Ch 5
"We need to do something with the fairy first so she won't ruin it," Virgil said.
"I put paralyzing talismans on her, so hopefully she won't be able to move," said Sakura.
"That's good, but then what? How can we carry her on a motorcycle like that?" Radley wondered.
"Haven't you carried anything on your, uh, motorcycles before?" asked Takumi sarcastically.
"If she's paralyzed, she won't be able to hold on," Radley said. "She could fall off."
"We're going to tie her up with ropes, happy now?" said Takumi, showing signs of impatience.
"Pardon Takumi's choice of words," sighed Ryoma. "He can be a bit...rash."
"Yes, I can see that," Radley said to Ryoma. "And there really isn't a way to tie her to the motorcycle. It would be better if someone has a car or van."
"Does anyone here possess one of those vehicles, by chance?" asked Ryoma.
"We can get one," Antinomy said.
"I appreciate everyone's hard work," smiled Ryoma.
"Can we celebrate Halloween now?" asked Elise.
"Unless we want to invite Limpia to celebrate with us, we really need to take her somewhere," Radley said.
"... Should we invite her?" Scotch said.
"But why do you want to invite her? She tried to destroy us with our own trash!" argued Jack.
"Radley has a point. Everyone deserves a second chance," said Kalin.
"Well, we should be careful, but we could extend kindness and see if she will accept it," Radley said.
"Shall we speak to Limpia now?" asked Xander.
"Sure," Radley said.
Everyone went up to Limpia, who was tied up on the ground with paralyzing talismans. She scowled when she saw them.
"Hi," said Radley. "We have an itty-bitty problem. We're not quite sure what to do with you so you'll be safe. There's no easy way to transport you right now. Would you like to join our celebration?"
"And why should I join you filthy humans in your silly party?" asked Limpia.
"Because you'll be pretty bored tied up like that," Radley smiled.
"And we are sorry about the trash. Though, you must realize not every human are 'filthy'," added Kalin.
Radley nodded. "A lot of us are really good at not littering," he said.
"My adopted brothers Ryoma and Xander used to trash talk each other, but they have since put aside their differences. You can too!" smiled Corrin.
Limpia frowned. "Why would you even invite me after I attacked you?!"
"Because people love spooky stuff on Halloween!" grinned Leo.
"Are you calling me spooky?!" Limpis fumed.
"Uh, no," muttered Leo.
"We promise to do recycle as much as possible so the planet stays clean," said Akiza.
"Yeah! Radley's really good at it!" Scotch said.
"Do we have an agreement, Limpia?" asked Kalin.
Limpia frowned, thinking, still bewildered they would show her any kindness at all. "... I'll be watching you all through the party," she said.
"Alright," nodded Kalin. "Now, let us go have dinner."
"We can go to the buffet!" Scotch said.
"We must hurry! I am starving!" exclaimed Leon.
Scotch led them to the buffet restaurant.
"My, this place is lively," chuckled Camilla.
"Yeah, it's epic!" Scotch said.
"Thank you very much for inviting us here," smiled Sakura.
"Sure," Radley smiled. "We love it here."
Plenty of heads turned to see the warriors in the restaurant.
"It seems we have attracted some of the citizens' attention," said Ryoma.
Radley chuckled. "Yes, this is a big group."
"Perhaps they believe we are dressed up for the holidays," chuckled Xander.
"Probably," Radley chuckled.
"Ooh! What do they say I look like?" asked Elise.
"You could ask!" Scotch said.
"Do you guys like to dress up?" asked Elise.
"I do!" Scotch said.
"Can we see it?" asked Elise.
"Does any of your other friends dress up for Halloween?" asked Sakura.
"Yeah, after we eat, I'll put it on!" Scotch said.
"A lot of us do," Radley says.
"What else do you do on this day?" asked Leon.
"Play spooky songs and tell spooky stories!" Scotch said. "And the kids dress up and go around asking for treats from people!"
"Big kids too," Virgil said.
"That sounds like my kind of thing," grinned Leon mischievously.
"When do we start?" asked Elise.
"After dinner," Radley said.
Everyone started selecting food.
"I am impressed by the wide variety of choices," commented Ryoma.
