SALVATORE BOARDING HOUSE
It was just about six-fifteen in the morning when Emily found herself sitting at the large, antique dinning room table in the boarding house with her best friend, Bonnie, and the Gilbert family's lawyer, Mr. Roger Henry, while the vampires stood outside waiting for their invitation. The Salvatore brothers and the Gilbert vampire wanted to have their own safe house in order like Isobel had as soon as possible for the human girl as they didn't know when Klaus would show up.
Emily didn't exactly like this idea but she decided to just humor her family and friends that only want to protect her as her plan A was currently lying dead in the basement of the boarding house. The human girl just had to wait for the right opportunity when everyone would be distracted by Klaus to wake the original and continue with the centuries old plan. So, for now, Emily would gladly follow along with her family and friends' plan if it meant protecting them in the end.
"Please sign here, Ms. Gilbert," the lawyer, Mr. Henry, requested as he pointed towards three bright yellow arrows on the first page of the deed for the Salvatore boarding house before he handed the blue pen to the young girl.
Emily jumped out of her thoughts about the incoming doom for Mystic Falls and gave the lawyer a small smile before she grabbed the pen. "Alright, let's do this," the Gilbert girl mumbled, mostly to herself, as she scanned through all the words that she didn't really understand before she signed her name and her initials on the correct spots that Mr. Henry showed her.
"So, this place is all yours?" The Bennett witch curiously inquired as she watched as the lawyer flipped to the second page and silently directed the human girl to the next set of arrows, "they just gave it to you?"
Emily briefly glanced her green eyes up to her best friend, who was sitting across from her before she shrugged her shoulders and quickly added her next signature and initials. "Well, basically," the Gilbert girl began to answer Bonnie's question as she looked for her next arrow before she secretly told the brunette girl so she didn't say anything about the supernatural in front of the lawyer, "it's just a safe house until this is all over so I'll be in charge of the type of people that can be invited in."
Bonnie twitched her head to the side as she thought over the brunette girl's words for a moment before she slowly nodded her head. "It's not a bad idea," the Bennett witch commented as she realized that Emily would be the only one to invite vampires inside the boarding house unlike at the Gilbert house, where a vampire could somehow compel Jenna or Jeremy if they weren't careful.
"Well, you can thank Isobel for that," Emily mumbled as she continued to add her name on the ten thousandth page for ownership of the Salvatore boarding house. The Gilbert girl glanced up at Bonnie as she explained what Isobel had told her about when she was still alive, "it's what she had originally tried to get Elena and I to agree to but I couldn't trust that woman as far as I could throw her." Emily shot her witch friend a small smile before she stated with a hint of humor in her voice, "so, at least this time, I have my own personal bodyguards to keep me safe."
Bonnie gave the human girl a small smile as she understood completely why they would sign the boarding house over to Emily as it was their safest option until the hybrid shows his face and they can finally end all of this. The Bennett witch then silently glanced around the large boarding house before she mumbled, "I wouldn't want to clean it."
The Bennett witch and the Gilbert girl both immediately let out a loud chuckle as they both looked around the boarding house at the thought of cleaning the place before Emily quickly shook her head. "Oh, trust me," Emily exclaimed before she joked with a small smirk, "I'm definitely getting a maid to shine this place up." There was no way in hell that one person could clean this place unless they are a vampire, Emily thought to herself before she swiftly turned her attention back to the lawyer when Mr. Henry began to direct her to the next page.
Meanwhile, outside of the boarding house on the large porch stood the Salvatore brothers and the Gilbert vampire as they all watched from their vantage point at the very edge of the front door, the farthest that they could go before they would be stopped by the invisible wall, as the human girl signed the many documents for her personal safe house away from the hybrid.
"Do you really think Bonnie can take on Klaus?" The pacing and older Salvatore vampire interrogated as he broke the silence on the porch. Damon was very wary of this plan that the Bennett witch had begun to tell them about before the lawyer had showed up. He just didn't like the idea of trusting the witch with his girlfriend's sister's life as they were only going to have one shot at this with the dangerous hybrid.
Stefan lightly shook his head and stated, "she said she could channel enough witches' power to kill him." Unlike his brother, Stefan trusted Bonnie but he was still nervous about it, though. This wasn't an easy situation for him as he didn't even like it when someone besides himself had to keep the human girl safe like when Jonas was after her. Stefan would rather be the one protecting Emily as he would rather give up his life to keep her safe and alive.
"Well, Elijah thought it would work against Klaus," Elena mumbled with her arms crossed over her chest while she glanced between the two brothers. The Gilbert vampire lightly shrugged her shoulders as she added with a hint of doubt in her voice, "he was an original, so he must have figured it out." Elena wasn't exactly believing the words coming out of her mouth as she didn't really trust Elijah with her sister's life but the only thing she could do at the moment was believe that Bonnie could do this as Elena couldn't even begin to think about losing her twin sister.
Damon silently nodded his head as he tossed his arm lazily over his girlfriend's shoulder. "We just need to find him," the older vampire mumbled as they couldn't exactly do anything until Klaus showed his face and tried something since no one alive, besides Katherine, has any idea what the hybrid looks like.
"Yeah," Stefan murmured with sadness in his voice while he kept his green eyes locked on his brunette beauty, who was sharing a laugh with the Bennett witch, through his position against the door frame. The Salvatore vampire felt like it had always been his duty to keep Emily safe and now he felt like he was failing her since he couldn't even help her right now. It was just so frustrating for the younger Salvatore.
"Do you think Bon could track him?" Elena wondered as she anxiously picked at her nails after a moment of silence had settled on the front porch of the Salvatore boarding house as she tried to think of a way so that they could find Klaus and save her sister's life. The Gilbert vampire then quickly glanced between the two brothers before she explained her idea, "you know, like when Bonnie had to find Emily when Rose kidnapped her."
Stefan instantly shook his head at the young vampire's idea before he mumbled with the same sadness in his voice, "nope." The younger Salvatore let out a heavy sigh before he glanced over to Elena and told his girlfriend's sister why that wouldn't work, "Bonnie would need something personal to Klaus like when Bonnie had used Jeremy's blood to find Emily." Stefan had asked Bonnie that same question as soon as she had arrived but, sadly, it was a wasted attempt since no one had anything that belongs to the hybrid.
The Gilbert vampire released a heavy groan as she threw her hands up into the air in exhaustion as she felt helpless to her twin sister, who had protected her since they were born. Elena hated not being able to do anything for Emily as the green eyed girl had always been able to help her with every single thing. "I hate this," Elena mumbled as she slumped against Damon's chest with the same sadness that Stefan was visibly showing on his face.
The porch of the Salvatore boarding house was silent for a couple of minutes as Damon silently comforted his girlfriend with his arms wrapped around Elena's shoulder from behind and while Stefan continued to stare across at his girlfriend inside of the house until the older Salvatore interrupted the silence. "Do you think he killed her?" Damon curiously wondered as he remembered the news they had found out from the human girl that Klaus had taken the Petrova vampire.
Stefan took his green eyes off of his girlfriend and glanced over to his brother with his brows furrowed as he didn't exactly knew who Damon was talking about. "Katherine?" The younger Salvatore inquired as he figured that was the only person that Damon could be mentioning since no else had died or gone missing since Isobel. The green eyed vampire then lightly shrugged his shoulders before he turned his gaze back onto Emily as he muttered, "probably." If anything Katherine or Rose had told them about Klaus was true, then there was a huge percentage that Klaus finally killed the Petrova vampire.
