Four Months Later

"Kim? Baby?" Tommy called as he walked into their loft and he heard their children crying. Normally if they were having this hard of a time she'd call him up from his classes, but apparently she had decided not to do that tonight. He walked into the nursery and saw that she wasn't in the room and he felt a chill go up his spine. Jay and Kira were both screaming and he gulped before he decided to quickly scan the rest of the loft. He could only imagine one or two things would keep her away from their children and all of the thoughts ended in her unconscious in his mind.

He jogged down to their bedroom and saw it was empty, as well as, the main bath. He knew that she hadn't been in kitchen or living room space. He then jogged towards her office and paused as the door was shut. Normally she only did that when she didn't want to be disturbed, but she never worked with headphones on if she was alone with the twins. He gently pushed against the door and found resistance as it bumped into something.

"Babe?" Tommy called again as he gently tried to push the door open. He managed to get it open enough to peak in and saw that she had barricaded the door and was surrounded by papers as she sat in the middle of the room. He let out a sigh as he realized what was happening and then jogged back to the nursery. "Hi guys, Mama is a little bit lost in her work right now."

Tommy leaned down to pick up Kira as she seemed to be the most fussy and then grabbed his communicator to ring down to the rangers. They rarely called on them for babysitting back up, but he was going to need an extra set of hands. He had no idea how long Kimberly had been in there writing, but his guess was long enough that there were going to be diaper changes and bottles involved.

"Why am I hearing babies crying?" Brandon quipped as Tommy let out a long sigh. "Dr. O?"

"I need a hand- I'll explain once someone gets up here," Tommy said as he cut the connection and went back to trying to soothe Kira. He heard someone calling for him and he just shook his head. "Nursery!"

"Hey- they sent me up for…baby duty…" Cameron trailed off as Tommy was changing a diaper and he looked over to see Jay was still wailing. "What's going on?"

"Some sort of prophecy. She's holed up in her office- barricaded in," Tommy muttered as Cameron froze for a moment and Tommy looked back at him. "You don't have to stay- you can go get one of the others."

"No, it's fine. We knew it would eventually happen," Cameron stated as he went over to Jay and picked him up before grabbing a blanket to lay Jay down on the floor for a diaper change as well. "Do you know what it's about?"

"I couldn't even get into her office," Tommy stated as Cameron glanced over at him and then went back to Jay. "Normally she calls if something like this starts…"

"Dr. O- it's fine. Brandon and I don't have any classes tonight and fall break is next week," Cameron supplied and Tommy just shook his head. He knew the guilt that Kimberly was going to feel when she was done and he didn't want to deal with that. He also knew that Cameron was not the right ranger to talk with about that.

"How are you doing?" Tommy asked and Cameron let out a sigh. They were constantly asking him how he was and he really didn't know. He knew that he was glad that Kiros would never cause anyone else trouble and that helped him be able to sleep at night. He missed Shelby more than he could bring himself to admit, but they all knew that. "So you don't know."

"Well…it's just…" Cameron trailed off as Tommy met his gaze and Cameron quickly looked away. There were times when Dr. O had a bit of an all knowing look and he definitely was sporting that right now. "I don't know how I'm going to go on without her- really go on."

"And I'm not expecting you to know how to do that," Tommy stated and Cameron just nodded. Tommy motioned for him to follow him as both of the babies continued to wail. "I know…I know you want some food."

"Bottles?" Cameron asked and Tommy shrugged. They had started on some baby food, but it was hit or miss on if they would actually eat it. "They doing any better with solids?"

"Just mushy peas and things like that…and it's hit or miss on if they'll actually eat it. Mostly they're spitting it out and making faces at us," Tommy said with a laugh as he grabbed two bags of breast milk and popped them in the warmer. "I know…I know you want food. We're getting it as quick as we can."

"Tommy? Tommy!" Kim yelled as she came back to her senses and she heard their children wailing. She looked around her office and saw the door was ajar, but otherwise blocked by one of her filing cabinets. How had she done this? "Tommy…"

"Hi babe, I'm making them some bottles. Can you wait a bit and then I'll help you out?" Tommy asked as he peaked his head in and she barely nodded. She felt her body shaking and glanced around to try to see a clock. "I'll grab you something too."

"Thanks," Kim whispered as she looked at the papers around her and let out a long sigh. She grabbed the first few in front of her and forced herself to start reading. As she read the first few paragraphs, her heart caught in her throat and she scrambled to pull together more of the papers. This had to be wrong. They had defeated Kiros. He was no longer able to go after anyone. "To…Tommy!"

