Elena's plan to go shopping didn't exactly go the way the human girl had hoped in distracting Emily from the Memphis lead. The Radkova witch just couldn't focus enough on looking and trying on clothes to keep her mind busy away from the possible location of her boyfriend. Emily could only think about the lead and if Damon was going to be able to find Stefan.

Emily would usually love to spend hours on hours shopping with Elena until she couldn't walk but the Radkova witch had more important things to do and to worry about at the moment.

Emily had convinced her twin sister that she needed some time alone to clear her mind from all of her worries about Stefan and not being able to do anything about the Memphis lead. The Radkova witch had promised that she was only going to the local park, so Elena didn't worry too much about her like Emily knew her sister would.

The Gilbert girl had packed her laptop and a notebook in her lavender backpack before Emily used her aunt's car to go to the park, where she used to spend her childhood. Emily wasn't lying when she said she was going to the park. She just didn't tell Elena her plan to research the Memphis lead on her own.

Emily didn't tell her twin sister about her plan because the Radkova witch knew she wouldn't be able to fully focus on her task with Elena glued to her side. The Radkova witch knew Elena would be constantly asking her questions and she didn't need right now. Emily knew this was something she needed to do by herself.

Emily's first task in her plan was to find out where exactly the animal attack took place in Memphis. The Gilbert girl recalled that Damon said he was going to get in contact with Jenna's friend, Andie, to get the location.

Emily had met the woman on a few occasions over the years. The Radkova witch remembered her aunt meeting Andie during her first year in college. Emily also knew the aforementioned woman had gotten hired at WPKW9 and works as a field reporter and a news anchor.

Emily knew that because Andie was the one to replace Logan Fell after his 'disappearance.'

The reason why the Radkova witch wanted to get in contact with Andie was because she knew how much knowledge news anchors have. Emily remembered when Logan was still human and worked for WPKW9 and he had access to practically every event in Mystic Falls.

Once upon of time, Emily got told by Logan that he could get ahold of any address he wanted, so the Gilbert girl knew Andie would be able to get her the exact location to the animal attack in Memphis.

Emily settled herself underneath a large oak tree with the perfect amount of shade before she pulled out her laptop, cell phone, a notepad and pen from her backpack. The Gilbert girl already had Andie's number from when Jenna had a drunken night with the woman a few years ago, so Emily didn't have any issues calling the news anchor.

The Gilbert girl clicked on Andie's name in her contacts before Emily brought her phone up to her ear and waited for the aforementioned woman to answer.

The phone rang three times before the familiar voice of Andie Star spoke. "Hey, Emily," the news anchor greeted the teenager. "How are you doing?" Andie curiously asked as she held her cell phone between her ear and shoulder.

"I'm doing good," Emily easily responded to the Star woman. "I'm in need of your assistance, though," the Radkova witch informed the news anchor.

"Oh?" Andie asked in surprise as she lifted up her right eyebrow. "What can I do for you?" The Star woman wondered.

"Damon came and saw you this morning, right?" Emily asked. The Radkova witch didn't know exactly how to ask Andie for the Memphis address but Emily figured this way, Andie wouldn't ask too much questions about her motive.

"Yeah..." The Star woman slowly trailed off in confusion as to how the Gilbert teenager knew about that. "Jenna showed up with him and her boyfriend a few hours ago at the station," Andie mentioned.

"Fantastic!" The Radkova witch murmured with a wide grin. Emily was happy to know that neither of the vampires had compelled the human woman to forget about the address or this would have been a lot more difficult.

The Gilbert girl uncapped her blue pen before Emily informed the news anchor, "I'm going to need the address you gave them."

"Oh," the Star woman mumbled before she curiously asked, "what for?"

Emily wasn't stupid. She knew Jenna, Alaric, and Damon didn't tell the Star woman the real reason why they needed an address in Memphis, Tennessee. Emily also knew her aunt didn't tell her college friend about her vampirism, so it was obvious that Andie didn't know what was going on.

"Oh, Jenna wanted me to write it down for her," Emily easily lied to the news anchor. "She wanted me to have it incase they got lost in Memphis," the Gilbert girl added to make her fib more believable.

The Star woman immediately let out an amused chuckle. "Yeah, that sounds like the Jenna I know," Andie mused.

The Radkova witch released a silent sigh of relief that her lie worked as quickly as she had hoped. Emily honestly wanted this step in her plan to go over easily, so she was glad Andie wasn't asking too many questions.

