A.N. — No family doldrums today; we're back in the Vigilantes manga with perhaps one of the most interesting and under-utilized characters in the wider canon. Seriously, she has TWO works with her tagged as a character on AO3 (prior to now); her character design alone should make her a dark horse fan favorite.
322. Sameko
Sameko and Rumi reversed the predator/prey dynamic in their friendship. The supposedly-timid little rabbit was the dominant force over the bashful, blushing shark girl.
Hero schools were cutthroat environments, yet Sameko never smelt the blood in the water. Rumi was gung-ho enough for the both of them, drawing attention her way and letting Sameko lurk in the background. Every time the duo was spotted in the hallways, it was a reminder to not underestimate those seen as weak or ascribe too much to someone at first glance. Sameko went with the flow; Rumi relished kicking against it.
