AN: This story will be vastly different from the one I already have going. I have put more time in planning this one and will take more time writing each chapter. I'll be writing this story until I have achieved what I want with it. My other one isn't 'dropped' but It'll be a while 'till I return to it.

"Hey mom, can we get some ice cream?" A small child with a Mickey Mouse hat asks his mother.

A brown haired lady responds from her seat in the car "Sure. Garret, can we get some ice cream?"

A sigh can be heard from a more gruff voice "I'm not dealing with two of you again." He takes one hand off the stearin wheel and puts it behind his wives seat "I'll only get you ice cream if you do that thing again, in B.E.D" he looks towards the child's mother.

"I can spell dad, and that's gross." Armed with a mind not fit for his age, He picked up on the innuendo.

His father, Garret leans over the shoulder of his seat to look at the ten year old "If you want any ice cram, you'll help me in the garden. Sound fair?"

A pout stretches across the prepubescent boys face "Okay, but it better be chocolate chip ice cream!"

His father chuckles, his booming voice rumbling through the car "Yeah, yeah. I'll make sure of it Jake, promise."

His mother nods "And a Heavin doesn't brake any promises!" Jonah Heavin then turns to her husband "And you sir will give me ice cream regardle-"

For only a few seconds, a shadow spreads over the car. With the sound of glass shattering and steel bending, the entire front half of the car is crushed by another vehicle and the pair of people sitting in the front along with it.

The back half, his half is spared. But it shouldn't. He lived but his parents didn't.

It wasn't fair.

The child cries uncontrollably, seeing the crushed corpses of his family.

Why them?

*BEEP* *BEEP* *BEEP* A hand slams onto the alarm "Shut up. Am I not even allowed to have nightmares?" Asks a muffled voice. The bedsheets shuffle for a bit before a figure emerges from them "I forgot to do my math homework." This realization doesn't faze the brown haired boy as he gets up from his bed, an exhausted expression on his face. He picks up his phone from the table next to his bed and walks towards his bathroom.

He looks at his phone, tired blue eyes glancing over the clock "7:31" he brushes his teeth and puts on the clothes he prepared yesterday, brown plain shirt, blue jeans and a black hoodie. He walks towards his front door next, where his school bag lays "In the words of an orange cat, I hate Monday's." and he picks up his bag. He walks out of his door and a dark and gloomy winter morning greets him, rain falling onto his hoodie "Who pissed in your coffee today god?"

Of course, no answer is given and he continues to walk towards his school. He walks past his local bakery 'wait. Did Tim finish his part of the Presentation?' he opens his phone while he continues to walk. Scrolling past a few memes he reaches the bottom and types.

Y: Did ya finish your page?

Asshat: Shit. Nah bro I forgot.

Y: I'm gonna strangle you. We don't have time so I'll make your slide on my phone and send it to you.

Asshat: Thanks bro! I'll repay you this time for sure!

Y: No it's fine, just do your work instead of literately fucking around with your GF.

Asshat: Low blow Jake but 'k.

Jake Heavin closes his messages app and opens PowerPoint. He arrives at the train tracks that run through this part of the street and waits for the train to pass 'If he doesn't have it next time I wont help him again.' A sigh escapes his lips 'Who am I kidding? I always fold like a lawn chair when asked for help.' He works on his group project for two entire minutes before something else catches his attention 'What's she doing?' A lady, looking tired and mute to the things around her with pale skin and black, disheveled hair walks forward and under the barrier.

Jake looks from his phone and sees her standing on the railroad tracks, slumped shoulders and a dead look on her face. The people around him are shocked, yes but nobody is doing anything.

Nobody is willing to help.

His mind races as he sees the train coming. The next moment he's jumped over the barriers. A yelp escapes the teenage girl as he pushes her out of the way. He takes only two steps away from the tracks before the train slams into him.

One moment he was standing on the tracks and the next moment he was spinning through the air.

Well, his head was.

