's it, son, - he laughed, patting me on the back, then turned to Azula. - The princess.

- No need for formalities, - she said. - Just call me Azula. Any friend of Aang's is my friend.

The chief nodded, then turned back to me.

- Has Sokka told you the details yet?

- Yes, I did, Dad, - my friend confirmed with a strange intonation, and also gave Hakoda a strange look. – I've explained everything I need to know.

- Very well, - said the chief. – Well, let's go. The council is waiting only for us.

We entered the building. As I walked through the corridors, I couldn't help but remember one funny incident.

Memory

I was on my way to the Council Chamber to talk to Hakoda about some transportation routes he would like to create with my help. When suddenly Sokka ran past me in the opposite direction, followed by my beloved girlfriend Katara...

- SOKKA! - Katara shouted as she ran after her brother. - Stop now, and then I'll just freeze you for a day!

- Or what? - The warrior asked loudly as he continued to run.

- Otherwise, I'll stuff your ass and freeze you for three days!

- It's not my fault that your food is getting more and more tasteless! - he shouted back.

- I'll get you, Sokka, and then I'll kick your ass SO hard that you won't be able to sit up for a week! - ... her screams soon became inaudible, as if they were running out into the street.

I continued on my way, chuckling.

Just let's say that Sokka had to be defrosted afterwards... and his butt definitely needed a healing session...

- Why are you laughing? - Azula asked. – You're going to a boring and boring meeting. And you're laughing. Why?

- I remembered something, - I explained. - Hey, Sokka?

- Yes? - he turned to me.

- Do you remember how you used to run through these halls?

— That's when he said Katara's food was getting tasteless? - Hakoda suddenly interjected, laughing. - Even I remember that. Although I agreed with you to some extent on this point, you were still stupid to say that to your sister, son. You've traveled a lot with her, but you still sometimes forget that your sister is a powerful waterbender with an explosive temper.

- Yes, I remember that - Sokka admitted irritably. – Can we forget about it?

- Oh, I want to hear about it! - Azula asked.

- Another time, children, - the chief said as we approached the doors to the Council Chamber. – We're here.

Chief Hakoda opened the wide double doors, revealing a room with a huge table flanked by councilors who were talking quietly to each other. To be fair, not everyone here was old. There were a few young people who kept to themselves, obviously feeling out of place. We started moving to the front of the table, where our seats were located.

- Avatar Aang, - Master Pakku greeted with a slight bow. - I'm glad to see you well.

- Likewise, Master Pakku.

Finally, we took our seats, and there was silence.

- So, the Council is now open, - Hakoda announced, opening his arms wide. – The next issue on the agenda is that the Southern Water Tribe has been attacked by spirits. Therefore, Avatar Aang was called in as a consultant and assistant in solving this problem.

- Avatar Aang, do you already know how to solve the problem? - One of the councilors asked.

- I'm still working on a plan, - I said. – The situation is non-standard; a non-standard solution is required.

- What do you mean? The tribe has been attacked by evil spirits, and you are discussing the specifics of the situation. Isn't it in your competence to solve such issues? - another adviser asked.

- Avatar Aang wants to say that the spirits bended the water themselves, as if they were benders, - Master Pakku said, and I nodded my thanks.

- Master Pakku has correctly explained my slight confusion, - I said. - Spirits, by definition, are incapable of subduing the elements. They can't do that in our world or in the Spirit world.

- Then why did they suddenly get this ability? - The chief asked.

- To be honest, I don't have an exact reason. But I have an idea...

- You're the Avatar! You need to know what's going on! - one of the young councilors exclaimed, and several others joined in.

I was about to reply, but they beat me to it.

- Do you hear me, you pathetic old geezers and stupid young people? – Azula interjected, raising her voice. - Avatar Aang is trying to solve the problem somehow! He suggests, shares ideas! Thinking it over! Works with your head! And you? You just sit on your pathetic assess and blame him! - Azula snarled.

The room fell silent. I glanced at the Chief out of the corner of my eye, thinking that he was angry at such a statement, but he was completely calm. So, I decided to continue.

- The idea is that because the Winter Solstice is approaching, the spirits are somehow able to bend the water. But again, this is very strange. Therefore, the situation is unusual...

- Chief Hakoda, your daughter has been attacked by a spirit! - A warrior said as he ran into the council chamber, interrupting me.

My heart sank. Fear settled in my mind. If a group of waterbenders led by a not-so-weak Master Pakku escaped from the spirits when they attacked, then Katara alone would definitely not be able to cope, no matter how powerful a Waterbender she was.

She could have been hurt. Worse. She could have died.

There was nothing to think about. It was necessary to act. Now.

Without thinking twice, I immediately got up from the table and ran out of the hall, hoping that it was not too late, following the man.

- Which way is it? - I shouted.

- It's outside the north gate! - they shouted back at me.

I didn't wait any longer and rushed in the right direction, pushing myself to bend the air in order to gain a higher speed. I thought I heard Azula and Sokka's voices behind me, but right now it didn't matter. There was only one thought in my head.

Katara. Save Katara. Protect her at all costs. Any. The price.

Soon enough, I reached the north gate. They were closed. Another time I would have jumped over the wall or asked for the gate to be opened, but not this time. It was necessary to act. I created a fire in my palm and directed it at the gate, melting it. Those who were usually on the ground here were shouting something. But no. Not now.

When I was quite close to the gate, there was finally a passage as big as I was, so I dived into it and got out on the other side. I expected to find Katara and the spirits battling, but there was a fog in front of my eyes.

I took a deep breath and let the Avatar state pass through me for a second to gain additional power. I waved my hands, bending my element, and made waving motions to clear the fog. A second later, I saw Katara struggling with two spirits, and quite unsuccessfully. Her parka was torn in places. Her hair was unraveling. Her movements weren't very fast, but she still kept up. But she was also tired. She did not close all attacks and did not have time to attack herself at all, playing only in defense.

- Katara! - I shouted in fear for her life, rushing towards her.

It was a mistake. I wish I'd kept my mouth shut, like she told me three years ago. I wish I'd shut up.

She turned her head and our eyes met. There was a flicker of love in her eyes, and I'm sure there was also in mine. She smiled slightly and lost her concentration. This is exactly what the spirits were waiting for. In the next second, she was pierced by an ice spear and fell to the snow with a cry, making a last defensive movement with her hand to create a small ice dome, but she didn't get to her feet again.

The Avatar State was awakened in me. Namely, an uncontrolled Avatar State that I haven't had since my battle with Ozai in the day of Sozin's Comet eight years ago. If I would have tried to hold on to it before, I won't do this now. I felt a huge surge of strength in my entire body, but I didn't control it and couldn't affect the course of the battle. And I didn't want to control this.

I'll kill for Katara. I'll kill for Katara. I'll kill. For. Katara.
