Day 13: kissing

Tuffnut watched from the window as his sister snuck out yet again, he had noticed her trying to avoid him for the last couple of days and was not having it. Grabbing his mace (you never know what will happen) he jumped out the window and followed the other 'Nut from a distance. Ruffnut looked over her shoulder, an amused smile on her face as she watched her brother try to be stealthy. Yes, she had been spending less time with him but she had a very valid reason; not long ago she and Snotlout had started dating and though he had no problem making it public she knew Tuffnut wouldn't handle it well.

Once in the forest, it was easier to lose her brother and Ruffnut finally made it to her destination. Grabbing her spear the blonde threw it at the sleeping viking the blade just barely missing his head. The sound of the spear hitting his helmet was enough to wake Snotlout and set off his fight or flight, this time being fight. Upon seeing that it was just Ruffnut he tossed the stick he had grabbed to use as a weapon aside, his face showing just how irritated he was with her prank. If Ruffnut felt sorry about what she did she didn't show it and instead walked over to her boyfriend and pulled him into a kiss, her twin but a distant memory.

Tuffnut stumbled back onto the path, cursing Ruffnut for being so good at hiding her tracks. Tuffnut couldn't believe his eyes. First, his sister sneaks out, and now she's kissing Snotlout in the middle of the forest after nearly giving him a heart attack with a spear prank. He stood there, mace in hand, trying to process the scene unfolding before him. The shock on his face slowly turned into a mixture of confusion and anger.

"What in Thor's name is going on here?" Tuffnut exclaimed, his voice carrying a blend of annoyance and betrayal. Ruffnut and Snotlout reluctantly broke the kiss, turning their attention to the irate twin.

Ruffnut smirked, her eyes gleaming mischievously. "Hey, Tuff. Fancy meeting you here."

Tuffnut's eyes darted between his sister and Snotlout, his grip on the mace tightening. "Explain. Now."

Snotlout sighed, rolling his eyes. "Relax, Tuff. Ruff and I are dating. It's not the end of the world."

Tuffnut's jaw dropped. "What? Since when? And why didn't you tell me?"

Ruffnut shrugged, a nonchalant attitude masking any hint of guilt. "It's a recent development, and we knew you'd flip out. So, surprise!"

Tuffnut's frustration bubbled to the surface. "You've been avoiding me for days just for this? You know I hate secrets."

Ruffnut sighed, the playful smirk fading for a moment. "Look, Tuff, we didn't want to hurt your feelings, but we thought you'd react like this. We're still the same siblings; nothing's changed."

Tuffnut scowled. "Nothing's changed? You're dating my best friend! That's a pretty big change."

Snotlout chimed in, attempting to ease the tension. "Come on, Tuff. We didn't want to keep it from you, but we knew you'd freak out. We're not trying to replace you or anything."

Tuffnut grumbled, his anger slowly subsiding into resignation. "You guys are unbelievable. Just don't expect me to be all happy about this right away."

Ruffnut grinned, giving her brother a playful punch on the shoulder. "Give it time, Tuff. You'll come around. Now, let's get out of this forest before dragons decide to make us their next snack."

As the trio made their way back to Berk, the dynamic between the siblings had indeed shifted. Tuffnut couldn't shake off the feeling of being left out, but deep down, he knew he'd have to accept the changes that came with his sister's new relationship.