"Out the way!" A scream fills the nothingness. Jake tries to move his body but doesn't feel his legs move. He doesn't even feel his, well, anything move 'What the hell?' He tries to look down to himself but nothing happens. He tries to look around himself but only sees darkness 'Are my eyes closed? And why don't I feel anything? What happened..?'

"Oh! The train and the girl!" His voice, now having an echo shouts in realization 'Did the train kill me? It should've but why am I still conscious. Or as conscious as a floating voice can be.' His mind is filled with horrid ideas. Is he dead? In limbo or in hell? Or just in a coma? 'Coma makes the most sense, I think. I'm still thinking and have memories of my life, so I'm not dead. I hope.'

But why is he glad? 'After... they died everything just felt so blank, gray, colorless. I just went through the motions and now I get run over by a train? I try to save a life and I get repaid like this? Nobody else even tried to do anything.'

Jake just sighs, or his invisible body pushes out air, if there even is air here 'I've got some time to think, don't I? I've heard about people remaining conscious while in a coma and comas usually last a while... years... Ok! New goal, try not to go insane.'

"First things first... HELLO!" No response "Good I'm alone, not that anything should be here, in my mind." A few seconds pass in awkwardness "I'll stop challenging the universe. Now, why did I end up here?" A moment "I got hit by a train. Why?" Another moment "I pushed away a suicidal lady. Why did I do that?" Another passes "I-I don't know. My body just moved."

A frown would have crossed his face, if there was one "I could have sacrificed my life because the people around me where to cowardice to do so? God, modern society is soooo fucked. Politicians make false promises, the government is corrupt big time and our entire species was under threat of nuclear destruction their entire lives! We've become so apathetic towards human life that people would walk by a corpse on the street."

Jake comes to the conclusion "We would've killed ourselves eventually..."

"And I almost died and very likely crippled myself for somebody... and I don't regret it. Shit, I'm some sarcastic dickhead who thought it was a good idea to save somebody who wanted to die."

"And that's what I'm looking for!" A booming voice shouts from 'Behind' Jake.

"what?" He 'turns around' to look at the speaker. A large figure dressed in a suit greets him. His hands are clasped together but what is the most concerning is his skin color. No, Jake's not racist, the guy is red. Darth Maul red, he even has horns! If you try to envision what Satan would look like, this would be it.

"I'm not how you think I am. I am what you think I am." His contradictory words confuse Jake.

"I'm in a coma...right?"

A booming laugh filles the void "No, no, no! You've died! Did you really think you survived that?"

"I-I'm dead?" A quiver accompanies his words.

The literal devil nods "Yup." He claps his hands and the environment instantly changes. They're now in a typical office, big desk with a gold name plate on it, saying 'Satan'. Just one difference... A giant window replaces the left wall and, looking out of it you can see what can only be described as Hell. Capital H. Pools of lava, fire and demons torturing sinners in cauldrons of boiling water.

Jake can also feel his body again and, looking down, there it is! Though it's somehow transparent. An invisible force shoves him onto the spinning chair at the opposite end of the large CEO desk. Satan then continues "And I'll need to explain some things before we can get to business." the devil nods and begins "You've died. You are currently only a stray, unclaimed soul. The 'void' you where in just now is the place where souls go, who've not yet been claimed by a deity."

A confused frown crosses the teenagers face "Not to be disrespectful, you're literately Satan but care to elaborate?"

A slight chuckle escapes his mouth, sounding more like small explosions and, after he opens his mouth again and fire is expelled, more proof is added to that claim "Yes, each godlike being has it's own vision of an afterlife. This can range from the biblical gods heaven and my hell to reincarnation. Each deity has an administrative system that claims the souls of the void and adds them to their afterlives." a moment passes as both figures think "I've claimed you. Now, you may think that that isn't a problem, from how I've explained it sounds like I fit the criteria of a god."

A frown crosses his face "I'm not. I was part of the biblical gods administrative system but, as Christianity grew it was quickly rendered unprepared. As a response, god though it was a good idea to turn me from the head administrator of hell to a demi-god. This halved the workload of the biblical afterlife system and it could've stayed this way but things have changed."

