The group that consisted of the werewolf, the witch, the vampire hunter, and the human doppelganger had been walking together in a tense and anxious silence through the Great Smoky Mountains for the past two hours now. The only sound heard was the clunk of their footsteps and the heavy breathing from everyone except for Damon, of course, since he didn't exactly have to breathe as a vampire.

The rigid atmosphere finally ended when the Radkova witch's cell phone loudly rang from the front pocket of Tyler's backpack. Emily immediately tensed at the sound before the Gilbert girl relaxed once she recognized the sound.

"You would think you would be smart enough to turn that thing off while walking straight into the wolf's den," Damon muttered with a taunting tone to his voice.

"Shut up," Emily mumbled under her breath as she quickly walked up to the Lockwood werewolf, who had stopped walking once her cell phone began ringing. The Radkova witch unzipped the front pocket of Tyler's backpack before she grabbed her device.

Emily looked down at the screen before the Radkova witch quickly frowned when she saw who was calling her. It was Scott McCall of Beacon Hills.

Emily would usually ignore the call since she was trying to focus on finding out Klaus' plan in a werewolf invested mountains. However, Emily was slightly concerned as to why the true alpha was calling her, especially when the Radkova witch could feel the claw mark on her shoulder heating up.

Emily swiftly pressed the accept button on her cell phone before she brought the device up to her ear. "Scott?" The Radkova witch hurriedly asked as she greeted the McCall werewolf, "is everything okay?"

"I should be asking you that!" Scott exclaimed before he quickly asked, "are you okay? Are you hurt? Do you need help?"

"Scott, calm down," Emily told the true alpha as she let out a soft chuckle. "I'm fine," the Radkova witch stated before she requested, "now tell me what spurred this on."

The McCall werewolf took a few seconds to let out a deep breath to calm himself down. "I had this bad feeling like something was off with you," Scott mumbled, "I just needed to check on you."

"I'm okay," the Radkova witch swore as she slowly followed after Tyler through the Great Smoky Mountains. "Nothing is wr-" Emily had began to utter.

However, the Gilbert girl didn't get the chance to finish her sentence before her cell phone was suddenly ripped from her hand. "Hey!" Emily exclaimed before she turned around and found the culprit as Damon Salvatore.

"Don't let her lie to you," Damon told the werewolf on the other end of the call while he avoided the Radkova witch's grasp from trying to get her device back. "She is being a complete idiot by searching for werewolves on a full moon!" The Salvatore vampire snitched.

While Damon automatically hated any werewolf he would come in contact with, the werewolf in Beacon Hills was the only one Damon actually trusted. The Salvatore vampire was actually glad Scott had called. Damon knew if anyone could talk some sense into the stubborn witch, it would be Scott because of the special connection they shared as a true alpha and the protector of the innocence.

"Give me that!" Emily exclaimed after she had to race after the Salvatore vampire for a few minutes before she was finally able to snatch her cell phone back.

"Don't listen to him, Scott," the Radkova witch quickly told the true alpha while she glared her green eyes over at Damon. "I'm perfectly fine," Emily swore.

The Gilbert girl was not happy at all that Damon told on her like that. The last thing she needed right now was for the McCall werewolf to be worried about her. Logically, she knew Scott was probably feeling some sort of heat on the shoulder mark they shared but Emily didn't want to make it worse like Damon just did.

However, instead of being comforted like Emily had hoped, the McCall werewolf felt the complete opposite. "I'm coming," Scott quickly announced before he ordered, "text me the location."

"Woah, woah, woah! Wait a second Scott," The Radkova witch hurriedly exclaimed as her green eyes quickly widened. "Let's not do anything crazy," Emily gently advised to hopefully get the true alpha to calm down.

"We don't even live in the same state," Emily reminded the McCall werewolf. "Besides, you have a full moon to deal with yourself," the Radkova witch added before she stated, "you should focus on that, not me."

"I know everything is not fine. I can feel it on my shoulder," Scott mumbled before he begged, "please just tell me where you are, so I can help you."

