Emily Gilbert took a deep and slow breath with her fingers wrapped around the cold doorknob at the Lockwood mansion as she prepared herself for the information that the original could tell her - which would probably change her whole life. The human girl stood there for almost three minutes before she forced the door open as she knew that this wasn't the time to be afraid. Emily knew that she needed to be strong and brave - like she had been doing since she found out about vampires - and ready herself to protect her family and friends against Klaus.

That's easier said then done, Emily told herself with a roll of her green eyes as she silently stepped over the threshold of the Lockwood mansion, I'm going to be a witch for crying out loud!

The Gilbert girl soon came to a stop when she spotted Elijah standing in front of her favorite painting in the whole Lockwood mansion. It was an image of a small girl with brown hair standing alone on top of a hill as she looked down at her city below shining in lights. "It's beautiful, isn't it?" Emily couldn't help but ask the original of his opinion as she slowly moved to stand beside him while her green eyes stayed locked on the painting.

"It reminds me of myself," Emily commented as, for the moment, she forgot about Klaus and the terror that he will bring along with the fact that she was going to become the next Radkova witch. The human doppelganger crossed her arms over her leather jacket before she continued in a soft voice as she spoke of her feelings, "it's how I feel lately - like I have the whole world on my shoulders and if I make one step out of line then it will just all fall apart."

The honey eyed original slowly moved his head to the side to gaze down at the Gilbert girl with a soft expression adoring his face from her honest words. "You will not be alone in this," Elijah assured the human girl in a gentle voice as he laid his large hand onto her shoulder. "You, my dear, will be the end of Klaus," the original promised with a slight smile to his face, "he will not know what hit him once he realizes there is one last Radkova witch."

Emily couldn't help the small smile that slowly pulled onto her lips from the original's assuring words. It helped the human girl feel slightly better and more confident - which she figured had something to do with the doppelganger connection - but she would ask about that later. Right now, Emily wanted to know what she was walking into by Elijah mentioning her looming witch status.

"So..." Emily drawled out as she walked away from the painting with the original vampire following right beside her before she led them back to the couches in the living room. "This whole witch thing," the human doppelganger mumbled as she took a seat onto the mayor's leather chair with Elijah sitting across from her before she inquired, "what's going to happen to me?"

Emily honestly was quite nervous and afraid - even though she would never admit that out loud. The thought of becoming a witch scared the Petrova doppelganger when she had been a human all her life. Emily felt a bit anxious that it was going to end up changing who she was. The human girl had watched and heard stories about how people changed once they became vampires, so Emily guessed that she was afraid that she wouldn't be the same person anymore.

Maybe I'll became a complete psychopath like the Wicked Witch of the West, the human girl sarcastically thought of the possibilities of what it would mean to be a witch when it wasn't in her blood to be flowing with magic. It just sounded wrong in the order of life to gain these powers when she wasn't from a witchy family like Bonnie.

"I mean, I know what's going to happen," the human Petrova doppelganger continued as she lightly rolled her green eyes before she explained her questioning with a slight nervous tick to her right eyebrow, "is it like going to hurt me? Dying, I mean." Emily released a small sigh before she uttered, "I mean... You mentioned that I would die during the sacrifice but is it going to stick because I don't want to risk drinking Maria's mojo if I end up really dying and I won't be able to protect my family and friends."

Elijah let a small, amused smile slowly rise onto his lips before he leaned forward and gently in a feather-like touch placed his hand onto Emily's bouncing knee to help calm the human girl's nerves and let her know that she wasn't alone. "You will die, yes," the original vampire began to explain once he could see that Emily was slowly calming down from his touch before Elijah assured her, "but you will wake within twenty-four to seventy-two hours after the sacrifice."

Emily slowly nodded her head as she bit down on her bottom lip before she realized what exactly Elijah had said. "And what if I don't wake up between those three days?" The Gilbert girl quietly asked as if she was afraid of the answer.

