Xander and Cordelia were next introduced to Leena, who ran the bed and breakfast the Agents lived at. She studied them both for a moment and then smiled and said. "It's nice when soulmates are united and happy."
"You're psychic too?" Xander asked.
"I see and read auras." She answered. "Yours are blended. You're good together."
"We are." Cordelia agreed.
"Now." Leena said. "I cook more then just breakfast, so supper will be ready soon. I'll show you to your room."
"It's beautiful." Cordelia said a few minutes later. "The whole house is beautiful."
"Thank you. It was built in the 1800's. See you at supper."
"She's a very peaceful person to be around." Xander observed, as he pulled their suitcases out of the dimensional pocket. Later, they went down to supper.
"Oh my gods!" Xander exclaimed. "If my mouth could orgasm, it would. That is incredibly good!"
"It is, isn't it?" Pete agreed. "No one cooks as good as Leena, she's definitely got a gift for it."
"Thank you. Your appreciation is appreciated." She said with a small delighted smile.
The evening was spent with them all entertaining each other with stories.
"I swear, I did a love spell on Cordelia to get even with her for breaking up with me on Valentine's day. It back fired and half the women in town were chasing me wanting to make me their cuddle monkey and then wanting to kill me because if they couldn't have me, no one would." Xander told them.
"And you got back together?" Myka asked.
"The next day." Cordelia told. "I'd been regretting bowing to peer pressure anyway. See, my family had money and status, his didn't. But him doing that, showed I hurt him. I didn't intend to hurt him, but I did. I figured, if I don't have money, he might still love me. Then the girl who used Magic to break us up, destroyed my family's finances and sent my adopted parents to another reality, which one we don't know. Xander still loves me. He doesn't care about the loss of the money, he still loves me."
"Justifying your faith in him." Claudia pointed out.
"Yes, he has." Cordelia agreed.
"Where else am I going to find a self professed bitch Queen who's fun to argue with? She's perfect for me and I was finally smart enough to realize it."
"My first day here I accidentally summoned a ferret from somewhere. It reminds me of Pete, cute and annoying." Myka told them. "I keep it in a cage in my room."
"I think one of the most interesting things about the Warehouse is the number of famous people who've worked for it." Claudia said. "Including H. G. Wells."
"When did he work for the Warehouse?" Xander asked. "I always liked his books."
"She worked for the Warehouse in the late 1800's. Then when her daughter was murdered, she went on ice for awhile because she had a hard time dealing with it. Then she worked for it again just recently, but currently is a free agent. Unfortunately, her grief led to her nearly destroying the world." Myka said sadly. "She occasionally runs across something and sends it to us or notifies us about it. She's doing better."
"H. G. Wells is a woman?" Xander asked. "And I feel for her. Grief can make you insane. No one should outlive a child, especially to lose that child to violence."
"In the first reality we jumped to, it was by accident. We met duplicates of ourselves who had two children. Within seconds of meeting them, I would have killed to protect them and I didn't give birth to them." Cordelia said. "Xander wanted to beat the crap out of his counterpart because he thought he was being careless with the older one's safety. Turned out he wasn't, but it's a good thing for him that he wasn't, because I have no doubt Xander would have followed though. Children should be cherished, all too many people forget that."
"My first introduction to the Warehouse involved one of Jimi Hendrix's guitars." Jinx told them. "It causes electrical discharges and plays on its own. To stop it you have to bend the pitch. Fortunately, Claudia plays the guitar and was able to do it."
"During one of the times the dimensional portal Xander mentioned was open, I drove my car over a bunch of freaks who were trying to kill our computer teacher and Willow, the red head we mentioned earlier. Didn't stop 'em. But it did buy some time. Fortunately, the thing was closed when the guy who opened it was dispatched. But that was a scary half an hour." Cordelia told them.
"Sounds like it. We have a vault, called the Dark Vault, that we use for the most dangerous artifacts." Artie said. "The ones that can kill people themselves. No one goes in there alone, no matter how tightly we contain them, they can still affect people. Definitely a scary place."
"The thing under our town, we call it the Hellmouth, because of what comes out of it. Even closed it can affect people. It made one girl go invisible and she went insane. She tried to cut up Cordy's face, because everyone sees Cordy. She was considered the most popular girl in school, gorgeous, rich and not a brain dead moron. Can't really blame Marci for going insane, even if I don't like the fact that she fixed everything she was feeling on Cordelia." Xander said.
"Well, I think we should call it a night." Artie said. "Pete's mom will be here in the morning. Everyone have a good night."
"You too Artie." They all said and headed off to bed.