"I hope so," the Gilbert vampire couldn't help but exclaim with a roll of her brown eyes. Elena had never liked Katherine ever since she had shown her face in Mystic Falls and Elena definitely hated her ancestor even more when Katherine had gotten close to her twin sister. Elena knew it had been jealousy, but Katherine was only causing them all problems, so she would say it is a win that Klaus finally has her.
"Thank you for coming by this morning, Mr. Henry," the calm and sweet voice of the human girl caught the attention of the three vampires before they saw Emily walk the older man outside of the boarding house. Emily then shook the lawyer's hand once he turned and faced her before she politely told him, "have a nice day, Mr. Henry."
The Gilbert girl watched and waited until the older man walked to his simple and black Honda before she turned her attention on the three vampires. Emily couldn't help but let out an amused chuckle when all of the supernatural beings stood in front of the doorway with a mixture of waiting and impatient expressions. "Oh, my bad, guys," the human girl mumbled with a bright smirk across her face as she was going to enjoy her fun of owning the Salvatore boarding house.
Emily watched the faces of the vampires for a few short minutes as she waited for one of them to finally explode before she decided to end their torment when she could basically see the steam coming from Damon's ears while her sister and boyfriend both just looked amused. The human girl then turned her attention solely on her twin sister before she exclaimed with a large grin, "dear sister, please come into my castle."
The Gilbert vampire let out a low chuckle as she knew what her sister was doing and squeezed Damon's shoulder to hopefully keep him calm through Emily's game before she finally stepped over the threshold and into the newly owned boarding house. "Thank you, dear twin," Elena praised and placed a thankful kiss onto Emily's cheek before she headed further into the foyer to watch the amusing show.
Once Emily saw her twin sister walk passed her, she turned her attention back onto the front door and to the Salvatore brothers. The human girl then focused onto the younger brother with a smile shining across her pink lips before she held out her hand and exclaimed in the same manner that she had used with her twin sister, "Mr. Salvatore, it would be my greatest honor for the king to join the queen's castle."
The younger Salvatore couldn't help but shake his head with a loud and an amused chuckle before he crossed over the threshold and placed his hand into Emily's awaiting one. "The honor would be all mine, Your Majesty," Stefan exclaimed before he squeezed Emily's hand and swiftly twirled her around until she was pressed against his chest. The Salvatore vampire stared deeply into the human girl's green eyes with happiness for the first time all day before he pulled her into a passionate kiss.
"Any day now, Stefan," the grumpy and older Salvatore growled while he tapped his black boots against the wood from the front porch in annoyance because he wasn't inside his house yet while his brother was being all lovey dovey with the human girl. "Let's go, Gilbert," Damon commanded as he crossed his arms over his chest before he muttered, "I don't have all day."
Emily placed one last kiss onto Stefan's lips as she could tell Damon was getting pissed before she faced the lone vampire that had yet to be invited in. "I pretty sure you do have all day with being immortal in all," the human girl uttered with a smirk as she leaned the side of her body on the door.
"Oh, my God!" Damon loudly groaned as he tossed his head towards the ceiling of the porch. "Just let me in, dammit!" The older Salvatore commanded as he just wanted a glass of bourbon and his girlfriend by his side right about now. Damon did not like these games when he couldn't even counter them while being stuck outside like this.
Emily innocently showed the older vampire her hands with a chuckle before she stood up straight and looked directly into Damon's blue eyes. "You can enter but as soon as you answer this question," the human told the vampire before she inquired, once she saw Damon roll his blue irises, "do we still have a deal?"
Damon raised his left eyebrow at the human girl before he inquired with a twitch of his head, "what deal?" The older Salvatore then shot Emily a smirk before he exclaimed by using the Gilbert girl's own words against her, "I've made a lot of deals in my very immortal life."
"That there will be no more secrets between everyone," Emily explained with an eye roll at the fact that Damon was playing dumb right now. "We all promised that there will be no more lies or secrets." The human girl then pointed at the vampire with a deadly serious expression before she stated, "if there are more lies involved, I will gladly turn myself over to Klaus because I will not put anyone I love in anymore dangerous. Got it?"
The older Salvatore rolled his blue eyes, once again, when he heard the human girl's threat along with his brother's and girlfriend's command for him to just agree as they all didn't want the doppelganger to get back into these ideas of turning herself over to Klaus again when they finally got her to fight for her life. "Fine," Damon finally grumbled before he held up his right hand like he was being sworn into court and told Emily in an emotionless voice, "I swear to tell the queen whatever she wants." The older vampire then rose an eyebrow at the human girl before he interrogated, "are we done now?"
Emily glanced up towards the ceiling of the foyer like she was thinking over the question while she enjoyed the minutes that she had being in charge of Damon before she looked back at the aforementioned Salvatore and mumbled with a false heavy sigh, "I guess that will do." The Gilbert girl then shot Damon a small smirk before she held out her hand towards the boarding house and exclaimed, "please, Damon, come into my castle."
The older Salvatore grumbled under his breath about how it might have been a bad idea to let the human girl be in charge of his home before he finally entered the boarding house. Damon walked past the grinning Emily once he stepped over the threshold and told his also grinning brother, "shut up." The blue eyed vampire then silently walked into his girlfriend's waiting arms that held a glass of bourbon just like he wanted before he began to lead Elena towards the living room with the other couple laughing behind them.
However, before the human girl could reach the living room, she spotted Bonnie walking down the stairs. "Oh, hey," Emily called out before she asked the Bennett witch, "did you find that grey sweater that'll go with your top?" The Gilbert girl had told her best friend about the sweater while she was signing the deed to the boarding house after Bonnie had mentioned that she had forgotten her jacket at home.
The Bennett witch nodded her head as she moved the items in her hand before she gave Emily the black leather jacket that she had requested to go with her black crop top and an off-white floral skirt with red and pink flowers along with a medium sized black side purse. Bonnie then pulled out the grey sweater from her bag before she slipped it over her shoulder and told the human girl, "thank you for this. I'll give it back to you before school ends."
Emily instantly shook her head as she lightly waved her hand with a small smile. "Keep it. I probably have multiple ones at home," the human girl told the Bennett witch as she probably did. Emily had lost count of the many clothes that were in her closest at the Gilbert house and the large collection that she now has at the boarding house. The Gilbert girl then waited until Bonnie had the sweater on before she wondered, "you ready to go?"
The Bennett witch nodded her head before she looped her arm with Emily's so they could leave like they had planned when the lawyer was still here. However, before the two girls could get farther than three steps towards the door, the confused voice of the younger Salvatore inquired, "wait, where are you going?"
The human girl rose an eyebrow at her obviously puzzled boyfriend before she simply stated, "school." Emily then placed her hand onto her hip as she joked with amusement shining throughout her green eyes, "you know, that place where we go every week with all the books and teachers."
The younger Salvatore vampire's green eyes almost popped out of his head as he took a step towards his girlfriend and the witch before he asked as he wanted to make sure that he was hearing Emily right, "huh? What did you say?" There is no way in hell Emily is actually thinking about going to school when they just learned that Klaus is here in town, Stefan thought.
"Oh, no, no, no," the older Salvatore immediately exclaimed while he glared at the human girl. "We did not just create this safe house for you and I did not just get played with while outside of my own damn home for nothing," Damon growled as he couldn't believe that they set this all up just for the doppelganger to go out around town when Klaus could be anywhere right now.
The Gilbert vampire bit down on her bottom lip as she stared at her twin sister while she thought of both sides' argument before she walked up to Emily. "I don't think this is a good idea, Emmie," the brown eyed vampire mumbled as she shook her head, "you should just skip school until we deal with this." Elena didn't like the idea of her twin sister leaving her safe house when Klaus could just come up and grab her. They had to keep their guard up now that Klaus is in Mystic Falls and going to school was definitely not going to help with trying to keep the human girl safe.