The original vampire silently stared across at the human girl, who reminded him so much of his Darina, for a moment before he released a small sigh and mumbled as he lightly shook his head, "I-I'm not sure. This has never happened before." Elijah didn't let that thought dwell in the nervous Emily's mind for long, though, as he quickly reached over and grabbed her hand. "If, by the off chance that you are still out after the expired time, you will be dead," Elijah gently explained before he gave Emily's hand a light squeeze and promised, "but Maria said this would work and believe her. The Radkova witches are the alphas when it comes to magic, so if she says you'll come back, then I know you will, Emily."

The human Petrova doppelganger and potential Radkova witch briefly closed her green eyes as she tried to absorb the information that would ultimately kill her or make her a supernatural being. However, the one thing that continued to plaque Emily's mind the most as she thought about what this would mean, was the future of her family and friends. Emily was willing to put her trust into Maria - partly because Elijah and Katherine believed her - plus it was their last option. Emily was all over this plan but she was worried about the people that she loved if this didn't work out like they want.

"You have to promise me something, Elijah," the Gilbert girl practically begged in desperation as she knew that she needed to make sure that her family and friends were safe no matter the outcome of the sacrifice.

Elijah furrowed his brows as he stared across at the deadly serious human girl - someone way different than the girl had been shaking with nerves a second ago. "What is it?" The original vampire gently questioned as he gave Emily's hand, that he was will holding, a small squeeze.

"If I'm still dead after the three days," Emily began with complete determination in her voice before she requested as she stared into Elijah's honey brown eyes with her serious green ones, "you have to protect my loved ones." The Gilbert girl lightly shook her head as she explained, "I'm trusting that you and Maria know what you're talking about, but if it doesn't work, I need someone to protect the people I am so willing to die for. I need to know they will be taken care of and will be save from Klaus when this is all over with."

Elijah nodded his head in understanding for what the human girl was asking of him. He found it quite honorable that Emily was still dead set on protecting her people - even after death if she did not survive. "You have my word, Emily," the original promised as he tried to ease one of her current worries as he gave her hand another comforting squeeze, "if this doesn't go our way, I will make sure Klaus doesn't touch a single hair on your loved ones' head."

The Gilbert girl couldn't help the loud sigh of relief that escaped through her lips from Elijah's promise as that was one of her biggest fears about everything that was going on. Emily only cared about protecting the people that she cared for - staying alive was honestly just a plus in her book.

"Alright," Emily murmured after a full minute of silence had passed as she felt like she could finally relax as she leaned her back into the cool leather chair. The Gilbert girl took one last breath of relief as she tried to calm her mind before she focused her gaze back onto Elijah. "So, can you explain more about how this will all go down?" The human doppelganger requested before she added, "like after the seventy-two hours."

The original vampire nodded his head at the human girl's request before he also leaned back on the leather couch as he began. "It will be just like a vampire transition - except for the drinking human blood part," Elijah explained, "you'll wake up between those seventy-two hours feeling stronger than ever from Maria's magic running through your veins."

Emily couldn't help but feel a little nervous, once again, from that aspect of the plan. "I would have to use Maria's magic?" The Gilbert girl anxiously questioned as she didn't know if she was down for being a witch. It just felt weird to Emily. She didn't even know the first thing about being a witch and now suddenly she would have all of this power. Emily guessed she was just afraid that something bad would end up happening or she would screw up from having Maria's magic in her.

"That was one of the requirements from Maria, yes," the original stated as he nodded his head once before he explained why the human girl would need to use her new magic, "Maria wanted to make sure that the next Petrova doppelganger would become the strongest witch in existence and for the next Radkova witch, you, to continue to spread the word and knowledge of the Protectors of the Innocence."

Emily's green irises instantly widened at the original vampire's words. "Wow," the Gilbert girl mumbled as she leaned further into the leather chair with her head leaning against the head rest and her eyes towards the white ceiling. "That's a lot to take in," Emily mumbled as she felt like she was in complete shock that she would not only become a witch - but the strongest one in existence.

Emily hadn't really put much thought in the fact that she would actually have to use the powers from Maria Radkova. The human doppelganger had just thought she would just have the powers and push them to the back of her mind, not that she actively had to use them. Emily honestly felt quite anxious and terrified that she would have to learn to use these powers and become some strong witch. Emily wasn't sure that she was meant for that.

