Layla Heartfilia looks like her daughter, but she seems more put together than her daughter is. She seems ready for just about anything. For example, she gets out of bed and gets ready for her day. She got herself showered and ready for the day. She even read her horoscope daily.

"Let's see... Today will bring me... Ooh... It doesn't look like it might not be so good, but I'm not going to let negative thoughts cloud my day." Layla said. It was like nothing bothered her. She got ready for the day as placed a laundry basket right at the bottom of the stairs to Lucy's room. Layla also sets out breakfast for her daughter and even a sponge on the floor. Layla has a plan and knows how to make it work. While she gets organized with everything she needs for the day, Lucy came down.

"Morn... Yikes!" Lucy called, but she ended up tripping and falling. Luckily, Layla anticipated that and that's why she placed the laundry basket there.

"Morning, Lucy. Breakfast?" Layla offered.

"Thanks, Mom." Lucy said as she helped herself while Layla got some coffee ready.

"Morning, my loves." Jude said as Layla greeted him with a kiss and handed him coffee for his day. It's like this woman knows what everyone wants. As Lucy helped herself to some breakfast, she accidently knocked over some orange juice.

"Oh! I'm so sorry!" Lucy said.

"It's fine." Layla said as she showed the sponge absorbed most of it.

"Mom, I was thinking that maybe we could do some shopping today." Lucy said. "Maybe we can also try that new restaurant. That's assuming if you're not busy."

"I was thinking the same thing, which is why I made reservations last night and cleared my schedule." Layla said like she anticipated she would ask that. "We can go for lunch after my painting class." Lucy was amazed with the kind of woman her mother was.

"We interrupt this broadcast to bring you an embodimonster alert!" Bisca called on the news. "The candy embodimonster has returned and is on a rampage."

"I... I have to go! I need to meet with Erza and Levy!" Lucy called as she had to get to work.

"Just don't forget to meet me after my painting class, or to buy a ticket for the bus." Layla said.

"I won't!" Lucy called as she hurried back up the stairs. Layla Heartfilia is smart, organized, responsible, and see things coming before they happen. She seems like she can do it all. It actually made Lucy feel a little inadequate about herself.

"Your mother really is amazing." Stella said as they were safe in Lucy's room with Lucy quickly getting dressed. "She's usually busy, but works like a well oiled machine."

"The opposite of me. I look like her, but I'm not much like her." Lucy said as she felt guilty about that. "She's really amazing, but all I do is add problems. I wish I could do something for her that shows how much I appreciate her."

"That's a great idea! I'm sure your mother would love anything you do, even if it's something small." Stella claimed. "First, let's deal with that candy monster."

"Right. Stella, Twinkle!"

...

Layla's Class

When Layla said she had a painting class, she meant that she was the teacher. She was teaching a variety of people how to be better painters and it seemed like it was going rather well.

"There are different kinds of brushes that hold different purpose." Layla said. "Understanding that can really help your paintings become alive. For example, Chinese brushes are different from western brushes. They can help you master the different shades of ink such as dry, concentrate, thick, clear, and diluted. If you can remember what brush can do what, you can make a real masterpiece." She continued on with her class until they all heard some sort of commotion outside.

"Hey! It's Celestria and Salamondra!" All of them had a look and saw Celestria and Salamondra fighting against the candy embodimonster.

"Those poor kids. They never seem to get a break." Layla said as she felt bad for them. "I wonder what their parents think of this." If only she knew.

...

Celestria

Celestria and Salamondra fought hard against the embodimonster and was able to defeat it like any other foe. Once it was over and done, the two heroes made their way back to their normal days.

"Lights Out!" Celestria turned back to Lucy.

"Made it with plenty of time to spare." Lucy said.

"If you hurry, you might be able to make it in time." Stella said with Lucy hurrying off in hopes that she can catch her mother in time.

...

Layla

Once Layla's class was over, she gathered all of her stuff together. She even had chouquettes she had for her class leftover and took them with her. When Lucy didn't show at the bus stop, she gave her a quick call and only got her voicemail.

"Hi, Lucy. You're not at the bus stop yet, so you have about four chouquettes to get here." Layla said. That was right when the bus pulled up and she climbed right on. "Excuse me, sir. I hope you don't mind if I put this here while I get my wallet." She said as she put the bag down and had a look for her wallet.

