Mario lie on the ground badly injured, but not dead. Olly floated above the two, staring down at the defeated hero.

"How pathetic. I didn't even need to use my new abilities I had learned."

"Olly, stop this! You're going through all of this for nothing! You'll just be beaten! The villain always does!"

"Villain? No, no. I am the hero of this story."

"Really? How? You almost killed Mario in like, three seconds! How is that hero-like?!"

Olly sighed lightly. "You're getting under my folds, but I guess I can explain it to you." He cleared his throat. "Ahem."

He held out his hands to Olivia as she kneeled over the unconscious Mario. A small origami green Toad appeared in his hands, along with a miniature Olly. The figures were alive-almost lifelike-but more like a moving pop-up book rather than having thoughts and feelings.

"You see, the Origami Craftsman read me stories to help me learn things such as right from wrong, and other such things."

The figures changed to the green Toad sitting on a chair reading a book to the little Olly. Olly seemed happy in the pop-up.

"One of the stories caught my attention. It was about Mario saving Princess Peaches from the evil King Bowser."

The figures fused together to form the unfolded version of Bowser holding a cage with the princess inside.

"He kept capturing Peaches over and over again as every time, Mario came to stop him."

An origami Mario stomped on the Bowser's head. The Bowser fell over in Olly's hands, and Mario freed Peach from her prison. Olivia watched in awe. She had never seen her brother do anything like that before, and it was nice seeing him so calm.

He was almost happy.

"It facinated me so much, in fact..." The king began.

The figures changed into an origami Mario floating in front of a small mirror, the green Toad behind him.

"I...tried to fold myself into Mario." Olly's face turned a bit red. "It...let's just say it didn't look very good. Like a cheap costume bought at a store."

Olivia giggled. "I didn't know you were such a dork, Olly."

"That's beside the point," he said, returning the subject back to his story. "You see, I wanted to be like Mario. I wanted to be a hero!" Olly's smile faded. "But then I learned what he did to me."

The figures faded to a darker color, almost black, as the Olly resumed floating in front of the mirror. The Toad was not visible anywhere.

"He had disrespected the beautiful craft of creation by scarring me like he had. I used that as fuel, along with their voices being annoying and the fact they get in Mario's way, to come up with my plan."

It showed Olly folding a Toad into a tulip. Scissors was now behind him, along with an origami Goomba and Koopa Troopa.

"You see, they always mess things up. They ruined me, they mess up Mario's rescue plans. So, I'll fold them into more useful things so they will no longer be a bother." Olly's smile returned and the colors faded back.

Although Olivia did not like his smile, she still felt a sense of peace from her brother being cheerful. She couldn't help herself, and a smile appeared on her face as well.

"But King Bowser was going to be an issue. He was the villain! He was evil. So, I folded him into practically nothing and made him watch as he was defeated once again."

It showed Olly folding a Ninji into origami in front of square Bowser's clothesline clip prison.

"I folded his followers so we could have people as loyal as his to help us in restoring the world to its former glory."

Olivia was unsure whether he was tricking her or not, but Olly's plan was starting to become agreeable. Except for one thing.

"Why did you fold Princess Peach then?"

"Oh, it was to protect her. I was afraid that she would see me as a villain for what I was doing to help."

"But-"

"I actually am helping her! She's perfectly safe in her bedroom in her castle being served by my bestest Folded Soldiers and Legion of Stationery! If I keep it up at this rate, she'll be spoiled rotten heheheh..."

"Olly! Don't joke about her like that!"

"Ahahaha! You know I'm not serious, so why are you acting that way?"

Olivia snickered. "Okay, maybe I AM being a little tense."

"You think? You're so stressed your hair will be grey by the time we meet again!"

"Shut up!" Olivia joked, shoving her brother slightly. "You're the one who is stressed out! I can see grey in your hair already!"

"Wait, really?!" Olly held out his bangs so he could see them, then gave Olivia a dirty look. "Oh, haha. Very funny."

"You forgot you were faded?"

"Yeah, yeah. Laugh it up all you want."

Olivia burst into laughter, laying on the ground and kicking her feet excitedly. Olly watched her amuse herself for a few minutes before she finally calmed down and sat back up.

"Hah...hah...Hey, why aren't you laughing?"

Olly sat down next to her and ran his hand through his bangs. "I...don't know how to be happy. I don't know how to feel anything except for anger and fear. How do you do it?"

Olivia stared at the ground for a moment and shrugged. "I don't know. My emotions come to me naturally. Maybe there is something in your mind blocking you off from yours?"

"Show me how to do it."

"Huh?"

Olly moved in front of her. "Show me emotions. I want to know what they feel like."

Olivia looked at Mario, then moved her hand in front of his mouth. "He's still breathing. You knocked him unconscious pretty badly."

"Oops..."

She smiled at her brother. "Alright, I'll show you a few." She pointed at her face. "This is happiness. It's fairly easy to do. Just think of things you like and you'll start smiling right away!"

"I like...origami! And I like you! And...ooh! I like Scissors too. He does an excellent job of protecting me!" Olly smiled. "He can be a bit...overprotective sometimes, but besides that he's great!"

"See? You're smiling right now! Good for you."

"Hm?" His smile faded, his angular eyes filled with confusion.

"There's another easy one. Being confused." She mimicked him, tilting her head the same direction he did. "Whenever you don't understand something, you're confused. Like you are now."

Olly straightened out again. "Ah. Then how come I cannot tell?"

"Let's try a different one then, and see if you can feel it this time."

Olly nodded. "Alright."

Olivia covered her mouth with her hands, and her eyes became larger.

"Mm..." Olly tilted his head again, trying to figure out what she was doing."

"It's shock," she explained, smiling at him once more. "It's when you find out something surprising or get scared by something."

Olly covered his mouth with his hands, much like she had. He jolted straight suddenly, causing his hair to fluff and his crown to become crooked. He also let out a small squeak when he had straightened out.

"Oh...he got that one so quickly! I'm so proud of him!" Olivia turned to find Mario standing up. "Oh! That's why-"

Mario rubbed his head. "Hey, Olivia. Did you watch me while I was-a knocked out?"

"Yeah, and I talked to-" Olivia turned to find Olly was gone. Her eyes gazed around for any sign of him, but nothing was left behind.

Upon further examination, she found they were outside of Overlook tower, the tower returned to its normal height.

"But how did we get here? And I didn't lower the..." She spotted a paper flutter past her in the breeze, and she grabbed it to prevent it from flying away. She turned it around and read it over.

"I really hate you for turning against me like you had...but I felt awful for leaving you two alone unconscious outside the Earth Vellumental's shrine. I took you to Overlook tower and lowered it for you so you could finish regenerating your energy. Don't expect me to do another favour like that again though. I would also appreciate it if you kept this quiet; I don't want Mario knowing about this.

"With best regards,

"King Olly."