Stefan quickly nodded his head as he agreed with his brother and his brother's girlfriend before he faced his own girlfriend and the Bennett witch. "Yeah, guys," the younger Salvatore began as he slowly stepped towards the two brunettes before he stated something that they all knew but apparently needed to be reminded about, "Klaus is out there."
Emily took a quick glance over at the Bennett witch as they had a conversation like this one when Bonnie had showed up this morning, where they decided it to would be good for the human girl to go to school. "Exactly!" Emily exclaimed with a sigh as she glanced at the three vampires before she uttered, "come on, guys. You said it yourselves this morning. We can't do anything when we don't even know what Klaus looks like and I will not hide away." The human girl shrugged her shoulders like she was indifferent to the hybrid before she stated, "if he wants me, he can come and try but I'm not going to cower away like some scared girl."
The three vampires silently glanced at one another for a moment before Elena walked closer towards her twin sister and mumbled, "well, it looks like we aren't changing your mind." The Gilbert vampire then let out another sigh before she stated, "if you're going to school then I'm coming. You're not leaving my sight no matter what." Elena didn't care if she was being overbearing or what, but she wasn't going to let her go to school when there could be a sneak attack or trick from the hybrid. Elena would rather fight right next to her sister.
"Don't worry," the Bennett witch assured the vampires as she squeezed Elena's hand and she shot the two Salvatore vampires a confident look, "I'm ready." Bonnie then glanced over to the human girl as she also assured the doppelganger that was currently the target as she promised, "if he shows his face, I can take him."
Emily shot her witch friend a bright smile before she turned towards the vampires with a smirk as she stated, "there! Problem solved." The Gilbert girl then glanced between her sister and best friend before she continued with a light shrug, "I have the strongest witch in Mystic Falls and my protective vampire sister by my side, so I think I'll be just fine."
Stefan couldn't help but shake his head at his stubborn but strong girlfriend. He hated that Emily wasn't scared like everyone else about the fact that Klaus is actually here in Mystic Falls. It terrifies him every time he thinks about it. So like the Gilbert vampire, Stefan didn't plan to let the human girl out of his sights until Bonnie could get rid of the hybrid for good. "You'll have two protective vampires on your side," Stefan corrected the human girl and pulled her into a light kiss before he slug his arm over her shoulder and pulled Emily tightly into his chest before they began to exit out of the Salvatore boarding house with the Gilbert vampire and the Bennett witch following quickly behind with only one mission in mind - keeping the human doppelganger alive.
MYSTIC FALLS HIGH SCHOOL
Emily had made her way through her first three classes with no problems and a bodyguard in the form of her best friend, sister, or boyfriend always by her side without any clue that Klaus was following her or was planning an attack, so now Emily was currently in her favorite and easiest class of the day; history. The human girl only really liked it because she didn't have to do much work when she's close friends with the teacher.
The Gilbert girl was sitting in the middle of the classroom like she usually would with Stefan sitting directly behind her, with Elena on her left, and Bonnie on her right like her own personal protective bubble as she waited for the vampire hunter to arrive. Emily furrowed her brows as she clicked her pen on the wood of her desk while she stared at the clock above the chalkboard that showed class should have started thirty-two minutes ago as Alaric is never this late. The human girl then quickly pushed that thought away about the vampire hunter's abnormal behavior when she felt Bonnie tap her on her arm from the right side of her.
Emily glanced over to the Bennett witch, where she instantly noticed Bonnie waving around a piece of paper with a wide grin across her face. The human girl studied the bright-colored paper for a moment before she finally realized what it was; a flyer for the 60's Decade Dance. Emily honestly hadn't been involved in this month's school dance since they've been dealing with all the Klaus drama, so she had left that to her co-captain and blonde best friend; Caroline Forbes.
"Oh, we are definitely going," the human girl affirmed what the Bennett witch was obviously thinking. There was no one Emily was going to miss out on her first decade dance just because someone was trying to sacrifice her. It may seem like the perfect excuse for anyone else to miss the dance but not for Emily, so she grabbed the flyer out of Bonnie's awaiting hand and showed it to her twin sister as she knew Elena would agree. She and Elena had always loved going to the dances since they were children and no hybrid was going to change that.
The Gilbert vampire instantly grinned that matched the ones on her sister's and her best friend's faces once she saw what Emily was holding before she quickly nodded her head like the human girl knew she would. Elena knew that a dance right now probably wasn't the right thing to do when they are trying to keep Emily alive but after the half day of protecting her twin sister and keeping Emily in her sights, Elena felt like there would not be any safer place for the human girl than at a dance surrounded by four supernatural beings or five if she could convince Damon to come as well.
The three girls all shared another round of bright smiles as they glanced at one another from their diagonal row of desks before the human girl turned around in her seat and faced her boyfriend. Emily then brought the flyer for the 60's Decade Dance in front of Stefan's green eyes and shook the piece of paper with a large grin shining across her lips. The human girl figured it was the perfect time to relax with the Salvatore vampire since they never even had an official date when they are always so busy when all the supernatural problems in Mystic Falls.
The Salvatore vampire shook his head with a small smile peaking on his lips before he moved the single piece of paper that was between him and the human girl. Stefan then leaned across his desk until he was only centimeters from Emily's mouth and whispered, "not a chance," before he placed a soft kiss onto her lips and pulled away with a teasing grin.
Emily immediately let out a loud groan while she ignored all the looks from her fellow classmates before she pouted, "oh, come on, babe!" The human girl then put on her best puppy dog voice as she linked her fingers with the Salvatore vampire's before she mumbled with false sadness in her voice, "I just wanna see my handsome boyfriend's dancing skills."
Stefan let out a small chuckle at the way the human girl was trying to bate him into going to the dance. He hated and loved that he could fall under her green eyes just like that and that was exactly what was happening. "We'll see," the Salvatore vampire told Emily as he watched her pout as he, of course, couldn't deny something that would make the brunette girl so happy, so he settled on an in-between answer.
Emily pointed at her boyfriend and mumbled, "we're going, Mr. Salvatore." The human girl was not going to miss the opportunity to have fun during their crazed filled lives. It would be the perfect way for everyone to relax and have fun before Klaus would finally show himself - whenever that would be.
"Hello, class," the hybrid in the history teacher's body announced once he finally walked into the classroom before he headed towards his desk and picked up a green notebook. Klaus/Alaric flipped through the pages with his brows furrowed as he tried to see what the hell he was supposed to teach about. However, Klaus/Alaric got bored after a minute or two, so he addressed the room of teenagers again as he asked, "what are we learning today?"
The history classroom was silent for a few minutes as Klaus/Alaric continued to flip through the notebook as he tried to find any type of answer from the vampire hunter's chicken scratch writing before the brunette teenager in the front row, Dana Johnson, saved Klaus/Alaric and explained to, who she thought, was her normal teacher, "with the decade dance tonight, we've been covering the sixties all week."
A large grin spread across the hybrid in the history teacher's body and stated, "right," before he slammed the notebook shut thanks to the teenager's help. The hybrid then stood there for a moment as he tried to remember any important details for that decade as he mumbled to himself, "the sixties." Klaus/Alaric glanced around the room of students while he thought before he noticed two familiar faces from his past. However, the hybrid focused his blue eyes solely onto the girl with the bright green eyes as he knew that was the right and human doppelganger - thanks to the information Isobel had gave him.
Klaus/Alaric then quickly shook his head and faced the black board when he noticed the human girl's furrowed brows staring at him and he knew that he needed to keep his cover for now. So, the history teacher picked up a piece of chalk and awkwardly cleared his throat before he mumbled, "the, uh, the sixties." Klaus/Alaric let out a small chuckle as he wrote 'the 60's,' on the messy board before he mumbled to himself, "I wish there was something good I could say about this decade, but..." He then faced the classroom with a small grin as he exclaimed, "actually, they kind of sucked."
