The giant, sentient pair of scissors entered the room. It hopped over to Olly, who was sitting at a table with Princess Peach with tea cups and a plate of macaroons.
"King Olly, I think you should hear this news..."
"What is it, Scissors?" Olly took a bite out of a blue macaroon.
"Mario and Olivia have restored the tree's face and already freed a few Toads."
Olly started chocking on the macaroon. Peach went over to him and started patting him on the back. After he had recovered, he faced Scissors. "And Jean-Pierre Colored Pencils the twelfth isn't doing anything to stop them?"
"They have not yet arrived at the red streamer, my King." Scissors' gaze went over to Peach.
She was wearing a small blue hat with a white flower decoration on it, and a pink apron with a dark pink heart on the center of the chest area.
"Um...what is she wearing? What are you two doing?"
"That is none...none of your concern." Olly took another bite of the macaroon. "Next time you see Jean-Pierre Colored Pencils the twelfth, tell him that I quite enjoy his macaroons."
"He may die if he tries to fight off Mario, my King."
"Do you think I care?"
"Um..."
Olly gave him a sarcastic glance. "Is this the face of somebody who cares?"
"Yes?"
"I actually do care an awful lot. If he beats my Legion, he's become too powerful."
"P-pardon me?"
Olly shooed him away with his hand. "You may leave, Scissors. I have no need for you right now."
Olly watched Scissors leave, then faced back to Princess Peach.
"Peaches, what's your favorite color? I want to make sure our guest of honor is comfortable here and in our new castle."
"I like...pink...and the Toads...they are my people..."
"No!" Olly slammed his little triangle hands onto the table. "Not the Toads! They cannot be trusted."
"Toads...cannot be...trusted..."
Olly loosened up and smiled at her. "Very good, Peaches. You learn faster than my other Folded Soldiers."
"My King-" Scissors started.
"WHAT?!" He shouted, whipping his head around.
"Your minions have successfully acquired the water from the Springs of Restoration."
"Oh!" He calmed down again. "Send them in, please!"
Two Goombas waddled in with a bucket of water on both of their heads. They placed the buckets down and bowed.
"We got...the water...for you...my King..."
"That's wonderful! You may be promoted to General if you keep up this good work!"
"What about you...?" Peach asked finally. "What is your...favorite color...?"
"Hang on just a moment, I need to speak with Peaches." He faced Peach. "I happen to be a fan of the color purple, although yellow is fine as well." He faced back to the Goombas. "Let's try this water." He did grabby hands to the Goombas and they passed one of the buckets to him. He placed it on the table.
"Yay! I can restore myself to my peak figure!" He dipped the tea cup inside of it and scooped out the water with it. He took a sip of the water and waited. He looked at his body. His colors were still faded.
He faced the Goombas, furious. "It' didn't work!" He tossed the cup at one of them. "You are terrible soldiers!"
Scissors went over and patted Olly on the head consolingly with his sheathed blades. "My King, I do not think it is the water that heals, rather the earth around it."
Olly calmed down and placed the tea cup back on the table by floating it back up. "You're right...I overreacted. I should have expected this outcome." Olly crossed his arms.
Scissors resumed patting Olly's head. "There there, you need to not be so upset about little things such as this."
"Why do you need...to renew yourself...?" Peach asked.
Olly gave her a sad, yet gentle, smile. "Oh, dear Peaches. As you can tell, my colors are faded. I was left out in the sun before being folded and because of that, I lost my colors."
"That's terrible..."
"Yes, that's why those Toads are so heartless! He did it on purpose, using that faded paper! And then he decided to scribble on me...?"
"Writing on origami...is taboo..."
Olly sighed. "At least you understand. Olivia did not, and our creator didn't either."
"You didn't need...to trap her..."
Olly stared at the ground. "I know, but I do not wish to hurt her either! Unfortunately, the more she fights against me, the more I'll have to fight her..."
"Sir, sir!" A Koopa Troopa called, running into the room.
"What is it that you need to bother me at this time?"
"It's Mario!"
"Did he make it to the red streamer already?"
"No, he's saving every Toad he can! He's now just left the BBQ Food Eatery and is making his way to Toad Town as we speak!"
Olly faced Peach. "Oh dear, that's terrible. Peaches must be protected. Please bring her to the Safety Room."
"Sir, yes sir!" He saluted Olly and carefully led Peach away.
"Can I see?"
Scissors stared. "But of course."
"Fetch me the orb then."
"You mean the one you stole from that Magikoopa?"
"Yes, I had left it with you, remember?" Olly reminded him.
"Ah-right. My apologies, it had slipped my mind." Scissors left.
Olly kicked his feet. "They must be bluffing, Mario can't possibly be doing that. He shouldn't care about those Toads anymore than I do. Right? And if he is, how in the world did he start towards Toad Town so quickly?"
Scissors came back with the Seeing-eye Orb. "This?"
"Yes, yes." Olly did grabby hands again, and Scissors passed it over. Olly moved his hand over it and it showed Mario and Olivia leaving the woods. "No, they are already leaving!"
"This is bad indeed, I'm afraid."
"Don't fear, Scissors. My Paper Macho Goombas will be the death of them."
