It had been a full month of Damon "letting" Emily be in the know and help look for the youngest Salvatore. However, the Radkova witch still didn't feel like Damon was telling her anything more than he did in the past.
The elder Salvatore vampire kept on telling Emily that he was keeping an eye of any leads and that he would tell her when he found something concrete. Damon told the Radkova witch that three weeks ago and Emily still hadn't heard any news about Stefan since then.
Emily was getting more and more frustrated as each day passed by. Emily was frustrated that Damon wasn't telling her anything. Emily was frustrated that she couldn't kiss or touch Stefan. Emily was frustrated that Klaus had her boyfriend hostage.
The Radkova witch woke up in a fowl mood and it didn't help that Damon only shrugged his shoulders when Emily asked for an update on her boyfriend. Emily forced herself to leave the Salvatore boarding house before she put a curse on Damon for pissing her off.
Emily needed some silence away from the vampire's annoying voice to calm down, so the Radkova witch went to the Gilbert house.
Emily's irritation didn't go away like she had hoped for. The Radkova witch was only in her childhood home for a few minutes before Emily found herself pacing the space of the living room.
Emily's mind just wouldn't shut off. A part of the Radkova witch was annoyed at Damon for not telling her anything useful and the other part of Emily was worried for her boyfriend.
The Gilbert girl knew she couldn't force the words out of Damon but she could check up on her boyfriend, so Emily decided to perform a wellness spell on Stefan to make sure he was doing okay - at least that way, Emily wouldn't be stressing herself for nothing.
The Radkova witch got to work by pushing the wooden coffee table out of the way before Emily grabbed her lavender backpack from the couch. Emily sat down in the middle of the area that she had just cleared before Emily unzipped her backpack.
Emily grabbed the Radkova grimoire before she placed it down in front of her. The Gilbert girl reached back into her backpack and grabbed the locket of vervain that Stefan got for her what seems like years ago.
Emily didn't exactly need to wear the locket anymore since she's a witch and she didn't need to worry about a vampire compelling her. However, the Radkova witch still liked to have it with her. Emily could never find it in herself to part with it. Emily just felt like the locket was too important to toss away.
The Radkova witch placed the locket onto the palm of her hand before she squeezed her fingers around the cold metal. Emily took a deep breath as she closed her green eyes before she uttered the incantation, "passuum passuum seorsum. Nostra nexu est fortior corde. Aperi animo, vide quid suus intus." (Miles and miles apart. Our connection is stronger at heart. Open your mind, let me see what's inside).
Emily didn't feel anything, so she uttered the incantation another time, "passuum passuum seorsum. Nostra nexu est fortior corde. Aperi animo, vide quid suus intus." (Miles and miles apart. Our connection is stronger at heart. Open your mind, let me see what's inside).
However, after repeating the spell two more times, Emily was puzzled as to why nothing was happening. "What the hell," the Radkova witch mumbled in frustration.
Emily guessed it was because her mind wasn't completely relaxed to focus on the spell after her morning arguing with Damon. The Radkova witch took a couple deep breaths before she went for a second round of the wellness spell.
"Passuum passuum seorsum. Nostra nexu est fortior corde. Aperi animo, vide quid suus intus," Emily carefully uttered the incantation while she tightly squeezed the locket from Stefan in the palm of her hand. (Miles and miles apart. Our connection is stronger at heart. Open your mind, let me see what's inside).
The Radkova witch felt a sense of relief when she felt that familiar click inside of her mind that alerted Emily that she was now connected to her boyfriend. However, Emily was quickly confused, though, when she didn't immediately feel how Stefan was feeling.
Emily didn't feel any grief, sadness, or anger like she usually did from her boyfriend. Instead, the Radkova witch felt absolutely nothing.
The only thing that the Gilbert girl could feel was the pounding of her heart as she began to worry for Stefan. However, Emily wasn't going to give up just yet.