The king of hell sighs "Due to many, many variables that where so unlikely they where once considered impossible, I'm running out of time... I'll die and god'll be overwhelmed again and the system would collapse."

Jake pushes the air with his hands "Wait, you're Satan, don't you want that? Overthrow god and plunge humanity into eternal suffering and all that jazz?"

The red-skinned demon shakes his head "That's just what you humans assumed. But, to continue, I shouldn't be able to claim a soul in the first place, only full gods can. This has changed. You see, gods gain strength through many things, belief, souls and even how often they are used to create something. Hell, the concept, along with it's demons have dug themselves deep into your culture, arguably more than heaven has. Look to DOOM or Warhammer 40K. This made me a low class deity but due to the nature of our kind, we can only grow this way. With what is coming, that wont do. We need strength now. For you, it'll take a few decades for it to be a problem but that's not a lot of time for us."

"There is also the still the fact that I'm dying. Cant tell you why but I am. These two things led me to one solution." As if the next words would change the fate of everything, a pause stretches across the room "I need a successor, and I need him to be somebody with strong morals."

Jake quickly connects the dots "You want me to become like you?"

"No."

Jake laughs "Good, I thought I'd need to be all evi-"

"You need to be a better me. The strongest deity."

A few moments of silence pass "I'm dead, king. And the shithole that was my planet isn't worth fighting for." The last part of his sentence was a lie, he'd fight. He would always fight for the innocent, for his race regardless of how bad they are. To ensure it's survival. It's something he just learned, he'd apparently sacrifice his life so easily to do good.

A grin stretches across Satan's face "That's why I'm sending you to another world." Sensing jake's question, he continues "Yes, you'll be reborn. And no, you don't need to be evil because you're now in control of hell. You can be a Hero or a villain. You can decide what hell stands for."

Jake's stunned "I get a second chance? And I get superpowers?"

The devil nods "Correct, kind of. Fare well, Jake. I'll be going now. Oh, and my powers will take a form you'd be the most comfortable with." the red-skinned devil's body disintegrates into yellow particles.

Jake's stunned "W-Wait! Where will I be going?" the particles then start streaming into his body. For a few seconds, it feels like sand flowing into him before it all stops.

What?

...!

Welcome to the Game!

This is the Hell System, given to you by the previous owner of Hell!

Tutorial will be starting...

'A gamer system? This is not what I expected.' Jake has now gotten up from the chair and is staring at the red screens floating in front of him.

Tutorial [Part 1]: Options

When you give no specific voice or mental command to open a specific tab, this screen will greet you!

[Status]

[Settings]

[Gacha]

[Inventory]

[Skills]

[Traits]

[Classes]

If you give a voice or mental command with these words or any words similar to one of these Tabs, you will be directed directly to the specified tab. But otherwise, this main menu will appear.

The explanation was not hard to understand and Jake's liking the main menu. It shows all the mentioned options but there's also a map to the left and a Minecraft-like figure of him to the right 'This shit's awesome. I get actual superpowers and, if this is like the gamer systems I'm familiar with, I wont just be any average superhero.' A smile graces the teens face, something that was rare these days 'An actual opportunity to make a difference.' The screen continues.

Tutorial [Part 2]: Status

The status screen is the most essential one, as it will show you your strength in different fields and other, more esoteric information.

Name: Jake Heavin

Age: 18

Birthday: April 24th

Status effects: Dead, Soul

Level: 0 [EXP: 0/1]

Class(es): Gamer

Race: Soul

HP: 0/0 [Calculation: VIT X 1.1]

HP Reg: 0/0 [Calculation: HP ÷ 10]

MP: 0/0 [Calculation: WIS X 1.5]

MP Reg: 0/0 [Calculation: (MP ÷ 10) + (INT X 1.1)]

VIT: 0

STR: 0

DEX: 0

INT: 0

WIS: 0

LCK: 0

Stat points: 0

Jake takes some time to read over the stats and their calculations while he calms down and the reality of the situation sets in 'I'm getting a second chance... wow.' the teen nods and continues the tutorial.

