It has been three days since Emily had told her friends and loved ones about the heart resurrection spell. It had been quite a busy few days since everyone agreed to bring Elena back to the side of the living.

The Radkova witch and the Bennett witch had been practicing the spell over and over again until Emily had it perfectly memorized. Emily had also been using the Forbes vampire as her Elena stand-in to make sure she was positioning the boy in the correct spot on the pentagram.

While the trio were focusing on that, the Radkova witch put Damon, Alaric, and Jenna in charge of digging her twin sister's casket out of the Mystic Falls Cemetery and bringing it back to the Salvatore boarding house without any human residents noticing them.

Emily didn't really have time to check in on the vampires and the vampire hunter on their task since she was so busy with the spell but the Radkova witch was pleased when she found out that they got it done. Emily didn't even have to ask. It was two nights ago when Emily got out of the shower and she saw Damon, Alaric, and Jenna carrying the casket into a guest bedroom at the Salvatore boarding house. it was definitely a weird hallway run-in.

Emily didn't really have a task or role for Jeremy and Tyler like she did for everyone else. However, that didn't stop her brother and her best friend from still showing up at the Salvatore boarding house every few hours. The werewolf and human duo would just show up to make sure Emily was eating enough and that she was in good spirits. The Gilbert girl truthfully appreciated Jeremy and Tyler's little task as it helped Emily relax when she was stressing herself out too much.

It was around six in the evening when everything was getting all set up for the heart resurrection spell. Bonnie and Jeremy had been in charge of creating a clearing in the backyard of the Salvatore boarding house, so they would have plenty of room. The Bennett witch then drew out a large pentagram in the dirt before Jeremy placed each white candle on the five points of the pentagram.

Everyone was standing at the edge of the Salvatore backyard while the witch of the hour was nowhere to be seen. Emily had wanted some time to herself, so she was currently sitting at the edge of her boyfriend's bed inside of Stefan's bedroom. Emily wasn't regretting her choices or anything. The Gilbert girl just wanted to keep her mind as calm and as clear as possible until she had to perform the heart resurrection spell. Emily wanted to be at her strongest to bring her twin sister back.

The Radkova witch was so in the zone that Emily flinched when she heard a knock on Stefan's bedroom door. The Gilbert girl took a deep breath to calm herself from the shock she felt from the interruption before Emily called out to the unknown person, "come in!"

The Lockwood werewolf soon appeared through the doorway with a soft smile playing on his lips. "Hey," Tyler quietly murmured after he closed the door behind before he silently crossed the bedroom. Tyler took a seat on the bed beside the witch of the hour before he gently took a hold of Emily's hand. "How are you feeling?" The Lockwood werewolf gently inquired as he softly ran his thumb across Emily's hand.

The Radkova witch squeezed Tyler's hand before she admitted, "I'm nervous but I'm ready to bring Lena back."

Emily knew everyone believed in her but she still couldn't help to feel nervous about completely the heart resurrection spell. This would be hardest spell that Emily has ever done. Emily was just nervous that she would screw it up in some way. Emily knew it was stupid when she was a Radkova witch but she still felt anxious that on the off chance she was going to fail.

"Hey," the Lockwood werewolf softly murmured as he brought Emily's hand to his beating heart. Tyler waited until the Gilbert girl's green eyes were focused on him before Tyler stated, "you got this, Em. You are the strongest witch I know."

"I'm only the second witch you know," Emily muttered with a light chuckle.

"Okay, that's true," the Lockwood werewolf agreed with a small pout. "But that did get you to smile!" Tyler stated with a wide grin stretched across his face. The Lockwood werewolf squeezed Emily's hand as he told her, "all seriousness, though, we all believe in you. We all know you can do this."

"Thank you," the Radkova witch quietly murmured. It meant a lot to Emily that everyone was confident in her when she wasn't feeling the same way about herself. Emily knew it was just her thoughts rooting against her. The Gilbert girl knew she could do this. She's a Radkova witch and a Petrova decedent for crying out loud.