"Hey, it's going to be alright," the original vampire quickly assured the human girl as he could see how strung up Emily was becoming again about becoming a witch. Elijah leaned over and gave Emily's hand another squeeze as he suggested, "if you want, once we have dealt with my brother, I can show and teach you everything I know about perfecting your magic and learning to be in control of your powers."

"I must tell you, though," Elijah softly began after the human girl had agreed to his suggestion before he stated, "this isn't going to be a cakewalk. You're experience is going to be different from your friend - Miss Bennett." The original vampire wanted Emily to be well informed to what would happen to her, so he explained, "you will be way stronger and it will be difficult for you to control your powers as a first time witch."

"There hasn't been a lot of instances where a human gained magic but the ones that did, usually had a difficult time with dealing with the power," Elijah continued as he stated, "like sometimes new witches would cause natural disasters or their powers would start to go out of control or even they would get too wrapped into the power which have caused some of them to become hungry for more power. Sometimes it can be too much for the witch and it caused them to be, essentially, an emotionless vampire."

Emily couldn't help the loud groan that slipped through her lips as she, once again, threw her head back on the leather chair in the Lockwood mansion. "You are so not making me feel better right now, Lijah," the Gilbert girl mumbled as she squeezed her green eyes shut. Elijah's words had made Emily's fear of who she would become after the sacrifice even worse. Emily was afraid that she was going to become one of those witches that Elijah mentioned. She hated the idea that she could become someone that no one could recognize and absolutely terrified her that she wouldn't be the same girl again.

"Hey, there is no need to fret," the original vampire softly assured the human girl as he placed a comforting hand onto her black leggings clad knee. "Maria left her grimoire for you along with a guide to help you understand your new powers, so you will not be alone nor in the dark in this," Elijah told the Gilbert girl before he added, "and I will also help in anyway I can." The original vampire shot the human girl a small smile before he stated to hopefully calm Emily's nerves, "let's get through the sacrifice first before we start worrying about that."

Emily stared across into the original's soft, honey colored eyes for a moment before she finally nodded her head. "Yeah, you're right," the human girl muttered with a heavy sigh before she stated in agreement, "let's survive first before she start worrying about witchy powers." The Gilbert girl took a deep breath as she briefly closed her eyes to calm her nerves before she asked as she focused back onto her current issue, "so, how do we go about doing this? How am I supposed to drink some magical vial that is like hundreds of years old?"

"I will need to go pick up Maria's vial that is located in Rome along with the grimoire and a few journals in Seoul that Maria wanted you to have for after the sacrifice," the original vampire explained.

The Gilbert girl furrowed her brows at the fact that the supplies were so far away. "Will you have them in time for the sacrifice?" Emily anxiously asked as she wanted to be totally prepared for the sacrifice. They couldn't take the chance in anything going wrong or everything would just be for nothing and Klaus would win.

Elijah nodded his head and uttered as he smoothly stood up from the leather couch, "I will." The original vampire silently walked over to the human girl on the chair and held out his hand for her. "But we should be leaving," Elijah stated before he explained, "I have a long journey to make and you need to prepare yourself, mentally and physically, for the sacrifice."

Emily released a heavy sigh before she placed her hand into Elijah's larger one as she silently nodded her head in agreement. The human girl honestly didn't have a response in her as she just tried to wrap her mind around everything that she learned and everything that would soon happen as they took their exit out of the Lockwood mansion.

Emily couldn't help but feel a series of nerves and anxieties as she and Elijah entered the older Salvatore's blue Camaro. The Gilbert girl, no matter how much the original tried to assure her, felt nervous about the sacrifice and what would happen after it was all over. Emily still couldn't exactly wrap her mind around the fact that she, a human doppelganger, would become the strongest witch in existence. It was too crazy for Emily to even imagine right now.