Klaus/Alaric walked around the wooden desk as he racked his brain for details about that boring decade before he stated while he pointed towards the teenage students, "except for The Beatles, of course. They made it bearable." The history teacher then let out a loud huff before he continued, "uh, what else was there?" The hybrid in the hunter's body screwed up this face in disgust as he listed off, "there was the Cuban Missile thing, the... we walked on the moon. There was also Watergate."
"Watergate was the seventies, Ric," the Gilbert vampire immediately interrupted her history teacher with a smile shining across her lips. However, though, when Alaric turned and faced her with an unreadable expression and everyone in the classroom all turned and looked at her, Elena quickly and awkwardly corrected herself, "I-I mean, Mr. Saltzman."
Emily playfully rolled her green eyes at her twin sister, who was still scared to call their friend by his first name - unlike the human girl, who does it every time that she addresses her history teacher like it was her normal thing. It sort of was now since none of her fellow students ever looked at her when she did as they were all used to it. "The sixties were about The Vietnam War, Civil Rights Protests, along with the assassinations of JFK and MLK," Emily corrected her history teacher after Elena had hit her shoulder and she faced the front again. The human girl shot the man a small smirk before she joked, "come on, Ric. I thought you were the history teacher here."
The whole classroom filled with teenagers all laughed at the usual sass from the older Gilbert sister before Klaus/Alaric muttered with his own smile, "right." The history teacher shook his head before he pointed towards his brain as he joked, "it all kind of mushes up together up here - the sixties and the seventies." Klaus/Alaric then glanced between the two doppelgangers from his past with a secret smirk and a hint of hunger in his blue eyes at the fact that the human sister would be the cure to his freedom before he praised them, "thank you, Elena, Emily."
The blaring bell for the end of fourth period instantly rang loudly before anymore words could be spoken from the hybrid in the history teacher's skin or from either of the Petrova doppelgangers - which Klaus was extremely grateful for as he did not want to talk about the sixties any longer than he had to. Klaus/Alaric then let out a silent sigh as he took a seat at the edge of the wooden desk before he silently watched his doppelganger walk away with the witch, the sister, and the boyfriend. You'll be mine soon enough, the hybrid thought with a smirk proudly displayed across his lips.
Meanwhile, in the crowded hallway of Mystic Falls High School, while the hybrid dreamed about his wolf finally waking up, the Gilbert sisters, the Salvatore vampire, and the Bennett witch all walked together as they headed for lunch before the human girl instantly remembered something. "Ah, crap," Emily mumbled before she stopped - which instantly caused the three supernatural beings to protectively stand around her. The human girl then moved the set of books around in her hand before she found the one that she had to return before she glanced up at her bodyguards and told them with an assuring smile, "I need to do something real quick, so I'll meet you guys in the cafeteria."
However, Emily didn't get the answer that she had expected as the three supernatural beings immediately shook their heads in unison as they were not on board with that plan. The human girl then got three different voices telling her three different things in the order of her boyfriend, twin sister, and best friend, "that wasn't the deal, Emmie,", "I told you I wouldn't be leaving your side today," and, "hell no you're not."
A loud groan escaped the human girl's mouth as she realized that they were serious about never leaving her side while out in Mystic Falls. At least I'm not stuck at the boarding house, Emily reminded herself as she would rather have a bodyguard than be on lock down. So, instead of getting mad about it, Emily just let out a small sigh before she glanced at the three supernatural beings and wondered with a raised eyebrow, "fine, but who's coming with me to drop off my book?"
It barely took half of a second after the doppelganger uttered the last syllable in her sentence before Emily got an answer to which of her three bodyguards would be joining her to the library. However, instead of just one voice, the human girl got two as the Salvatore vampire and the Gilbert both stated at the exact same time, "I will."
The Bennett witch shook her head with a small chuckle as she glanced between the twin sisters and the younger Salvatore with amusement in her brown eyes. "I'll let you handle that," Bonnie joked as she shot the human girl a small smile and promised, "I'll save you guys a seat," before she turned around and headed towards the cafeteria like all the other students.
The human girl playfully rolled her green eyes at her best friend, who left her with the two very protective vampires, before she turned and faced the two aforementioned supernatural beings after she watched Bonnie walk around the corner. Emily then held out both of her arms before she asked with a cheeky grin, "shall we?"
The Gilbert vampire immediately grinned right back at her twin sister before she looped her arm through Emily's awaiting one and uttered, "we shall." Elena was glad to have these short moments with the human girl, where they could just be normal for once. They rarely got to be normal teenagers lately, so Elena always savored these moments with her twin sister as much as she could.
The Gilbert twins then looked over at the Salvatore vampire once they were connected at their arms with an identical look as that had their right eyebrows raised while they waited for Stefan to join them. The aforementioned Salvatore vampire couldn't help but shake his head in amusement at the two girls before he finally linked his arm with his girlfriend's after he couldn't deny her puppy dog eyes and they all began to head towards the library at the end of the hallway.
The two vampires and the human girl tried to maneuver their way through the students that were going the opposite direction for a few minutes before they finally reached the library. Emily then quickly placed the biology book that she had borrowed into the small slot for returning books before she rejoined her sister and boyfriend, where they turned around and headed towards the cafeteria.
"I can't wait for tonight," the Gilbert vampire was the first one to speak while they walked down the empty hallway as she excitedly gushed over the Decade Dance. "It's been so long since we've actually gone to one," Elena mumbled as the last one that they went to was the fifties dance and they didn't exactly get to have fun since that vampire, who had been obsessed with Katherine, had tried to hurt them.
Emily shot her twin sister an equally excited grin before she exclaimed, "we are going have a groovy time!" The human girl then swiftly grabbed Elena's hand and twirled her around through the empty hallway before they began to dance together. The Gilbert sisters both began to laugh together before they glanced at one another and thought about the same thing before they instantly did the famous sixties dance; the mashed potato.
Stefan shook his head with a small chuckle as he watched the two sisters do several of the dances that he remembered back from the sixties like the swim, the twist, and even the frug. "When did you have time to learn all these dances?" The Salvatore vampire curiously wondered once the Gilbert siblings finally stopped dancing and began to walk normally down the hallway to the cafeteria.
"Well, whenever there is a decade dance, Caroline and I make sure to go over them with the cheerleading squad since we are all apart of the planning committee," Emily easily explained how she knew about the dances from the sixties, "and since we usually have the help of the other Mystic Falls sports teams, some people are left over, so the rest of the people go around to classes and teaches some of the dances since the teachers are only teaching about that certain decade all week long."
Stefan silently nodded his head in understanding as he had noticed some of the students from the cheerleading team hadn't been in his classes for a while before he raised a teasing eyebrow at his girlfriend. "Oh, really?" The Salvatore vampire inquired before he wondered with a small, amused smile playing on his lips, "so, you know about every dance there was in the decade you weren't even alive for?"
The Gilbert vampire immediately released a loud groan as she glanced between her twin sister and the Salvatore vampire. "Bad move, Stefan, bad move," Elena mumbled with a shake of her head as she knew how competitive Emily was about to get. It was the reason why Elena steered clear from dancing unlike her twin sister, who used to love to make it a game when they used to take dance class as children.
Emily puffed out her chest with confidence at the challenge from the vampire before she exclaimed, "you bet your sweet ass I do, Mr. Salvatore." The human girl then glanced up and over at her boyfriend with a raised eyebrow before she competitively questioned, "why? You think you could do better than me?"