"I will be right there with you the whole time," the Lockwood werewolf assured the young witch as he placed his other palm on top of his and Emily's enclosed hands against his chest. "I promise, I won't let anything go wrong," Tyler vowed with so much emotions swirling in his brown eyes.

The Radkova witch looked across at Tyler with a soft smile. "Thank you, Ty, really," Emily murmured as she untangled their hands before the Gilbert girl wrapped her arms around the Lockwood werewolf's neck for a tight embrace. "Thank you for always being by my side," the Radkova witch whispered against Tyler's neck.

"I wouldn't want to be anywhere else," the Lockwood werewolf murmured as he squeezed Emily's waist and snuzzled his forehead against the young witch's temple.

The witch and werewolf duo sat in each other's embrace for a few extra seconds before the Lockwood boy slowly pulled away. "You ready?" Tyler inquired as he softly stroked Emily's right cheek with the pad of his thumb.

The Gilbert girl sucked in a deep breath and slowly released it before Emily silently nodded her head. Emily stood up from her boyfriend's king sized bed before the Radkova witch held out her hand to her best friend as she confidently murmured, "I'm ready."

The Lockwood werewolf grinned up at Emily before he slipped his fingers through hers and stood up from the bed. "You got this," Tyler assured the young witch once more before the Lockwood werewolf began to lead Emily downstairs of the Salvatore boarding house and headed to the backyard.

The Radkova witch immediately took notice of all of her friends and family standing on the outer edge of the pentagram before Emily locked her green eyes on her twin sister laying inside of the star shaped drawing.

Emily surprised by how calm she instantly felt when she saw all of her loved ones. It was like all of Emily's nervousness just disappeared when the Radkova witch saw her friends and family's smiling faces. It gave Emily all the confidence that she needed to bring her half way back.

The Gilbert girl pulled her palm out of Tyler's hand before she waved at everyone with a light chuckle. "Hey, guys," Emily murmured as she greeted her loved ones.

The Bennett witch was the first one to approach Emily before she pulled the Gilbert girl into a tight embrace. "You got this," Bonnie whispered into the Radkova witch's ear, "you can do it."

Emily hugged the Bennett witch just as tightly and murmured, "thank you." The Gilbert girl already knew Bonnie trusted her and believed in her but it still felt good to hear out loud, especially from another witch.

The next person who walked up to the witch of the hour was the Salvatore vampire as he crossed the backyard and approached the two witches. Damon shot the Gilbert girl a light smirk before he grew serious as he ordered, "don't do anything stupid, alright?"

Emily released a light chuckle as she nodded her head. "I won't," the Radkova witch promised.

The Salvatore vampire leaned down and placed a soft kiss onto Emily's temple for a silent good luck. "Let's bring our girl home," Damon whispered as he connected his blue eyes with Emily's green ones.

The Radkova witch immediately grinned up at the Salvatore vampire. "Let's do it," Emily excitedly exclaimed.

The vampire hunter was the next person to walk up to the Radkova witch. Alaric raised up a see-through plastic baggie as if it belonged inside of a hospital. "Uh, this is the heart," Alaric awkwardly stated as he held the bag out for the Gilbert girl. "Good thing we saved it, huh?" The vampire hunter joked.

"Yeah," Emily muttered as she released a light chuckle before she grabbed the bag from the vampire hunter. The Gilbert girl silently opened the plastic bag and found her twin sister's heart inside.

"This is so weird," Emily muttered to herself before she grabbed the heart in her palm. It was definitely a strange experience. Emily always wished to be a cardiothoracic surgeon but touching her own sister's heart was definitely something else.

The Radkova witch ignored the warm and veiny texture of the organ as she slowly walked towards her sister's grey and dead body before Emily gently dropped down to her knees to the left side of the deceased girl.

Emily quickly felt relieved when she noticed that her twin sister was wearing a simple crop top. The Radkova witch had completely forgot that she would need access to Elena's chest. This way, Emily wouldn't have to rip up her twin sister's clothing.