"Ooh... Chouquettes." The driver said as he seemed to like what was in there.

"Help yourself. They're leftovers from my class, but I certainly wouldn't want to hold up the bus." Layla said as she was playing him until Lucy showed up.

"Well, they certainly should go to waste." The driver said as he helped himself to a little snack and was going just as Layla planned.

"Mom!" Lucy called as she made it just in time. "Sorry! I'm here!"

"Lucy! Did you remember your ticket, or at least the money to buy one?" Layla asked. Lucy actually did forget both of the things and had nothing on her. "Luckily, I came prepared." She said as she showed she had a spare ticket for her and paid for both of them.

"Thanks, Mom. I'm really sorry." Lucy said as the two went back.

"It's fine, but you should learn to be a little more organized." Layla said. Layla is no less than amazing. As the two of them made their way to the back of the bus, Layla noticed one passenger on his phone in a handicap spot while someone in a wheelchair was having trouble adjusting. "Excuse me, but could you please give your spot to this man? He needs it more."

"I'm busy, toots." The man said as he just held up his hand to her and told her to be quiet. That was rude and Layla certainly wouldn't let that be. She looked around and her thought process was like Celestria's. She noticed the upcoming traffic light, the rude passenger, the one in the wheelchair, and one of her brushes. She took one of her brushes and placed it on the floor. When the traffic light turned red, the bus was stopping and it caused the rude passenger to lose his balance. He stepped right on the brush and tripped away from the handicapped spot. When that happened, Layla moved quickly and got the passenger in the wheelchair in the proper spot.

"There you go." Layla said.

"Thank you." The passenger said with Lucy surprised, amazed, and pleased with her mother. From there, the two of them just enjoyed the bus ride until Lucy saw a flower shop at the next stop and thought this would be a great time to give her mother something.

"Mom, I forgot that I need to buy something important. I hate to do this, but can I borrow your wallet?" Lucy asked.

"I don't know, Lucy. I don't think you'll have enough time to get off and back on." Layla said.

"Please. I'll be as fast as I can." Lucy pleaded. Layla went with it because she was ready either way as she handed her wallet over to Lucy and Lucy hurried to the flower shop as fast as she could. She tried to find the right set of flowers. When she finally found a set she liked, she moved as fast as she could.

"You're buying a gift for your mother with her money?" Stella questioned.

"I don't have any money right now. I'll just have to work extra harder for her." Lucy said as she took out the money and paid for it, but she didn't move fast enough. The bus was already leaving with her off of it. "Oh no! Wait!"

...

Layla

Layla anticipated this outcome and counted the seconds until Lucy called. Her counting was perfect as her phone went off.

"Mom! The bus left without me!" Lucy called.

"I know. I'm still on it." Layla said. "It's okay. I'll just get off at the next stop and wait for you there." She planned this out, but there was something she didn't plan on. When the bus stopped, she was about to get off, but someone who checks the tickets got in her way.

"Ticket, please." The inspector said.

"I'm sorry, sir. My daughter got off earlier and took my ticket with her." Layla said. "We can just wait for her here." She was being nice about it, but this guy wasn't so nice.

"Ha! That's a new one!" The inspector said as he thought she was lying. "Trying to use your looks and playing on sympathy with me? I don't think so. No ticket is a find."

"But I don't have any money. My daughter took my wallet." Layla claimed.

"Typical. A woman doesn't have money and needs a man to help her out." The inspector claimed. "Your story would have been more believable if you claimed you had a son. Well, let's just see what the police have to say about this."

"The police?! That isn't fair!" Layla claimed.

"What's unfair is trying to take advantage of the good and hardworking men of Paris." The inspector claimed. "The police will be sure to put you in your place, lady." He said like he was taunting her. This man is being hard on her simply because she's a woman. That man made her miss the stop she was suppose to get off of. Lucy arrived there, but saw no sign of her mother which was odd to her.

...

The Next Stop

Layla and the ticket inspector got off at the next stop and ended up finding Officer Lahar. This guy was seriously going to try and arrest her.

"Officer! This lady was on the bus with no ticket, no money, no ID, and claimed her "daughter" had all of it." The inspector claimed.

"Officer Lahar, I am not lying. You actually met my daughter before. Her name is Lucy Heartfilia." Layla claimed.

