It was pitch black dark by the time Stefan had pulled his red Porsche back in front of the Salvatore boarding house with his hand rested protectively onto the Gilbert girl's thigh as he tried to absorb as much of Emily and her presence as he could while he mentally prepared himself for what was to come tonight.

It absolutely pained the Salvatore vampire to even think about letting his girlfriend out of his sight on a regular basis but the fact that the feared hybrid was going to take her absolutely crushed Stefan. He knew no time was going to ever prepare him for what was going to happen tonight but he still tried to get ready for that feared moment as he took a shaky deep breath and reminded himself that Emily would come back to him in the end.

Emily, who had been peacefully sitting in the passenger seat of the red sports car while she enjoyed her last human moment, swiftly twisted her head around to face her boyfriend when she felt as his hand tightened around her thigh. They had been sitting in the vehicle for the past five minutes but Emily knew that the Salvatore vampire needed that time right now.

However, Emily soon grew worried by the way Stefan was gripping her leg and how he was like in a trance as he kept his green irises glued onto the side of the boarding house in front of them. The Gilbert girl lightly placed her hand over her boyfriend's as to not frighten him before she gently inquired, "you doing okay?"

Stefan, finally and thankfully, got out of his anxiety ridden mind as soon as he heard the soft tone coming from his girlfriend before he turned his head and looked over to the worried Gilbert girl. The Salvatore vampire shot Emily a small but tense smile as he himself was still anxious about tonight before he uttered with a hint of humor in his voice, "I think I should be the one asking you that."

The Gilbert girl released a small chuckle as she shook her head in amusement. However, Emily didn't say anything after that. She only gave Stefan's hand, that was resting on her thigh, a small squeeze before she silently opened the passenger door and began to exit the red Porsche.

Emily couldn't help the soft smile that immediately pulled onto her lips, though, when she stood up and fully exited the car as she noticed that the Salvatore vampire was standing right in front of her. The Gilbert girl moved up onto her tippy toes as she wrapped her arms around Stefan's neck before she placed a soft kiss onto his lips. "Everything is going to be okay," Emily murmured as she assured her boyfriend while she aimlessly played with the ends of his brunette hair. "We're going to get through this, okay?" The Gilbert girl continued to comfort her boyfriend, "and I'm going to be okay."

The Salvatore vampire silently stared into Emily's bright green eyes for a moment as he tried to see if she really was okay like she was saying and really believed that everything would actually be okay as well. However, when Stefan found only truthfulness behind her gaze, Stefan nodded his head as he released a deep sigh. That was honestly all that Stefan wanted for his girlfriend. He just wanted to make sure that Emily was okay and that she was handling all of this fairly well - despite the fact that he was a nervous wreck himself.

The Salvatore vampire slowly brought his forehead down until it was rested against Emily's temple as he breathed in her comforting scent for what could be the last time until everything became complete chaos. "I love you so much," Stefan softly murmured as he wrapped his arms protectively around the Gilbert girl's waist.

"I love you, too," Emily softly whispered back before she used her point and middle fingers to tilt the Salvatore vampire's face up until she was looking into her favorite pair of orbs. The Gilbert girl leaned up onto her tippy toes as she smiled softly at her boyfriend before she swiftly pulled him into a passionate and emotional kiss.

However, the bittersweet moment between the human and the vampire couple was soon interrupted, though, when Stefan suddenly felt as someone was staring right at them. The protectiveness and wariness in the Salvatore vampire wanted to keep his girlfriend safe, so he quickly ended their loving embrace as he pulled away and turned around - where he noticed a man, no a vampire, intensively watching them.

Stefan had just this feeling inside of him that felt like the guy standing across from them was Klaus by just the evilness that practically surrounded him, so the Salvatore vampire quickly moved to stand entirely in front of his girlfriend as his green eyes turned hard while he stared across to the feared hybrid. Stefan knew it was probably pointless when they knew why Klaus was here, but Stefan just wanted to protect the human girl as long as he could.