"So, can I get the address?" The Gilbert girl asked the news woman.

"Oh, of course!" Andie exclaimed as if she forgot what they were talking about. "I wrote it down here somewhere," the Star woman mumbled as she quickly moved the papers around on her messy desk.

"Yes! Here it is!" Andie cheered when she located the Memphis address. The Star woman picked up the pink sticky note before she read it off to the Gilbert teen, "the address is 15367 Hickory Street and the zip code is 37501."

Emily quickly wrote down the address into her notebook before she praised the older woman, "thank you so much, Andie!"

"You're welcome, sweetie!" Andie cheerfully told the brunette girl. "Oh, hey. Tell Jen I hope they get that car Damon is looking for in Memphis for me," the Star woman requested.

The Radkova witch couldn't help but roll her green eyes when she figured out what lie the vampires and the vampire hunter had told Andie. It was definitely Damon's idea, Emily figured.

"I will," the Gilbert girl easily promised to Andie as she covered for the Salvatore vampire's lie. "Thanks again for your help," Emily praised the Star woman once more before she murmured, "I'll talk to you later."

"It's no problem!" Andie exclaimed before she told the Gilbert teenager, "bye-bye!"

The Radkova witch felt a sense of relief after she ended the phone call with Andie Star and looked down to the Memphis address. Emily just knew she was one step closer to finding out what truly happened.

The Gilbert girl placed her laptop on her thighs and logged in before Emily brought up the Google search engine. The young witch typed in the address that Andie gave her and added animal attack before Emily pressed search.

Emily clicked on the first link that took her to an article from a website called , the local news station in Memphis. The Gilbert girl got comfortable underneath the tree before Emily began to read the article.

Deadly Animal Attack Frightens Locals by Grace Andrews

Posted: June 20, 2011 / 3:12 p.m.

Memphis, TN - The summer time should be filled with memories with your loved ones and enjoying outdoor fun. No one in Memphis ever thought they would have to worry about deadly animals coming into their home.

It was on Tuesday night when the Memphis police was called to respond to a series of screams coming from the residence on 15367 Hickory Street.

Officers Johnson and Lewis didn't know what they were walking into but they never expected to find Suzy-Anne, 26, and Mary, 24, dead with their limbs torn from their bodies.

The Memphis Police Department commented that they had never seen anything like this happening before. They had never seen body parts positioned almost perfectly in place as if someone or something was putting a puzzle together.

You may be asking yourself, what could have done this? What could have possibly been strong enough to pull limbs from a body?

The Memphis Police Department and the Memphis Parks and Wildlife Agency came to an agreement that a wild animal was the cause of these two women losing their lives.

Memphis, Tennessee is infamously known for their wild bobcats and coyotes. The MPD found the backdoor wide open at the Hickory Street residence. They believe an animal snuck inside of the house when the Williams sisters weren't aware.

This is, of course, devastating news for the locals surrounding Memphis. The police are asking residents to make sure you lock your doors and windows before leaving your homes this summer. The Memphis Parks and Wildlife Agency are hoping this is only an isolated incident.

If you want to know more on how you can keep your loved ones safe, please contact the Parks and Wildlife Agency at 615-253-2165.

Emily released a heavy sigh after she had finished reading the article. The Radkova witch had to agree with her Elena, this definitely wasn't an animal attack.

The Gilbert girl didn't know much about wild animals but she knew there was no way for the body parts to be lined up with the body like the article described. Emily knew only a human could do that and the only person strong enough to do that would have to be a supernatural being like a vampire or a vampire-werewolf hybrid.

The Radkova witch knew these killings had to be Klaus' doings. Emily had seen first hand how brutal the hybrid could be from the decade dance and the sacrifice, so the Gilbert girl knew he had to be involved.

There was just something inside of Emily that was telling her that they were looking in the right place in their search for Stefan. The Gilbert girl, of course, felt a sense of sadness for the two killed women but she also felt relief that this was the lead that she had been waiting for all summer long.

Emily wrote down the web address to the article for future references in her notebook along with how this 'animal attack' was caused from a vampire. The Gilbert girl added a little note to check the other local news stations in the surrounding areas in Memphis to see if any other similar attacks had happened.

The Radkova witch hoped she would be able to find some sort of pattern to figure out where Klaus and Stefan were heading. If Emily could figure that out, then she would be able to locate them and bring her boyfriend back home.