"Yeah! Buffets are epic!" Scotch gushed.
"It's delicious!" smiled Corrin.
"Indeed," nodded Xander. "And to think we were given such hospitality in a foreign place."
"We always try to be welcoming," Radley smiled.
Limpia stayed silent, observing and thinking as she ate.
"Maybe we can tweak the crystals so we can visit each other?" pondered Luna.
"Would it work?!" Scotch exclaimed.
"Bruno knows all about portals. He can make one!" grinned Leo.
"I'll do my best!" Bruno said.
"I wonder what Hoshido and Nohr are like?" asked Kalin
"Me too," Yusei said.
"Nohr is surrounded by mountains and is cold, while Hoshido is grassy and warm," explained Corrin.
"They both sound nice," Radley said.
"It's even nicer now that the war between them is over," said Corrin.
"Yeah! You can come visit us!" smiled Elise.
"Cool," Radley smiled. "We'll do that."
"Do phones work over there?" asked Jack.
"Do they even have phones there?" Crow countered.
"No, we do not," replied Hinoka.
"Yeah, I didn't think so," Crow said.
"Sorry about that," said Sakura.
"Apparently you do have tech, though," Radley mused. "Or knowledge of tech. Unless Limpia learned how to make robots by tapping into other dimensions."
"We have ballistae, and mechanics, if that counts," said Takumi.
"She probably did," nodded Kalin.
"Cool," said Radley.
"What's ballista?" Scotch asked.
"They are used to attack our enemies from long distances", explained Ryoma.
"Like cannons?" Scotch asked.
"Yes, those." nodded Ryoma.
"Wow! Cool!" exclaimed Leo.
"What else have you got?" Scotch wondered.
"We have delicious food, such as noodles," said Sakura.
"Us too!" Scotch said.
"I would love to try some!" smiled Sakura.
"They probably have some here," Radley said.
"I'll look it up," said Akiza as she searched her phone.
"I mean here at the buffet," Radley said.
"Oh, right," nodded Akiza. "I apologize, sometime I feel like we are over-reliant on technology these days.
"Yeah, there's several types of noodles we can get!" Scotch said.
"We probably are too reliant on tech," Radley mused. "It's pretty cool stuff, though."
"Well, what are we waiting for? Let's get some!" exclaimed Takumi impatiently.
"Perhaps if you visit Nohr, you could relax more," smiled Camilla.
Scotch got up to lead them back to the buffet selections.
"Wow! It looks and smells delicious!" squealed Elise.
"Yeah! It's great!" Scotch said. "Jack is nuts about noodles."
"Red Demon Noodles are the best noodles!" boasted Jack.
"If I didn't know what they were, I'd stay away from them because of the name!" Biff said.
"How come? Is it dangerous?" asked Elise.
"Demons are usually nasty and creepy," Biff said.
"Yeah, Nohr used to be overrun by demons, but now it's much safer!" said Elise.
"You can't possibly be scared of noodles!" grumbled Jack.
"... That's good," Biff said.
He looked to Jack. "Not when I know what they are."
"Noodles are best served hot and spicy!" argued back Jack.
Corrin, Ryoma, and Xander couldn't help but laugh at their banter.
"I'm fine with that!" Biff said.
"Sorry about Biff," sighed Kalin. "He's a bit high-strung."
"I'm glad we can sit down and share a meal together," smiled Corrin.
"Most of us are used to it," Virgil said.
"Sharing meals is great!" Scotch said.
"We did this sort of thing after forging our new alligence back in our homeland," stated Ryoma.
"It was an unforgettable experience," added Xander.
"I can imagine," Radley smiled.
"Can you imagine how cute Corrin looked when we first joined together?" asked Camilla.
"Hmm, why don't you tell us about it," Radley said.
"Shortly after we defeated the Fallen Dragon, we held a huge party, and exchanged food," explained Corrin.
"What's the Fallen Dragon?" Yusei asked.
"He was a dragon from the fallen kingdom of Valla," said Corrin. "His name was Anankos, and he used to love humans, until he went mad."
"That's sad," Luna frowned.
Why did he go mad?" asked Kalin.
"Anankos went mad because humans have always fought one another. So, he pitted Hoshido and Nohr against each other," added Ryoma.