The Radkova witch uttered the incantation three more times to build up a strong connection between herself and the Salvatore vampire. Emily tried and tried for over twenty minutes before the panic began to settle inside of Emily from not feeling a single emotion from Stefan.
Emily felt like her heart was going to pop out of her chest from how hard she was trying to get in contact with the Salvatore vampire. The Radkova witch didn't even notice the tears in her eyes nor did Emily feel the Gilbert house vibrating around her.
Meanwhile, Elena was quite confused when she parked her boyfriend's blue Mustang in front of the Gilbert house and took notice of the way the wind was blowing as if there was a tornado in the area.
The Gilbert girl knew Emily was here (she left a note in her bedroom), so Elena was becoming very concerned for her twin sister and what was happening with the weather.
Elena had to forcefully push through the wild wind to climb up on the porch. The human Petrova doppelganger tightly held onto the banister with her left hand before she opened the front door with her other hand. Elena huffed out a heavy sigh once she was finally inside of the house and out of the windy weather.
However, Elena's worry quickly took over her relief when she could hear the raddling of the walls and she noticed the broken picture frames littering the hallway.
"Emily!" The Gilbert girl worriedly called out for her twin sister as she cautiously walked through the foyer. Elena noticed the majority of the rattling was coming from the living room, so she quickly rushed in that direction.
Elena's brown eyes immediately widened when she found her twin sister sobbing on the ground in the living room with broken pictures frames and knick knacks surrounding her.
Elena didn't think twice before she hurriedly crossed the living room and dropped to the ground to pull Emily into a tight embrace. "It's okay," the human girl cooed as she gently ran her fingers through her twin sister's brunette hair.
The Radkova witch sluggishly shook her head against Elena's chest before she mumbled, "it's not okay."
Everything was going to hell in Emily's opinion. The Radkova witch did not like not being able to feel her boyfriend emotionally. It was bad enough that Stefan was stuck with the hybrid. It made it a million times worse for Emily to be in the dark when it came to her boyfriend.
Elena didn't comment on her sister's words for the time being. The most important thing for Elena right now was to get Emily to calm herself and her magic down.
"Shhh," the Gilbert girl whispered as she tightly held Emily in her arms. "You're okay," Elena gently murmured, "you're safe. You're okay, Emmie."
It took another three minutes of the Radkova witch sobbing in Elena's arms before the Gilbert house finally stopped raddling and Emily calmed down.
Elena slowly pulled out of the embrace after she felt her twin sister slowly relax in her arms. The human girl brought her hand to Emily's face to wipe the loose tears from her warm cheeks.
"What happened?" Elena gently asked as she pushed a portion of Emily's brunette hair behind her right ear before she softly stroked her twin sister's cheek in a comforting motion.
Elena knew it couldn't be something good for her twin sister to react this way. The Gilbert girl hadn't personally seen Emily's magic take over her emotions but she heard about it from Bonnie and Elena knew it wasn't a positive sign.
The Radkova witch forcefully took a deep breath to keep herself calm or Emily knew she would begin to panic again. "You know how I can check up on Stefan, right?" Emily asked her twin as she began to explain what was going on.
Elena quickly nodded her head before she stated, "yeah, I remember."
"Well, I was worried about him, so I decided to check up on Stef," the Radkova witch recalled. A frown quickly appeared on Emily's face as she mumbled, "but it didn't work. I couldn't feel anything on his side."
Elena furrowed her brows in confusion before she asked her twin, "what does that mean? Has that ever happened?"
"I don't know," Emily muttered as she heavily shrugged her shoulders. "I don't know," the Gilbert girl repeated before she added, "but I do know that it's not good." Emily looked over at her twin sister with tears building up in her green eyes before she whispered, "I... I think he's in trouble, Lena."
"Hey, hey, hey," Elena quickly uttered before the Radkova witch could start panicking again. "Let's not think like that," the human girl ordered as she grasped Emily's hand and gave it a light squeeze. "Besides," Elena exclaimed before she stated, "I came barring good news."