"I promise, I'm okay," the Radkova witch tried to convince the true alpha once again. "I'm not in any danger," Emily stated. "I have a werewolf and a vampire with me, too," the Gilbert girl added as she glanced over to Tyler on her left and then Damon ahead of her.

"You don't have to worry about me," Emily gently uttered before she told the McCall werewolf, "you should worry about the full moon for yourself."

"I will always worry about you," Scott softly murmured. "It's in our blood to worry for each other," the McCall werewolf reminded the Radkova witch.

Emily lightly chuckled as she silently nodded her head in agreement. "I guess that is true," the Radkova witch muttered. "Our connection is wil-" Emily had began to say before she quickly stopped in the middle of her sentence when the werewolf beside her suddenly grabbed ahold of her arm.

The Radkova witch looked over to Tyler with her brows pulled together in confusion. Emily quickly noticed how the Lockwood werewolf was glaring at something through the woods.

"Someone is here," Tyler whispered.

Meanwhile, the werewolf on the other end of the call quickly grew worried when Emily had stopped talking and the line had gone silent. "Emily, what's going on?" Tyler anxiously asked as he began to pace the length of his bedroom.

The Radkova witch ignored Scott's voice in her ear as she was trying to see through the trees to find what the Lockwood werewolf was staring at. Emily didn't have to wait for long before a bloody man came stumbling from behind a thick tree.

"Stay where you are!" The Saltzman hunter shouted as Alaric took a step in front of the group of teenagers to point his crossbow at the bleeding man.

"Uh, Scott, I gotta go," Emily hurriedly told the McCall werewolf once she realized they had a serious situation. "I'll call you when I get home," the Radkova witch promised she swiftly ended the call.

Emily could hear the true alpha yelling for her to wait but the Gilbert girl didn't have time for that right now. The Radkova witch needed to put all of her focus on the bleeding man incase he was a threat to her loved ones.

Emily kept her green eyes locked on the stranger as she slowly side stepped until she was positioned in front of her twin sister. No one knew what they were dealing with right now but the Radkova witch would do anything in her power to keep Elena safe from the bleeding man.

The air of the Great Smoky Mountains quickly grew tense as the group of five stared at the erratic man while the man who was named Ray looked at each face around him. Everything was silent until Ray locked his eyes on Damon Salvatore.

"Vampire," Ray snarled before he went full speed towards the supernatural being who his anger was pointed towards.

"Oof!" Damon gasped when he suddenly felt his back roughly hit the bark of the thick tree behind him. The Salvatore vampire grinded his teeth together to ignore the uncomfortable feeling in his backside as Damon quickly flattened his hands on the werewolf's chest.

The last thing Damon needed was for another werewolf to bite him. The Salvatore vampire pushed with all of his might to keep the werewolf's mouth away from his skin.

"Damon!" The human Gilbert girl shouted before she went to move to help her boyfriend.

However, the Radkova witch quickly grabbed Elena's wrist before she could fully take a step towards the vampire and the werewolf. "Stay with Tyler!" The eldest Gilbert ordered her twin before Emily jogged over to where Damon was trying to contain the erratic man.

"Emily! No!" The Lockwood werewolf shouted at the brunette girl once he realized what her plan was. Tyler felt stuck between a rock and hard place as he protectively held Elena while he also wanted to pull Emily to safety.

"Protect her!" The Radkova witch ordered as she looked back at Tyler before Emily focused back on the scramble of the vampire and the werewolf. Emily came to a stop once she was standing behind the angry man.

"I'm the only one who gets to fight with Damon," the Radkova witch muttered before she placed her palms on the back of the werewolf. Emily whispered a short incantation before she felt an electric shock travel from her hands to the man's body.

The Radkova witch grinded her teeth together as all of the energy shot through her. Emily was cursing the full moon in her head as she quickly realized how strong the werewolf was. The Gilbert girl was confused as to why he wasn't dropping to the ground yet like a dormant werewolf should but Emily didn't have time to worry about that right now.

"Emily! Catch!" The Gilbert girl shouted to her twin sister as Elena tightly held the wolfsbane grenade between her fingers.