The blue Camaro that belonged to Damon Salvatore was silent for a few minutes as Emily drove them back to the boarding house as they were both wrapped in their own minds. However, Emily didn't want to focus her mind on her witchy status as it made her too anxious, so the human girl decided that she would take this time, their only time before everything would become too crazy, to ask this one thing. "So..." Emily began as she took a quick glance at the original beside her before she innocently questioned, "what is this doppelganger connection I hear so much about?"

Elijah released a small, amused chuckle as he knew this conversation would have picked up sooner or later since the human girl had been interrupted earlier by his brother going after Emily's aunt - along with all the other times Emily had tried to ask him about it in the past. However, Elijah knew this was finally the time to tell the human girl, so he lightly cleared his throat before he began to explain what Emily had always felt, "it's a connection that you share from Darina's own memories. It only happened with you because Darina had the Radkova powers in her system when Klaus killed her, so it, essentially, transferred over to the next doppelganger."

Emily slowly nodded her head in understanding as she continued to drive through Mystic Falls. But once they reached a red light, the human girl moved her green irises over to the original vampire with a raise of her right eyebrow before Emily questioned in disbelief, "so, you're trying to tell me that I have always been a Radkova witch?"

Elijah moved his head up and down with a small smile playing on his lips from how shocked the human girl was expressing all across her face. "Precisely," the original vampire affirmed what Emily thought before he explained, "back when Maria was trying to save Davina, she infused Davina's blood with hers to give Davina a little extra strength for the sacrifice." Elijah lightly shrugged his shoulders with a bitter smile on his face before he added, "but it didn't exactly work out the way Maria had wished."

Emily could tell it was still a touchy subject for the original about Darina's death and they couldn't save her, so the human girl decided to focus more onto the connection then the sacrifice aspect. "Why do I always feel like I can trust you, though?" Emily curiously wondered, "and why do I actually like Katherine when I know I shouldn't?"

Elijah released a small chuckle before he stated as if it would explain everything, "it's that connection you share." The original vampire lightly shook his head before he stated as he gave Emily a real answer, "I'm not sure why it happens but I believe it's because of the magic inside of you that also has Darina's blood mixed in, so you feel what she felt when you meet the same people." Elijah paused for a moment but when he noticed Emily's furrowed brows, he continued to explain, "for instance, Darina loved and adored Katerina more than anything, so that is why you feel safe and actually believe anything that comes out of her mouth because that's how Darina felt as well."

Emily quietly hummed to herself as the connection was slowly beginning to make sense to her and why she felt a certain way with a few vampires. However, the human girl was curious about one thing, so she voiced her wonderment as she asked the original, "and you? Why do I feel like I can trust you?" Emily ignored the warmness to her cheeks along to what she was admitting as she also added, "and why do I sometimes get nervous when we're too close to each other?"

Elijah released an amused chuckle and let a small smirk rise onto his lips at the human girl's confession before he stated after a moment of watching Emily's reddened cheeks, "Darina and I were very much in love. We had only known one another for a few shorts weeks but she was my world." The original sat in silence for a moment as he thought about what Emily felt before he commented, "I believe what you are experiencing with me is the beginning of what Darina may have left. Like I said, though, this doppelganger connection is something that no one has ever seen before, so I'm not exactly sure."

Emily nodded her head as she could see how that could be true for her. It definitely wasn't the craziest thing that she has ever heard and definitely sounded plausible in her case. However, as Emily thought over what Darina had felt for the original, she couldn't help but glance over to Elijah as she questioned with an amused smile playing on her lips, "I'm not gonna want to start kissing you, am I?" Emily shook her head as she joked, "I mean, you're a great guy in all but I'm in love with Stefan."

The original vampire released a heavy chuckle at the human girl as he shook his head in disagreement. "I think Darina's past feelings just lead into that direction, so it doesn't have to mean love," Elijah explained his opinion of what their own connection could mean, "it could just be in a friendly or caring way like as close confidants or friends."

The Gilbert girl released a teasing breath of relief before she took a quick glance over to the original with an amusing smirk. "Well, that's good to know," Emily joked even though she had been slightly nervous about what her and Elijah had meant over the past couple of weeks of knowing the original.

"Have you've been worried you would fall for me?" The original vampire teased the human doppelganger right back with an amused smile playing on his lips.