"See? More lies. This woman is clearly trying to weasel her way out of trouble with sympathy just like all women do." The inspector claimed.

"I wouldn't know about that, but I have met her daughter a couple times." Lahar claimed. "However... I'm sorry Mrs. Heartfilia, but you did cause some violations. I'm afraid I have to bring you in for an identity check."

"Identity check? Is that really necessary?" Layla questioned.

"Be quiet! No one asked for your opinion and it would be in your best interest if you actually do stay quiet!" The inspector said. "The bottom line is that you are going down hard for breaking the law."

"Settle down." Lahar said as he was trying to be the reasonable one. "I'm afraid he's right. The law is the law and you broke it." Layla couldn't believe this was happening to her. Just then, her phone was about to go off, but the inspector took it from her.

"That could be my daughter! She's probably worried about me!" Layla said.

"If she is, it's your own fault. Two delicate women like yourself need a man, a real man, to keep you out of trouble." The inspector claimed.

"This is nonsense!" Layla said as she was getting angry. "I didn't do anything wrong, this whole thing is one big misunderstanding, and I'm more than capable of taking care of myself and my daughter. I might be a woman, but I am also a decent member of society." She said as she was coming close to assaulting him for this, and she's not usually a violent person.

"You need to calm down at once!" Lahar said.

"Officer Lahar, is there a problem?" A couple fellow officers asked as they came over to help.

"Yes! I am a victim of injustice!" Layla calmed

"You will only speak when spoken to, ma'am!"

"Ma'am, we've tried being reasonable, but I must do my duty." Lahar said as he took a pair of handcuffs on her.

"Yes! Put her in her place!" The inspector said as he seemed to be enjoying this with them taking her away.

"What is wrong with all of you?! This isn't right!" Layla said as she couldn't believe this is happening when she hasn't done anything wrong.

...

Black Knight

"Injustice, abuse of power, and showing of gender bias. It can make even the sincerest of souls dark and tainted." Black Knight said as he took an etherious and filled it with dark power. "Fly, my etherious. Let's tip the scales of justice in our favor!" He said as he released it.

...

Layla

The etherious flew it's way to the handcuffs holding Layla and connected her to Black Knight.

"Shooting Star, I'm Black Knight. You have been brought a great deal of injustice and unfairness, all just because you're a mere woman. If that's the case, I'll give you power to ensure that shows women's power."

"Lies. Why would you do that? You just hurt people and take advantage of them." Layla claimed as she tried to resist.

"You have me all wrong. All I want with the miraculous is bring back something I lost long ago. Something that is precious and irreplaceable for me." Black Knight said. "I can give you this power to face this injustice. In fact, I'm really the only one here who is willing to help you." Layla tried to resist, but she could not as Black Knight had a way with words.

"Very well." Layla said as she accepted and began to transform.

...

Lucy

Lucy kept trying to call her mother, but there was no answer no matter how many times she tried.

"Something is wrong, Stella. Mom wouldn't leave me like this, and she would answer." Lucy said as she was starting to get concerned. That was when she saw a police helicopter flying by and went further down the street, but she saw a stream of light smashed into it and knocked it off course. "That doesn't look good!" Taking a quick look to make sure no one was looking, she jumped into action. "Stella, Twinkle!"

...

Shooting Star

Shooting Star was bringing upon chaos and havoc. Shooting Star was a villain with a series of blue shades suit that looks like it's designed after space. Her hair was also tied back, wearing a white scarf, had a blue star on her head, and her eyes were glowing blue. As for the handcuffs, they were changed into large metal braces.

"Take these handcuffs off me!" Shooting Star shouted as she threw her arms around to get the braces off.

"Charge in, men!" Lahar ordered as some of his men charged at her with shields, but Shooting Star was too fast for them. She used fast and nimble movements to avoid the officers and swat them all down like they were flies. "Set up a perimeter and seal her in!"

"Yes! Seal her in!" The inspector pleaded. The police tried to trap Shooting Star in a confined space, but it didn't work. She turned herself into a stream of light and smashed herself against everything with much force and speed behind it that those armored cars were flipped and knocked down. As this went on, Celestria arrived and saw what was happening. "You all are getting what you deserved! You are all corrupt and just looking for people to frame when I am innocent in all of this!"