Emily raised up her right eyebrow at her twin sister before she curiously inquired, "what kind of good news?"
Elena widely grinned before she excitedly informed the Radkova witch, "Caroline called and she said her mom found a good lead out in Tennessee!" The Gilbert girl lightly waved her hand as she uttered, "Caroline said it was a couple of animal attacks that didn't exactly look like an animal attack if you know what I mean."
"Like... a vampire?" Emily cautiously asked with hopefulness trailing all throughout her voice.
"Exactly!" Elena exclaimed as she clapped her hands together.
The Radkova witch's green eyes immediately widened in surprise. This was the first lead that she getting to know about and Emily couldn't be anymore excited and happy about it.
"Well, what did Caroline say? Is she sure it's Stefan and Klaus?" The Radkova witch couldn't help but impatiently ask. Emily didn't care about anything but getting her boyfriend back, so she wanted to know everything that the Forbes women found.
"I was about to go meet Caroline and her mom at their house," Elena explained before she gave her twin sister's hand a light squeeze. "How about you relax and take a nap while I go check out the lead," the Gilbert girl suggested before Elena commented, "you look like you've been through hell."
Emily shook her head as she tiredly stood up from the floor in the living room. "I should go, too," the Radkova witch mumbled. Emily didn't like the idea of sitting back when they finally had a lead. Emily wanted to be involved in every step in bringing Stefan back home.
Elena grasped her twin sister's hand and led Emily over to the couch to sit down. "We don't even know if it's them," the human girl reminded her twin. Elena bent down until she was eye level with Emily before she grasped the witch's hands.
"How about this..." Elena began as she gently rubbed her thumbs across Emily's hands in a comforting motion. "I'll go talk to Caroline and her mom," the Gilbert girl stated before Elena promised, "if I think the lead is Stefan, I'll come right back and tell you everything I found."
Elena could see the disagreement on her twin sister's face before Emily could even say anything. "There's no reason for you to get your hopes up if it's actually just an animal attack," the Gilbert girl told Emily. The human girl would hate for Emily to have all this hope only for it to all come crashing down on her.
"I guess," Emily huffed. The Radkova witch hated not knowing. Emily had been in the dark for months thanks to Damon not telling her anything about Stefan, so she hated the idea of staying behind while Elena went to check out the lead.
"Good," the Gilbert girl murmured as she shot Emily a soft smile. "If the leads is promising, then we can go to Damon and look further into it," Elena told her twin sister.
"Alright," Emily muttered in agreement as she slowly nodded her head. The Radkova witch looked up at her twin sister from her position on the couch before Emily desperately begged, "but come back as soon as you can."
"I will," Elena quickly promised as she squeezed her twin sister's hand. The Gilbert girl would have to blind to not see how worried Emily was. Elena hated seeing her sister anything but happy, so Elena would try to make this trip quickly to the Forbes house for Emily's sake.
"You should try to relax and take a nap," Elena instructed as she stood up straight from her bent position in front of her twin. The Gilbert girl shot Emily a soft smile before she swore, "I'll be back soon."
The Radkova witch heaved out a heavy sigh after she watched Elena walk out of the Gilbert house. Emily leaned her head back against the couch before she stared up at the tan ceiling with a small frown on her face.
Emily was still just as frustrated as she was when she arrived at the Gilbert house. The Radkova witch was, of course, relieved to finally find a lead on Stefan's whereabouts - especially after not being able to feel how Stefan was doing.
However, Emily was frustrated that she had to sit here and do nothing until her twin came back. Emily would rather be out there getting answers about bringing her boyfriend home. The Gilbert girl felt restless that she had to wait for answers instead of going out there and getting them.
Emily knew she just needed to suck it up for now. The Radkova witch trusted Elena to tell her everything that she finds from the Forbes women. Emily could only hope that this lead was actually a vampire attack and not just some random animal.
The Radkova witch absolutely hated the fact that she could no longer feel Stefan, so Emily really hoped and prayed that this lead was going to push them in the right direction.
