Emily was surprised but very thankful that she got some actual sleep last night at the Lockwood mansion. It was exactly what she needed after a tough twenty-four hours. The Gilbert girl woke up fresh and ready to conquer the day with a straight face and a strong heart.

Emily even had a peaceful breakfast of frozen waffles with the Lockwood werewolf while they laughed over Saturday morning cartoons on the couch. The Gilbert girl kept the calm morning going as she helped Tyler clean up the kitchen before Emily decided it was time to finally tell her best friend what happened last night at her and Elena's birthday party.

Emily wasn't surprised at all when the Lockwood werewolf didn't respond well when she told Tyler everything that her boyfriend had been doing over the summer. The Gilbert girl wanted her best friend to know what was going on, so she didn't leave anything out from what Damon had explained to her. It wasn't pretty but it was her reality.

Tyler didn't like the idea of his best friend dating someone without their emotions on. He especially didn't like the fact that Emily still wanted to go after Stefan when he's in this ripper persona. Tyler quickly went into complete protective mode as he told the Gilbert girl that he didn't want her to go anywhere near Stefan.

Thankfully, the Radkova witch knew all the right words to calm Tyler down from his freak out. Emily swore to the Lockwood werewolf that she would be safe and that she wouldn't look for Stefan alone. The Gilbert girl's reassurance luckily calmed Tyler down enough. The last thing Emily needed was for her best friend to go after her boyfriend when Stefan was a dangerous vampire at the moment.

It took some time for Emily to convince the werewolf that she was going to be okay. It wasn't until she promised to call him if she ever felt something wasn't right. After the Lockwood werewolf was calmed down enough, Emily asked him to drive her back to the Salvatore boarding house. Emily had to start her search for her boyfriend at the very beginning, so she needed to get started as soon as possible.

However, Tyler wasn't exactly ready to let the Gilbert girl go just yet. It took a good twenty minutes of Emily cuddling the werewolf before Tyler finally let her go and agreed to drive her back.

It was just turning noon when Tyler's pickup truck slowly pulled to a stop in front of the Salvatore boarding house. It was way later than Emily would have liked but she understood the Lockwood werewolf's worries for her when her boyfriend was kind of a crazy vampire at the moment.

"Thanks for the ride," Emily murmured as she turned towards the driver side and faced her best friend with a grin displayed across her lips.

"Of course," the Lockwood werewolf muttered with his own grin before he quickly grew serious as he grasped a hold of Emily's left hand. Tyler slid his fingers through the Gilbert girl's digits and gave her hand a light squeeze before he requested, "call me later, okay?"

"I will," the Radkova witch swiftly promised as she gave Tyler's hand a squeeze back.

"I'm being serious, Emily," the Lockwood werewolf cautioned. "Stefan isn't himself anymore. We don't know if he's just going to show up out of nowhere," Tyler reminded the Gilbert girl before he advised, "so, you need to be careful."

Emily playfully rolled her green eyes before she cockily uttered, "I'm literally a witch, Ty. I can take down anyone I want."

"Emily," the Lockwood werewolf murmured with a warning tone to his voice as he shot her a glare. Tyler didn't like how the Gilbert girl was trying to make a joke about this. Tyler didn't care that she was a strong witch. It didn't mean anything if she wasn't careful.

The Radkova witch could see the worry in Tyler's brown eyes, so she decided to stop joking for the sake of her best friend. Emily squeezed the werewolf's hand with a small smile before she promised, "I will call you in a few hours."

Emily pointed her thumb back towards the Salvatore boarding house before she added to calm the werewolf's nerves, "Damon is here, so I should be fine from any surprise attacks."

"Like he's any better," Tyler mumbled under his breath. It did not make the Lockwood werewolf feel any better to know that Damon was around. Tyler never liked the older Salvatore and he never would. Damon just seemed like a selfish person in Tyler's opinion, so he definitely didn't trust the vampire to keep Emily safe.

The Lockwood werewolf pointed his finger at Emily before he warned her, "if I don't get a call or a text from you in three hours, I'm calling a search party."

The Radkova witch let out a small chuckle of amusement before she promised, "I won't let that happen. I'll call you." Emily knew the werewolf's concerns were serious, so she wasn't going to make it worse for him. She would call him or at least text when she could.

The Gilbert girl leaned across the truck before she planted a kiss onto Tyler's cheek. "You should go relax and stop worrying so much," Emily advised as she opened the truck door and hopped out of the pickup.

"That's impossible when you're involved!" Tyler called out as leaned over his seat to look the Gilbert girl in the eye while she was standing outside his truck.

Emily playfully rolled her green eyes before she waved her hand at the werewolf. "I'll see you later," the Gilbert girl promised before she closed the truck door.