Tutorial [Part 3]: Stats:

This part will describe and explain each stat in detail (This glossary can always be opened by thinking of it.)

HP: HP, or Health Points is the quantified amount of health you have. HP acts like a shield, if your arm gets cut off and the damage inflicted doesn't drop your HP below zero, the weapon will go through your arm. You will feel the pain but no permanent injuries will remain. Now, same situation but you have 0 HP. The weapon WILL cut your arm off and you can very well die. Every injury taken while HP is 0 will have lasting effects (Scars, missing limbs etc.).

HP Reg: HP Regeneration is how fast you regenerate. Every 10 seconds your HP Reg will be added to your HP. And, because your HP Reg is one tenth of your HP, this means it would ALWAYS take 100 seconds to fully regenerate. But the HP Reg counter only starts if you haven't taken damage for 20 seconds. So, it would take 130 seconds if you aren't hit. AND after your HP are more than two thirds full, it will take 20 seconds for each HP regeneration tick.

MP: MP or mana points is how much mana you have and how much you can store. If mana runs out, you can use HP as a substitute.

MP Reg: MP Regeneration has the same regeneration system as HP Reg except it has no exceptions. You can get hit, there is no fall off and, because of it's more complicated calculation, it can take more or less than 100 seconds to fully regenerate.

VIT: VIT or Vitality defines how healthy your body is and how much HP you have. More VIT means less ageing and diseases.

STR: STR or strength shows how much physical force you can utilize. From lifting to punching to throwing.

DEX: DEX or dexterity is how fast and agile you are. Your reaction time is also influenced but far less than the other DEX associated traits.

INT: INT or intelligence calculates your MP reg. It also shows how much knowledge you can store and use.

WIS: WIS or wisdom defines how well you can use your knowledge. It also calculates your MP.

LCK: LCK or luck is used in the calculation of gacha drops, loot rarity and gambling. It does NOT effect events.

Stat points: 10 stat points are gained through each level and can be used for stats.

"Jesus." After a few minutes of reading and another ten to think and understand, Jake came to one conclusion "HP is important. It's basically Aura from RWBY and I can increase it reliably. I don't yet know the average MP cost for spells, so I can't tell how good the calculation for MP Reg is. The definition for WIS and INT are also interesting. INT gives me memory capacity and many was to use them but WIS shows me how to use them best."

Jake shakes his head "Anyways." he continues with the tutorial.

Tutorial [Part 4]: Settings

If the settings option is opened, this will greet you.

Volume: 1-10

Subtitles: Y/N

Voice: Y/N

Text size: 1-10

Notification volume: 1-10

Only voice and subtitle will need explanation. If voice is activated, a voice most comfortable to the user will read out any system text. Subtitles will give subtitles to the conversation you are part of.

When Jake saw subtitles he thought he could listen in to barely audible conversation between gangsters or whatnot but those hopes where quickly crushed. Jake keeps the default options for now and continues the tutorial.

Tutorial [Part 5]: Gacha.

'Oh god.'

Indeed.

When opened, the gacha tab will display different banners. Things that can be pulled from Gacha range from abilities to weapons or bloodlines, anything really. You can use your Gacha tokens for these different banners. Banners give you a themed pool you can pull from, also a background depending on the theme accompanies each banner tab. Each week, you get a quest to unlock a new banner. Each banner has different bonuses for 10 Pulls. These are the rarities that can be pulled: common, uncommon, rare, limited, legendary, mythical, heavenly, godly. These are the banners you currently have:

Default Banner:

[1 Pull] [10 Pull]

10 Pull Bonus: [Standard] 10% increased chance for anything above rare.

Also, there are different qualities to the things you can pull. These qualities effect the strength of the item or ability or something specific depending on the item or power pulled. The qualities are defined in 'stars' from 1 to 10.