A large smirk instantly pulled onto the Salvatore vampire's lips as he got the reaction that he wanted from the human girl as he, in fact, knew how competitive Emily can get. Stefan then swiftly grabbed ahold of the human girl's hand and twirled Emily underneath his arm faster than any human should before the Salvatore vampire began the famous dance from the sixties; the east coast swing that involved lots of spins and turns until Stefan stopped when he looped his right hand on Emily's neck and dipped her body lowly. Stefan also leaned his head down, which caused his body to hover over the human girl's, before he whispered huskily, "I think I can hang."
A small gasp escaped the human girl's mouth as she stared directly into her boyfriend's green eyes from her bent over position while she was slightly out of breath. "Wow," Emily whispered as she had not been expecting all that from the vampire, who said that he didn't want to go to the decade dance. The Gilbert girl shook her head with a small chuckle once Stefan lifted her up before she exclaimed excitedly, "oh, we are so going to the dance. You are a natural and I'll have the best dancing partner in town."
The Salvatore vampire let out a heavy chuckle as he watched how excited the human girl was getting over the high school event. "Fine," Stefan finally sighed and caved in as he only wanted to make Emily the happiest that he could, "I'll be your date." The Salvatore vampire then placed his hand onto the side of the human girl's cheek before he pulled her into a sweet kiss.
However, the couple sadly pulled away when there was the distinct sound of the Gilbert vampire making throwing up sounds. The Gilbert girl and the Salvatore vampire both chuckled at Elena as Stefan threw his arm over Emily's shoulder and linked their hands together before they continued to walking towards the cafeteria. "Oh, shush," Emily told her twin sister after a moment as she playfully bumped her hip into Elena's before she stated, "I'm sure you can convince your boy toy to go with you."
The Gilbert vampire rolled her brown eyes at her twin sister as she knew Emily still held a grudge towards the older Salvatore vampire from everything that has happened like Damon killing their brother. However, Elena decided to not comment on the fact that her twin sister only calls her boyfriend her boy toy as they had finally reached the crowded cafeteria.
The two vampires and the human girl stood at the entrance of the cafeteria for a moment as they searched the large room before Emily finally spotted where the Bennett witch was sitting along with her brother. "There she is," the Gilbert girl uttered and pointed as she showed the two vampires where their best friend was.
The Gilbert twins then went to walk towards the Bennett witch, but the Salvatore vampire stopped the human girl from moving by the grip that he had on her hand. "I'm going to grab your lunch real quick," Stefan promised and pulled his girlfriend into a sweet but quick kiss before he silently walked over to the lunch line.
Once the two sisters watched the Salvatore vampire walk away from them, Emily looped her arm through Elena's before the Gilbert twins made their way through the packed out lunch room and headed straight towards their best friend - where Emily instantly noticed the Bennett witch and her brother were in a heated discussion. However, Emily figured that she had just imagined it since when she and Elena took a seat across from them, Jeremy and Bonnie both grew silent.
"Hey, Jer," the Gilbert vampire greeted her brother once she glanced up at her younger sibling as she didn't even notice the tension at the table unlike the human girl had. Elena then connected her soft brown eyes with her brother's unreadable ones before she curiously wondered with a hint of worry in her voice as she knew that she and Emily just laid onto Jeremy that the fact that they wouldn't be living together, "how are you doing? Are you okay at the house alone with John?"
Emily shot her brother a comforting smile as she could tell by looking at Jeremy that he was stressed about something but she just couldn't exactly tell what it was. The human girl then shot the three people around the table a small smirk before she couldn't help but joke, "I don't think anyone would be okay if they had to live alone with daddy dearest." Emily knew that they had accepted John's help yesterday with fighting Klaus, but that didn't mean that the human girl liked it. She knew from past experience that being anywhere near John only caused problems, so she could see why her brother would be stressed out.
The youngest Gilbert shot his older sister a smile that barely lifted onto his lips before he folded his arms across his blue jacket with an emotionless expression. "It's not ideal," Jeremy mumbled before he stood up from the table in the cafeteria as he did not want to talk about his home life that he tries his best to avoid - especially with the fact that Bonnie wasn't going to tell his sisters about the truth of the spell that will get rid of the hybrid.
"Has Jenna been home at all?" Emily quickly inquired before her brother could walk away from them. The human girl had been so worried about her aunt ever since John had laid the news about hers and Elena's birth parents. It wasn't like Emily had time to stop by the house either since the whole getting taken by Isobel and watching her die along with owning the boarding house with her bodyguards by her side. Emily just didn't want Jenna to hate her since she hid this from her. However, the human girl knew it was going to be hard for Jenna to forgive her since they have always been the closest. They had almost been like sisters while Emily was growing up, so she could only imagine how Jenna was feeling right now.
Jeremy shook his head as he looked into his older sister's saddened green eyes. "Nope, sorry," the brown eyed teenager apologized before he guessed as he tried to assure Emily with a small shrug of his shoulders once he slug his backpack over his body, "she's probably staying on campus to finish some paper." Jeremy then let out a huff when he noticed the extra two pair of eyes on him as he usually only showed his soft and caring side to his older sister before he glanced at the three important girls in his life. "Look," the brown eyed teenager mumbled, "I'm going to be late for class," before he swiftly turned around and sluggishly stomped his way out of the cafeteria.
The Gilbert twins both watched their brother leave with their brows deeply furrowed. However, unlike the human girl - who thought Jeremy was moody because of the fact that he has to stay with John, the young vampire was beyond and completely confused by her brother's attitude. "What's going on with Jer?" Elena voiced her confused after she turned attention back at the table and looked over at the Bennett witch.
The Bennett witch let out a nervous chuckle as she avoided looking into the twins' green and brown eyes for a moment before she got controlled of her emotions when she remembered what was at stake; her best friend's life. So, once she remembered what was important to her, Bonnie turned back to her best friends and playfully rolled her brown eyes before she made up an excuse to why Jeremy was acting so standoffish that would be believable, "I told him he had to dress up tonight and he got all uptight."
The Gilbert vampire released a slow sigh and muttered with a small laugh, "oh." Elena was glad that nothing had happened between her brother and John while she and Emily had been staying at the boarding house nor was their brother having any other problems as she had been worried about how Jeremy was doing lately with everything going on.
"Hey, guys!" A loud but familiar voice called out after the three teenagers let out a chuckle at the youngest Gilbert sibling, where they noticed their classmate, Dana Johnson, walking towards them. The brunette girl in the dark purple sweater gave Elena and Bonnie a small smile before she turned her attention solely onto the last girl. "Hey, Emily, I'm glad I finally found you," Dana began before she softly chuckled and excitedly exclaimed, "okay, this going to sound so crazy, but this totally hot guy just asked me to ask you if you're going to the dance tonight." Dana then waved her hand as she added with an eye roll, "I told him of course you were going as co-cheer captain but he said to ask you anyways."
The three teenagers at the lunch table all looked at each other in silence for a moment before they all busted out into laughter. However, before any of them could speak to the awaiting and excited Dana, a new voice spoke instead. "Sorry, Dana," the green eyed Salvatore politely told the human girl as he had heard the conversation before he placed his girlfriend's lunch in front of her and kissed her temple. Stefan then faced Dana and stated as he wrapped his arm protectively and jealously around Emily's waist, "you can tell the guy that this gorgeous girl is taken and she already has a date."
An excited grin lifted onto the human girl's face as she was glad that Stefan was serious about taking her to the decade dance before she turned and placed a sweet and loving kiss onto her boyfriend's smooth lips. "A very hot date," Emily exclaimed to the group of teenagers before she softly rested her head onto Stefan's upper arm as she absorbed the vampire's warm and safe presence.