Elena could see how the witch was struggling. The human girl didn't want Emily to hurt herself, so Elena had quickly thought on the top of her head. Elena, thankfully, remembered the weapon that the Saltzman hunter had gave her and Emily for moments just like this.

The Radkova witch glanced over her shoulder just in time to see Elena throwing a wolfsbane grenade her way. Emily released her right hand from the werewolf's back before she swiftly caught the weapon.

Emily knew she didn't have time to pull the string of the grenade, so the Radkova witch used all of her strength to shatter the weapon over the top of the werewolf's head. The Gilbert girl quickly took a step back before she watched as the man fell to the ground in pain.

Emily couldn't help but to feel puzzled as she watched the man in front of her. Now that Emily wasn't trying to subdue the man, the Radkova witch could think about her previous confusion towards the werewolf.

The Gilbert girl was confused as to how the werewolf could be so powered up when he was fighting Damon. That was not normal at all for a werewolf to be that strong against a vampire when the full moon wasn't out yet. It just wasn't physically possible.

"Stupid mutt," the Salvatore vampire growled as he glared down at the whining werewolf. Damon didn't think twice before he slammed his steel boot against the man's temple, which immediately knocked the werewolf unconscious.

Elena quickly broke free out of the Lockwood werewolf's arms once the man wasn't a problem anymore. The Gilbert girl ran straight into Damon's chest. "Are you okay?" Elena worriedly asked her boyfriend as she looked up at him with a deep frown.

"Just peachy," Damon muttered as he protectively wrapped his arms around the human girl's waist. The Salvatore vampire held Elena tightly in his arms while he continued to glare down at the werewolf.

The Lockwood werewolf silently joined the group around the unconscious man. Tyler wrapped his right arm around Emily's shoulder and pulled her until the young witch's back was leaning against his front. "What do you think caused him to be so strong?" Tyler curiously asked as the glanced down to the werewolf.

"He had the speed and strength of a vampire," the Saltzman hunter listed as he squatted down in front of the stranger. Alaric pushed the man's left eyelid open and found orange irises staring back at him. "Werewolf features," Alaric added before he glanced up at the group. "I think we just found our second hybrid," the Saltzman hunter stated.

The Radkova witch furrowed her brows as she joined Alaric down beside the possible hybrid. Emily stared down at the man as she thought back to everything they had seen him do.

It would make sense, Emily thought to herself. There was no way for a dormant werewolf to beat a vampire and a witch in fight unless he wasn't just a werewolf.

The Radkova witch then thought back to why they were in the Great Smoky Mountains to begin with. Of course, they were trying to bring Stefan home but they were also trying to figure out Klaus' plan.

"Klaus has been looking for werewolves all summer," Emily murmured, mostly to herself, as she tried to work the problem out. The Gilbert girl's green eyes swiftly widened when it finally came to her.

"That's what Klaus is doing!" Emily exclaimed as she jumped up from the ground to the look at her loved ones. "He's making hybrids," the Radkova witch stated as she pointed towards the unconscious man.

"Why though?" Elena asked in confusion.

"That's what we're going to find out," Alaric muttered as he stood up from the ground.

The Saltzman hunter glanced around their surroundings, which was a large opening of woods, before he shook his head. "I don't like being so exposed like this," Alaric mumbled before he advised, "we need to tie him up before he wakes."

The Salvatore vampire released a loud groan. "I really hate werewolves," Damon grumbled as he removed his arm from around his girlfriend before he dragged his feet over to the unconscious being.

While the hunter, the vampire, and the werewolf got to work on tying the man to a thick tree, Emily walked over to her twin sister. "You okay?" The Radkova witch asked Elena as she softly ran her palm up and down the human girl's arm.

Elena nodded her head as she shot her twin sister a small smile. "I'm fine," the human girl promised before she exclaimed as her brown eyes widened, "I should be asking you that!"

Elena lightly slapped her elder sister's shoulder as if she was scolding her. "Damon could have handled that," the Gilbert girl told Emily before she mumbled with a small frown, "you didn't need to put yourself in danger."