"He sent me with these," Cameron said as he tried to push the door open a bit more and Kimberly's terrified gaze caught him off-guard. "Kim…what is it?"

"We need to contact Thomas," Kimberly forced out as she started to try to move the filing cabinet and was shocked at how heavy it suddenly felt. How had she moved it before?

"Why don't you eat first? And then Tommy and I can help get that out of the way. It might take the three of us…" Cameron trailed off as Kim, reluctantly, took the snacks and started shoveling them in her mouth. Now that food was in front of her, she realized just how hungry she was. How long had she been in her office? After she finished the snacks, she looked back through the notes again and felt the dread sink into her body. How was she going to tell the two men outside this room that they hadn't really gotten rid of Kiros? Would Cameron be able to accept that reality?

"Babe…can you move that cabinet any?" Tommy asked as his voice broke her out of her thoughts and she looked up at him. "What's wrong?"

"Just help me get out of here…we need to call the rangers…and Abdalon," Kim stated and he barely nodded. She started to pull on the cabinet as he pushed on the door and after a few minutes of huffing and puffing, they finally got the door open enough that he could get into the room and she let out a long sigh. She tried to force back the tears that threatened, but failed as she felt Tommy wrap her up in a tight hug. "He's still alive, Tommy. And he's going to go after JJ."

"JJ? Jay is barely a year old- I think we have awhile…" Tommy trailed off as she violently shook her head against his chest. "Hon, you're not making any sense."

"Call them together- this can't wait," Kim stated as she stepped away from him and he let out a sigh. "I don't want to talk about this anymore than you want to hear about it."

"Baby- you're not making sense…" Tommy trailed off as she glared up at him and he then held his hands up in surrender. "I'll ask them to meet us in an hour. That'll give me time to get the last evening class covered and for the rangers to wrap up any classes they're in. I don't know how much Abdalon will like us demanding that he show up."

"They've made demands of us on more than one occasion- I think in a year and a half us only making a demand on them once is reasonable," Kim shot back and he paused as he looked over at her.

"I'm not the enemy, babe. I know you're upset by what you saw, but taking it out on me isn't going to help things," Tommy stated and she closed her eyes and nodded. Her prophecies had gotten more vivid after Shelby's death and while she had not had a major prophecy until today, she had consistently taken it out on Tommy lately. She had extended her contract with the show as they renovated the Academy and that was a stressor that neither of them wanted. They were going to take every bit of publicity they could get when it came to opening it, but it left her running on fumes. "Take your time to get what you need together- we've got them."

"Tommy…do you know how long…" Kimberly trailed off and he just shook his head. "Shit."

"They're fine. We might have a little diaper rash to deal with, but they're otherwise fine. We may want to look into something that will alert me if you disappear in here for more than a few minutes though," Tommy said as she barely nodded and then went back to gathering papers. He quietly shut the door and she let out a long sigh. Just when she thought they had it all together, something like this happened and she was forced to admit that they were just getting by.

"We're all here. Why do we need to be?" Abdalon asked as they settled into the renovated Command Center and Kimberly settled in front of the main screen. "Kimberly."

"Is there any way that we can get a message to Thomas Trueheart?" Kim asked as Tommy and Abdalon exchanged a glance. "Command Center- that's for you too."

"Kim…why would we need to get a message to him?" Tommy asked as she started pulling up the pages she had scanned into the database and had hastily highlighted over the last hour. They all looked up at the screen and started reading as Kim took a step back. She watched as they each reacted to what she had written and she saw the horror in each of their gazes. "Oh shit."

"Yeah. One of the world's that I see…is Thomas Trueheart's. JJ, if I'm right, is his oldest child. The child that he had with his Kimberly and he, apparently, is also a prophet. They don't know that Kiros is coming for him," Kim stated as she shook her head. "He said that he wasn't done."

"But we defeated him. He can't exist in other worlds if…" Cameron trailed off as Kimberly just shook her head. "How is it possible!"

"I'm not sure. It doesn't make sense to me how we could defeat him in one world and him still be able to move between the other worlds," Kim said as she walked over to Cameron and gently put her hand on his shoulder. "Shelby…we both saw three worlds. We know which world is ours and I think we now know that one of them is also Thomas Trueheart's. My best guess is that…is that Kiros will have to be defeated in all three worlds in order for him to truly be defeated. So that he has no chance to ever come back."