However, it was like Dana didn't even hear any word that came from the vampire and human couple as she continued to stare solely at Emily with her brown eyes still holding the same excitement. "You could at least meet him," Dana began as she tried to convince her co-captain to meet the hot guy, "he'll be at the dance tonight. You should look for him - his name is Klaus."
Emily's whole body instantly went rigid as she straightened her spine and leaned over the black lunch table as soon as she heard the name leave her fellow student's mouth. The human girl then anxiously and quickly glanced between the Bennett witch and the two vampires beside her before she focused back onto Dana and interrogated as she needed to be sure that she heard Dana right, "um, can you repeat that again?"
Dana threw her long brunette hair over her shoulder as she answered her co-captain's question and didn't notice the obvious tension in Emily's voice, "his name's Klaus." The human teenager rolled her brown eyes with a small laugh before she exclaimed as she leaned over the lunch table, "I know the name's stupid, but I swear he's hot."
The three supernatural beings all immediately began to look around the cafeteria once they were positive that the human girl was speaking about the hybrid. However, when the witch and the vampires couldn't spy anyone that didn't belong, the Salvatore vampire turned his attention to the human girl. "Dana," the green eyed vampire called out before he asked as he stared directly into her brown irises, "can you tell me where he is?"
The Johnson girl deeply furrowed her brows as she stared at the Salvatore vampire for a few silent moments before she instantly closed her brown eyes, without even looking around for this so-called hot guy, and mumbled with uncertainty clearly throughout her voice, "I-I don't know."
The Salvatore vampire gave the human girl a small smile before he turned his attention onto his silent girlfriend and the two other supernatural beings. "She's been compelled," Stefan quietly muttered while he comfortingly ran his hand softly down the anxious Emily's back as he had recognized the glazed over and empty look in Dana's eyes like every time someone is being manipulated by a vampire.
"Anyways," Dana began as she shook away her confusion from Stefan's question that she wasn't allowed to answer and focused her attention back onto her co-captain before she exclaimed with the same excitement back on her face, "he wants to know if you'll save him the last dance." The Johnson girl then completely ignored the presence of the three supernatural beings, like she was instructed to do, before she gushed, "how cute is that?"
Emily gave the oblivious and compelled teenager a fake and large grin as if she was also excited by the fact a hot guy wanted her to save him the last dance before she sarcastically exclaimed, "super cute." The Gilbert girl watched Dana go on and on as she released a small sigh and tightly held onto her boyfriend's hand while her twin sister grabbed onto her other hand. There goes our calm, date night, the human doppelganger thought now that they knew Klaus would be showing his face tonight. Well, game on, hybrid, Emily thought as her green eyes hardened as she was not going to get scared because of some small taunt like that.
SALVATORE BOARDING HOUSE
It was directly after school when everyone, Stefan, Emily, Elena, and Bonnie, found themselves huddled together in the living room of the boarding house, where Stefan had just finished explaining to his brother about what took place during lunch when the hybrid that wanted to use his girlfriend for the sacrifice made his first move.
The older Salvatore glanced at each face around the room that showed the worry and anxiousness that they were all feeling now that Klaus is finally showing himself before Damon lightly shrugged his shoulders as if he wasn't bothered by the fact that the most feared supernatural being was ready to come out of hiding before he stated like it was the simplest thing, "so, we go to the dance and find him."
Stefan rolled his green irises at his brother, who was acting like that this wasn't the most dangerous thing that they ever have done. "Really?" The younger Salvatore interrogated as Stefan decided to humor his brother's plan for a moment, "how are we going to do that when we don't even know what he looks like?"
Damon walked through the spacious living room in silence before he carelessly tossed his arm over his girlfriend's shoulder. The older Salvatore vampire then faced his brother with one his striking eyebrows raised and exclaimed, "something tells me he's not going to be sixteen and pimply." It was honestly common sense in Damon's opinion as he figured the oldest vampire in history wasn't going to look like everyone else at the school dance.
"He can be anywhere at any time," Stefan argued with Damon's stupid logic that he wasn't about to trust when Emily's life is on the line before he reminded his brother about what he literally just had told him about, "he compelled someone at school to do his dirty work." The younger Salvatore then moved his green eyes over to the two huddled up girls, Bonnie and Emily, before he raised his eyebrow and inquired, "I guess it's not as safe as you guys thought, huh?"
Emily couldn't help but roll her eyes at her boyfriend, who's basically taunting her decision to go to school. "Well, I guess you were bad at your bodyguard job, huh?" The human girl shot back as she wasn't going to let Stefan or anyone else tell her what she can or cannot do like the vampires did this morning. She wasn't going to let Klaus stop herself from living and it would be a cold day in hell that she was going to hide away from him.
However, before the tension between the human girl and the younger Salvatore could continue, there was the sound of someone knocking on the front door of the boarding house before everyone noticed as the history teacher/vampire hunter finally walked into the living room. "There you are," Damon huffed out as they had been waiting for Alaric to show up for over twenty minutes now.
The hybrid in the vampire hunter's skin slowly and cautiously glanced around at each face around the room before he silently and quite awkwardly nodded his head. "Sorry, I'm late," Klaus/Alaric apologized as he stuffed his hands into the pockets of his thick black coat while he avoided looking directly at anyone encase they realized that something was up with their friend.
However and thankfully for the hybrid, no one noticed anything different - except for the human doppelganger, who had her brows furrowed in confusion as she felt like something wasn't right. The air in the living room took a whole different feel as soon as the history teacher walked in but Emily just couldn't place her finger on why she felt a hint of hate and anger in her chest.
"Hey," the older Salvatore vampire began as he looked over at his fellow drinking buddy before he requested, "I need you to put me down as a chaperone for the dance tonight." Damon then nodded his head in the direction of the human girl and the Bennett witch before he explained with a playful but serious voice, "Klaus made his first move."
The Gilbert vampire silently nodded her head when, who she thought was her history teacher, looked at them in shock as she subconsciously ran her hand gently across her boyfriend's waist underneath his leather jacket before she glanced at everyone in the living room and wondered, "so, what are we going to do? How are we supposed to keep Emmie safe when Klaus could be anywhere?" Elena nervously shook her head as she glanced over to her twin sister before she mumbled, "it just seems like a trap with that any people around."
The human doppelganger released a small sigh when she heard the worry in her sister's voice before she squeezed Bonnie's hand, that was tightly holding her own, and walked over to the vampire couple. Emily then placed her hand onto Elena's shoulder to comfort her anxious sister before she glanced at everyone in the room with complete determination in her green irises. "If we are really going to end Klaus tonight then we need a plan," Emily stated before she rose an eyebrow at the vampires, the witch, and the hunter as she asked, "did you guys come up with something?" The human girl knew her plan wouldn't fly over with everyone, so she decided to give them the benefit of the doubt until she would wake the secret weapon.
"Me," the Bennett witch immediately answered the human girl's question. Bonnie lightly shrugged her shoulders as she only got confused and curious looks from everyone in the room before she explained, "I'm the plan." The brown eyed witch shook her head before she confidently stated, "he has no idea how much power I can channel. If we can find him, I can kill him."
The living room of the Salvatore boarding house grew silent after the Bennett witch told everyone her plan as they all thought it over before the hybrid hiding in the vampire hunter's skin let out a deep chuckle - which caused every pair of eyes to go towards Klaus/Alaric. The hybrid in the human's skin awkwardly cleared his throat before he quickly stated so everyone would think that he was in fact their normal Alaric, "that's not going to be that easy." Klaus/Alaric crossed his arms over his black coat while a small and cocky smirk played on his lips before he explained why he didn't think the witch's plan would work, "I mean, he is the biggest, baddest vampire around."