The Radkova witch let out a soft chuckle. "It's kind of my job now with these bad boys," Emily joked before she flicked her wrist and produced flames from her fingertips.

Emily lightly shrugged her left shoulder as she grew serious before she stated, "besides, we didn't need Damon getting bit again." The Radkova witch turned her gaze over to the trio tying up the werewolf to a tree before Emily muttered, "that's what put us in this situation to begin with."

Elena squeezed her sister's hand to gain her attention. "Thank you for helping him," the human girl softly murmured once Emily looked back over at her.

The Radkova witch couldn't help but chuckle in amusement. "Damon and I might not be getting along right now but he's like my brother. I'll always fight over him," Emily assured her twin sister.

Emily knew her and the elder Salvatore's friendship wasn't the best at the moment but that didn't mean she would let Damon get hurt or killed. Emily wasn't that petty. They were just having a disagreement about the Stefan situation. Emily was sure their friendship would heal itself once they brought Stefan back home.

Emily narrowed her green eyes at her twin sister as a thought suddenly came to mind. "You better not tell him I said that," the Radkova witch warned Elena before she mumbled, "or I will never hear the end of it."

"You're second is safe with me," Elena swore as a wide and amused grin pulled onto her lips.

The Gilbert twins shared a series of carefree giggles as they both calmed down from their sprout with danger and enjoyed this moment together.

It honestly felt so refreshing to relax for a bit in Emily's opinion. The Radkova witch was obviously still tense after learning that there was a new version of a hybrid but Emily also knew they needed to enjoy the fact that they were all safe and okay for the time being.

Enjoy the little things, Emily recalled her father always telling her when she was a young girl.

"You know, you girls could give us a hand!" The Salvatore vampire shouted over to the Gilbert twins while he was trying to hold up the hybrid. It was becoming a difficult task for Damon as he was only holding up the hybrid's lower body with his knees while he passed a rope back and forth with the Lockwood werewolf to tie the unconscious man to the tree.

Emily looked over to the Salvatore vampire with a wide smirk proudly displayed across her lips. "It looks like you got it!" The Radkova witch called out.

The human Petrova doppelganger shook her head in amusement as she watched her sister's smirk and her boyfriend's eye roll. Elena knew it was all in love, though. Thankfully, it wasn't real anger between Elena's two most important people in her life.

"Come on," Elena murmured as she linked her arm through her sister's limb before she pulled Emily over to the trio and the unconscious hybrid.

"What do you need us to do?" The Radkova witch inquired as she watched as Alaric was tying a second rope around the hybrid's stomach.

"Look through my bag," the Saltzman hunter told the twin sisters as he pointed his finger over towards his black bag that was a few feet away. "Grab anything you think will help," Alaric ordered.

"Hopefully you have something stronger than these ropes," the Salvatore vampire muttered as he looked at their tying job of the hybrid with a slight frown. "I don't think these are gonna hold very long," Damon mumbled.

The Radkova witch led her twin sister over to the vampire hunter's black bag that was lying beside Alaric's crossbow. "Let's have a look," Emily murmured before she squatted down.

Emily unzipped the bag before she spotted five arrows on top. "We don't need these," the Radkova witch mumbled before she removed the arrows and placed them on the ground beside her.

Emily returned her attention back onto the contents of the bag. "Rope," the Radkova witch uttered as she pulled out a thick bundle of rope. "We definitely need more of this," Emily commented as she slid her right hand into the center of the rope to use for later.

"How about this?" Elena asked her twin sister as she pulled out an orange bottle labeled in a black marker that said vervain. "He is half vampire," the human girl reminded Emily.

"Good thinking," the Radkova witch murmured as she nodded her head. "That could hold him off for a little while longer," Emily stated before she asked her twin, "is there more vervain?"

"Uh..." Elena trailed off as she quickly looked around the bag for more of the vervain containers. "Here we go!" The human girl exclaimed after a couple of seconds before she produced two matching orange bottles.

"Perfect," Emily murmured as she accepted one of the bottles that her sister handed to her.

"Should we just pour it all over him?" Elena asked with her brows pulled together.