"That voice... Mom?!" Celestria said as she didn't like this. Shooting Star continued her rampage as she gathered energy into her hands and fired powerful star blasts at everything. Celestria had to act fast as she jumped in and got her whip around her arms so she could pull them away.

"Stop! You're putting innocent people in danger!" Celestria said.

"Don't listen to her, Shooting Star." Black Knight claimed to try and control her. "Celestria is no better than they are. She did nothing to help you. She's defending these people when they are the ones who are wrong!"

"If you are defending these people, you are my enemy as well!" Shooting Star claimed as she tried to fight her as she freed herself from Celestria's whip. Shooting Star tried attacking her as she jumped in the air and was about to slam down her leg against her, but that was when Salamondra showed up. He jumped in the way and used his staff to knock her away.

"And here I was hoping to make a wish on a shooting star." Salamondra said.

"Careful, Salamondra. She's pretty strong." Celestria said.

"So are we. Let's see who gets to free the etherious first." Salamondra said as he charged at her. Celestria tried using her whip against her, but Shooting Star was able to catch it and pull on it for Celestria to be pulled to the ground. Salamondra jumped in the air and extended his staff to strike her, but she caught that as well. She gave him a powerful kick and sent him flying back to Celestria. She didn't stop there as she coated herself in energy and flew right at the two of them. She smashed against them and sent them flying down the street.

"You can't defeat me. Justice is on my side this time." Shooting Star claimed.

"It's on her side when she's the one attacking us?" Salamondra questioned.

"I think there might be more to this than we think." Celestria said as she knows her mother wouldn't be like this without there being a good reason behind it.

"Prove your really on the side of justice by getting these handcuffs off me!" Shooting Star insisted as she powered her hands and started firing energy blasts once again with the two heroes moving fast to avoid her attacks. If they're going to beat this enemy, they need to know more about what happened. That's what they thought as they ducked behind some cars.

"Celestria! Over here!" Officer Lahar called. When they noticed him, the two of them hurried over while the police tried to fend off Shooting Star.

"Officer Lahar, what happened? What happened that caused this woman to become etheriouized." Celestria questioned.

"I'm not entirely sure. We were just doing out jobs and she was the one getting upset." Lahar claimed.

"What did she do exactly?" Salamondra questioned.

"She was on a bus without a ticket, no ID, no money, and she claimed her daughter had all of it." The inspector claimed. "She was such a liar."

"I know who that woman is. She's no liar and is an upstanding citizen. Didn't you give her a chance to explain?" Celestria questioned.

"Maybe we should find this daughter. She might be able to explain everything and get her to calm down." Salamondra said.

"Uh... That might take too long. She could really be anywhere." Celestria said since she was actually the daughter that was needed.

"Honestly, this wouldn't have happened if she was put in her place." The inspector claimed.

"What's that suppose to mean?" Celestria questioned.

"If she and her daughter were out and about, they should have had a man with them." The inspector claimed. "He would have been able to sort out this entire mess and keep that woman in line."

"Excuse me?" Celestria said as she didn't like what he was implying.

"Her transformation is also absurd. Why does she have such immense power and strength. All those men and she's able to beat all of them? It's nonsense!" The inspector claimed.

"Are you saying she had what was coming to her? Her transformation is absurd? All of it's really because she's a woman?!" Celestria said as she couldn't believe he had the nerve to say such things. "So what if she is a woman? She's an upstanding citizen who would never break the law."

"But... But she had it all coming." The inspector claimed. "I mean...the likes of her can't really be...like this."

"And what does that make someone like me? I'm a young lady, but I'm a superhero and practically the brains of the duo here." Celestria said.

"I'm with her on this. That's pretty messed up." Salamondra said as they both hated what this man was saying. However, there was no time to lecture him about it as they heard Shooting Star was causing more and more damage.

"We'll deal with this later. It sounds like all we need to do is get those handcuffs off." Celestria said.

"I'll just use my Dragon Fire." Salamondra said.

"But how are you going to get close enough to grab them? She won't stay still and will think you're just attacking her." Celestria said as she stopped that plan. The need a way to get close enough to her to remove those handcuffs. "I think we just need a little faith. Open the Celestial Gate!" Celestria used her powers and ended up getting a shield with the Taurus sign on it. "A shield?" She looked around on how to use it with her seeing the cuffs and the keys, but knows what the shield is really for. "Of course! The shield is to protect us from the attacks. Lahar, I need you give me the keys to the cuffs."