Emily knew she had the Forbes vampire to thank for this. The Gilbert girl made a mental note to thank Caroline later for choosing and changing Elena's outfit.

The Radkova witch took a deep breath as she stared into Elena's empty chest. It made Emily feel anxious to look at her sister's body and saw it bare of her heart.

Emily forced herself to calm down and remind herself that this is why she was here right now before the Radkova witch shakily and slowly placed Elena's heart back into it's original spot. It was definitely gross and awkward since Emily had to shove her hand into her twin sister's chest cavity before the Radkova witch finally placed the organ into the correct place.

The Lockwood werewolf quickly jumped in to help Emily when he noticed her trying to stand up from the ground. "I got you," Tyler murmured as he tightly held onto the Gilbert girl's left hand while his other hand was holding onto Emily's waist as he guided her up.

The Radkova witch shot Tyler a thankful smile before she released the werewolf's hand and turned to the only other witch. "Are you sure Lena's head is in the Earth point?" Emily worriedly inquired before she stated as she shook her head, "if it's not right, everything will go downhill from here."

The Bennett witch took a step towards the Gilbert girl before she promised as she placed her hand over her heart, "I made sure it was all done correctly. I even grabbed the white candles from Grams' things." Bonnie grinned across at the Radkova witch as she stated, "everything is in order. You just gotta do your thing."

Emily couldn't help but released a breath of relief as she silently nodded her head. The Gilbert girl knew everything had to be perfect or it would be all for nothing after the advice from Maria Radkova. Emily felt herself become calmer after knowing that the Bennett witch was sure that Elena's body was in the correct spot.

The Radkova witch briefly closed her green eyes as she silently went over the next step to the heart resurrection spell in her mind. Emily cringed when she realized it was time for the bleeding part. The Gilbert girl turned around and looked over to her aunt. "If you're still squeamish around blood, I would leave now," Emily advised to the new vampire.

Jenna immediately shook her head. "I can handle it," the Somers vampire promised as she tightly squeezed Alaric's hand (with her human strength) before she stated, "I want to be here." Jenna didn't want to miss this moment. She wanted to be right here when Elena woke up.

"Alright," Emily muttered as she nodded her head at her aunt before the Radkova witch glanced everyone else. "Does anyone happen to have a knife?" The Gilbert girl inquired with a light chuckle. Emily knew it was a strange request but it had to be done for the next step of the heart resurrection spell.

The Salvatore vampire was the one to make a move as he flicked out his fangs with a smirk. "Let's do this the right way," Damon tauntingly muttered.

The Gilbert girl playfully rolled her green eyes at the Salvatore vampire. "This is your only chance you'll get to bite me," Emily exclaimed as she pointed her finger at her boyfriend's brother.

"I'll savor every second of it, then," Damon jokingly stated.

While the Radkova witch and the Salvatore vampire were obviously just joking between each other, Tyler didn't see it in that way. "Watch yourself," the Lockwood werewolf growled as he glared at the vampire.

Damon rolled his blue eyes at the Lockwood boy. "Sit down, mutt, and be quiet," the Salvatore vampire ordered as he completely dismissed Tyler's little threat.

"Stop it," the Gilbert girl quickly commanded when she noticed Tyler taking a step towards Damon as if he was about to try something. Emily looked over to the Lockwood werewolf as she reminded her best friend, "this is something we have to do." Emily glanced over to the Salvatore vampire before she added, "and I trust Damon."

The Radkova witch waited for Tyler to calm down and back up before Emily walked over to her boyfriend's brother. Emily held out her wrist before she told the Salvatore vampire, "make it bloody."

Damon widely smirked as he muttered, "that's the only way I know how." The Salvatore vampire quickly grew serious after joking around as he grasped Emily's wrist in a gentle hold. Damon gave the young witch a reassuring small smile before the Salvatore vampire swiftly stuck his fangs into Emily's wrist.