Emily nodded her head as she stood up from the ground. "Yeah, go pour those two bottles on him," the Radkova witch instructed Elena. "But be careful," Emily warned her twin sister, "if he starts moving, get away from him, okay?"

"I will," Elena quickly promised before she turned around and headed over to the group of the vampire, the hunter, and the werewolf tying up the hybrid.

"Watch out," Elena told the group, but mostly to her very vampire of a boyfriend. "I don't want to accidentally spray you," the Gilbert girl told Damon as she unscrewed the cap to the orange metal bottle.

"Don't have to tell me twice," Damon muttered before he took three large steps back away from the tree that held the unconscious hybrid.

The Gilbert girl opened both bottles before she tossed the lids to the side. Elena focused her brown eyes onto the unconscious hybrid with a nervous gaze.

Elena rationally knew nothing was going to happen to her. Everyone who stood behind her would obviously protect her but Elena was still anxious as she took tiny steps towards the man. The Gilbert girl didn't exactly have the best track record when it came to hybrids.

"Just pour it all over his body," Alaric gently instructed the human girl before he shot Elena a small smile. The Saltzman hunter could see how nervous the teenager was, so Alaric hoped his words could offer her some sort of comfort.

The Gilbert girl quickly looked over to Alaric with her brown eyes widened when Elena realized that she was hesitating so much that someone noticed. "Uh, okay," Elena muttered as she slowly nodded her head before the human girl closed the distance between herself and the hybrid.

"Here we go," Elena mumbled, mostly to herself, before she raised both of the bottles and began pouring the liquid vervain onto the hybrid's shoulders. The Gilbert girl took a step back to see if she was reaching all over the man's body. Elena watched the vervain dripped down the hybrid's chest and towards his legs before she went back to pouring the rest.

Elena tried to get as much surface as she could without having to touch the hybrid. The last thing the human girl wanted was for the hybrid to wake up when she only a few inches away from him.

It took Elena about three more minutes before she shook every last drop from the orange bottles. "That's all of it," the Gilbert girl murmured as she stared across at her handy work.

"This should keep him at bay for a bit," Emily announced as she joined the group with a thick rope squeezed between her palms.

While the human girl had been pouring vervain on the unconscious hybrid, the Radkova witch had been soaking her piece of rope with the last orange bottle of vampire propellent.

"Ty, can you help me?" Emily asked the Lockwood werewolf as she held out one side of the rope towards him. "We can tie this around his neck to stop him from moving too much," the Radkova witch stated.

However, before Tyler could grab ahold of the rope and assist Emily, the Salvatore vampire used his enhanced speed to block the werewolf from joining the witch. "Like you know how to tie a rope," Damon cackled in amusement.

"I'll show you how it's done," Damon exclaimed with a smirk stretch across his lips before he went to swipe the rope out of the witch's hands.

The Salvatore vampire's cockiness immediately disappeared as soon as his fingers locked around the rope and Damon felt a burning sensation run up his spine. "Shit!" Damon howled before he hurriedly tossed the rope to the ground.

Emily giggled as she bent down and picked up the rope. "Oh, you definitely showed me," the Gilbert girl taunted as she shot Damon a wide smirk.

The Radkova witch shook her head in amusement before she went over to Tyler to hand him one side of the rope. "I hate to tell you," Emily began as she looked back at the Salvatore vampire before she teased, "but your name isn't Tyler."

The Salvatore vampire crossed his arms over his chest with a deep pout to his lips. "Stupid mutt. Stupid rope," Damon grumbled under his breath.

"You shouldn't have underestimated her," Tyler tsked with his own smirk as he looked over to the sour vampire.

"Yeah, yeah, yeah," Damon mumbled as he rolled his blue eyes at the cocky witch and werewolf duo.

Emily quietly chuckled to herself but she didn't say anything more - even though she would have loved to tease the vampire some more. The Radkova witch knew they needed to focus back on their task since they didn't have much time before the hybrid would wake.

Emily walked in front of the hybrid before she placed the middle part of the rope against his neck. "Tie it from the back," the Gilbert girl instructed the Lockwood werewolf.