Emily had just clicked the back button to go back to the Google page when the Gilbert girl suddenly heard her name being shouted. The young witch looked up in confusion before she quickly noticed Tyler jogging towards her spot underneath the oak tree.

"Hey," the Lockwood werewolf murmured with a wide grin once he was a few steps away from the Gilbert girl. Tyler took a quick scan around Emily before he noticed the laptop and notebook.

The Lockwood werewolf shook his head as he released a light chuckle. "Please, don't tell me your doing college prep work on your birthday," Tyler begged with a hint of teasing in his voice.

Emily looked up at the Lockwood werewolf with her brows pulled together in confusion. "What do you mean?" The Radkova witch inquired.

Tyler raised his left eyebrow at the Gilbert girl as if he was surprised that Emily didn't know what he was talking about. "Do you know what day it is?" The Lockwood werewolf asked.

The Radkova witch picked up her cell phone from the grass before she looked at her home screen for the date. Emily's green eyes quickly widened when she saw that it was in fact June the twenty-second, the day of her and Elena's birthday.

"Shit," the Gilbert girl mumbled before Emily hit the palm of her hand against her forehead with a heavy sigh.

Emily didn't know how she forgot about her own birthday. The Gilbert girl felt frustrated and guilty not because it's her birthday but because it's Elena's as well.

The Radkova witch always had a little set plan for her and Elena's birthday. Emily and Elena would always spend their whole birthday together before their family and friends would throw some sort of party with cake.

Emily wasn't even sure that her twin sister knew what today was or if Elena was planning something but the Radkova witch felt so guilty that she had ditched her shopping trip with Elena today. Emily mentally promised that she was going to make it up to her twin sister.

"You forgot, huh?" The Lockwood werewolf interrupted Emily's internal stress with a smirk spread wide across his lips.

"It may have slipped my mind," the Gilbert girl shyly admitted.

Tyler released a light and amused chuckle. "Don't worry," the Lockwood werewolf assured Emily before he stated, "I'm sure you won't forget once you see what Caroline has planned for tonight."

Emily released a loud groan at that thought. "Please don't tell me Caroline is throwing a party," the Gilbert girl desperately begged.

The Lockwood werewolf lightly shrugged his shoulders. "I may or may not know about a certain party happening tonight at Damon's place," Tyler stated.

The Radkova witch released a loud sound between a moan and growl as Emily tossed her head back and ended up banging it against the oak tree behind her.

The Gilbert girl loved Caroline to death but she was honestly in no mood for a party this year. There was just too much stuff on Emily's mind to be able to enjoy a birthday celebration.

"Careful!" The Lockwood werewolf quickly exclaimed when he saw Emily slam her head. Tyler squatted down in front of the Gilbert girl before he softly rubbed the spot on the back of Emily's head. "Does it hurt?" Tyler worriedly asked.

The Radkova witch immediately clinched her teeth together when she suddenly felt the claw mark on her shoulder flare up from Tyler's touch. Emily tried to send a silent message to Scott's inner wolf to tell him that she was safe and that the werewolf in front of her wasn't going to hurt her.

"It's okay," the Gilbert girl murmured after she got through the short pain in her shoulder before she shot Tyler an assuring smile. "But what isn't okay is this part situation," Emily stated as she pointed her finger at the Lockwood werewolf with a slight glare to her green eyes.

Tyler released a heavy chuckle before he sat down across from the Gilbert girl on the grass. "You know nobody can stop Caroline when she sets her mind to something," the Lockwood werewolf reminded the young witch.

"Yeah, I know," Emily mumbled with a deep pout on her lips.

Emily knew the Lockwood werewolf was right - especially when it came to Caroline and a party. The Forbes vampire loved nothing more to plan the perfect party. Emily knew that was really true when it came to her and Elena's birthday.

"What's wrong?" The Lockwood werewolf inquired as he softly grasped ahold of Emily's hand. "You usually love all of the parties and the presents," Tyler mentioned.

The Radkova witch heaved out a heavy sigh. "I usually am," Emily agreed before she explained her reasoning, "but with Stefan still missing, I'm just not in any mood to have a party right now."

"I know it sucks but you should still enjoy your birthday," the Lockwood werewolf murmured as he slowly slid his finger through Emily's digits before he lightly squeezed her hand.