Emily playfully slapped her right hand onto Elijah's upper arm before she muttered with a tint of embarrassed in her voice, "yes." The Gilbert girl avoided Elijah's grinning face as she quickly defended herself, "it's new to me to feel like that towards someone." Emily shook her head as she wanted to get away from this conversation as quickly as possible, so she questioned, "anyways, moving on from that... What does it feel like for you?" Emily added so the original could understand what she meant, "because I know Katherine has treated me like a sister with making sure I was safe and okay all the time."

"It's just something that we, Katerina and I, can feel since we both were so close to Darina," the original vampire begin to explain what he felt for the human girl, "we can feel how pure and kind you are like Darina was, so it just makes us want to keep you safe like we tried to do for Darina." The original placed his hand onto his chest as he stated, "for me, though, it's like an instinct to want to protect you. I just want you safe and be able to live your life in happiness the way that you wish to. I see you as a close friend of mine."

The Gilbert girl nodded her head in understanding before she glanced over to the original with a wide smirk. "Aw," the human doppelganger cooed before she teased Elijah as she gave the vampire's upper arm a playful squeeze, "I like you, too." Emily just felt this sense of calmness in her now that she knew what she felt about the original. Emily honestly had been nervous that she would end up falling for Elijah but she was glad that wasn't the case and she could just be herself around him.

Elijah playfully rolled his brown eyes at the human girl in the drivers seat but he didn't say anything. Instead he and the human girl shared a series of chuckles together as they both felt more relaxed now that everything was out in the open. It was as if they were old friends.

However, the calmness between the Gilbert girl and the original vampire immediately became thick with tension as Emily slowly pulled in front of the Salvatore boarding house. "Well, this should be fun," Emily sarcastically uttered as she pulled the blue Camaro in front of the boarding house before she and Elijah silently headed to the front door.

Emily walked straight through the door without knocking - because what's the point when she basically lived there already. But before Emily could see her probably frustrated bodyguards, so she was stopped when the original behind her cleared his throat. The Gilbert girl looked at Elijah in confusion for a second before she immediately rolled her green eyes.

"Duh," Emily muttered as she had totally forgot that the vampire needed to be invited in again after his death. The Gilbert girl fixed her expression a second later as she shot the original a wide, amused smirk. "Elijah, my bestie," the human doppelganger began before she told the vampire with a bright smile shining proudly across her lips, "you may come in."

Elijah shook his head with an amused chuckle as he stepped over the threshold after being invited back into the Salvatore boarding house. "Why thank you," the original vampire playfully praised the brunette girl in the same manner she had used before Elijah lightly placed his hand onto Emily's back and lead her towards the living room, where he could hear the three bodyguards hurriedly arguing with one another.

The Gilbert girl took a deep breath when she and Elijah were just outside the living room as she prepared herself what was about to happen - probably with a lot of arguing from Damon - from her choice in trusting the original. The human doppelganger gave Elijah an assuring nod after a solid three minutes once she was ready enough to face her vampire bodyguards before she and Elijah finally entered the living room, where Emily's three protective bodyguards instantly turned and faced Emily and the original beside her.

The first vampire in the living room to move happened to be Emily's boyfriend as Stefan vamp sped up to her before he pulled the human girl into a tight hug - along with pulling her away from Elijah. The younger Salvatore stroked the right side of Emily's face as he silently looked down her body for any signs that she had been harmed. However, when Stefan couldn't find a single mark on her body, the green eyed vampire placed a soft kiss onto Emily's lips as he tried to make his body relax now that he had the love of his life back in his arms.

The moment between the human and the vampire couple was way too soon interrupted for Stefan's opinion as the angry voice of his brother interrupted his moment with Emily as Damon growled towards the human girl while he practically glared daggers at the original, "now you've invited him in?"

Emily released a heavy sigh as she knew someone - most likely Damon - would start the yelling sooner rather than later. The Gilbert girl had expecting it, so she wasn't surprised or shaken by Damon's yelling. Instead, Emily stepped away from her boyfriend, with Stefan's arm wrapped protectively around her waist, before she stared over at the older Salvatore with her own glare. "Yes, Damon," the human doppelganger muttered as she crossed her arms over her chest in annoyance before she explained, "Elijah has another way to protect me in the sacrifice."