"Shit," the Radkova witch cursed when she immediately felt the burning pain from her skin being tore open from Damon's sharp fangs.

"Emmie..." The Lockwood werewolf worriedly called out when he saw that she was hurting. Tyler took a cautious step towards his best friend incase he needed to jump in and help her.

Emily forcefully took a deep breath before she muttered, "I'm fine." The Gilbert girl definitely didn't need anyone trying to heal or help her when she needed to bleed in the first place.

The Radkova witch pushed down the burning pain she was feeling as she used her free hand to dip her point finger and her middle finger into her bleeding wound. Emily shakily breathed as she began to drag the blood from her ring finger and up her arm. The Gilbert girl ran out of blood halfway through, so she had to gather blood a few more times until there was a straight line of blood from her ring finger to her chest.

"You're doing great," the Bennett witch assured Emily as she kept a steady eye on the young witch as she watched Emily work through the spell. Bonnie could see the pain on the Gilbert girl's face but she hoped her words gave Emily the confidence to keep pushing forward.

Emily hurriedly nodded her head to show everyone that she was listening and that she was mentally still there while the Gilbert girl continued to ignore the pain. The Radkova witch slowly approached Elena's body before she dropped to her knees.

Emily began the same process all over again as she dragged her blood fingers across her twin sister's hand and up her arm. The Gilbert girl let out a small sob when she dug her fingers into her wound to gather as much blood as she could. Emily ignored the agony she felt as the young witch rubbed the blood all over Elena's dead heart.

"You doing okay, Princess?" The Salvatore vampire worriedly asked. Damon would have to be stupid to not notice how much pain the Gilbert girl was in. Damon hated having to witness it when he wished he could help her.

"I'm fine," the Radkova witch grunted as she sluggishly dropped her bloody hand to her side after she finished lathering Elena's heart with her blood.

"Why don't we heal you before we continue," the Forbes vampire suggested as she watched her best friend with a furrowed gaze. Caroline knew it couldn't be good for the young witch to be this hurt, especially before a dangerous spell.

"Caroline's right," the Bennett witch immediately agreed before she told Emily, "we don't need you focusing on the pain and getting distracted."

The Radkova witch could only mutter a small, "okay." Emily had completely forgotten how badly a vampire bite could hurt. It had been quite a while since Emily had to deal with one. The Gilbert girl hoped she wouldn't have to for a long time after this.

The Forbes vampire immediately used her enhanced speed to kneel in front of the exhausted witch after she got the okay from the aforementioned girl before he helped Emily stand up from the dirty ground. "I got you," Caroline softly murmured as she held on the Gilbert girl's waist with her left hand before she bit down on her right wrist.

The Forbes vampire let the blood flow out of the wound before Caroline held her bleeding wrist in front of Emily's face for her to drink.

The Radkova witch slowly wrapped her lips around Caroline's wrist before she began to swallow her best friend's blood. Emily only drank a little bit until she felt her wound heal itself before the Gilbert girl pulled away from Caroline's arm.

"Thanks," the Radkova witch mumbled before she wiped the streak of blood off her face with the back of her hand.

Caroline grinned down at her best friend. "Of course," the Forbes vampire murmured before she promised, "I always got your back."

Emily shot the Forbes vampire a short but thankful smile before they were soon interrupted by the Bennett witch. "Okay, remember you have to squeeze the heart while you say the incantation," Bonnie instructed as she got the young witch back on track before she stated, "you will know when it's working."

The Gilbert girl silently nodded her head as she absorbed Bonnie's words before she quietly told herself, "I got this." Emily took a deep breath to calm her body and mind before the Radkova witch went back to kneeling to the side of Elena's body.

The Radkova witch slowly sunk her hand into Elena's chest cavity before Emily wrapped her fingers around her twin sister's heart.

"You just need to say the incantation as many times as you can," the Bennett witch instructed as she moved to stand in Emily's eyesight before she stated, "you should be able to feel when the spell takes."

