"I normally wouldn't suggest this, but I think you should try throwing something in there."

Mario grabbed a shriveled Mushroom he had found first and tossed it in. It glew where the Mushroom landed and flew back out fully hydrated.

"Oh, it actually worked! All those ambushes were worth it then, huh?"

They had to fight off a few groups of Goombas on their way to the lake, along with fixing Non-bottomless holes. The trees were very grateful that Mario and Olivia had done that, but sadly informed them that some of the Goombas had run off with buckets of the lake water. Mario had also been rewarded with a collectible treasure of a Mushroom.

Mario tossed the Fire Flower in next, with the same result. "Great, I can use this!" He then tossed in the seed. The same happened to that as well.

"Great! We can head back to Grandsappy and-"

"AAAAAHHHHH!"

Olivia looked at the direction of the scream. "That doesn't sound good."

"That came from the direction Grandsappy's in!" Mario exclaimed.

"Oh no! I hope nothing bad happened to him! He was adorable!"

Mario hurried off in the direction of Grandsappy while still holding the Soul Seed. When they arrived in the clearing however...

There was a giant hole where his face should be.

"Aah! His adorable tree face is gone!"

Mario checked his confetti bag. "I'm not sure I'll have enough." He gave the trees a sad expression. "I'm sorry, but I'll have to hit you with my hammer..."

"Anything to help Old Grandsappy," the first tree said.

Mario used up the rest of his confetti supply, then a little more from the tree. Grandsappy's face re-appeared.

"Oh, you're okay!" Olivia said. "We got your seed!"

"Ah...Tank ya, laddie. If ya could pass tat to me please..."

Olivia placed the seed onto the old stump and backed away. A little sprout popped out of the stump where the seed was, which then spiraled out in a flash of bright light into a towering tree. Mario and Olivia looked up at his towering form. The three trees nearby lit up with excitement.

"Woah! You're so tall!" Olivia gasped.

"Tank you laddies! Ya helped restore teh life ta tese woods! Hows about I put on a concert for ya?"

"Sweet Sap Loggins has returned!" The three trees shouted in unison.

"Singin' Sap Sistas? Ya wanna help me cheer up these trees?"

"Yeah!"

"I appreciate the thought but we need to get to Toad Town now," Olivia explained. "You see, we're trying to stop my brother from folding the world into origami, but he may be up to something more if he had some of his Folded Soldiers steal some of the water from the Springs of Restoration."

"Ah, I see. Well then, laddie, ya must be headin' off! We can all wait 'till you return to sing for ya!"

"Thank you." She bowed to Sweet Sap Loggins and flew off.

"Olivia, wait!" Mario rushed after her, coming to a stop when he noticed Olivia was staring at something ahead. "Olivia, what's wrong?"

"I'm a Toad!"

Mario peeked around Olivia to find a red Toad crumpled up and shoved in a bush. "Mamma mia!"

"Toads look...different than what I was told..."

"Excuse-a me." Mario walked around Olivia over towards the bush and hammered it, freeing the Toad ball. He wacked at the Toad a few times to remove the creases.

"Thank you Mario!" He looked at Olivia. "And rude little girl."

Olivia looked sad. "I'm sorry, I didn't realize you had been crumpled! I was told that Toads are horrifying creatures that shouldn't be trusted. But you look cute!"

The Toad gave her a concerned look. "Anyways, there are a few Toads that were folded down that way! If you could help them, that would be great!"

"Great!"

"Let's-a go free more Toads!" Olivia cheered.