The Radkova witch waited until Tyler pulled out of the driveway before Emily slowly headed up the porch of the Salvatore boarding house. Emily took a deep breath once she reached the front door to prepare herself for what she was going to face inside.

Emily knew she didn't exactly leave on the best of terms last night but it was just something she had to do in that moment. The Radkova witch had to get away from Damon and the boarding house in general to help calm her emotions after finding out the truth about Stefan.

Emily was, of course, still in shock to know that her boyfriend was now a ripper but the Radkova witch wasn't going to cower away just because things got difficult. In fact, Emily was going to go even harder to get her Stefan back.

The Gilbert girl took one last deep breath to remind herself to keep calm and remember her goal before Emily turned the handle and entered the Salvatore boarding house.

Emily silently slipped off her Vans and placed them beside the front door before the Radkova witch headed to the living room. It was always very likely for at least one person to be inside the room at any given time.

The Gilbert girl was correct. Emily was only half way to the living room when she spotted her twin sister pacing in front of the leather couch. "Hey," the Radkova witch lightly called out to alert Elena to her presence.

The human Petrova doppelganger swiftly turned around at the familiar voice before she let out a breath of relief. "Thank God you're home," Elena gasped before she rushed over to pull her twin sister in her arms. "I was so worried," the Gilbert girl mumbled as she tightly held Emily.

The Radkova witch wrapped her arms around Elena's waist as she embraced her twin. "I'm okay," Emily promised before she muttered, "I just needed a break."

Elena held her sister in her arms for as long as she could before the human girl slowly pulled away. "I'm glad you're doing better," Elena murmured with a small smile before she stated with a hint of worry in her brown eyes, "but we have a problem."

Emily immediately furrowed her brows at her sister's words and from how concerned Elena looked. "Why? What happened?" The Radkova witch quickly asked.

Elena let out a heavy sigh as she shook her head. "I've been trying all morning to get Damon to talk but he refuses to say anything about Stefan and now he's throwing everything he found over the summer away," the Gilbert girl rushed out as she hurriedly explained what was going on.

"He does not get to give up Stefan," the Radkova witch angrily snarled before she swiftly turned around and rushed up the staircase to find the bane of her existence, the eldest Salvatore.

"Emily, wait!" The human girl quickly called out while she tried to keep up with her sister's face footsteps. Elena wanted wanted to find Stefan like her sister but she knew Emily's anger was not the way to convince the blue eyed vampire at all.

The Radkova witch completely ignored Elena's pleading as she roughly slammed Damon's bedroom door open. "Who do you think you are?" Emily growled as she walked in on the Salvatore vampire throwing pages and pages of information into the flaming fireplace.

"Yes, break my door why don't you," Damon sarcastically muttered while he kept his gaze locked onto the fireplace in front of him.

"Didn't you hear me last night?" Emily snapped as she quickly crossed the bedroom before she ripped the folder out of the vampire's hand before he could burn it as well. "We can't give up on Stefan!" The Radkova witch shouted as she tried to get it through Damon's thick skull.

The Salvatore vampire rolled his blue eyes before he slowly turned around to face the angry witch. Damon nodded his head towards the TV screen behind Emily before he muttered, "that is why we need to stop looking for him."

The Radkova witch furrowed her brows in confusion before she turned around and noticed the TV playing the local news. Emily grabbed the remote that was lying on top of the dresser to the right of her before the Gilbert girl turned up the volume to hear what the reporter was saying.

"This is Christina Nelson," the blonde reporter began to speak into her microphone to the people of Mystic Falls, "whether suicide or a tragic accident, WPKW News has lost one of it's shining stars. Field reporter and weekend anchor Andie Star was discovered..."

Emily didn't even bother listening to the rest of the report as she quickly flicked off the TV. The Radkova witch already knew what the reporter was going to say and Emily didn't need to hear it again when her boyfriend was the cause of it.

"That should be an ever bigger reason to find him!" Emily exclaimed as she turned back around to face the Salvatore vampire and to focus back on her mission in finding her boyfriend. The Radkova witch took a deep breath to calm herself before she murmured, "we need to find and help him."

"Why?" Damon asked with a huff. The Salvatore vampire raised his eyebrow at Emily before he asked, "you really want to make Elena plan your funeral, huh?"

"Damon!" The Gilbert girl immediately scolded her boyfriend with a glare as Elena quickly moved to stand by her twin's side.

"What?" Damon asked as he innocently shrugged his shoulders. "It's the truth, Elena," the Salvatore vampire told his girlfriend. "If we were to look for Stefan, the first thing Klaus would do is to make him kill her," Damon stated as he pointed his hand towards the Radkova witch.

"You don't know that!" Emily argued.

"I've watched this movie a few too many times and I know exactly how it ends," Damon muttered before the Salvatore vampire turned around to continue to tear down everything that he had collected over the summer about his brother's killings.