"Alright," the Radkova witch muttered to herself before she began to utter the incantation, "ictus phasmatis ex eleto. Revertas phasmatis ut victus. Victus phasmatis ex eleto. Revertas phasmatis ut victus. Victus phasmatis ex eleto. Revertas."

Emily chanted the spell three times over before she began to feel something happening. The Radkova witch figured it was a good thing as she felt this power pulsing through her body.

It was definitely a crazy experience for the young witch. Emily felt like she was in a superhero movie as she watched the line of blood on hers and Elena's body glow bright blue while Emily squeezed her fingers around her twin sister's heart.

Meanwhile, for the other people in the Salvatore backyard, they were beginning to worry for the Radkova witch when they all noticed the blood gushing from Emily's nose and the way the Gilbert girl's body was tensing and twitching.

"Bonnie, what's going on?" The Salvatore vampire inquired as he quickly took large steps towards the two witches and his girlfriend. Damon didn't like this one bit. Damon didn't like not knowing what was happening with someone he saw like a sister.

Bonnie shook her head with her brows furrowed as she stared down at the Gilbert twins. "I'm... I'm not sure," the Bennett witch mumbled as she carefully trained her brown eyes on Emily to see if she could find out what was going on right now.

"Figure it out," the Salvatore vampire snarled before he threatened, "or I'm pulling her out." Damon wasn't joking when he said that. Damon would gladly pull Emily out of this spell if it meant that she would be okay.

"Don't do anything!" The Bennett witch loudly ordered as she quickly moved to block Damon's way from getting to the Gilbert girl. "This is our only chance in getting Elena back!" Bonnie reminded the Salvatore vampire.

"We have to do something!" The Lockwood werewolf jumped in and, surprisingly, agreed with Damon. "She's hurting," Tyler mumbled as he stared at the Gilbert girl with so much worry in his brown eyes.

"Do not take another step!" Bonnie ordered as she held out both of her hands and glared at the Salvatore vampire and the Lockwood werewolf. "Emily knows what she's doing," the Bennett witch assured the duo before Bonnie told them, "she's stronger than she looks."

"She could be dying for all we know!" Tyler loudly exclaimed as he pointed his left hand towards the Radkova witch, who was bent over Elena's body and was practically convulsing right in front of him.

The witch, the vampire, and the werewolf continued to go back and forth as they argued about what they should do before they were suddenly interrupted when Caroline shouted, "shut up!"

The Forbes vampire slowly approached the Gilbert twins as she kept her blue eyes locked onto Elena's body. Caroline could have swore she saw the dead girl's body twitch. "Watch," the blonde vampire told the group of supernatural beings and humans as she prayed for Elena to move again.

The group immediately grew silent like Caroline ordered before they all focused their gaze onto the twin sisters. Every human, werewolf, witch, and vampire held their breaths as they watched the lightening-like powers surge through the Gilberts sisters before they all were in shock when Elena's dead heart begin to pump and glow back to life.

The Radkova witch loudly gasped when she suddenly felt Elena's heart beating in the palm of her hand. Emily hurriedly pulled her hand out of her sister's chest before the young witch fell back on her bottom with a shaky breath.

Emily couldn't believe what she was seeing as she watched the skin around her twin sister's heart slowly seal itself together. If Emily wasn't here to witness it, the Radkova witch would have never believed it happened in the first place when she saw there was zero marks or scars on Elena's body. It didn't even look like Elena had a scratch on her chest.

The Salvatore vampire instantly used his enhanced speed to kneel on the other side of Elena when he heard the sound of her heart beating. "Baby?" Damon called out as he grasped his girlfriend's face in his palms and tried to find any signs of Elena's awareness, "can you hear me, honey?"

"What's happening?" The Somers vampire worriedly asked while she anxiously held onto Alaric's waist to ground her from completely freaking out as Jenna watched her nieces. Jenna wasn't sure what was supposed to happen but she didn't like this. She just wanted Emily and Elena to come back to her.