"And he couldn't be helped at all?" Luna frowned.
"We tried, but he lost all his sanity years ago," said Sakura.
"We had no choice but to mercy kill him," sighed Leon.
"How awful," Luna said.
"Anankos possessed my ill father and orchestrated the entire conflict between us," sighed Xander. "I regret not having realized it sooner."
"That's horrible," Radley frowned.
"My father, King Garon, was once a strict, but just ruler. However, one day he fell ill," said Xander.
"Is he okay now?" Scotch asked.
Xander as he shut his eyes. "We did not know this until we traveled to Valla but Anankos possessed him. Sadly, we could not save him."
Scotch looked down. "Oh..."
"I'm sorry," Radley frowned.
"As the new king of Nohr, I promise to continue our relationship with Hoshido. And ensure nothing like Anankos threatens us again," said Xander.
"It's a big responsibility," Yusei said. "I wish you all the best."
"I, the King of Hoshido, will do the same," nodded Ryoma.
Radley smiled to see the unity. Kalin was too, and the fact that they were talking to actual kings.
"So, I am curious about this land. Could you explain what you folks do?" asked Xander.
"We fight bad guys!" Scotch said.
"Oh, like Limpia?" asked Camilla.
"Does this place have a king?" asked Hinoka.
"Yeah!" Scotch said. "We don't have kings, though…. Some other places here do!"
"Like where?" asked Hinoka.
"The United Kingdom! That's a long way from here," Scotch said.
"Where is the United Kingdom?" asked Elise.
"Here in New Domino City, we duel for the title of King of Games!" stated Jack.
Scotch brought up a map on his phone and pointed out the different countries. Radley was amused by Jack.
"Wow! That's amazing!" exclaimed Elise.
"King of Games?" repeated Leon. "What's that mean?"
"Yeah! Earth is cool!" Scotch said.
"King of Games is a title they give to the best player of a card game," Radley said.
"I want to learn more! But can we really make a portal that links our worlds together?" asked Elise.
"I see. Actually. I've been curious about how you guys summon those dragons from those cards," said Leon.
"I hope so," Antinomy said.
"I'm curious too," Radley mused. "I'm not sure any of us really understand how it works."
"We'd be happy to form an allegiance with you if the portal is successful," smiled Xander.
"Actually, it reminds me of how people such as I become mages," said Leon.
"We'd be honored," Yusei said.
"How's that?" Scotch eagerly asked.
"You are welcome I'm Hoshido as well," smiled Ryoma.
"You just pick up a spell book, focus on the target, and shout the words," said Leon.
"Thanks," Yusei smiled.
"Wow, really?! You don't have to practice or anything?!" Scotch was stunned.
"We can give you nice boys a tour if you wish," said Camilla.
"Of course you have to practice!" retorted Leon. "You can't imagine all the people who failed."
"We'd like that," Yusei said.
Scotch winced. "I can imagine." He thought of his fantasy books.
"How's progress on the portal device, Bruno?" asked Kalin.
"One time, a student in my class accidentally burned his clothes with Elfire," sighed Leon.
"I've made some sketches and notes while we've been eating," Bruno said.
"Oh no," Radley grimaced. "Was he hurt?"
"What do you think about all this?" asked Kalin.
"He had to be taken to the medical ward. Nothing too serious, but he failed magical training," replied Leon.
"It's very interesting," Bruno said.
"I can imagine," Radley said.
"I never expected that we would be talking to actual royals," said Kalin.
"Has anything similar happened in this place, regarding summoning monsters?" asked Leon.
Bruno nodded. "Especially from other dimensions."
"Probably," Radley said.
"Guys, it's time to Trick -or-Treat," said Crow.
"I'm kind of interested in this game you Earth folks play," smirked Leon.
"Yes! Let's dress up!" Scotch leaped up to get his costume.
"I am too!" exclaimed Crow.
"I suppose everyone will think we a dressed up for this holiday," giggled Camilla.
"Most likely," Radley smirked.
"Are you dressing up like your energetic mate?" asked Camilla.
"I usually don't," Radley said, "but I might bring out some traditional Spanish clothes for a costume."
"Ever since I joined his group, Radley has been introducing me to Spanish culture," added Kalin.