The blue eyed vampire gazed across at the Gilbert girl for a silent and tense moment before slowly moved his bright but angry irises over to the original and sarcastically asked, "really?" Damon honestly didn't give a single care to what Elijah promised to Emily. He still wasn't going to trust anything he had to say when his girlfriend's sister and one of his friends' life was on the line.

"Yes," Elijah uttered as he nodded his head. "The three of you will come to no harm at my hands," the original promised as he glanced between the two brothers and the Gilbert vampire before he requested, "I only ask for one thing in return, though."

"What is it?" Elena curiously inquired as she also moved closer to her twin sister and grabbed ahold of Emily's hand that was down by her side as she, like the younger Salvatore, felt like she needed to be touching Emily now that she was back to help remind herself to relax and that her sister was safe again.

"An apology," the original vampire simply requested.

The older Salvatore instantly screwed up his with an expression mixed with confusion and disgust before he questioned as he if the original request was a foreign concept, "a what?"

However, before the original vampire could repeat himself, the younger Salvatore immediately turned his attention onto Elijah, who stood only a few spaces to Emily's left before he apologized like the original wanted. "I am sorry for the part that I played in your death," Stefan stated as he subconsciously squeezed Emily's hand, the one that Elena wasn't currently holding, before he explained, "I was protecting Emily and I will always do everything in my power to keep her safe."

Elijah stared across the second youngest vampire in the room for a moment before he murmured with a look of understanding displayed across his face as he, too, would do everything he could to protect the human Petrova doppelganger, "I understand."

The Gilbert vampire realized that it was her turn to apologize when the original's light brown irises locked onto her like an assassin finding their target. Elena briefly closed her eyes as she took a deep breath before she focused onto Elijah. "I'm sorry that we killed you," the Gilbert vampire began her honest apology before she took a soft glance over to her twin sister as she continued to speak to the original, "this may not help my cause, but I would do it again in a heart beat. Emily is my sister, my twin, and I will always protect her first."

Elena released a heavy sigh as she forced her brown eyes off of the human Petrova doppelganger and back over to the original vampire before she stated, "I don't trust you, but Emily does. So, if she says you know a way to keep her alive, then I believe in you, too." The Gilbert girl felt anxious about putting her trust in Elijah but, like she said, she trusted that Emily knew what she was doing and she would always follow her twin into the deepest ends of the Earth.

Elijah nodded his head only once at the youngest vampire's apology. "I appreciate your honesty, Elena," the original commented as he accepted her words - despite the fact that the Gilbert vampire uttered that she would kill him again if she got the chance.

The living room in the Salvatore boarding house soon grew tense in silence as everyone's eyes slowly drifted over to the last vampire, who had yet to apologize to the original. However, when Damon stubbornly stood there after a full three minutes of nothing but awkward quietness, the Gilbert girl released a heavy sigh before she softly told the older Salvatore, "there's nothing you can do to stop this, Damon. The sacrifice will happen no matter what we do. We just need to be prepared for it - which we are." Emily gave the the blue eyed vampire a small smile as she knew Damon was just worried before she explained that they were ready, "Bonnie's loaded with power to kill Klaus and Elijah has a plan to save me from completely dying."

The older Salvatore stared across at the Gilbert girl with a hint of gentleness to his currently hard and angry blue irises as he felt anxious for Emily and her safety. However, Damon didn't say that out loud, though. Instead, he slowly moved his eyes over to the original before he questioned, "is that true?"

Elijah nodded his head before he calmly uttered as he affirmed what the older Salvatore thought, "yes, it is."

Once Damon got the original's answer, something that he didn't even care to hear, he moved his blue irises back to the human doppelganger before he interrogated in a frustrated and angry tone, "and you trust him? You are actually going to put your life on the line because some original says all the words you wanna hear?"