No one had any answers for the Sommers vampire as they were all confused and concerned at what they were seeing.

The next person to make a move was Tyler as he hurriedly kneeled in front of the frozen witch, who had yet moved from her spot. "Hey, Em," the Lockwood werewolf cautiously called out to his best friend. Tyler moved his brown eyes across the Radkova witch's body to see if she hurt anywhere but Tyler became even more worried when he couldn't find anything wrong.

Tyler began to panic when he noticed Emily's green eyes weren't even acknowledging him in front of her. It was as if Emily's mind was zoned out. "Emily!" The Lockwood werewolf shouted as he tried to pull the young witch out of her trance-like state. "Say something!" Tyler begged as he lightly slammed his palm against the Gilbert girl's cheek.

There wasn't a soul in the Salvatore backyard that weren't worried for the Gilbert twins. It was as if they were both stuck or frozen in another realm.

However, without a single warning, both Emily and Elena suddenly released a loud gasp in unison. For the Radkova witch, it was as if Emily was pushed out of her trance. Emily didn't think twice before she hurriedly got out of the Lockwood werewolf's arms and quickly faced her twin sister's body.

"Elena?" The Radkova witch cautiously called out before Emily quickly grew worried when her twin sister didn't respond or move. "Elena!" The Gilbert girl loudly shouted as she silently begged for Elena to open her eyes.

"Come on, baby," the Salvatore vampire desperately begged as he tightly held Elena's hand between his palms. Damon gave up believing in religion centuries ago but he was praying to any God who would listen for them to bring his girlfriend back to him.

It was a tense one hundred and twenty seconds before the now alive Gilbert girl suddenly opened her brown eyes for the first time in months and hurriedly sat up with a frantic look displayed across her face.

"Hey, hey, I got you," Emily quickly told her twin sister as the Radkova witch tightly grasped Elena's free hand that the Salvatore vampire wasn't holding. "You're safe," Emily softly assured her twin sister, "you're home."

Elena's brown eyes hurriedly found Emily's green ones before the Gilbert girl released a shock gasp. "Oh, my God! Emmie!" The now human girl choked out when Elena realized that she wasn't dreaming or imagining her twin sister right now. Elena's brown eyes were immediately overflown with warm tears as she stared across at her other half. "Is this real?" The Gilbert girl whispered as if she was afraid of the answer.

The Radkova witch released a watery chuckle before she hurriedly nodded her head. "You're really here," Emily promised as she squeezed her twin sister's hand. Emily wrapped her arms around Elena's neck as she pulled her into a well deserved embrace. "I brought you home like I promised," the young witch whispered as she tightly hugged her twin sister against her chest.

"I always believed in you," Elena whispered against her sister's neck as she weakly hugged Emily back with a soft and tearful smile on her face. The Gilbert girl felt so much happiness in this moment as she looked at all of the crying and smiling people over Emily's shoulder.

It had been quite the shock for Elena when her body was suddenly pulled through the other side - not to mention the shock Elena felt when she noticed her heart beating again. Elena a lot of questions about everything that has happened in the past few months but for now, Elena was just happy to be back home.

"I'm never letting you go ever again," Emily mumbled against her twin sister's temple before she tightened her hold onto Elena's neck as if she was afraid Elena would disappear if she let her go.

Emily thought she already knew what happiness was. Emily thought it was being surrounded by her family and friends or being in the safety of her boyfriend's arms. However, Emily now knew real happiness was having her other half back in their world.

The Radkova witch felt so happy but she also very proud of herself. It was crazy to think about how she just completely a difficult and dangerous spell on her own. The Gilbert girl knew Maria would be overjoyed for her from how success of a witch she was quickly becoming.

However, while Emily may be proud and happy, she was also concerned about what would happen next for her like the druid in Beacon Hills had warned her about. The Radkova witch knew she had a tough road ahead of her but Emily would go through all of the hallucinations and nightmares over and over again as long as she got to keep Elena in her life.