"You got me all nervous," the feared hybrid finally spoke up after he had stared across at the couple for a solid three minutes with a small joke while a wide smirk played on his lips. Klaus slowly walked towards the young vampire and his doppelganger before he muttered to the Gilbert girl as he focused his dark blue-green irises solely onto her, "I thought maybe you'd do something stupid."

However, when no one made a single sound, much to Klaus' amusement, the feared hybrid rose his right eyebrow as he continued to keep his eyes locked onto his doppelganger before he inquired, "you ready, my sunflower?"

The Gilbert girl couldn't help but roll her green eyes when she heard that stupid nickname that she knew would never go away. "Let's get this over with," Emily mumbled in annoyance before she moved around her boyfriend to walk towards the ever-so feared hybrid.

However, though, before the human Petrova doppelganger could even lift one of her heeled ankle boots from the driveway of the Salvatore boarding house, she was instantly stopped as Stefan quickly grabbed ahold of her wrist and exclaimed sternly as he shook his head, "no."

The feared hybrid released a series of tsks as he shook his head from the actions of the younger vampire. "I wouldn't," Klaus warned Stefan before he stated as he glared his blue-green irises at the Salvatore vampire, "no reason for you to die, too."

Emily knew that they really shouldn't test the hybrid at the moment and anger him, so the Gilbert girl quickly turned around and faced her boyfriend. "Hey, hey, hey," Emily softly murmured as she placed her hands on either side of his face, so he wouldn't be glaring at Klaus. "This was the plan, right?" The Gilbert girl inquired before she stated once Stefan had silently nodded his head in agreement, "no else needs to get involved. Everything is going to be just fine, I promise."

Emily slowly wrapped her hands, that were softly pressed against the vampire's cold cheeks, around his neck before she pulled him into a passionate kiss to show Stefan just how much she cared for him. The Gilbert girl pulled away after a moment of their loving embrace before she whispered with as much emotion that she could put into her words, "I love you so much."

The Salvatore vampire silently nodded his head with tears clouding his green eyes. "I know," Stefan whispered back as he softly ran his thumb across the Gilbert girl's cheek. "I love you, too," Stefan quietly murmured as he stared across at his girlfriend with so much adoration in his gaze, "I love you so so much, baby."

The Gilbert girl smiled with tears in her own eyes as she knew that this would be her last moment with Stefan as a human. Emily knew that she couldn't cry, though, when she needed to be the strong one between herself and Stefan or she would never want to leave, so Emily took a deep breath before she promised to her boyfriend, "it's going to be okay. We're going to be okay."

Emily shot the Salvatore vampire a teasing smile before she joked with a watery smile, "you can't get rid of me that easily, you know that." The Gilbert girl listened to the heavenly sound as Stefan chuckled for a moment before she pulled him into one last kiss. Emily knew her boyfriend would try to stop her - as a reflex, not because he didn't trust her - so as soon as their lips were apart, the Gilbert girl turned and gave Klaus a small nod to tell him that she was ready and before Emily knew it, she was suddenly swept off of her feet.

Emily had never been a fan of the feeling of vampire speed, so when she felt everything move around in hyper speed, the Gilbert girl squeezed her green eyes closed while she tightly held onto Klaus' black jacket. However, when Emily didn't feel the slap of her hair against her face and the loud wind in her ears, she slowly peaked her eyes open before she realized that they were standing in the middle of nowhere.

"You sure do like to be close with men don't you, sunflower?" Klaus teased his doppelganger when he had realized that the Gilbert girl still was holding onto his clothing. The hybrid glanced down to Emily with a wide smirk playing on his lips as he continued to tease her, "first it was the vampire boyfriend and then it was the werewolf best friend and, of course, you can't forget the dashingly sexy hybrid."

Emily immediately rolled her green eyes from the hybrid's teasing words as she swiftly pushed herself out of Klaus' arms before she muttered as she began to walk away from the annoying supernatural being, "don't flatter yourself." Emily honestly had never met someone who could irritate her so much, except for maybe John or Damon, but she was proven wrong every single time that Klaus opened his mouth.

Klaus released a deep chuckle from how easy it was to get under his doppelganger's skin. "You're going the wrong way, sunflower," the hybrid told the human girl with amusement in his voice after watching her take a few steps in the opposite direction of their destination.