"Ugh, I know," the Gilbert girl whined as she (gently this time) leaned her head back against the oak tree and stared up at the bright sky. "I'm just not in a very partying mood today," Emily mumbled as a deep frown slowly appeared across her face.

The Lockwood werewolf squeezed Emily's hand once more to gain her attention before Tyler suggested, "how about this... you go to the party but I promise to stay by your side." Tyler shot the Gilbert girl an assuring smile before he added, "if it becomes too much for you, just tell me and we can sneak out together."

The Radkova witch released a huff as she wasn't really looking forward to Tyler's plan. However, it was better than nothing. "If I have to go to this party, I guess I'll go if you swear to get me out of there," Emily mumbled.

"Just say the word and I'll plan our escape," Tyler immediately promised as he raised up his right hand like he was being sworn into court.

Emily released a soft chuckle before she murmured as she squeezed the werewolf's hand, "thank you."

The Gilbert girl was honestly very thankful to have Tyler by her side and as her best friend. Emily loved all of her friends the same but with Tyler it was different. The Lockwood werewolf just understood her when it came to her emotions. They had both experienced the same sadness like with their parents' deaths, so Tyler understood how the noise of party could become too much for her when she wasn't in a happy and positive mood.

The Radkova witch adored Caroline and Bonnie as her best friends but Tyler knew just from looking at her when she was getting overwhelmed and that was something Emily really needed if she was going to survive a Caroline Forbes party.

"You know I will always have your back," Tyler murmured as he grinned across at the Gilbert girl.

The Lockwood werewolf clapped his hands together as he suggested, "now how about we go back to my place and watch a movie?" Tyler released a light chuckle before he joked, "I give Caroline at least a few hours before she starts hunting you down."

Emily released a loud groan as she thought about the Forbes vampire dragging her to a party that she didn't even want to go to. However, if Emily was going to have to spend her night at a party, then she was going to at least do something she enjoyed for the time being.

"Can we watch Scream?" Emily asked the Lockwood werewolf with a timid smile.

The Gilbert girl knew today was going to be even longer because of the party, so her favorite, comfort movie was what she needed right now. Emily really could use some sense of normalcy before she had to walk into a very loud atmosphere with music and booze and Emily knew this would do the trick.

"Of course," the Lockwood werewolf muttered with a light chuckle. Tyler stood up from the grass before he looked down at the Gilbert girl with a smirk and joked, "what else would we watch?" It was universally known about Emily's favorite movie. The Lockwood werewolf had to stupid to not know her favorite movie.

Tyler crouched down and grabbed the Gilbert girl's laptop and notebook before he stuffed them into Emily's backpack. The Lockwood werewolf slung the bag over his shoulder before he held out his free hand for Emily. "Come on, birthday girl," Tyler murmured with a wide grin.

The Radkova witch playfully rolled her green eyes before she placed her hand into Tyler's and he swiftly pulled her up from the ground. "Don't remind me," Emily whined with a deep pout on her lips.

"Oh, come on," the Lockwood werewolf uttered as he lazily tossed his arm over Emily's shoulder and began to lead her towards Jenna's familiar red vehicle that Tyler had noticed when he was passing by the park earlier.

"Your birthday is a very important occasion," Tyler reminded the Gilbert girl as he squeezed Emily against his side.

"Here's to getting a year older," the Radkova witch sarcastically joked.

The Lockwood werewolf released a small chuckle before he reminded Emily in an ecstatic tone, "think about all the presents and the cake with the butter cream frosting!"

Emily leaned her head against the Lockwood werewolf's shoulder as she let out a soft groan. "Oh, I could definitely go for some birthday cake," the Gilbert girl murmured.

"See?" Tyler exclaimed as he opened the passenger door to the Honda for the Gilbert girl. "You do got something to look forward to," the Lockwood werewolf uttered with a grin.

"I guess so," Emily murmured with a light chuckle.

Emily may not being in her best mood, especially for her birthday, but she wasn't going to be a party pooper. She wasn't going to complain or whine. Emily was going to show up to whatever the Forbes vampire was planning for the sake of Elena and her happiness for their shared birthday.

The Radkova witch felt saddened to know that Stefan was missing her birthday (after realizing what today is). Emily would have loved to spend today with her boyfriend by her side. However, that wasn't an option right now when she didn't even know where Stefan was.

The Gilbert girl could only hope that her and Elena's birthday party went by quickly, so Emily could focus her attention back onto finding Stefan and bringing him back home to her.