The Radkova witch waited until the rope was tightly pressed into the unconscious man's neck before she joined Tyler on the other side of the tree. "We should circle the tree then tie it with what's left of the rope," Emily suggested.

"Make sure you are pull tight after each time around the tree, so it doesn't loosen," Alaric advised the supernatural teenagers from his spot in front of the hybrid.

The Lockwood werewolf and the Radkova witch silently nodded their heads to agreement before they began circling the tree with the thick vervain soaked rope. They did that at least seven times until there was only a little bit of rope left.

"Let me tie it," Tyler murmured before he took ahold of Emily's part of the rope. The Lockwood werewolf pulled as tightly as he could before he triple knotted the rope against the hybrid's throat.

"I'm not too sure how long this is going to hold him," Alaric mumbled as he stared at the hybrid with his brows deeply pulled together. The Saltzman hunter never encountered a hybrid (other than Klaus), so he wasn't sure how far their strength actually went against vervain and wolfsbane.

Alaric looked over to the Radkova witch before he voiced another one of his concerns, "I don't think we're going to be able to make it to the pack and out of here before the full moon rises."

Emily bit down on her bottom lip for a few seconds as she thought over the vampire hunter's words. The Gilbert girl could see Alaric's point. If this hybrid was already this aggressive, then the other werewolves could be just as bad. Emily didn't like the idea of walking into a hybrid's lair anymore than she liked walking into a werewolves' den.

"Maybe we don't need to go to them," Emily murmured as a thought suddenly popped into her head. "If he's a part of the pack and Klaus turned him, then maybe he can tell us what he knows," the Radkova witch explained her idea.

Emily didn't like not following through with her plan but she had to think about everyone else. If Emily had been alone, she would have definitely went looking for the werewolf pack but she wasn't alone. The Radkova witch didn't want to test fate and possibly get someone hurt or killed.

They were already testing the Gods by being in the woods on a full moon, especially with the Lockwood werewolf. Emily knew they just needed to get the ball rolling now or they would never make it out of the Great Smoky Mountains.

"Let's see what he knows," the Radkova witch uttered as she walked up to the hybrid. Emily placed her point fingers onto the man's temple before the Gilbert girl whispered a short incantation to ignite heat from her fingertips.

It only took a few seconds before the hybrid's neon orange eyes shot open with a loud gasp.

"Careful," the Lockwood werewolf warned as he quickly pulled Emily away from the hybrid by her waist. Tyler moved his body until he was protectively standing in front of the Gilbert girl.

Emily lightly squeezed her best friend's wrist as to silently thank Tyler for keeping her safe. The Radkova witch obviously appreciated the protection but that didn't stop Emily from moving, so she was shoulder to shoulder with him instead.

"Is he turning?" Elena inquired in confusion as they all stared at the transforming hybrid.

"T-That shouldn't be possible," Damon mumbled as he pointed his finger at the supernatural being. "It's still daylight," the Salvatore vampire stated.

"Yeah, well, tell him that," the Saltzman hunter muttered.

"He's feeling the transformation too soon," Tyler uttered as he shook his head. "I can feel the effects of the full moon," the Lockwood werewolf stated before he added, "but it's not that strong yet."

"Something just doesn't feel right," the Radkova witch murmured as she slowly took a step closer towards the hybrid. Emily had this bad feeling squeezing her heart, the feeling the witch always got right before something went wrong.

Emily had never seen a werewolf go through their transformation in person but she knew that this shouldn't be happening right now as she watched the hybrid's bones snap and break each time the man tried to move.

"Tyler, how long does he have before he's fully transformed?" The Radkova witch nervously asked as she glanced back to her best friend.

The Lockwood werewolf bit down on his lip for a moment as he thought about his own experiences with the full moon. "We probably have a good fifteen minutes before he'll be in his wolf form," Tyler stated.

Emily didn't like that answer at all. "We have to get out of here," the Radkova witch told the group as she quickly moved away from the hybrid.

"Why?" The Salvatore vampire taunted Emily with a smirk playing on his lips, "I thought you wanted to save boyfriend dearest."