The human doppelganger couldn't help but continue to stare at her history teacher with her brows deeply furrowed because of the way that he had been acting and talking since class. It just didn't seem right to why Alaric would have a smirk on his face, which he never does, and why in the world that he would be basically complimenting the hybrid while also doubting Bonnie. However, Emily couldn't put her finger on why all these things were happening along with the strong emotions that she was feeling around the hunter and it was completely pissing her off. It's like I'm feeling the strong emotions when I'm around Katherine or Elijah, the human girl thought to herself as she tried to place all this information that she had gathered together.
"Alaric has a point," the older Salvatore uttered as he agreed with his fellow drinking buddy which interrupted the human girl's thought process. "I mean, what if he..." Damon had began to easily say before he swiftly vamp sped up to the Bennett witch to sneak attack her. However, before the vampire could get too close to her, Bonnie quickly rose her right hand in the air and focused her brown eyes directly on Damon. The Bennett witch then slowly lifted her hand in the air - which instantly caused Damon to go flying through the living room before he fell roughly across the room and onto the ground.
The living room of the boarding house was silent for a few moments as everyone watched Damon groan before he finally stood up with annoyance in his blue eyes. "Well, I was impressed," the younger Salvatore exclaimed with a small grin playing across his lips - which caused everyone in the room, except for Klaus/Alaric, to let out a small chuckle as they had enjoyed watching the older Salvatore being proven wrong for once.
"It doesn't matter if he's an original," the Bennett witch confidently stated once another tense silence had settled in the boarding house after their small moment of calmness had settled from watching Damon being thrown around. Bonnie silently walked around the room until she was standing directly beside the human girl before she placed her hand onto Emily's shoulder like the human girl was currently doing with her twin sister. "I can take down anyone who comes at me," the Bennett witch continued before she stared directly into the human girl's green irises and stated, "I can kill him, Emily. I can end this."
The human doppelganger immediately nodded her head with a small smile as she trusted that the Bennett witch could do it. However, if things got sticky and Bonnie gets put in danger with the hybrid then she would have her backup plan and that is to just hand herself over to Klaus. Emily would keep that to herself, though, as she knew they would definitely lock her in the boarding house if they knew that she was back to that option again. The human girl would always rather hand herself over than to let her family and friends to get harmed and that would never change but it wasn't really something that everyone needed to hear so Emily decided to keep on with this plan for now.
Emily clapped her hands together once no one spoke in the living room as she uttered, "great." The human girl then stood in the middle on the vampires, witch, and hunter before she exclaimed with a hint of sarcasm in her voice, "I'm glad my trusty bodyguards have a plan because we now have a dance to get ready for." Emily didn't mean to sound so sarcastic but it was her defense mechanism coming out as she hated that everyone was so concerned and worried about her when that was her job. She just wanted to get this dance over with so she could see if Bonnie could finish Klaus or if she had to wake up Elijah.
The Bennett witch and the Gilbert vampire went to follow after the human girl, who was quickly heading towards the staircase of the boarding house to find a dress that resembled something from the sixties since she didn't get the chance to go shopping with Caroline a few weeks ago. However, before the three girls could walk up the stairs, the voice of the younger Salvatore quickly stopped them. "Hey, if you want some authentic sixties dresses, we have some in the basement," Stefan mentioned to the three girls while his green eyes stayed locked onto his girlfriend. The younger Salvatore knew that this was a difficult time for the human girl with all the tension and stress, so he at least wanted to make sure that she would have bit of fun by starting with her outfit.
The human girl removed her black flats from the wooden staircase when Stefan had informed her of where he had some clothes from the sixties before she swiftly twirled her body around. Emily stared across at her boyfriend, who was obviously worried about her by the softness in his green eyes, for a moment or two before she murmured softly with a small smile, "thank you."
The three teenagers then headed towards the basement and down the small set of stairs once the younger Salvatore silently nodded his head and went to look for these sixties outfits for the decade dance. Emily briefly glanced at the locked door to the cell that held the dead original before she quickly continued to walk as she couldn't show that she was even thinking about waking him up. Instead, Emily focused on traveling towards the back of the basement, where she had never been, before she silently spotted the hundreds of boxes pushed against the far wall.
"Wow," the Bennett witch mumbled and gaped in surprise at all of the boxes. She honestly was thinking of a couple of dresses hidden away and definitely not this much stuff. "It's going to be hell going through all of these," Bonnie muttered as she looked inside one of the boxes and noticed it was filled with nothing but flowing flapper dresses that were obviously from the twenties.
The Gilbert vampire spot her twin sister and best friend a large grin before she teased, "well, good thing we have a vampire here then." Elena then swiftly vamp sped around the basement while she looked for any boxes labeled 'sixties' and sat them beside her awaiting twin and the Bennett witch. Finally, after about ten minutes of searching, Elena came to a stop with one last box in her hand before she walked normally up to the two girls and boxes as she stated proudly, "all done."
"You're finally useful for something," Emily playfully joked with her twin sister as she bumped her hip into Elena's before she glanced between the boxes, that were down to about fifteen, and the two girls beside her. The human girl then clapped her hands together with an excited grin before she exclaimed, "alright, ladies. Let's get looking."
The three girls immediately got to work after the human girl's command as they looked for any outfit that would fit in with the Sixties Decade Dance at Mystic Falls High School. It ended up taking the teenagers about fifteen minutes before they all found something that they liked. The Gilbert vampire ended up with a deep purple dress with patterns, Bonnie found an orange dress while Emily found herself a red and pink one.
"Okay, dresses check," the human girl mumbled to herself once she saw that they all had their main component to their sixties outfit before she stated with a grin, "now accessories." The three girls then turned their attention back to the boxes, where they found five different ones that held accessories, shoes, and purses. It only took about ten minutes of searching before Elena found a white belt with white gogo boots and purple peace earrings, Bonnie found orange gogo boots and a peace sign necklace, while Emily found a pair of light pink heels, red stockings, and a red bow for her hair.
"We look like Charlie's Angels," the Bennett witch joked once they had their outfits on and all ready for the dance and they were standing in front of an ancient full body mirror. The Gilbert twins glanced at one another in the mirror with identical grins before they swiftly turned their body to the side of Bonnie and lifted up a sideways fake gun to the side of their faces as they posed. Bonnie shook her with a small chuckle as she watched the sisters in the mirror before she playfully rolled her brown eyes and did the same pose - which immediately caused the three girls to bust out into a happy laughter like they used to.
It took a couple of minutes before the three girls finally calmed down while they enjoyed the calm moment together before Elena turned away from the mirror and glanced between her twin sister and best friend. "Okay, so what are we thinking for the hair and makeup situation?" The Gilbert vampire wondered. Elena had never really been a person that cared a lot about hair and makeup, but she knew that Emily would make her do it, anyway, so she figured to skip to the part where she just agrees.
"Actually, I'm going to do mine at home," Bonnie stated as she glanced between the two sisters before she explained when she saw the confused expressions on Emily and Elena's faces since they usually get all dressed together for events like this, "I just wanna go over the spell for tonight a few more times so I'll be ready." The Bennett witch gave the sisters a small smile as she told them, "I'll meet you guys at the dance with Jer."
The human doppelganger nodded her head in understanding and murmured, "okay," as she would rather have Bonnie prepared than get hurt later tonight. The Gilbert twins and the Bennett witch then made their way up and out of the Salvatore basement and up to the foyer before they came to a stop. "Make sure our brother is dressed up," Emily lightly ordered as she pointed at Bonnie once the Bennett witch opened the front door and stood in front of threshold.
