The cave was interesting. It seemed as if the Fire Vellumental was joking with them. In a long corridor of fire-breathing statues, a few either laughed or sneezed a tiny bit of fire at them. It was burning hot in there, which made sense.

They had reached the arena where the Fire Vellumental usually sat. The temperature spiked, Mario tugging at his shirt collar to get it to stop sticking to his skin from the sweat.

"Woah...No wonder Stephen didn't want to come in here. I'm going to burn to a crisp in this heat!"

"Hahaha! No you're not!"

Olivia's gaze moved to the ceiling high above them. "Do you see that?"

Mario looked up as well. There was, indeed, something up there; but Mario was completely unable to make it out. It was clearly red, or so he thought; as everything inside of the cave had been orange and red. It could have been a loose rock, but when it began moving in a circle near the tip of the ceiling, he definitely knew that was the thing they were looking for.

"Are you the Fire Vellumental?"

"I haven't gone by that name in a long time! The Ancient Ones named me Seraphina. What about you two? I've never seen mortals like YOU before!"

"Ooh, she's chatty! Did you get folded too?"

"Is that what he was doing here? King Olly came in here with somebody dressed in carnation pink! She was pretty, sometimes I wish I could see you silly mortals up close!"

"Oh, why don't you?"

"Because..." The happy tone in her voice diminished. "They don't like our kind. They say us Bibliofolds are dangerous creatures. They want my feathers for insulated jackets! What an insult!"

"That's-a horrible!" Mario agreed.

"Yeah! I'm a Vermillion, not a personal heater! I wish there were more of us."

"Do you know the other Vellumentals?"

"Of course! I can sense that you freed Big Brother Chikyū and Little Sister Lemon! You two seem nice, so I'm up here so I won't attack you."

"Why would you attack us? You seem really nice!" Olivia smiled.

"When I was folded, along with the other Bibliofolds, I lost control of myself. Ooh, I really hope Elder Brother Kōri can control his temper better than Lemon can. For being ice, he sure is the hothead!"

"The final Vellumental is ice? Where is he?"

"I...don't know, I'm sorry. None of us have been able to sense him ever since we were folded. I think he was the first to be folded though, I'm worried for him."

"Don't worry, Seraphina! We'll help you, then your brother."

"Thank you, Origami girl!"

"My name's Olivia, and Olly's my brother. We're also trying to stop him and we kind of need your power for that. Would you mind coming down here?"

"I-I don't want to! I don't want to hurt you two. You're the nicest mortals I've ever met! But...if you really need my help then I'll come down. I'm sorry in advance if you get burned."

"We have Mario, we'll be fine!"

"...Okay then."

Seraphina flapped down to them and shook her head feathers. Olivia stared in awe at the towering form of the Vermillion, and her beautiful, blazing, orange feathers.

"Woah! How's she not burning up? That's so cool!...And hot! She made it way hotter down here. Alright Mario, she's fire right? Then we need to find one of Chikyū's Magic Circles and put her out! I'll find it, just worry about her, okay?"

Mario held out his Shiny Hammer. His normal Hammer would burn to a crisp, and he couldn't let that happen. She spun, charging towards him. He whacked the side of her head with his hammer, her neck folding the direction it was forced.

"Mamma mia! I just-a broke her neck!"

She shook her head again, the folds returning to normal. She cawed loudly, fire engulfing nearly the entirety of the ground.

"Mario? That doesn't look good!"

"Just-a go back to finding a Magic Circle, Olivia! I've-a got this!"

"Okay, just don't get burned!"

Mario mouthed 'bring your worst' and readied himself. She swiped one of her wings at him, the feathers flying off and thudding into the floor. Mario moved his foot away from one of the flaming feathers. She cawed angrily and repeated the attack. Mario was forced to flee the circle of molten feathers by running through them. He pat out the flames and faced her again.

"Ice Flower, don't-a fail me now!" He grabbed an Ice Flower from his pocket and clapped it in his hands. The red changed to light blue, and the overalls turned red. "Wahoo!"

"Wow! That's so cool!" Olivia snickered at her own joke. "I didn't know you could do that, Mario!"

"Magic-a Circle," he reminded.

"Oh! Right!"

Mario tossed a large ice ball at her face, receiving an irritated caw in return. She flew at him as he tossed another one. She dodged the third one, and broke the fourth with her beak. She cawed and exhaled fire at Mario. The fire came in contact with him, melting away his power-up.

"Mario, I can't find one, but I did find a 1,000-Fold Arms Magic Circle!"

"We'll just have to-a put her out ourselves then!" He jumped as she swooped for him again and hammered her head.

She was thrown off course and crashed into the ground. She let out a small caw and attempted to pull her head from the floor. Mario used another Ice Flower and tossed two ice balls at the flames on her tail. She screeched when the flames were put out from the melted water from the ice. She shook the dirt off her head and angrily cawed in Mario's face. He attempted to toss one at her head feathers, but she grabbed it with her beak and crushed it. He jumped over her charge, landing on her burning hot back.

"Ah, ah! Hot! HOT!" He hopped from foot to foot to prevent his feet from burning. He turned whilst doing so and aimed for the feathers on her head. "Let's-a go!" He tossed an ice ball at them, and another for good measure.

She screeched and crash-landed. Mario hopped off of her as her flames died down. Mario landed on the Magic Circle and reached for her head feathers. He grabbed them after the fire died and, using all his strength, plucked the feathers out. She became a conflagration, and was gone when the fire died down. Her Magic Circle appeared where the scorched ground of her inferno lie.

"We did it!" Olivia cheered. "I'm glad she can be free now."

"She'll come back," Mario said. "She IS a Phoenix-a after all."

"Actually, she said she was a Vermillion! That's a completely different thing." She went over to the book. "Ooh, this one's the most complicated yet! The combination of mountain and valley folds along with the seemingly impossible fireproofing is impressive!" She watched the energy flow into the Magic Circle. "Let's make Seraphina proud and make this look super awesome, okay?"

She folded into the Fire Vellumental, staying airborne above Mario, the giant bird casting a shadow double the size.

"Wow! You know that burning feeling you get when you're nervous? Well, mine turned from that to feeling like it's on fire!"

"Wowie! That's-a really impressive, Olivia! It's the best one-a yet!"

"Uh, thanks but I feel like my throat is burning!" She coughed up smoke and breathed fire on the oil-covered stairs ahead of them.

The oil burned away and the statues that were spilling it on the steps began breathing fire instead. When she finished, Olivia did a twirl higher to the ceiling, barely grazing it with her head feathers.

"Yeah-heah!"

She dived back towards the arena, gliding over Mario's head. She did one final twirl in the sky and spread her wings as far as they could, the torch light flickering her shadow onto the walls around the circular room. She flew back down.

She was now flapping her tiny arms, face red, in front of Mario. "How did THAT look? Cool, I bet!" She stopped flapping and looked at the steps. "We can leave now! Yay!"

Mario was awestruck. Olivia was having so much fun and looked majestic doing so. Bobby would have been in love even more than he already was.

"Let's get to the streamer, Mario."