Emily looked over to her boyfriend's brother with a swift glare. "I did but I'm not stupid enough to get us all killed," the Radkova witch snapped before she walked over to the human doppelganger. "We need to go right now," Emily ordered as she grasped her twin's hand.

The Radkova witch, of course, wanted to find out the truth about Klaus' plan and to bring Stefan back home. However, Emily had other people she needed to think about.

"Dam, come on," Elena begged to her boyfriend, who was staring at the transforming hybrid. "It's not safe," the Gilbert girl reminded the vampire.

"We need to move now!" Tyler exclaimed as he jogged over to the trio. The Lockwood werewolf grabbed ahold of Emily's hand and began to pull her to the edge of the woods, which caused Elena to quickly follow behind them as the Radkova witch refused to release her sister's hand.

The group of supernatural beings and humans soon began running through the Great Smoky Mountains. "Do not stop running!" The Saltzman hunter ordered as he ran behind the Gilbert twins and the Lockwood werewolf with Damon following behind him.

The group had been running well over twenty minutes now, or that was what Emily thought. The last sound the Radkova witch heard was a loud howl five minutes ago before there was just silence. Emily really hoped it wasn't their hybrid but she knew that was very unlikely by how quickly the man was transforming the last they saw him.

The Radkova witch wasn't even sure they were going the right way anymore as she focused on pushing her legs harder and harder. Emily had since released the Lockwood werewolf's hand as Tyler was much faster than her and Elena.

Emily refused to let go of her sister's hand, though. The Radkova witch was not going to allow Elena to get hurt when this was her idea in the first place.

The group took a sharp left turn through the woods before the worst thing possible happened. Everything was going well until Elena didn't notice a branch in front of her. The human girl ended up tumbling to the ground with Emily following close behind because of their connected hands.

"Emily!" The Lockwood werewolf swiftly shouted and turned in panic when he heard the witch's yelp. Tyler went to help but the teenager quickly froze in his spot when he found a pair of glowing orange eyes slithering in their direction.

"Do not move," Tyler slowly ordered as he watched the wolf slink it's way towards the Gilbert twins. The Lockwood werewolf felt every muscle in his body tense up as he knew he couldn't move right now. It pained Tyler not being able to pull his best friend to safety when the fully turned wolf was in front of them.

The Radkova witch could feel a heavy breath on her shoulder. She just knew the wolf was right behind her.

They were in a very bad predicament in this moment but Emily needed to protect her twin the most. Emily knew it was dangerous to move but the Radkova witch slowly wrapped her arms around Elena's shoulder before she tucked the human girl into her chest.

This wasn't an ideal situation but Emily would rather get mauled by the wolf than let anything happen to her twin sister.

Meanwhile a few feet away, the Salvatore vampire hated being in this setting again with another werewolf on a full moon but Damon wasn't going to let the wolf hurt the girls. Damon brought his palms together for a series of loud claps as he waited for the wolf to look over at him.

"Come and get me," Damon called out before he used his enhanced speed to run back into the woods. The Salvatore vampire felt relieved when he heard the wolf chasing after him. Damon was glad the wolf wasn't fixated on the sisters anymore. However, now Damon needed to focus on staying alive himself.

Back in the clearing, Tyler and Alaric quickly jogged over to the Gilbert sisters before they help them up from the ground once they were sure the wolf was gone.

"Come on, we need to keep moving," Alaric muttered as he anxiously glanced around the darkened woods.

Elena frowned as she looked up at the Saltzman hunter. "We can't leave Damon," the Gilbert girl mumbled as she shook her head.

Emily quickly walked over to her twin sister and tightly grasped her hands. "Elena, we have to get you out of here," the Radkova witch insisted before she stated, "It's not safe out here." Emily turned her head to look over to the Saltzman hunter before she told him, "get her to the car."

"Woah, woah, woah," Tyler exclaimed as he joined the Gilbert twins. "You're going with her," the Lockwood werewolf told Emily. "You said it yourself, it's not safe," Tyler stated as he used the witch's words against her.