A sigh of relief comes from Jake "Okay, not that bad. Though the quality thing is annoying, I can deal with that. The quest thing is cool and all but I'd rather just get new banners for free. Can't have everything though." he continues the tutorial.

Tutorial [Part 6]: Inventory

The simplest aspect of your system, the inventory is a space you can store anything in. The space has no limit but you can only store items you could carry without the help of the system. Time is stopped for anything in the hammer space.

[ ] [ ] [ ] [ ] [ ]

These are inventory slots. You have an infinite amount of them but only those that are filled will be shown. If you want to put anything in them, pick up the item and think of putting it in here. You can take anything out by using the same method.

A nod "Simple but still useful. I could store food and whatnot. Anything that can expire really and I can be the best thief ever." exited at the possibilities, he grins "I may have died but this makes it worth it. Didn't have anything to look forward to when I was alive but now? Hell yeah!" Jake comes off his high and continues the tutorial.

Tutorial [Part 7]: Skills

Skills have levels themselves, they determine how god you are at the skill. Some skills have costs some don't. Example:

NAME Level X/100 [EXP: X/X]

DESCRIPTION

COST

STAGES

stages are evolutions for skills. When a skill reaches level 100, depending on the skill, you can take a quest to evolve it.

'Didn't expect the stages but I could've guessed the rest.'

Tutorial [Part 8]: Traits

Traits are skills but permanent. Something that is always active and cannot be changed, except for stages. Example:

NAME

DESCRIPTION

EFFECTS

STAGES

The sheer scale of his powers stats to set in the longer he looks at his powers "I could do anything... but I shouldn't. With my power, I owe humanity my protection. I owe my species my effort, for people like my parents, people who deserve better and to ensure their future." A chuckle brakes him from his far too dramatic thoughts "So, 'with great power comes great responsibility'?" the gamer smiles "God. Now I take advice from fictional characters? In just a few hours my life has changed so much." Jake looks around the room to find a couch, made of black leather. He walks over and sits down, the couch having a bounce to it "Good. Next part, then."

The system complies and:

Tutorial [Part 9]: Class

This is where the difference between a normal system and the hell system comes in. You only have one class an it's evolutions to choose from. These are:

[Devil], [Demon], [High Demon], [Arch Fiend], [Hell Lord] and [King Of The Underworld]

Each class has 100 levels and, depending on class, at some levels you get skills, traits or even races. After you reach the KOTU class and max it, you will be presented with paths you can choose from. After finishing one path you can choose a another, so experimentation is encouraged. Only the path names are shown here but each path has many classes. Paths:

[Seven Sins], [The Four Chaos Gods], [Abyss], [Plights of Humanity]

If the class tab is chosen, this screen will be shown:

Current class: NAME Level X [EXP X/X]

Next class: NAME

"'The Four Chaos Gods'? Definitely 40K, that'll be pretty strong if I can be the embodiment of all four. Seven sins is most likely referring to the seven deadly sins, not the anime but the actual ones. I couldn't guess what abyss is and only vaugely what Plights of Humanity could be." the previous smile has faded to be replaced by a contemplative expression "It's gonna be hard being the good guy with those classes. I'll manage." a shrug. The next screen follows.

Tutorial complete!

You will be reborn, these are the parameters:

World: My Hero Academia.

Age: 0

Plot status: Birth of Izuku Midoriya (Before episode 1)

Have fun!

"MHA, really? God dam-" His body instantly fades and so does his consciousness.

When Jake regains his thought he can finally feel things again. He tries to open his eyes but can't and his movement is limited 'It's fucking hot in here!' he tried to speak but his mouth wouldn't budge. His mind races as panic grows 'Am I trapped? Did something go wrong?' After he desperately tries to wiggle and move, having no results, he calms down to think 'Calm down. Calm down... Okay. This is most likely my new m-mothers womb, if I had to guess. The system and Satan said reborn and the heat, along with the nature of my limited movement lends proof to that.' If he could he'd now make an annoyed grunt 'Do I have to wait 9 months now? Also, why can I think this well, is my consciousness in my soul or what? Baby brains are not this developed.'