"That cannot be right. Shelby can't have…she can't have…" Cameron trailed off as he fought to keep his composure and Kimberly just shook her head. "How can you see how to save his son- but you couldn't see how to save Shelby?"

"I…I don't know," Kim whispered as the tears started for the both of them and she let out a long sigh. She had looked through her prophecies over and over, trying to see what she could have missed when it came to Shelby, but there was nothing. There were no indications in any of her prophecies that something was coming for Shelby. She had even sat down with Tommy and scoured Shelby's prophecies and there was nothing there as well. It had been a complete blind spot from everything they could review. "We know that I'm not alive in Thomas Trueheart's world. We know that Kimberly saw her own death…or at least I've seen him tell his son that she saw her own death and that he would have died to save her. I don't understand any more than you why we see things that we can't change. I do know that we have to warn him, somehow."

"He can't defeat Kiros," Tommy said as they all jerked around to face him. "If he was able to do it without dying- I'm sure that they would have let him get his revenge."

"No…" Kimberly whispered as Tommy just nodded. The realization had sunk in on what this meant for Tommy, on what this meant for them and she could not deal with that. "No."

"I don't think I'm going to have any control over it, Kimberly," Tommy said as he looked at the prophecy a bit more and avoided her gaze. "And I think…it's not just me that'll have to go."

"We can't leave our children…" Kim trailed off as she scanned the part of the prophecy he was looking at and her heart sank again. "Tommy…"

"I know how to defeat him. And I needed you the first time. I'd say it's safe to assume I'm going to need you every time. How much time does JJ have?" Tommy asked and Kim shrugged. Her prophecy hadn't been kind enough to give her details like that- only that Kiros had set his sights on JJ Trueheart. "Abdalon…is there any way for you to reach out to other Guardians?"

"In our history- there are records that indicate it has been done in the past, but it wasn't by a Guardian," Abdalon provided as he locked eyes with Kimberly and she groaned. "We haven't found any other prophets…it would be all on you to do it and the instructions are confusing, at best."

"We're going to try to help, right?" Julia asked as Kim and Tommy nodded. "Then what can we do to help the both of you?"

"Help? They didn't get the job done right the first time and Shelby is dead because of it," Cameron growled as they all looked over at him. "Why would we help?"

"Cam, it's not their fault," Axel said as Cameron spun on him and he held his hands up. "It's no one's fault, except Kiros. And he's gone in this world, but we know what he can do."

"She could have seen a way to save her!" Cameron yelled as he pointed at Kimberly and she pressed her lips together. She knew that this was a long time coming and she also knew that this wasn't how their prophecies worked. Cam knew that too, but the grief was riding him hard. "Shelby would still be here if she had seen things correctly."

"I can't control what I see and what I don't see. Neither could Shelby and we were only able to tell what world is ours after…I don't have anything that will comfort you. I do know that we have a chance to stop this from happening to others. Which means we will need you to guard Earth while we go to tackle this," Kim said as Cameron just shook his head. He had clutched to the fact that Kiros was never going to get to hurt anyone else and that had now been ripped from him. "Cam- I'm so sorry."

"Go to hell," Cameron muttered as he turned and stormed out of the Command Center. Kim and Tommy exchanged a glance before Tommy and Patrick moved to follow him. They could all see how much this was hurting him and they hoped there was a way that they could lessen his pain.

"I'm going to need those instructions," Kim stated as Abdalon nodded as he let out a sigh. He did not like what he was seeing with the rangers, but he also knew that grief did odd things to people. "I'll be okay. He's hurting and I don't…I can't say that Tommy would be taking it this well if I was gone."

"You're his soulmate though- that's different," Abdalon said as Kim shook her head. "How is that not different?"

"Because he never told her…he…" Julia trailed off as Abdalon looked over at her. "He doesn't know we know."

"He's their leader…we're going to need him…" Abdalon trailed off as Kim crossed her arms and glared at him. "What's that look for?"

"He has the right to grieve. I also…I don't know that he is their true leader," Kim muttered as she nodded towards Axel and Axel just shook his head. He most certainly did not want to be the leader of a ranger team. He was happy in his supporting role. "It's just a hunch. You…there are some scary similarities between you and Tommy. Tommy became our leader…when he…when he got his second set of powers. Look this is a lot for one night- all of you needed to know that Kiros is still alive. We're going to need Cam to come around, but I don't expect that to happen any time soon."