Radley smiled. "I love educating people on it."
"It's wonderful you folks get along so well," smiled Xander. "Perhaps we can learn something from you."
"Just like sweet little Corrin," added Camilla.
"We're happy to teach," Radley smiled.
Everyone headed out.
"Wow! Look at all the amazing decorations!" gushed Sakura.
"People go all out for Halloween," Radley said.
"Why do they dress up in scary costumes?" asked Sakura.
"Originally it was to ward off evil spirits," Radley said. "Now it's just for fun."
"Oh, that's interesting. As a miko, I practice that all the time," said Sakura.
"That's weird how it became fun," shrugged Takumi.
"Cool," Radley said to Sakura.
To Takumi he said, "I guess people started realizing they liked dressing up and it went from there."
"I guess I can see why. I can some people approaching us," replied Takumi.
"Sweet costumes!" said one guy.
"Thank you for the morale," smiled Ryoma.
Scotch started going to houses with some of the others. Leon and Elise followed him, pretending to be wizards. Several kids noticed the team and seemed impressed with the costumes. Some of them really wanted to take pictures with Ryoma and Xander.
Radley smiled. That was nice.
I think they became really popular in an instant," said Kalin.
"Wow! Who are those two?" asked a kid.
"They're epic!" Scotch said.
"I can only imagine Jack's reaction to this," chuckled Kalin.
The two lords could be heard talking to the kids.
"I am Lord Ryoma of Hoshido. It's an honor to be here.
"And I am King Xander of Nohr. How many I be of service?"
"Most likely unamused," Radley said.
"Where are your places?" the kid wondered, still thinking these were people in costume.
"What do you think of all this, Yusei, Crow, Bruno?" asked Kalin.
"In a land, far, far away," replied Xander with an amused smile.
"It's interesting. Different," Yusei said.
"Cool," said Crow.
"Fascinating," Bruno said.
"Like Star Wars?!" the kid said.
"Seems they are having fun," smiled Kalin.
"Uh, yes, I suppose," said Ryoma.
"Something like that..." shrugged Xander, even though the two lords had no idea what Star Wars was.
Radley chuckled in amusement. Scotch will be all too happy to tell them about it.
"They fight with lightsabers!" exclaimed a kid dressed up as Luke Skywalker. He demonstrated his lightsaber to the two lords.
"Yeah!" Scotch demonstrated some moves too.
"I suppose give them a small demonstration," shrugged Ryoma. He then slowly unsheathed Raijinto.
The kids were in awe. "Wow!"
"Very well, but only once," nodded Xander as he took out Seigfried.
"So cool!" the kids said.
"Our brothers look like they're having lots of fun!" grinned Elise as she tried some chocolate.
"Good, because I doubt this will be the only time," Radley said.
"Are you thinking of visiting Nohr if we can make the portals?" asked Elise.
"Yeah!" Scotch said.
"We promise you won't be disappointed," smiled Camilla.
"It seems the kids think your brothers are Jedis," giggled Akiza.
"And Scotch will want to show them Star Wars," Radley smirked.
"That would be most interesting," smiled Akiza.
"What is Star Wars?" asked Elise.
"It's this epic sci-fi thing about the good guys and the bad guys fighting with lightsabers and the Force ..." Scotch went on explaining.
"Ooh wow! Xander is definitely a force to be reckoned with!" grinned Elise.
Radley chuckled. "I'm not sure they quite understand, but at least they're having fun."
"Did you know that back home, my brother seems to attract all the girls?" grinned Elise mischievously.
"Oh really?" Radley mused.
"He's like Prince Charming, with how formal he talks. I wish I could find my own Prince Charming," sighed Elise.
"I'm sure you will," Radley said.
"I've been helping her search for her ideal husband," stated Camilla.
Just then, Corrin appeared; her horns and tail materialized.
"Oh? What is her ideal?" Radley asked.
He jumped as Corrin appeared. "Hi."
"Elise desires a tall, handsome man," said Camilla.
"Oh, hello. This place is so lively!" grinned Corrin.
"We have quite a few of those," Radley said. Including him.
"Yeah, it is!" Scotch said to Corrin.
"I admit, I'm glad we could celebrate Halloween together with you guys," said Kalin.