Tyler knew it was a low blow but he needed to protect his best friend. There was no way in hell Tyler was going to let Emily go chasing after a wolf on a full moon.

"I have to help Damon," the Radkova witch stressed to Tyler. "It was my plan that caused him to be caught up in this," Emily explained before she exclaimed, "I need to help him."

The Lockwood werewolf immediately shook his head in disagreement. "That is so not happening," Tyler argued.

Tyler could see the fight in the Radkova witch's green eyes, so he quickly took a step forward and placed his palm onto Emily's cheek. "You remember my plan, right?" The Lockwood werewolf asked as he stroked Emily's warm skin.

"We made a promise," Tyler reminded the Radkova witch, "I would draw the wolf out while you got to safety."

"I know, but-" Emily had began to argue but that didn't last very long before the Lockwood werewolf swiftly butted back in.

"Think of Elena," Tyler exclaimed as he pointed over towards the human girl with his left hand. "You wanna keep her safe right?" The Lockwood werewolf asked before he told Emily, "then you need to be with her incase there is anymore wolves around here."

The Radkova witch released a heavy sigh as she knew Tyler was right. They had no idea how many werewolves had turned into hybrids. There could be hybrids all around them for all they know.

Emily, of course, trusted the Saltzman hunter with her sister's life but the Radkova witch knew it would be better for Elena's sake to go with them.

"Fine," Emily finally muttered in agreement to the werewolf's plan.

"Good girl," the Lockwood werewolf murmured before he leaned down and placed a gentle kiss onto Emily's forehead. "Get to the car and lock the doors," Tyler ordered before he promised, "I'll be there as soon as I can."

"Okay," the Radkova witch whispered. Emily looked up at her best friend with a small frown before she begged, "please be careful."

"I will," Tyler swore before he pushed onto the Radkova witch's waist to get her moving. "Now go," the Lockwood werewolf ordered.

Emily nodded her head before she swiftly turned around. The Radkova witch tightly grasped onto Elena's hand before she murmured, "let's go."

Alaric waved his hand to instruct the Gilbert twins to follow him. "Come on. It's this way," the Saltzman hunter stated before he began jogging through the woods while he pushed his legs as hard as they would go.

While the vampire and the werewolf were handling their hybrid problem, Alaric knew there could still be danger slithering through the woods right now. The Saltzman hunter knew that they needed to be out of the Great Smoky Mountains as quickly as possible.

Emily tightly held onto her sister's hand as they quickly followed behind the Saltzman hunter. The Radkova witch made sure she was slightly in front of Elena this time, so they didn't trip again. The last thing they needed right now was to come face to face with another werewolf.

Emily's goal right now was to just get her twin sister to safety.

The Radkova witch knew today didn't exactly go as planned but that didn't matter if Elena wasn't by her side. Emily's number one task in life is to always protect her twin, but it did suck that Emily didn't get the answer she needed today.

While they did find out that Klaus was turning werewolves into hybrids, they still didn't know where Klaus was heading. Emily felt helpless that her answer had been so close but also so out of reach. It pained Emily to know she could have been days away from bringing her boyfriend home but now she was back at the start line.

It definitely wasn't the ideal outcome that the Radkova witch had when she arrived in the Great Smoky Mountains but what could Emily do?

Emily had Alaric, who was dating her aunt, to think about. Emily had Damon, who could die from a single werewolf bite, to think about. Emily had Tyler, who was trying to control his wolf transformation, to think about. Most importantly, Emily had Elena, her human twin sister, to think about.

The Radkova witch wasn't exactly sure where they go from here as they rushed through the Great Smoky Mountains.

They realized Klaus' plan thanks to the hybrid they had found. They were just missing why Klaus was turning werewolves and where they were heading. Emily figured if they could get the answer to those two questions, then they could hatch a plan to bring Stefan back.

It was a lot simpler on paper, of course, but Emily didn't plan on giving up just because of this setback. Emily had been dealing with those all summer, so why stop now? Emily refused to give up on saving her boyfriend from the hybrid. She wasn't going to stop until Stefan was back with her.

When it's real, you can't walk away.