Bonnie let out a small chuckle as she nodded her head. "I will," the Bennett witch promised. The Bennett witch then gave her two best friends a serious look before she stated with confidence, "we're going to end this tonight." There was nothing that was going to stop Bonnie from ending the hybrid. They couldn't let Klaus escape tonight, she wasn't going to let that happen so he can just sacrifice one of the people that has always been in her life.
Emily reached across the doorway and squeezed Bonnie's lower arm with a small smile before she and Elena both uttered at the exact same time like they usually do with their twin connection, "I believe in you." The three girls then quickly glanced at one another and chuckled as everyone always thought it was weird when they did that. "We'll see you soon," Emily told the Bennett witch once they had calmed down before she waved goodbye when Bonnie began to walk towards her car.
The Gilbert vampire closed the front door behind her once they watched Bonnie drive away before she and Emily slowly walked down the hallway with their arms locked together. The human girl then pulled them to a stop once they reached the staircase before she told her twin sister, "alright, I'm going to go fix my makeup and hair real quick then we can leave."
Elena nodded her head in agreement and stated with a small eye roll, "I need to go make sure Damon is actually dressing up." The Gilbert twins then headed up the staircase together and walked down the hallway before they parted ways as Elena went to Damon's bedroom and Emily went to her bedroom.
However, Emily didn't walk into her bedroom like she originally planned to do her makeup and hair as she noticed Stefan in his bedroom through the half cracked door. Emily softly pushed opened the wooden door, where she instantly saw Stefan standing in front of his mirror while he focused on buttoning up his white shirt. "Hey, there," the human girl murmured as she quietly walked up to her boyfriend and loosely wrapped her arms around Stefan's waist.
A small smile lifted onto the younger Salvatore's face as he saw the human girl through the mirror before he turned his body around and lightly placed his hands on top of his girlfriend's shoulders. "You look beautiful," Stefan murmured as he bent down by a little bit and placed his cool forehead against Emily's warm one.
A blush instantly lifted onto the human girl's face at Stefan's compliment like it always does and murmured, "thank you." Emily then ran her fingers down Stefan's hard and exposed abs as she leaned up on her tippy toes before she placed her soft lips against the vampire's neck and stated, "you look pretty hot yourself."
Stefan let out a soft chuckle at the compliment and the way the human girl's cheeks went bright red like he loved to see happen. The Salvatore stood like that for a moment with his girlfriend racking her fingers down his stomach and enjoyed her presence before he gently placed his hand onto Emily's neck and lifted her face by her chin. Stefan stared into Emily's sparkly green eyes with a soft smile playing on his lips before he whispered, "I love you."
A bright smile immediately lifted onto the human girl's lips as she stared into Stefan's green irises before she whispered right back, "I love you too." Emily then lifted her arms so they were now wrapped around the younger Salvatore vampire's neck before she pulled him into a passionate kiss.
The human and vampire couple stayed like that a few minutes before Stefan pulled away when he knew Emily had to breathe. The younger Salvatore then brought his hand back to the side of the human girl's face and softly rubbed her right cheek before he admitted, "I wanna apologize for my snarkiness earlier." Stefan shook his head as he explained why he had basically snapped at her when he mentioned that she and Bonnie had made the wrong choice by going to school, "I trust your decision but i just don't want anything to happen to you." The vampire gave his girlfriend a sad smile as he continued to rub the side of her face before he told Emily, "I don't want to give Klaus the chance to take you away from me. I will go out of my mind if I lose you, Emmie."
The Gilbert girl released a small sigh as she stared into Stefan's green eyes that held so much emotions before she grabbed Stefan's unoccupied hand and brought it to her lips before she softly uttered as she consoled the worried vampire, "I know. I know." Emily then silently shook her head with a small smile playing on her lips before she promised truthfully, "but I'm not going anywhere until you decide that you don't want me anymore."
The Salvatore vampire brought the human girl tighter into his arms until they were chest to chest as he murmured, "good." Stefan placed a gentle kiss onto Emily's forehead before he told her, "you're stuck with me forever, then, because I will never get sick of you." The younger Salvatore played with the end of the human girl's brown hair as he stared into her green eyes before he confessed, "you're it for me, Emily."
The human doppelganger leaned up and placed a chaste kiss onto the vampire's lips at his confession before she murmured like Stefan had done, "good." Emily let a large grin spread across her lips before she confessed her own feelings, "you're my one and only." The couple then stood there for a few minutes more as they stared into each other's green eyes before Emily finally broke the connection as she began to button up Stefan's white shirt as she asked with a grin, "so, are we ready to have a blast?"
Stefan shook his head with a small chuckle before he grabbed his black tie from beside him and slipped it onto this neck, where he began to tie it together. The Salvatore vampire then focused back onto his girlfriend and pulled her tightly in his arms once more before he inquired, "you know it's not too late to back out, right?" Stefan was still nervous about going to the decade dance, even though he trusts Bonnie, as he would hate himself if he allowed any harm to come to the human girl.
"Stef," the human girl softly uttered her boyfriend's name as she wrapped her arms lowly around the vampire's waist as she could hear the nervousness in his voice before she murmured, "tonight will be fine." Emily lightly ran her hand down Stefan's back before she truthfully told him, "I'm not scared and neither should you." The human girl softly brought her hand to Stefan's cheek like he did to her before she continued, "I believe Bonnie can do this and we'll finally be free from Klaus for once and for all."
The Salvatore vampire stared into his girlfriend's green eyes with a hint of doubt in his own before he slowly nodded his head. "You're right. We're going to end this tonight," Stefan agreed as pulled the human girl tightly in his arms. The brunette supernatural being was still nervous about tonight and facing off with the hybrid but he just had to remind himself that he would never let any harm come to Emily and he would protect her with his life, so he was willing to do exactly that against Klaus.
Emily wrapped her hands around Stefan's neck once more as she gave her obviously anxious boyfriend a large grin while she absorbed the comfort in his arms. "Thank you for everything that you have done for me in this last year," the human girl praised as she felt like that she had to show her gratitude before they go through this dangerous 'mission' that could possibly cause her death, "you mean the world to me, Stef."
The Salvatore vampire placed a soft kiss onto the human girl's forehead as he could tell that she was nervous - even though she wasn't saying so. However, he also knew that she was trying to say goodbye like they were never going to see each other again and Stefan didn't like that feeling. "You can thank me tonight when we come home," Stefan told his girlfriend with a small smirk as he planned on bringing her home - alive and well.
However, before either of the vampire and human couple could say anything more, the duo vampire couple that is Elena and Damon walked into the younger Salvatore's bedroom and interrupted their moment. "Any time tonight," Damon called out to the human girl and his brother as he stood against the doorway with Elena under his arm.
Emily mentally rolled her green eyes because, of course, leave it to Damon to ruin a private moment with her boyfriend. The human girl then connected her lips with Stefan's once more and whispered, "I love you," before she linked her fingers through the vampire's and faced her sister and Stefan's brother with a small nod. "Let's get this groovy train moving," Emily exclaimed to the room of vampires with a small smirk and the sixties slang before the two couples chuckled and left to face off against the feared hybrid.
The human doppelganger felt her chest pound in her chest as they made their way out of the Salvatore boarding house. Emily was, in fact, nervous - despite how she had been so confident about this. However, Emily wasn't nervous or scared for her. She was more worried about the people that would be protecting her. Emily didn't doubt that Bonnie could kill Klaus or that Stefan, Elena, and Damon would protect her. It was the fact that she had the feeling that Klaus would do whatever it took to end his curse and that meant hurting anyone that Emily loves like he did with Maria Radkova and the whole Petrova family. However, Emily promised herself as she walked hand and hand with her boyfriend that she was going to do her damnedest to keep everyone safe no matter the cost.
