Leo and Charmed Cordelia orbed into the attic. She immediately went to Whitelighter Xander, who was just coming to.
"What hit me?" He asked.
"A wall." She answered.
"Oh, that thing again. Are you okay?"
"The demon threw me out the window, just like the one that killed Prue did. Leo healed me." Whitelighter Xander held her and they both remembered the oldest Charmed sister who'd been killed a few years ago by a demon.
Reality shifting Xander was checking his Cordelia as well.
"Are you alright?" He asked.
"Yeah, the demon didn't touch me. It attacked Kyra. Xander, I think she's dead. The demon hit her with a swarm of what looked like thousands of mini fireballs. She was completely covered in them and screaming. And then you stabbed him."
"How exactly did you manage to do that when I know your neck was broken when you were slammed into the wall yourself?" Charmed Cordelia asked.
"Immortal remember? I can die, I just don't stay dead. All immortals in our reality are like that. We were made by the gods to be the perfect weapons against vampires. Both poisonous and immune to them and alive immortal as opposed to dead immortal."
"Which kind of vampires?" Whitelighter Xander asked.
"What do you mean which kind? There's just one kind isn't there?"
"Not in this reality. In this reality there's two kinds, the demonic breed ones that are attracted to the Hellmouth and ones that are more like bees. They're not demon possessed corpses, the bodies are physically altered after being bitten."
"Gods, now we're going to have to figure out if they're in our reality too." Reality shifting Xander said. "Anyway, I think I may have figured out why we jumped to a random reality. Every other time we've jumped, I was holding the control button and I said the destination. This last time, I was still holding the control, but Cordelia said the destination. Maybe the one operating the control button has to be the one who states the destination. It didn't catch Cordelia stating the destination. Anyway, it's a theory."
"And it might be correct. We won't know until we try." Reality shifting Cordelia said.
"Xander, the Elders are concerned. Your comment about Utopia and Avatars not being able to deliver on their promise is something they agree on." Leo told him. "It means we'll probably end up fighting them when they come. You've given us a heads up, which will help us be better prepared. Thank you."
"No problem, I wish you success. Well, we should get going. Hopefully my theory is right and we end up where we need to be. Take care of Cassendra and any other babies that come along."
"We will." Whitelighter Xander promised. "And good luck to you as well."
Reality shifting Xander pulled out the control button and taking his Cordelia's hand, pushed the button and said. "Alterans." An electric tingle and the world shifted. Neither of them realized they were taking more with them, then they arrived with. They'd figure it out eventually.
They materialized in a large open space. High above them, maybe two stories up, was an ornate chandelier. They barely had time to take a breath when an alarm began to sound. Xander slipped the control button into its pocket and muttered. "Great, what now?" Four people came running into the room. Three of them pointed guns at them and the other pointed what looked like a very large blaster of some sort at them.
"Don't move." The beautiful woman in front said, aiming her gun at them. "How did you get in here?"
"Reality shift." Xander told her. "We didn't mean to appear wherever this is. We seemed to have gotten off track. We're trying to find a reality with a group of people known as Alterans."
"I've never heard of them. And how did you reality shift?"
"I couldn't possibly explain, I'm not a scientist. We're reality hopping in order to find some items we need in order to deal with something back in our own reality. Where are we anyway?"
"You're in the Old City Sanctuary. I'm Dr. Helen Magnus, I'm in charge here. And who are you?"
"Alexander Harris, friends call me Xander, this is my girlfriend, Cordelia Chase. And I think it's clear, something has gone really wrong."
"Magnus." The younger of the two men said. "He smells like an animal, but one I don't recognize."
"Oye, this again. I'm a were hyena and obviously you're not what you appear to be if you can smell me."
"I'm a lycanthrope."
"Fancy way of saying werewolf. I'm familiar, I've got a friend who's one."
"I prefer lycanthrope. Werewolf has unfortunate connotations."
"Can't argue with you there. And who are you?"
"I'm Henry Foss. I'm the tech guy around here."
"Nice to meet you, Henry. We really don't want to cause trouble, my scent should indicate that I'm not lying. Another were, sorry, lycanthrope, although he preferred the term Blutbad, said he could tell by my scent that I wasn't lying. Not sure what Blutbad means."
"It's German for bloodbath." Dr. Magnus told him.
"Oh, then maybe I shouldn't have told him he looked like a Neanderthaled version of a werewolf."
"You always say stupid things to things that could rip out your throat?" The older man asked.
"My favorite nickname for a vampire I know is Deadboy. So maybe. And you are?"
"Dr. Will Zimmerman, psychologist."
"Great, a head shrinker and I notice you don't question the vampire part?"
"We know a vampire too." The younger woman said. "I'm Kate Freelander, by the way."
"If you don't mind, I'd like to run some tests. If you really did come from another reality, you might have brought a previously unknown contagion with you." Dr. Magus.
"I get why the precaution is necessary, but if you try to knock us out and experiment on us I will kill you." Xander told them. "Just want to make sure that's clearly understood."
"It is." Dr. Magus assured him. "If you'll just come with me. Henry, run some tests of your own. Try to see if there's anything that can confirm their story."
"On it."
"Will, come with us. Kate, check the EM shield. I want to make sure they didn't teleport in."
"Will do."