"How's Ryoma and Xander doing?" asked Corrin.
"Yes, it's been fun," Radley said.
He looked over. "Oh, they're still a big hit."
"I wonder if we should join them?" asked Kalin.
"Pretending to swordfight?" Radley chuckled.
"Looks like the show is about to start!" exclaimed Corrin.
"Let's go!" exclaimed Leo.
"We're all getting in the act?" Crow said.
"Yes, but not too rough. I don't want to bring back bad memories of when we actually fought," said Corrin.
"Yeah, this should be for fun!" Scotch said.
"Alright, Ryoma, Xander, let's put on a show the kids will never forget!" exclaimed Corrin.
Radley was a good sport and would play along.
"Very well. Corrin," nodded Ryoma. He then turned to face Xander. "Lord Xander, prepare yourself!"
"I am always one step ahead of you, Lord Ryoma!" exclaimed Xander.
Scotch watched, enjoying the show. The two lords did a mock Duel while the Star Wars theme song played.
Radley watched, amused. The kids were delighted.
"It's amazing how they are able to control their swords," remarked Akiza.
"They're very talented," Radley said.
"They taught me how to use a sword," said Corrin.
"I can believe it," Scotch said.
"And they didn't abandon me after learning about my background," smiled Corrin.
"Why would they?!" Scotch said.
"Because I didn't side with either of them back when Nohr and Hoshido were enemies. Not to mention I am part dragon," said Corrin.
"Those would be dumb reasons to turn against you!" Scotch said.
"I tried to tell them that, but they were too fueled by hate to understand," sighed Corrin. "Until..."
"Until what?!" Scotch demanded.
"Until our father King Garon really went nuts and started to attack us," butted in Leon.
"... Oh..." Scotch said in chagrin.
"For a year, he would yell at us and spend long hours in the throne room yelling to himself," frowned Leon.
"How did you stand that for a whole year?!" Scotch exclaimed.
"We tried reasoning with King Garon, but none of our words went through," replied Leon.
"Then dear Corrin and a friend of hers told us to meet at a bridge and we all decided to follow her," sad Camilla.
"And they knew what was wrong?!" Scotch said.
"Yeah, turns out, father was possessed by Anankos!" exclaimed Elise.
"How did they figure it out?" Scotch wondered.
"We worked with Hoshido and discovered Anankos lived in lost kingdom called Valla," said Corrin.
"... And that cleared everything up?" Scotch blinked.
"Yes it did," smiled Corrin.
"And now Big Brother is the King of Nohr!" exclaimed Elise. "Oh, I think the show is about to wrap up!
"It's a great show too!" Scotch said.
The crowd went wild as Ryoma and Xander bowed.
"It was an honor to be here," smiled Ryoma.
"That was so cool!" the kids gushed.
"Glad to be of service," smiled Xander.
"Will you be around a lot?" a kid asked.
"Hmm, perhaps," replied Xander. "Our new allies are making preparations."
The kids think that answer is part of the show. "Cool!"
"The kids still think our brothers are acting, huh?" asked Takumi.
"Leave them alone. It's funnier that way," smiled Kalin.
"Yes, and I don't know if they'd want to say the truth anyway," Radley said.
"Otherwise, rumors will start spreading and things will get messy," added Hinoka.
"Wonder what time is it?" asked Kalin.
Radley nodded in agreement.
"It's getting late," he said.
Scotch wanted to keep trick or treating.
"Yeah, we should go home now," said Kalin.
"We'll miss you guys," cried Sakura.
"We can go to some more houses on the way back," Radley said. "Are you guys leaving already?" He hadn't thought the portals were made yet.
"Wait, what are you talking about?" asked Takumi.
"How's your friend's progress on the portals?" asked Ryoma.
"Well, if the portals aren't made, didn't you wanna come see our town?" Radley asked. "You don't havta miss us yet." He winked.
"I just have my notes on it," Antinomy said. He hadn't done anything further amid dinner and trick or treat.
"Oh my, you kids are very generous, aren't you?" cooed Camilla.
"It would a pleasure to learn more about this kingdom," nodded Xander.
"We try," Radley smiled.
"We'll teach you!" Scotch said.