"Are you nuts?! She's a monster while she's cuffed!" The inspector claimed.

"I'm afraid I can't just give away my keys, Celestria." Lahar refused.

"We don't have time for your nonsense. Give me those keys or I'll take them by force." Celestria insisted.

"Assaulting a federal officer would be a great offense and you'll be breaking the law as well." Lahar refused as he was keeping the keys away.

"Sorry about this, but we are on your side." Salamondra said. Out of nowhere, he tackled him and yanked the keys from him. He threw them to Celestria and she made her move. Shooting Star noticed her and fired some blasts right at her, but Celestria used the shield to block her attacks.

"Shooting Star, stop! Look!" Celestria called as she showed she had the keys. "I have the keys to the cuffs right here! I'll set you free as long as you stop attacking! You don't need the powers Black Knight gave you!"

"Don't listen to her! It's a trick! Attack her and take her miraculous!" Black Knight ordered. Shooting Star was getting ready to attack, but she hesitated to do anything. The keys were right there and Celestria is handing them over. It had her realize there are good people out there.

"No. She's right. I don't need your powers." Shooting Star claimed and was able to reject the etherious and the powers. She severed her connection with Black Knight and the etherious flew out with Celestria catching it. Once she did that, she walked right over to her and removed the cuffs from her and freed her from injustice.

"Are you okay?" Celestria asked.

"Yes. Thank you." Layla said as Celestria was glad her mother was safe. What Celestria did next was free the etherious and restore everything.

"Miraculous Starlight!" She tossed the shield into the air and the magic stars repaired all the damage that was done. Once that was done, Celestria used her powers and created a blue star charm for her mother. "Mrs. Heartfilia, keep this with you so you won't be persuaded by Black Knight again, even if it is for a good cause." She said as she passed it to her and Layla gladly took it.

"Nice work as always. Who says girls drool?" Salamondra said as he came over.

"You better believe it." Celestria said.

"Pound it!" Both heroes celebrated. However, there was still the matter of the police as both Lahar and the inspector came over.

"Hold it! You can't arrest her!" Salamondra said.

"She broke the law, and look at all that she's done!" The inspector claimed.

"Because of you and how you treated her!" Salamondra said. "Mrs. Heartfilia would never do something like this unless there was a good reason behind it. You can't arrest her just for being a woman."

"Officer Lahar, we're not saying the law is a bad thing; but if you intend to enforce it, you need to be fair." Celestria said as she reminded Lahar how he should do his job and got him to feel ashamed for what he did.

"You're right, Celestria. I won't put the cuffs on her, but we do need to sort out this mess." Lahar said.

"I think that daughter will be able to take it from here. Come on, Salamondra. We're not needed here anymore." Celestria said and Salamondra trusted her as the two of them left. However, the inspector was a little nervous.

"You're not going to be etheriouized again, are you?" The inspector questioned, but Layla was getting annoyed with her.

"Mom! Mom!" Celestria was able to change back into Lucy and came running in with the flowers she wanted to give to her. When she showed up, she ran straight into her mother's arms. "I was so worried about you. I'm so sorry." She said and turned the inspector and Lahar. "Celestria told me everything. Here." She said as she handed over the tickets with the inspector giving a quick scan.

"They're... They're valid... She wasn't lying." The inspector claimed as he felt ashamed for how he acted now.

"I'm so sorry. The whole thing was my fault because I wanted to give you these, Mom." Lucy said as she handed her the flowers. "You do so much for me that I wanted to do something that shows how much I appreciate all that you do." Layla was so touched by what Lucy did just for her that she hugged her once more.

"I... I apologize as well. I crossed a line I shouldn't have." The inspector admitted. "Still, you were on the bus without ID or a ticket. There's still a fine that must be paid."

"It was my fault, so I think it's fair that I should be the one that pays for it." Lucy offered.

"That's very responsible of you." The inspector claimed as he took out the bill and handed it to Lucy, but it was still pretty pricey.

"Uh... I..." Lucy stuttered as she wasn't sure how to pay for it now.

"No worries, honey. I got it." Layla said as she did what she always did. She really is like a shooting star as she is incredible.