"We have to at least try," Elena mumbled as she stared at the Salvatore vampire's back with a deep frown displayed all across her face. "Stefan would do the same for you if the roles were reversed," the Gilbert girl reminded her boyfriend.

"Stefan and I are not the same," Damon muttered as he turned around with a stack of article clippings between his hands. "I can control myself when I go off the rails," the Salvatore vampire told the sisters, "when Stefan goes all ripper mode, no one can stop him, not even me." Damon headed over to the fireplace as he mumbled, "it's a dead end."

Emily knew the Salvatore vampire was growing bored and slipping away from her reasoning to find Stefan, so she quickly blurted, "he called me."

Damon swiftly turned around and faced the Radkova witch with his blue eyes widened in surprise. "What?" The Salvatore vampire gasped at the same time as the human girl did but in a louder and excited tone.

The Radkova witch nodded her head before she stated, "Stefan called me last night when I got to Tyler's."

"What did he say? Is he okay?" Elena hurriedly asked her twin before her boyfriend even had the chance to open his mouth.

Emily briefly bit down on her bottom lip as she knew the Salvatore vampire wasn't going to believe that it was actually Stefan. "Well, he didn't say anything," the Radkova witch mumbled.

Damon instantly rolled his blue eyes, just Emily expected he would, before the Salvatore vampire muttered as he tossed his hands in the air, "that could have been anyone!"

"But it wasn't!" Emily exclaimed. The Radkova witch quickly pulled her cell phone out of the pocket of Tyler's sweatpants that she was still wearing before she went to her recent calls.

Emily flipped her phone around to show the Salvatore vampire the screen. "See?" The Radkova witch uttered before she ordered, "look at the area code."

Emily waited a few seconds for the vampire to look at the number. "Does it look familiar?" The Radkova witch asked before she quickly informed Damon without even waiting for his response, "any number starting with 901 only comes out of Memphis."

"That's good and well, Emily, but that doesn't change anything," the Salvatore vampire muttered. "Stefan went there for one reason and one reason only, to feed and kill anyone in his path," Damon reminded the Radkova witch. Damon slowly shook his head before he muttered, "the Stefan we know is gone."

"If he is as gone as you say he is, then he wouldn't have called me," Emily argued back with the Salvatore vampire, "if he's as gone as you say he is, then he would have forgotten about me but he hasn't." The Radkova witch pointed her finger at Damon as she exclaimed, "that is how I know we can't give up on him."

The Salvatore vampire silently stared across Emily for a full minute filled of tension before Damon muttered with a shake of his head, "you're delusional."

The Radkova witch rolled her green eyes before she let out a scoff. "No, you're delusional," Emily fired back at the Salvatore vampire before she exclaimed, "Stefan is still out there and I'm going to find him."

"And how are you planning to do that, huh?" Damon interrogated before a smirk quickly grew on his face. The Salvatore vampire grabbed the remaining bits of his research on Stefan before he tossed it into the flaming fireplace.

"You think that will stop me?" Emily asked with a raise of her eyebrow and a humorous chuckle. "You must not remember that I will never let anything stop me when I want something," the Radkova witch muttered with her own smirk.

Damon stubbornly crossed his arms over his chest before he muttered, "I'm not going to help you put yourself into an early grave."

"If you're not going to help me, then I'll just find someone who will," Emily snarled at the vampire before she swiftly turned around and stormed out of Damon's bedroom.

The Radkova witch was already halfway down the staircase when she heard her sister calling out her name and Elena's quick footsteps trying to keep up with her. Emily didn't want her twin to trip and fall down the steps, so the Radkova witch came to a stop on the stairs and turned to face the human girl.

Elena sucked in a deep breath once she didn't have to chase after her sister through the boarding house. The Gilbert girl took a couple of deep inhales to regain her normal breathing before Elena asked in confusion, "where are you going?"

"Damon isn't the only one who knew about the Memphis lead," Emily remined her sister with a smirk before she continued to head down the staircase.

The Radkova witch just knew Damon told Alaric about all of these leads on Stefan and Klaus. The Salvatore vampire and the hunter were practically best friends at this point, so Alaric had to know all of Damon's trackings of her boyfriend. Emily just hoped and prayed that Alaric would be willing to help her.

Elena watched her sister walk down the staircase with her brows furrowed before the Gilbert girl quickly remembered how Alaric and Jenna had been the ones to go to Memphis with her boyfriend yesterday, so they must know more than what she and Emily did.

"Wait for me!" Elena called out to the Radkova witch as she quickly jogged down the staircase, "I'm coming with you!"

The Gilbert girl knew this was a dangerous mission Emily was going on but she wasn't about to let her twin sister do it alone. Elena knew her boyfriend wasn't going to be happy with her once he found out but the human girl would always have her twin sister's back over everyone else, no matter the danger.