The Gilbert girl, once again, released another heavy sigh as she could tell that Damon still wasn't willing to trust Elijah nor anything he had to say along with the fact the older Salvatore was also scared - even though he would never speak his feelings out loud. "Yes, Damon," the human doppelganger uttered as she tried to assure the blue eyed vampire, "he knows what's he talking about. It's not lies. Elijah has a way to protect me like we have always wanted."

Damon immediately shook his head in disbelief before he slowly glanced at each face around the living room - Emily's confident one, Stefan's trusting one, and Elena's hopeful one. "You are all crazy if you think he'll keep Emily alive," Damon growled out as he angrily pointed at the original and snapped before he stormed out of the room, "you can all go to hell."

The older Salvatore was completely and utterly pissed that Emily was being so trusting with the original when it was her life on the line. Damon cared about the human girl like the little sister he never got to have, so Damon felt like he was frustrated that the human girl wasn't listening to him about how this was going to backfire on her and they would probably lose her forever.

"H-He's just worried about you," the Gilbert vampire softly told her twin sister as she gave Emily's hand a small squeeze once her very angry boyfriend stomped up the staircase. Elena completely understood Damon's anger as she had felt the same way when Emily had told her that she was trusting the original. The Gilbert vampire had been feeling a lot of emotions since then like how she felt worried and nervous about her twin hanging around Elijah along with feeling angry and conflicted for that same reason as she didn't even trust Elijah to begin with.

However, ultimately, the Gilbert vampire only wanted what was best for Emily and if her twin sister thought that putting all of her trust in the original to keep her alive, then Elena guessed she would do the same.

Emily gave her sister's hand a squeeze right back as she shot Elena an assuring smile. "It's okay," the Gilbert girl murmured, "I get it." Emily honestly did. She knew that they all would feel a range of emotions from her trusting Elijah - someone that they had already killed and basically betrayed. Emily was expecting for her protective bodyguards to be angry, so she didn't take offense that Damon was pissed. She just wished he would understand why she had to do this, though.

The Gilbert vampire released a small sigh as she was glad that Emily wasn't angry at the older Salvatore or even hated him again - especially when they just became friends again. Elena had only wanted them to get along as her two favorite people, so she was afraid Damon's attitude towards the original's plan would have ruined that. "I'm going to go make sure he's okay," Elena murmured as she gave her twin sister's hand one last squeeze before she headed upstairs to check on her hot-headed boyfriend.

The living room in the Salvatore boarding house grew silent once the Gilbert vampire had left for a minute or so before the original lightly cleared his throat. Elijah, once he had Emily's attention on him, told the human girl as he slowly walked backwards to where the foyer was, "I will be back tomorrow morning with the supplies for the sacrifice."

Emily took a few steps towards the original, who had came to a stop at the edge of the living room, before she shot Elijah a thankful smile to show her gratitude for what he was doing for her along with the information that he had gave her today. "Thank you, Lijah," the Gilbert girl vocally showed her praise before she murmured out a goodbye, "I guess we'll see you soon."

Elijah nodded his head as he promised, "you will." The original vampire then stretched out his arm and gave Emily's hand a small squeeze to assure her that everything was going to be okay as he could practically smell the nervousness coming off of her. Elijah shot the human girl one last soft smile before he silently turned around and took his exit out of the Salvatore boarding house.

"What was that about?" Stefan instantly questioned with his brows furrowed once the front door had been slammed shut and the original had left before he swiftly pulled Emily tightly into his chest with a tint of jealousy to his voice - something that the Salvatore vampire would never admit to anyone.

The Gilbert girl couldn't help the amused chuckle that escaped through her lips when she looked up to her boyfriend and saw the green eyed monster clearly displayed in Stefan's eyes. "What was what about?" Emily teasingly questioned as if she had no clue what the Salvatore vampire was going on about.

Stefan playfully rolled his green eyes at his girlfriend as he knew the human girl was teasing him. The Salvatore vampire didn't comment on it, though. Instead, Stefan tightened his arms around Emily's waist before he questioned with a slight pout to his pink lips, "what's with the touching my girlfriend?"