The Gilbert girl swiftly twirled her head around before she looked back to the hybrid with her brows pulled together. Emily huffed out a sigh when she saw Klaus was pointing towards the other direction and that she had, in fact, went the wrong way. "Whatever," Emily mumbled with annoyance still shining throughout her voice before she fast walked past the hybrid - after she had purposely bumped her shoulder into his chest.

"You are definitely Darina's doppelganger," the feared hybrid commented in amusement as he sped up so he was walking side by side with the Gilbert girl.

"Oh, yeah?" Emily inquired as her curiousness got the better of her from the mention of her doppelganger. The Gilbert girl glanced over to Klaus before she continue to question, "and why's that?"

A wide grin instantly pulled up onto the feared hybrid's face now that he had Emily's attention and from the fact that she was actually speaking to him without any annoyance in her voice. Klaus lightly bumped his shoulder into his doppelganger's before he uttered, "she couldn't stand me either."

Emily couldn't help the small chuckle that escaped her lips from the fact that she definitely wasn't that different with her doppelganger when it came to the hybrid. "Oh, what a surprise," the Gilbert girl sarcastically gaped before she lightly shook her head and muttered, "I would have never have guessed."

Klaus stared down at the Gilbert girl beside him with a look of amusement shining through his blue-green eyes before he commented with a small twitch of his head, "you know, If I didn't have to kill tonight, I think we would have been great friends." The feared hybrid enjoyed how Emily didn't take any of his crap. It was definitely refreshing from everyone else who would always act like they were walking on eggshells around him.

The Gilbert girl instantly released a scoff at the hybrid's words. "Yeah, right," Emily muttered as she rolled her eyes at even the thought of being friendly with Klaus. "I already have one egoistic vampire friend," the Gilbert girl stated as she immediately thought of Damon before she commented, "I definitely don't need another one."

Klaus released a throaty chuckle as he glanced down at the human Petrova doppelganger beside him before he mused with his signature smirk still painted onto his pink tinted lips, "whatever you say, sunflower."

The bantering conversation between the human girl and the hybrid soon came to a stop, though, when Klaus had spotted their destination. Klaus lightly placed his hand onto his doppelganger's back before he lead her down the brick walkway and up the porch of a simple but expensive house that he had been renting for the past day and a half. "This is where you'll be for the time being," Klaus informed his doppelganger as he walked her through the front door and through the small foyer.

The Gilbert girl couldn't help but curiously look around the unfamiliar house as her annoying kidnapper lead her through the place with his hand still settled on her back as if he was afraid that she would run away. Like I could really get too far, Emily thought as she silently rolled her eyes.

Emily soon realized as she glanced around the house was that it was probably compelled since she could see pictures of a happy family spread all throughout the place and Emily knew they definitely didn't know an evil and asshole of a person like Klaus when they had two small children. I wonder where the family is, the Gilbert girl worriedly thought as she moved her green irises quickly around the room as she tried to see if she could find any clues to where the innocent family were.

"Greta," the loud voice of the feared hybrid called out, which ultimately jumped Emily out of her thoughts about the house, as he lead his doppelganger into the living room - where he instantly spotted his witch. Klaus pushed the Gilbert girl towards the middle of the room as he ordered, "keep an eye on her until I get back."

'Watch it, asshole," Emily immediately growled as soon as she turned around and faced the hybrid after she had practically tripped over her ankle boots from the harsh push on her back. "I don't think you want your prized possession to be injured," Emily couldn't help but sass. The Gilbert girl didn't know what it was but she just couldn't stand Klaus. It was like even being in the same room as him caused her to want to snap at him for just looking at her. I think I know how Darina felt, Emily thought as she figured this was the doppelganger connection working its magic.

However, much to Emily disappointment, the feared hybrid didn't even look at her as he continued to speak to his witch about tonight. Emily honestly didn't have a clue to what the hell they were talking about with all this talk about hearts, blood, and spells. The Gilbert girl figured it was about the ritual for tonight and she definitely wanted to hear any of it when she was about to be involved in it, so Emily rolled her green eyes at the duo before she silently stumbled over to the large window behind the loveseat that ran from the top of the wall and down with crystals surrounding the outline of the glass.