Another question pops up in his mind 'What about the system?' he thinks of his menu and, there it is! It's red glow not lighting up anything at all. But another screen covers the menu.

Your character customization will now begin!

'Shouldn't my appearance be predetermined, I am already a fetus and my genes have already chose-'

The system can change it, shut the fuck up.

I he could, he'd have laughed 'My system has sentience? This'll be fun, I can be an annoying bastard.' Jake can almost feel the glare of the unseen system as I continues.

NOW! Go on, make yourself.

A mannequin greets him, this figure has green hair and silver eyes 'So, a few thing where already chosen, huh?' Again, if he could he'd have smirked.

I will flay you.

He ignores it and starts to make his body.

The screen now shows a guy with a swimmers body 'Don't like too muscular.' a not too chiseled face, but still well defined 'I'm not gonna look like Jotaro Kujo when I'm seventeen. Seriously, he looks twenty!' and his dark green hair is styled to match Dante's from DMC 5 'It just fit. And it's also kinda ironic, Dante, like Dante's inferno and my whole hell thing? Anyways.'

You also gave yourself a ten inch c-

A swift mental command dismisses that message 'IRRELEVANT!'

Fine. Now, here's your class.

[Devil] Level 1/100 [EXP 0/100]

You posses the powers of a devil, a creature originating from hell.

New skills and traits gained! Open the respective tabs for more information!

Jake does so.

Skills:

[Classic Magic] Level 1/100 [EXP 0/100]

Classic Magic works on the principal of equal exchange. You expend your mana and, in exchange, the universe will let you bend it's laws. There are different sub-groups of Classic Magic, such as pyromancy or Cryomancy. These are individual skills and show how good you are at that particular form of reality control. Though, theoretically, you can do anything with this magic but the cost is abysmal for anything even remotely complicated.

'I was not expecting this. An interesting take on magic but I fuck with it. I'll probably need really high mana reserves for anything OP, think infinity stones but until then I'll have to get creative.' Still, the excitement building in Jake at the conformation of his powers is undeniable.

[Dark Magic] Level 1/100 [EXP 0/100]

Classic Magic relies on taking from your own reserves for usually temporary effect. Dark Magic is the exact opposite. Dark Magic is based on taking from external sources to achieve usually more permanent effects. This ranges from rituals to sacrifices. You can still use both types of magic in all kinds of ways, you can use classic magic to create a weapon, making a permanent change or you can use dark magic to temporarily buff yourself. Magic itself is contradictory and doesn't have real boundaries.

At first, Jake was scared that dark magic would have the typical use. Something like offering skulls filled with blood to some dark deity, and it still could be used like that, he's just glad that there are other ways. 'If there's dark magic and classic magic is the middle ground, is there such a thing as light magic? I don't see it in my skills... I'll think about it later.' it was also relieving to know that magic doesn't have real boundaries, it would've thrown out a lot of his ideas.

[Minor Shapeshift] Level 1/100 [EXP 0/100]

Unlike the normal shapeshift, minor shapeshift only allows for small changes to yourself. You can change your eye color or, if you expend a lot of mana, add an extra limb.

His skills end here, so he continues on with his traits.

Traits:

[Hellfire]

Your class gives you natural talent in anything hell and fire related.

-Reduces cost of fire related magic

-Any flame created can burn souls

-Your flames burn hotter and stronger

Stage 1/5

Jake almost lit a flame but remembered he was inside of another person. So, not a good idea.

[Ageless]

Your body stops ageing after reaching it's prime.

A frown stretches across his baby face 'I did not ask for immortality. I can still die though, just not from ageing I guess.' Again, he'd have sighed if he could.

[Synched with the leylines]

You take to both types of magic far easier.

-Doubles the EXP earned from using magic.

[Meta Human]

You are a meta human, this means you posses the genetics to activate a quirk,

-?

'Good to know that I have a quirk. Still, what could it be?' the adult fetus (what?) is broken out of his thoughts by another system message.