A wide smirk slowly pulled up onto the human Petrova doppelganger's face from how cute her boyfriend looked as he pouted at her. "Aw," Emily couldn't help but coo as she reached up and pinched the Salvatore vampire's cheeks before she teasing inquired, "is my baby jealous of a little ole original?"

Stefan grabbed ahold of the human girl's right wrist that was holding his face while he stared deep into Emily's sparkling green irises. "I'm not jealous, I'm protective," the Salvatore vampire partly lied with a complete straight face before he slowly leaned down and placed a passionate kiss onto Emily's warm lips.

The Gilbert girl couldn't help but grin all throughout the kiss - partly from seeing Stefan getting jealous and partly because he was denying it. The loving embrace between the human and vampire couple lasted for a couple of minutes as both Emily and Stefan felt so at home in each other's arms. Emily, once she could feel all the tension melt away from Stefan's body against hers, slowly pulled away before she murmured as she knew her bodyguards would want to know what Elijah told her, "come on. I have some stories to tell you guys."

However, though, when the Gilbert girl went to walk away to go get her twin sister and her boyfriend's brother for story time, Emily was instantly stopped by the tight grip that Stefan had on her waist. "Give me a second," the younger Salvatore murmured as he pulled the human girl further into his chest.

Emily furrowed her brows in confusion as she glanced up to her boyfriend, who's temple was leaning on her forehead. The human girl had figured that her protective bodyguards were dying to know about what the original had told her, so she was definitely lost at the moment. "What is it?" Emily questioned as she voiced her puzzlement.

The green eyed vampire tightened his arms around Emily's waist before he slowly leaned his head down until his face was pressed into the human girl's collarbone. "I just need to know you're here," Stefan softly murmured after a full minute had passed as he listened to the calm heartbeat that always soothed him.

The Gilbert girl's heart instantly softened at Stefan's almost broken and vulnerable words. "Take all the time you need," Emily gently murmured back as she began to rub her fingers through the Salvatore vampire's messy brunette hair at the base of his neck. "I'm right here," the human girl assured her boyfriend as she tried to get rid of Stefan's stress.

"You're the best thing that has ever happened to me," the Salvatore vampire confessed after a full six minutes had passed between him and Emily as he held her close and breathed in her sweet scent. "You're my world and I will lose my mind if something like the sacrifice takes you away from me," Stefan continued as he stared deeply into Emily's green irises that always made him feel at home. The Salvatore vampire lightly shook his head before he added, "and I absolutely hate that you are trusting Elijah with your life."

The human Petrova doppelganger immediately opened her mouth to defend herself but Stefan quickly uttered as he gently rubbed the side of Emily's face, "but I trust you." The green eyed vampire placed a soft kiss onto the human girl's lips and one on her forehead before he murmured against her warm skin, "and if you think that he can save you, then I'm on board."

Emily couldn't help the heavy sigh of relief that escaped through her lips and simultaneously relaxed her whole body from knowing Stefan wasn't going to fight her on this. "Thank you," the Gilbert girl murmured as she showed her praise before she buried her face into the Salvatore vampire's chest. Emily was extremely grateful that Stefan was willing to give Elijah's plan a chance. She knew everyone was on the fence, so she was happy that she would at least have Stefan on her side during all of this.

"I just want you to be safe," Stefan softly murmured as he pulled the human girl even closer into his chest so each part of their bodies were pressed against one another. The younger Salvatore closed his green irises as he leaned his head onto Emily's temple as he absorbed the comfort of having her in his arms before he whispered, "I love you."

The Gilbert girl instantly smiled against Stefan's brown Henley as she tightened her arms around her boyfriend's midsection. "I love you, too," Emily whispered right back before she promised, "and I'm not going anywhere." Emily may be nervous out of her mind about what could happen tomorrow and what it could mean for her in being the strongest witch in existence but as Emily was in the comfort of Stefan's arms, she couldn't find herself to care at the moment.

Okay, so everyone knows I'm going to temporarily kill off a main character. Well, my plan for after I finish season 2 is to have a storyline between the two seasons before it picks back up at Emily and Elena's birthday. I already have fourteen chapters planned for it. I hope you enjoy the journey!