The Gilbert girl's plan to ignore the hybrid and the witch to get some peace and quiet ended up being fruitless, though, as the loud and deep voice of Klaus called out to her only a minute later, "sunflower!" The hybrid couldn't help the smirk that pulled onto his lips when the annoyed girl shot him a glare before Klaus grew serious as he told her as if he was scolding a young child, "stay out of trouble while I'm gone."

Emily immediately rolled her green eyes at the hybrid before she muttered in annoyance as she carelessly waved her hand, "yeah, yeah, yeah." The Gilbert girl silently watched as the hybrid smirked at her before she couldn't help but yell out to him as he made his way towards the front door, "I hope you trip and fall on a dagger!" Emily knew it was pointless to say since Klaus was far away but it certainly did help her release some of the anger that she felt when she was around the hybrid.

The Gilbert girl huffed out a small sigh when she heard the sound of the front door close before she, for the first time, turned and looked over to the witch in the room. Emily soon realized that she was the one who had vervained Caroline at Mystic Park. "So..." Emily slowly began as she took a few steps towards the witch before she curiously inquired with a raise of her right eyebrow, "any chance you have a vampire and a werewolf lying around this place?"

Emily knew her question was pointless since Klaus was smarter than to bring her to the place where he would hide the Forbes vampire and the Lockwood werewolf but she just couldn't help but to have hope that she could help her two best friends. The Gilbert girl also kinda hoped that they weren't here, too, as that would mean that Damon and Alaric would have a better chance at finding them and saving them before the sacrifice.

The witch, Greta, completely ignored the Gilbert girl's question - much to Emily's dismay. Instead, Greta simply ordered as she shot the human Petrova doppelganger a short glare, "stay in my sight and don't talk." Greta didn't spare Emily another look before she fast walked over to the coffee table like a woman on a mission. The witch focused all her attention on the grimoire and the spell for tonight before she warned the human girl for the last time, "I don't care who you are, I won't hesitate to subdue you."

Emily couldn't help but immediately roll her green eyes, for the millionth time, at the witch's threats and release a loud huff as she realized that Greta wasn't going to be at least approachable now that Klaus was gone. It's not like I wanna be her friend, Emily thought to herself since Greta was half the reason for why her two best friends were missing. Emily had just figured that they could be civil with one another since they would be stuck with one another for awhile.

However, now that Emily knew that Greta was going to be a bossy little witch with an attitude, she decided that she didn't even want to try to start up a conversation. The Gilbert girl would rather save her energy and focus on tonight, so Emily rolled her green eyes, once again, at her 'caretaker' before she walked back to the large window and gazed up to the full moon that would cause the end of her human life.

The Gilbert girl ignored the witch in the background speaking Latin as she closed her green irises and took a deep breath. Come on, Damon, please save them, Emily mentally prayed to herself as she hoped that the older Salvatore would be able to find Tyler and Caroline before Klaus would show up for them. That was the only thought on Emily's mind at the moment as she knew their plan was rock solid.

Emily just never took in account that Klaus would use someone she loved, so that was what she was most worried about for the sacrifice. The Gilbert girl didn't want any of her loved ones to be caught in the middle of all of this when Klaus was only here in Mystic Falls because of her.

Emily couldn't help the shaky breath that escaped her lips as she leaned her warm forehead onto the cold window in front of her as her anxiety began to worsen from the worry of losing someone close to her. Come on, Damon, the Gilbert girl practically chanted in her head as she hoped and prayed for no one else to be hurt tonight.

Everything is going to be okay. Everyone is going to be okay. No one I love will die tonight, Emily mentally reminded herself as to keep herself calm, Klaus will die tonight. I will die tonight. But I will become the strongest witch ever. It's going to be okay. However, though, as Emily chanted these words in her head, she couldn't help the bad feeling in the pit of her stomach that something, in fact, was going to go terribly wrong.
